I submitted a request to the company for a quote. I needed to have my front and back porch cleaned and painted. Alex responded and asked for my address and availability for an estimate. I responded with my address, available days and the date in which I needed the work completed. I NEVER heard back from Alex. Im not sure why he was not interested in doing business with me. My only thoughts are that he did not want to come to the neighborhood in which my home is located. He seemed responsive and enthusiastic until I responded with my address. At the bare minimum, as a professional he should have responded to my email.

While I underestimated the time it would take to finish the job, Israel was willing to put in the extra time to finish the job. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the work that was done. Communication with Alex was professional and he too was committed to making sure the job was completed. I am so very happy with the entire process and most certainly plain to use Z&Z painting again. And yes I will always request Israel as well. The quality of his work is exceptional!

This was the second time I used Z&Z. It went great, as it did the first time. The owner is communicative in regards to scheduling and the work looks great. The team is friendly and tidy. I've referred them to friends and neighbors and will continue to do so and use them in the future.

I previously hired this company to paint my mom's home and I was so pleased with their work that I hired them for my own home. They just finished today. I took advantage of the "Painter for a Day" special. Benjamin was punctual and professional. He got a great deal done in the allotted time. I will be using them again when I am ready to paint other areas of my home.

I outreached via email and heard back from Alex on the same day. He came out to our home to review the rooms that we'd like to have painted. He then promised to provide an estimate within 48 hours - and he provided an estimate within 24 hours. Alex is very professional and answered each of my questions. I have subsequently hired his company to do the work so I will update my review accordingly after completion. We are looking forward to working with his company. Update: we scheduled the work and were told by Alex that they would arrive promptly at 7AM on a Monday morning and stayed until 5PM every day working hard the entire day. I have to say that this is the first experience with a contractor where the crew showed up every day on schedule at 7AM and stayed until 5PM every day. They all worked very hard throughout the day to complete the work and were both respectful of our needs to move around while they were painting in addition to answering any questions and making modifications accordingly. Most importantly, the painting was excellent and each room looks beautiful. Truly professional with attention to detail and responsive to any modifications. I was most concerned about moving some of our furniture (especially electrical things such as a home theater) and they were very conscientious to ensure that everything was put back in it's place w/o problems. We had one small issue and it was resolved appropriately. I will definitely use this company again for any painting jobs that we need done.

I saw a story about Z and Z Painting and Restoration in the current issue of Angie's magazine. I called him to get an estimate for removing wallpaper and border in 2 bedrooms, painting both rooms plus patching and painting a closet in each room, and repairing and painting a small section of hallway ceiling. We made an appointment. Alex was right on time for the estimate. He walked through the 2 rooms and took notes as we asked questions. We were concerned with how badly the walls might be damaged because the wallpaper had been up for many years. He said he would email us with an estimate which he promptly did. We accepted his estimate and set up a time for the following week to get the work done. Alex came promptly with his 2 workers on the day agreed upon. He introduced the 2 men, one of which was his dad. He left after they had their instructions. They were conscientious about covering our wooden floors and staircase. His crew worked steadily from 8:00 am until 5:00 p.m. They came back the next day and worked from 7:00 a.m. until almost 5:00 p.m. Even though they had trouble removing the old wallpaper from the wallboard, you can't tell because they did such a great job applying the sealer and skim coat! They were even able to paint around a closet organizer in one closet and it looked fine. They did a high quality job and we won't hesitate to use their company again.

This is easy. Everything I could ever ask for, I received. The painter, Benjamin, went above and beyond expectations with regard to care and skill. Every possible rough area of every wall was smoothed to perfection and it shows -- the paint looks amazing because he took the time to do the "underneath" work so well. I could go on and on, but let me just say this.. They were easy to communicate with.. The worker was professional, on time, hard working, and skilled.. the price was more than fair. I 1,000% (yeah, 1,000) recommend this business -- kudos!

Overall was extremely satisfied with all aspects of the work and service. Owner, Alex, responded to my initial contact and we coordinated a date/time to come by and provide me with an estimate for the work I was looking to get done. Within 24 hours of the estimate, he provided me with a proposal. I obtained several other proposals from other companies, and their proposal was a bit higher then the other proposals. However, I still decided to move forward with them based on other reviews and my positive interactions with him. His crew showed up every day as scheduled, was flexible to my schedule, and allowed additional samples above what I was supposed to get. Work was done as scheduled. Quality of the paintwork was excellent. I walked the entire place and looked at all the walls and they looked amazing to me, and Alex suggested even fixing things that I couldn't see. Quality of work was great and I was very impressed. Also, cleanup and care of my belongings/furniture was immaculate. They left my home each day clean and exactly how I left it, always cleaning up after themselves. They took great care of everything in my place. I have already referred Alex and his company to some of my friends and would definitely use him again.

Benjamin was prompt, courteous and precise in his painting. He made worked through all 8 hours without a break. We are happy with his work.

I contacted them via their website and filled out the contact form, informing them each time of my contact information, what I needed and that I was an Angies' List member. I did this twice about a week apart. I waited a little more than two weeks from the first contact and never got a response to either request. This company should be removed from the list.

It went great, exactly as planned. Alex's team was very punctual, tidy and professional. The paint looks fantastic and we are very happy with the results. One of the team added some wainscoting to the dining room and it looks amazing. They also worked overtime to get certain rooms painted before the carpeting showed up. We would definitely use them again in the future to paint the rest of our rooms when we are ready.

They were great. I had them do work in my stairwell and the upstairs hallway. They were very meticulous about cleanup – all the way around. Their prices were fair.

This is the 2nd time I've used Z&Z for painting jobs. They were able to get me on the schedule fairly quickly....Israel showed up exactly when he was supposed to--and got immediately to work preparing the site. What I love most about this firm is that, even though there is a time limit in the Angie's List offer (8 hrs for this particular one), the painter makes sure that he does a good job at what he was hired to do. In this case, even though the walls were in decent shape, Israel insisted on patching any spots that he did not like. I've been highly satisfied with this firm on both occasions--and will definitely hire them again in the future!!

House looks great. Alex and his team did a fantastic job. Showed up on time and completed the job as planned.

It went great. They were very flexible and went right to work. Their work looks great. You can't even tell it was repaired it al looks original.

Alex from the start was quite professional and up front with his quote. We had the difficult task of finding the perfect light sage green to do our whole home. After many samples that were not right to us and two rooms also painted, Alex was very patient as we halted the job to find the proper color, delaying his schedule and timeline by over a week. He and his crew were professional, courteous and clean. They were meticulous with their edges, which was critical to us. In the end, we decided we wanted several light switches changed, and he obtained them even though many were hard to find sizes. Like other reviewers said, if his crew was not happy with how a room looked with a certain number of coats of paint, they did an additional coat without charging us more. I would definitely use Alex and his crew again.

Alex, the owner/coordinator, and Benjamin, the painter, are a great team. They were efficient and did a wonderful job. Very hapy with them, definitely will use their service again.

They did a fantastic job. They did everything we discussed. The end result was worth every cent. I am pleased with the whole process and I'm really glad I chose them. So grateful for the Angie's List reviews that led me to them.

They were on time for the service, and it worked out well overall. I have no complaints.

Alex - the owner - called us very shortly after we left him a voice message and was out the next day (Saturday) to give us an estimate. The following day (Sunday) we received a written estimate from Alex and, after discussing it with him and confirming the scope of work, we agreed to proceed. As we needed the work done as soon as possible to coordinate with other work being done by other contractors, Alex was kind enough to work with us on scheduling and had a crew out to us 2 days later at 8am sharp! The painters, Israel and Benjamin, worked hard for 2 days straight to complete the job. They were both meticulous about every detail, extremely nice to work with, accommodated all questions and requests, completed the job with absolutely minimal disruption to our household routine (the kids were home from school both days) and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving each day, with a final inspection and cleaning once the job was finished. TOP NOTCH, PROFESSIONAL SHOP. This is the second time we have used them, and we could not be more pleased. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Took care to a lot of prepwork very good workmanship

Benjamin did a great job. Worked hard and completed the entire job with 2 coats of paint on the walls. Very meticulous about making it look good. All furniture was covered and floors were also covered. I had already removed everything possible that would get in the way so that saved time. Also bought good quality paint.
