Mr Grout

The bathrooms in our recently purchased 1968 home are original. The tub in our master bath was not useable due to loose tiles. The grout and caulk in both bathrooms was dirty. Mr. Grout removed the loose tiles without breaking them. He reset the old tile, replaced the grout and caulk in both bathrooms. He replaced the caulk in the powder room, which was not part of the bid, for no additional charge. My bathrooms look clean and the 40-year-old tile looks like new. He arrived on time, was courteous and professional. I will call him again.

Madeleine arrived promptly for our estimate and came all the way from Buffalo Grove. Aside from the main bath shower stall, we had 2 other smaller caulking jobs in the house that we were interested in having her do. She said "no problem", and instantly gave me a very fair price on all the work, and it was less then I was expecting. We scheduled a date for the service then and there, but had to change it a couple days later - and they were very flexible about this. Her husband and a worker arrived promptly, reviewed everything that needed to be done before they started, and got right to work. The final work was just what I'd hoped to have done - but didn't expect to get! This small family business is as quality as they come.

Everything went very well. The estimate was made in a timely manner, it was easy to schedule the job, and they showed up on time and did the work quickly. We were experiencing a leak in our dining room from one of the showers. They were careful and confident in their diagnosis of the problem. Both showers look as good as new and there are no leaks. I'm very satisfied. I didn't call other vendors for quotes since I thought the price was reasonable; I left the price rating as N/A.

Came to give us an estimate and to look at the work to be done. Came the next day and fixed everything. Great job.

Prompt,neat,clean and meticulous. Took great care to achieve the desired grout color. My bathrooms look like new.

When I called for an estimate, I got a call back within an hour. The appointment was a few days later. He came exactly at the time he said he would, didn't stop till he was done. Left the bathroom neat. They gave me 5 days in between bathrooms so I would always have one in use. I would defitnatly hire Mr. Grout again! GREAT JOB! Thanks!

Very positive experience! Great communication from company. Appointments (estimating and repairing) were punctual and professional. I was advised that repair may not solve all of the issues I identified, but I was not "sold" a more expensive potential fix. The owner took the "let's see how the less expensive approach works and if needed we can wrap the cost into a later repair" approach. I did *not* feel as if I was being sold something I didn't need or that might not solve the problem. Workman was courteous and punctual. Bathroom looks great. Owner followed up the day after the repair to gauge my satisfaction! Wow-- how often does that happen!?!

I received an estimate detailing the work to be done as well as the possibility of hidden damage behind the loose tiles. The workers came out on time, reseated 2 tiles, replaced all of the grout & caulk, cleaned the shower, and left the area clean. Final cost was in the middle of their estimate range. I would definitely use this company again.

Came at expected time, and worked til job was completed, approximately 61/2 hours of straight work.

Very well. For us, that is. Not so well for Matt, who did the work, as the job ended up being much more involved than any of us had thought. The tile that we got turned out to be quite irregular, and therfore difficult to lay evenly, and a lot more of the wall needed to be replaced than had been anticipated. It was originally estimated to be a one day job, but he had to come back for a few hours the next day. Overall, we were very pleased. Matt and his crew were neat, friendly and professional. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up very well after themselves. Madeleine, who did the estimate, was also very friendly and helpful. She came several times actually, both before and after the work was done. As it turned out, there was an area that was missed, which was not noticeable until it got wet a couple of days later. She came right back and fixed it to our satisfaction, even after we had already payed and the job was closed. They were very accomodating to our schedule, and made the whole process quite painless. We would not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend them to our friends.

Amazingly, I received a phone call from Mr. Grout almost immediately. I even joked about how prompt they were. Madeline (Mrs. Grout) came to my home at a pre-arranged time - arrived promptly and presented me with an estimate for the work I needed. She remembered that I called from referrals on Angie's List and gave me the Angie's List discount. I arranged for Mr. Grout to come out to do the work. He was right on time and finished the job in just under 3 hours. He was pleasant, very thorough and had a great sense of humor. I would definitely recommend Mr. Grout and would have the company back anytime I need this type of service.

Oustanding craftmanship and quality, highly detail oriented, and pride in workmanship. What a refreshing and comforting experience! I won't hesitate to recommend them! They arrived on time (even before) each day, even with a relatively long commute and traffic. They completed the work on time exactly as promised. They communicated with me thoroughly throughout the process and followed up immediately upon completion of work. They kept the work area exceptionally clean at all times and were respectful of my home. Mr. Grout discussed with me in detail ahead of time the work to be accomplished and made additional suggestions which I welcomed. Their focus on detail was obvious and they took their time to do it right the first time. They are clearly masters of their craft, perfectionists even, and take pride in each project they complete. One of the best experiences I have had with contractors ever.

Laszlo did the work and explained every step he took in the process. He was very neat and while the cement was drying he cleaned out a drain in a sink nearby, (without my asking). He said he would rather be doing something during the wait then to just be idle. He did a wonderful job. The tiled walls look brand new. He caulked all around the tub, even along the floor line. He truly is an "old world craftsman".

They repainted the grout in my master bathroom and cleaned the grout in my shower about a couple of years ago. They have done other little things for me. Since we have a steam shower, the tiles need to be cleaned at least once in a while. They do an awesome job. Having the grout painted instead of having it re-grouted was like a huge savings in money. My bathroom looks amazing and new now. The service was excellent and they were very professional. Madeline comes out to give estimates. It?s a family business and they do a fantastic job. They are very clean too. They are great and I love them. I have used them again and I would highly recommend them to anybody.

Excellent. Customer cleaned tub before tradesman arrived. Moldly caulk is gone and replaced by new caulk. The workman finished within the day and also wanted payment that day. Grout color matched, either to grout on the floor, or, to grout color for the wall tile. Customer provided the replacemnt floor tile and the tradesman installed the floor tile.

Excellent. From the first phone call to the conclusion of the project they were quick to respond, detail orientated, and overall did great work. One of the few contractors that I've worked with that did what they said they'd do, showed up on time, and finished up on time. I wasn't there that they so they explained exactly what we needed to do afterwords to my wife. Great experience.

Matt came and regrouted our shower. He removed existing caulk, killed any mildew, replaced loose tiles (there were more than thought). He removed any loose grout and re-grouted. Some areas where the grout was solid and good still, he stained to match the new white grout. It looks great and we have no more leaking or mildew!

They were terrific- I tried to install a shower door and found that there was a hole where the bracket was installed. I called Mr Grout and Madeleine came to my house to estimate the job the next day. Because it was my shower, she asked if I wanted the job done the next day. They came to my house first thing in the morning on the next day and fixed everything better than new.

Another service provider recommended this company to repair the grout. They scraped out the old grout by hand and replaced with new grout. They also redid the caulking. They were very neat and clean when they did this work.

The worker was on time and the estimate was right on the money. It took a few hours and was well done. I highly recommend the company!

The leak was finally fixed permanently, after putting in the Corian, over the leaky spot.
