He arrived at the scheduled time,was interested in my input, and was extremely neat.

I contact Mr. Grout and had them come to give me an estimate for my bathroom and entry way tile. They were very accommodating in coming when I was available. After I received a written quote scheduling the work was easy and again worked around my schedule. On the day of work they called to confirm and came on time. We went over what was to be done and discussed the entry tile. Most importantly he gave me a very honest opinion on my entry way tile and stated that repairing it would only be a short term solution, he confirmed what I was told at time of estimate as well. They were schedule to repair on the same day but after talking with him I decided to have them come back another day to put in new tile the entry instead of repairing. I called and scheduled this work with ease. He gave my the dimensions of the tile I need to buy and other tips. His assistant had some great ideas too, Very professional and honest. My bathroom looks like new and they cleaned up perfectly.

Madeline came over to give an estimate; I had samples of the tiles I'd chosen. She was able to look at possible problems (in this case, the accent tile was a little lower in depth than the tile sheets), and give me an exact idea of square footage, type of grout, and how much to purchase. I'd had one previous estimate that was a little less expensive but felt more confident after speaking with Madeline that Matt was the person to do this, due to the potential problems. Matt installed the tile the following week. He was very punctual, polite and respectful. I can't imagine a nicer person to have working in your home. Because the backsplash area was not perfectly square, he ended up having to cut the tiles off the sheets in places and adjusting grout lines to visually line things up. He also had to build up the grout under the accent tile to make up for the difference in depth. Ultimately, he was able to place the accent tile line just where I wanted it, and the job looks wonderful. He was meticulous about cleaning up afterward. I am very pleased with the work and would definitely use them again for another project.

Madeline came promptly to give an estimate. She was very thorough. Her husband arrived on time for our appointment and then Madeline arrived to help him. Both of my bathrooms look like new! They are amazing!! Would definitely highly recommend.

Everything was great. Madeline was very flexible in timing to give me an estimate, she took a sample of the grout to match color, and the work performed was quick and done very well. The caulk was done very clean, and the color matches great.

Madeline was prompt in coming to look at the work to be done and give us an estimate of the job. Matt came and performed the work. We found Mr. Grout to be friendly and efficient. They take pride in their work and put in the extra effort to insure that I was a satisfied customer. Matt did a good job of cleaning up the area when his work was complete. The bathrooms look like new and exceed my expectations. I will definitely recommend Mr. Grout to others.

Madeline came out in November to give us an estimate. She arrived on time and gave a written estimate. We set up an appointment for her husband to return in December. They were punctual. Her husband got to work removing the caulk in our shower stall while she began cleaning the marble floor tile and grout. The cleaning materials they used had no fumes or any odor. She then cleaned the white ceramic tile and grout in our kitchen. When he finished recaulking the shower and the junction of the marble floor and wall trim ( using a matching gray caulk) they went on to our master bath. He removed the caulk from our Jacuzzi tub while Madeline cleaned the marble floor tile and grout. They took about four hours to complete the job. The shower looked like new. The tile floors looked great with the grout cleaned and the pattern in the marble and the white on white ceramic tile in the kitchen showed up better than it has since we bought the condo 7 years ago. They showed me the cleaning products they used and made recommendations on how to maintain the tile, grout and caulk. They were both very professional and gave me some good advice on she future bathroom remodeling we are considering. I have recommended them to friends already and will certainly use them in the future. Madeline gave us a $25.00 discount for being members of Angies list and they did some extra work she didn't charge for.

Madeline was on time for the estimate and gave me a written estimate. On the day of the work, they were a little late, but communicated with me, so there was no issue. Originally, the job was just to be the two tub grouting and caulking to the tune of about $235, but I got carried away and told them to go ahead on the additional work.. Was a little surprised by the price, but the result was well worth it. They worked very, very hard and were perfectionists. I will definitely use them again, if I need to and will refer them.

They arrived a little late due to traffic but they called to inform me. When they arrived a review of the work was discussed and they had choices of grout colors. The work took a couple of hours, they cleaned up after themselves, provided me with verbal drying time instructions. In addition, they suggested a marble cleaner/sealer that I should use to maintain the quality of the marble. The next day I noticed about an inch area where the grout was missing, I was surprised as I had not noticed this upon inspection of the work and prior to payment. I called them and without any hassles they explained what coudle of happened and we scheduled a return visit. They returned a couple of days later and took care of the issue. .

Company responded quickly to call and came out to inspect the problem and provide an estimate. (Shower water leaking into basement). Determined that grout from the inside lip of the shower was cracked and missing. After this visit, I called them to schedule a repair date. Repair was accomplished quickly and professionally. Care was taken to match grout color and left me a sample for future. A follow up call was received three days later. We have now used the shower and the leak seems to be fixed. I would recommend them and would use again. Overall, a good experience.

Set up appointment then cancelled at the last moment (and only after I called to to ensure they're still coming) because "husband refuses to work downtown - there's never any parking". That's their prerogative, but it should be stated in their profile so no one wastes their time.

Madeline responded very promptly to the Angie’s list inquiry, called to arrange a visit and provide an estimate, arrived on schedule, explained the problems with the tile we had, recommended mesh backed tile, and quoted a very reasonable price for the job. Matt, the other half of Mr. Grout, showed up exactly as scheduled, explained what he was going to do, and did it – leaving the bathroom clean and orderly. The installation of the new tile is excellent, especially in consideration of the difficulty removing the old tile, the condition of the wallboard, and the irregular line of the wall tiles installed by the previous contractor. Very nicely done. Overall a very pleasant experience. Nice people.

I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Grout and his wife. They are AMAZING! Madeline came out to give me an estimate on replacing caulk in two bathrooms. In conversation, I told her about a problem we were having in our master bathroom. We had a leak in our shower from old, damaged caulk and cracked tiles. The leak caused a mold spot on our wall. She asked to see it. I told her that we had two people out who said we needed to take all the tile off, replace it and get a new shower stall. The shower stall is a custom stall which is quite expensive. After seeing it, Madeline assured me that they could fix it and I wouldn't need to do all that work. Mr. Grout came out and worked on our other two bathrooms. I was THRILLED with his work. I asked him to look at the master bath. He agreed with Madeline. We did not want to gut the entire bathroom if we didn't need to. It would have been a messy, month long project with estimated costs between 11,000-16,000! We took a chance and hired Mr. Grout. Both he and Madeline repeatedly assured us that they could fix it. They came at 8:30 and worked until 4:30. They didn't even stop for lunch. Madeline suggested that we change the color of the grout on our bathroom floor. She was 100% right! It looks like a brand new floor. They replaced all the grout in the shower. They repaired some tiles. They replaced caulk in the shower, jacuzzi, sinks and toilet. They repaired the moldy wall spot. They even tried to fix the leaking shower head. They cleaned everything. Honestly, it looks like a brand new bathroom! We feel as if we have a brand new bathroom for $850. They saved us $10,000-16,000! Not to mention having to live through a month long mess. Mr. Grout and Madeline take so much pride in their work. They were so honest and hard working. It is important to them that you are happy. They are very neat workers. They were as happy as I was that we didn't need to spend that kind of money. I cannot begin to tell you just how wonderful they are. I will use them for any grout or tile needs in the future. I HIGHLY recommend them! I am trying to submit before & after photos so you can see their amazing work. They're the best!

Madeline came to give us a quote. She is very nice and knowledgeable. We had areas of grout that appear to have been installed incorrectly. Although Madeline honestly said she could not guarantee, she promised to do their best to fix it. Matt (her husband) came to do the work on our scheduled day. He is also an extremely nice person, and very knowledgeable. It was clear from the beginning that he wanted to do the best he could for us. He worked professionally and neatly. Matt did a great job matching the existing grout color. Unfortunately, within 3 days some of the grout was coming out (not his fault, we're sure). We called Madeline back and she rescheduled another time for Matt to come out. He came promptly, looked at the problem, and decided to add more silicone to the grout mixture. Some of the areas he had repaired the first time, were still good, but some areas needed to be done again. Matt did the repairs again, for no extra cost. While he was here, he suggested that if it comes out again, he could try an epoxy grout. He indicated that this is harder to work with and you can't add color to it, so we'd have to find a color that matches. He seemed very interested in doing whatever he could to help us with this ongoing problem. Unfortunately (again), the grout is crumbling out in the same places as last time. So, we are going to have to call and have Matt come back out (we would not expect him to do this for no charge again). We have a somewhat unique problem, but would say that if you need grout or caulk work done, this is the company to call!

The entire project from estimate to completion was fantastic. Madeline Gera came out to do the estimate on a Tuesday and happened to have an opening that Thursday to complete the work. Her husband does the actual work and arrived exactly at the time committed. In fact he was early and I was still walking home from the school bus stop. He started the work at 8:30 in the morning and was finished by 12:30. The old grout and caulk was removed, re-applied and everything cleaned up. He did a great job matching the caulk to the tile and it looks fantastic. He even commented that I would probably hate the look of the rest of my bathroom after he was done with the shower. He was right! I actually commented to him on his way out that I can't remember having someone do work in my home that took as much pride in what they did as both he and his wife. The service was excellent.

Mr. & Mrs. Grout were prompt. They worked with me on a solution to replace tile. Reasonably priced - the job took six hours. We all were satisfied with the results. They are GREAT!

When I contacted MR. GROUT Madeline Cera, owner, explained their services and set up a time for an estimate. She arrived on time and explained what they could do and gave me a breakdown of the costs, which was 50% cheaper than one of her franchised competitors (and both companies gave the same one year guarantee). After we had set a date for the work, I had to make a change, and they were very flexible. Madeline and her husband Matthew showed up a bit late, but they had telephoned on the way in to let me know that they would be late because of the traffic; (we had heavy rains on 6/20 in the Chicago-land area which made the morning rush worse than usual).On arrival, Matthew and Madeline set to work cleaning, scrubbing and removing all the old caulk. The jobs were completed in four hours, as they had estimated, and everything looks like new. If you value old-fashioned professionalism and hard work, call MR.GROUT. Madeline and Matthew cleaned and fixed areas of the bathrooms that we had not discussed because they wanted everything to look good and clean. And they did not charge more than the agreed upon price. They are very careful workers; nothing was banged or dinged. I plan to use them again for my kitchen and for additional tile work. In addition, they are both great to talk to!

I contacted Mr Grout and we arranged a time for an estimate. Madeline came to my home and assessed the job. We set up a date to have the work done. Mr Grout and his helper arrived and started to work immediately. He mentioned that a new soapdish would make the shower look better and I agreed. I went to work and left them to complete the project. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised! My old tile looks like new. The whole bathroom looks renewed, Mr Grout is a true artisan. He took that 35 year old tile and made it look like brand new tile. He also laid a bead of chaulk around the outside of the shower and after later inspection I realized he had also done the same around my toilet without mention. He truely went above and beyond my expectations. I will recommend Mr Grout to my friends and family.

Excellent company. Madeline and her husband are a great team! Our shower looks fantastic our well water prior to getting a whole house filtration system took a major toll on our shower ceramic tile & grout after Mr. Grout came it looks brand new . Would def. use them again!

When I bought this condo (built in 1980) and took a look at the bathrooms my first thought was to completely remove the shower tiles and install new ones. But after careful evaluation of the condition of the tiles by Mr. Grout, they recommended to perform the job according to the above description. To summarize my opinion and experience with them: detail oriented professional inspection and honesty in preparing the quote; outstanding craftsmanship, extremely high quality, cleanliness, punctuality when performing the job. I am in engineering and a pathologically picky person about quality but I could not find any problem in this project (and the reference works I had a chance to see before hired Mr. Grout). Not only do I have great looking and perfectly sealed shower tiles now but they have saved me a couple of thousand dollars, too. I would definitely not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend them to anyone.

Mr. and Mrs. Grout were friendly and punctual from start to finish during the project. We were a bit disappointed in several areas of grout haze that were left on the travertine tile, but Mr. Grout was working under tight time constraints. Also, Mrs. Grout told us that the installation of the toilet was included in her estimate, but Mr. Grout charged us $100 extra for it. Aside from these two negatives, we were pleased with their work. We're bringing them back to install tile in a second bathroom. I will post a follow-up once that project has been completed.

Sometimes "A" rated contractors turn out to be less than expected. Not in this case. Madeline came and provided a clear explanation of what I should have done and why, and what estimated cost would be. Her husband and another worker came to do the work, arrived right on time, removed their shoes, did a wonderful job, cleaned up nicely after themselves. Everything looks great, I feel I paid a very fair price, and I believe these folks run an honest business and truly take pride in their work.
