Montway Auto Transport

It went pretty smoothly. They picked the vehicle up on Saturday and delivered on Tuesday. They kept in contact the whole way, and coordinated pickup and delivery in a very efficient manner. I also liked how the driver that picked up the vehicle was also the same driver that delivered the vehicle.

I relocated from Virginia to Illinois and decided to ship my car. I researched companies online, requested quotes, read reviews, and finally decided on Montway for a variety of reasons: one, they are consistently ranked as a top carrier on multiple websites; two, price was reasonable; and three, I had used them previously and felt comfortable doing so again. Here's the good and bad of what I learned: 1) Do your research. Companies who are brokers do not actually move your vehicle. They find a company to do the work. Montway is both a broker and carrier -- in this case, they contracted work out to third party. 2) Use companies like uShip for price comparison instead of finding websites online to request quotes. I did both and while I can control what occurs on uShip, I am still receiving emails from auto transport companies months later. *Note* because uShip is like eBay for shippers, the costs are generally higher than the open market. 3) CALL companies, do not just rely on what the website says. Montway's service representative quoted a price LOWER than the website and that was after I decided to book with them. The actually delivery was very quick, however there were some issues. The driver Montway sent had me meet him ~10 miles from where I worked because it was easier for him. The driver also had a very heavy accent, so communication was difficult. Most of the times companies quote 7-10 days for delivery. Mine occurred overnight. I paid the driver a bank issued money order so the person who had the vehicle delivered to would not have to pay. When the driver delivered the car, he demanded $50.00 more saying that I had shorted him, however after some back and forth, he admitted he had made a mistake. Unfortunately, this is a natural problem when you are not there to physically accept delivery. While the delivery portion was a bit more stressful than I liked, communicating with Montway (company) was very easy. They kept me informed throughout the delivery process and I always had the name and number of driver. I would recommend this company for others interested in auto shipping.

poniAfter contacting quite a few transporters, and both good and bad reading reviews pertaining to all of them, I selected Montway, and am glad I did. There price, was not the lowest, nor was it the highest, and I selected them primarily based upon their responsiveness to my initial inquiry, and their follow through with later calls and requests. The driver arrived timely at the pick up location, and was in contact with me throughout the trip. The drop off occurred one day before it was scheduled, a Sunday, which worked out well and I didn't have to interrupt a workday. I would definitely recommend Montway to anyone in need of auto transport, and I will use them again should the need arise.

Bid to ship a car from Miami to San Francisco. I accepted the bid then after 3+ weeks of constant run around they start saying they can't fulfill order unless it's done at a higher rate. When I wrote a bad review they tried strong-arming me to remove review. When I didn't remove the review they cancelled my order.

Montway Auto Transport is a contractor for auto transport and sub out all of their auto transports. I selected this company off of UShip online. When we agreed to the delivery time they had called and changed it twice moving the delivery of my car back 2 weeks. Montway never got involved after this point I was dealing straight with their sub-contractor. Once the car was picked up in Arizona, the truck driver called and pushed it back another 3 days. He blamed it on the weather; but was actually picking up other loads along the way. The trucker at one point picked up another car after he was already 3 days and 3 hours late and just 20 miles from my house. He ended up getting stuck on a RR crossing and a train came along and wiped out my car and split the auto transport in half. The trucker (sub-contractor) was underinsured for the load he was carrying. Its been 15 months I have not received a penny on the claim. I am out the cost of my antique car plus thousands at the auto storage lot. Montway said they are not responsible and would refund my deposit. That was 6 months after the accident and I have not received a penny back on it either. BTW I still live at the same address. My car was a total lost. I never got to sit in it. Montway is responsible for not notifying the customer they sub contract their loads out. They are also responsible for making sure their sub-contractors carrying the appropriate amount of insurance for the load they are carrying. BUYER BEWARE!!!

They worked hard at a difficult time weather-wise to find a trucker. The company they found picked the car up early on a Thursday and delivered the car in Florida on Saturday afternoon. Montway always responded quickly to any of my emails, and they were very courteous and responsive when I phoned them. The trucker was also very courteous and efficient.

Very cordial while making the agreement. This was our first time transporting a vehicle so we did as much research as possible. We could have selected a cheaper service but Montway had very good references from both Angie's list and the BBB. The pickup was a little delayed but they worked with me to not inconvenience me. We were very unsettled since the car was only a year old and was concerned about putting it someone else's care. We watched as the driver took great care when loading the car. Although it was cold out, he removed his jacket when he got in the car to load it. He was looking to keep from transferring any dirt to the inside of the car. My son is in the Service. When the car arrived they gave him enough advanced notice so he could make arrangements to be available. They delivered the car to the main gate of the base in the same condition it was picked up and in the timeframe they said. I'd use this service again.

The guy was good. Handle everything in the safest and fastest way possible. Got two of my cars deliver a day earlier. I use a few other company before and they all same to do a great job. One thing that differ from montway is they call everyday, to let me know what is going on.

. I had some initial communication concerns with Montway but we readily resolved the issue. The private contractor assigned to my order handled himself professionally and accommodated a special request without additional cost. My car was delivered as agreed without any problems.

I shipped my son's car using Montway Auto Transport from NJ to CA. I can only say I was thoroughly satisfied with Montway's performance. By the way, I've read some reviewers complaining of the car arriving dirty, it was, but I expected that in advance going coast to coast in an open carrier. I highly recommend them and if I had the occasion to transport an auto in the future they would be my choice.

The person I spoke to was very courteous, accommodating, and eager to help (without being overly eager, you know). Almost immediately he sent me an e-mail itemizing the estimate we had just discussed. This, compared to a few other transport companies, who apparently couldn't even be bothered to return my calls. If I ever DO need a transport, I'll definitely call Montway.

these guys are terrific and highly professional in a field filled with questionable companies. they were responsive and did exactly what we wanted safely and efficiently

Transported a car Long Island to south Florida. Considering the tight time frame and Thanksgiving's interference the ability to perform the move was remarkable. I would definitly recommend this provider.

It went terrible they did not pick up my car when they said , quoted one price then told me they could not get it done for that price I would not recommend them to my worst enemy

I contacted Montway Auto Transport to hire them to move my car from North Dakota to Upstate New York. The communication was clear up front with what the cost would be, how quickly I could expect to have my car transported, and how long it would take to arrive. I was very pleased with the ongoing communication about this process. The car was picked up as promised and transported across multiple states on a car carrier. This was especially very positive because the car was being picked up from a small town in the Midwest where most carriers did not pick up. The car arrived in perfect condition. They gave us a chance to inspect the car before taking it from the driver. I liked this walk through. We found the car in the same condition it was before it was transported. We met the transporter at a location where the car could come off the carrier and off we went with our vehicle. I was very pleased with this company and would highly recommend them to others who want to trust someone with their vehicle.

It went very well. The two young men were very professional and courtesy. They took great care of the car and it was delivered in excellent shape.

Their price was the least expensive. He was very courteous, spoke eloquently and delivered the car quicker than on time.

The front wheel had some damage to it and I designed my own lug bolt extensions so that my wheel would fit without rubbing on the fender well. It worked and Montway's transporter handled it as I designed it. I am satisfied with Montway's final product/services and based on my experience with them would recommend them to transport vehicles for others.

I contracted with Montway based on the reviews here on Angie's list. Although, I was very disappointed with the vendor they selected. They responded promptly to my concerns and corrected them immediately. For this, I would do business with them again in the future. Much success in your Auto-transportation journey!

Montway was excellent in every aspect of their service. Once we scheduled the auto transport, they called within a couple of days to arrange pick up of the vehicle. Very professional, great service. My car was delivered promptly and without a scratch. Couldn't have went any better. I was nervous about shipping my car but I found Montway on Angie's List and after reading the reviews, felt very comfortable with them.

I received a quote from Montway Auto of $669 to transport my car from Reno, TX to Chicago, IL. I explained to them that I had been shopping around and have been receiving quotes at or below about $525. The rep there offer to lower my quote to $600 even. All though the came in at $75 more, after reading the reviews on the internet and Angie's List and hearing the reps professionalism, I felt the most comfortable with them. They told me I would take up to 5 business days for them to find a transporter in the area. I was The call me back the very next day to let me know that they had found one and that they would be emailing me with the pick up date. They then emailed me an estimated date of pick for 08-29-13. Unfortunately, the car was not picked up until 08-31-13 because of "mechanical problems" with the transporting truck. They then emailed me an estimated date of delivery of 09-03-13 but the car arrived on 09-04-13. (It was picked up and dropped off over the Labor Day weekend so maybe that was the reason it was late) Every time I would call them for status, the reps were very nice on the phone. They called the truck driver for an ETA and called me back right away. I was not on a specific time frame, so although the truck driver was late in picking up and dropping off, the overall experience was GOOD and I would recommend. **(Based on the horror stories and reviews I have read on the internet about other transporting companies, I would say my transaction with Montway was pleasant and went smoothly.)

My objection is that their "INSTANT QUOTE SYSTEM" did not ask for the Year of my 1997 Ford Windstar Van. It is NOT a "Classic Car" and it is NOT A NEW 2013 Model. I thought the $1029 quote seemed excessively HIGH after reading Reviews about this company on Angie's List. I then clicked on the CHAT button and restated my concern to STELLA. There was a LONG wait....NO RESPONSE from STELLA.... Then the SYSTEM said I was transferred to another CHAT Representative named INA.....Who never responded to my initial concern about the QUOTE......IN FACT SHE MADE NO RESPONSE OR CONTACT WITH ME AT ALL. So after more waiting..... I ended the CHAT. THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST ANGIE'S LIST CONTACT.......I wanted to do business with this company. But they couldn't even get out of the Starting Gate. 40 other Car Transporters have all asked about the YEAR of my vehicle.....EVERY ONE OF THEM EXCEPT "MONTWAY Auto Transporter"........and THIS IS WHY I JOINED ANGIE'S LIST TODAY. I was expecting better service from MONTWAY. Would I ever use this Company??? I don't know. IF THEY DROP THE BALL on this KEY PIECE OF INFORMATION...What would they do IF they were actually transporting my Van????? One Auto Dealership had a huge sign in their Repair Shop, "If You are Happy with Our Service...Please Tell Everyone You Know". "IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY....PLEASE TELL US SO WE CAN CORRECT IT"

They were prompt, polite, perfect! I never expected to be so happy with a transport service. The driver kept me informed. He even gave me an option of dropping the car off where I work so I didn't have to miss any work. Excellent, wonderful! The driver was a doll!

I called Montway after receiving quotes from several carriers. I had experienced problems with another auto carrier so I was a little nervous. I was able to get a quote initially by going online without even having to make a phone call. They had good reviews and they offered an extremely competitive bid so I decided to go with them. I needed my car shipped as quickly as possible. When I called them to place my order they answered all my questions; as we spoke they sent me an email confirming the details. After I completed the call they sent me another email confirming payment. They sent me another email after that notifying me that my order had been dispatched to the driver. The driver called me the day before to confirm pick up. He came two hours later then he initially said he would come but he called me a few hours before that to let me know he was running late. When he picked up the car he inspected the outside and documented the dents that were on it. He called my daughter twice before he delivered the car so she was prepared on her end to pick it up. He delivered our car to Tampa exactly when he said he would. The car was in the same shape it was when it left Chicago. The whole process went extraordinarily well. I am so pleased with Montway's level of service. They communicated everything clearly, confirmed it all by email, picked up the car and delivered it promptly and they offered the best rate. I would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to my cousin.
