Montway Auto Transport

Driver got lost. Had to track him down on a very busy highway, where he had parked the auto carrier and our car in the left hand turning lane, with cars zipping by us. Driver very annoyed. When we were picked up in Florida, along with a friend and his car, the driver could not put his car on the carrier because it had a bike rack and bike on the back. Montway had told us it would be no problem, and we even paid an extra $100. We had to figure out how to take the bike apart and carry the remains in both cars.

Montway's communication moving our cars has been absolutely terrible. One car arrived a week early on Saturday night when we weren't in town to receive it. the other car has taken over two weeks and the delivery date slipped 5 times. They were routinely unable to tell me when the car would arrive, citing "drive phone problems" and "truck problems". Finally they gave me the driver's phone number, though he did not return my voice messages. We've now sat around our apartment for 7 straight days waiting for the car that's going to arrive "any minute now". I strongly recommend not using Montway.

Went well with the exception of a lost key for a tool box in back of truck. My son had to pay $80.00 to have box re-keyed. The company did offer me $20.00 before I knew what the real cost was.

I never got in touch with these people. , mostly because I'm in Jacksonville, FL, as are my vehicles, and Montway is in ILLINOIS!!!! Please get your stuff together, folks. This is pitiful.

Everyone on this website please note: Montway, and many of the other companies, are brokers not car transporters. They do not own car carrier trucks nor do they employ drivers. They connect you with a driver/truck who will pick up and deliver your vehicle. As such, the service and reliablity is unique to each driver and their particular schedule. On the way to California, the car was picked up and delivered promptly. On the way back there were delays as the driver took a seemingly circuitous route through Florida. Car delivered intact, no damage.

We accepted Montway’s bid months before we needed the transport and paid half the cost to Ushipit.com at that time who brokered the deal. Montway reneged on the deal July 18, 2018 just a couple of days before the requested pickup date leaving us with a stranded vehicle and no options. They had no explanation on their failure and offered no apologies.

The process was fairly easy. They stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process and the driver called the night before to give me an ETA. My mom's car was not loaded onto a big truck, but more like a tow truck. The car arrived without an issues. I highly recommend you inspect your vehicle closely BEFORE you sign any papers. Our driver handed us the papers and told us to sign it so that he could get the car down and unhook it. I thought this was normal, but realized that I signed saying nothing was wrong with the car before I actually has a chance to look at it. Luckily the only thing was the rearview mirror had fallen off. Not a biggie.

Approximately $1300 of damage occurred while my car was being transported across the country using Montway's Auto Transport Service. The car was very dirty when it arrived. I washed it that day and found damage not noted on the pre-shipping bill of lading. I called Montway that day. I quickly provided all documentation, and had to wait nearly 2 months to hear back. The claim was rejected. They stated that the pictures that I sent from the dealer, pre-shipping, were not clear. The bill of lading filled out by the transport company should be the ultimate document. Despite the website's claims of insurance, they will not stand behind their service. I would not use this company again, nor recommend them to others.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They did not pick up my car until one week AFTER I had to leave LA. I had nowhere to leave my car because I moved out of apartment and couldn't leave it on the street. I couldn't wait for car to be picked up because I had no place to live and a plane ticket back to NY. I had to scramble to find someplace to leave my car and had to greatly inconvenience another person to wait for the trucker to pick it up not really knowing when that would be. To top it off I had to agree to pick the car up 1 hour away from my house in another state in order to get it on the truck going east. Again a major inconvenience. I paid for door-to-door service. When I asked for compensation they told me there was nothing they could do but they would send me a $50 gift card. Never got it. I also had to spend $600 to rent a car in NY because my car arrived back so late. DO NOT USE THEM. They really dropped the ball in scheduling my transport. On the plus side, when my car was finally picked up and delivered the actual trucker was great and very accommodating.

Car damaged by company called Multi Transport that was brokered out by Montway. Now I have $800.00 bill to pay for the repairing of my car. Montway is just a broker. Multi Transport would not reimburse. They wanted me to drive over a100 miles one way for a complimentary repair. RIDICULOUS

Went very well. They picked up my car the exact day they said they would, it was delivered in 5 days at my door. My only negative was my car was covered in oil, because it was on the bottom. But after a ride through the car wash, it was fine. Best experience I've ever had with a car transport. Great price, too. Very very pleased.

Horrible! The company quotes you a price and a window of 2-3 days that the vehicle will be picked up and then they tell you they will contact you when they have a driver. They then wait until 24 hours until the last day of the window and call you saying they have a driver but the price is now $$$ more, BAIT AND SWITCH!!! BEWARE! However, once finally scheduled the driver was punctual, professional and friendly and the car was transported with no further problems. Due to the bait and switch in pricing and the last minute stress of scheduling with multiple phone calls and pricing games, I would not hire this company again. They made me fill vulnerable as it was to late to hire someone else, angry, and stressed.

I found a company to ship the vehicle same day. The manager at Montway explained this lengthy process to get a refund. For a service that they did not provide.

My car was picked up and delivered on time and communication was good. The problem was as a transport driver you should be prepared for dead batteries and cars running out of gas. My car was first loaded so 2 other cars had to be off-loaded to get my car off the truck. When the driver got to my house only one of the three cars on his truck would start, he was going to use my car to jump the car behind it (not good). My car had gas in it, the other two did not. To get my car off the transport I had to give the driver 6 gallons of gas and barrow my boat battery to jump the cars. I was told I would be reimbursed for the gas but never saw a dime. I helped to get the cars started and off the transport. The transport is an old carrier that does not work good and the driver damaged the undercarriage of my car unloading it due to hydraulics not working properly (it broke a piece of plastic off). The driver was not even thankful for what I did to help him get back on the road. When I left an e-mail with feedback the response was not nice and obviously customer service is not important to them. DO not use this transport service for your car.

They are mid priced but provide superior service. The driver was very nice and did a great job. He drove straight through and my car arrived in good condition. Great communication between the driver and us.

No good they where not contacting drivers asking to pick up my car like they said they where in the emails. They just simply post it on a board and wait for a driver to contact them.

Good communication throughout. Picked up car on day we requested and dropped off a day early! Driver Mike was easy to work with. Would use again if I need car transport service. Great job!

Montway and the carrier were very professional, prompt and communicative. I was pleased with their service and will use them again should the need arise.
