We lost all the finances that he had received from us. A job that is at most 30% done, the structure of the pool is almost 2 1/2 foot too high around the home. We cannot find a contractor to touch this job with all the incomplete parts as well as not done to the right levels.
Description of Work: Chris Zumbahlin (company owner) heard through a friend that we were in the process of installing an inground pool. He received my husbands name and really worked us over. He was certain he wanted to take his business to a new direction from landscaping to Lagoon Pools. He was going to give us the best deal of the season just so he could "use" our pool as showcase pool for future business opportunities. We began by paying out 1/2 of the complete pool cost before he even broke ground. During the first 4 mos, the contractor he put on our job would only work half days in great weather as he never had a game plan from Chris himself as to what the next move is. This gentleman quit and we were given another contractor who would time and time share that he has no idea what the next move is. He is always attempting to get in touch with Chris himself. Once he quit, he sent twin 20 year olds who have had NO experience at all in pool instalation to my home. All while Chris would pop in on our job for about 15 minutes once per month, if that!. NEVER answering our phone calls, and when he did, he was full of excuses (ex., weather, waiting on rock) However, we felt that we were so financially involved in it that when he would ask for more money we would continue to abide as we thought that this is the ONLY way to move forward. All along I was paying out side contractors that he would charge and never pay. They would begin to show up at my door. At the end of the day, 7 mos later, Chris's workers returned to pick up material/skitzer and trailer. The trailer was unobtainable so the workers were able to vacate the items in the trailer. This was his way of "walking off the job" Never had a discusion with us regarding this day... We now sit 6 mos later with a concrete hole in our ground, boulders/rocks draped all over our yard and standing water at the bottom. Not at all safe for my family with 3 children, 2 who cannot swim. We have even contacted his insurance who does not seem to want to have any discussion with us. We did have written contract, even a 2nd written contract that we had our own attorney draw up. Here we sit $65,000 later and we are not able to pursue legality due to his company being on the verge of bankrupt and him not "owning" material/equipment. At this point I am EXHAUSTED by what he has done to my family for the past year. I just hope that anyone willing to use him do their homework and please reach out to my family @ 217-714-4428. I cannot say how much grief this contractor/company has caused us. All my savings were dwindled away by an empty promise of his pipe dream. The fact that he has never contacted us via phone just shows his cowardness.
