Golden Fence

We have used Golden Fence a few times and each time I am never disappointed. They are professional, know their craft and will answer any and all questions you may have. Jose was out here today and completed the job in no time. Polite and did stellar work. Giovanni is excellent with his customer service and responds very quickly to any calls or emails. I purchased a 200' aluminum fence for my backyard from Golden Fence and they were a fantastic company to work with. Octavio handed the design, price quote, and installation. Excellent communication throughout entire process. He worked to reduce the price as much as possible, while still achieving the design and features that I desired. During installation, the crew worked hard doing the little things to make the fence "just right" - including installing a six inch wide piece of fence so my dog could not squeeze through one odd place. Even more important, when I had an issue a month later (my lawn guy completely broke one of the gates), Octavio and Golden Fence got it fixed very quickly for a fair price. Highly recommend!

I had waited a long time to hire someone to complete this project due to costs. I was so happy I hired this company to install the fencing. They were pleasant and polite to work with and they answered all of the questions I had. They never took advantage of my ignorance. I am so pleased with the outcome of this project. I have rehired them already to install a gate as well, which I can not wait for! I would highly recommend them to other people.

They do excellent work. Fence was done well. Installers were competent and quick, but were not good communicators. Drawings by the estimator had one obvious error. Instead of asking me about the error, they installed it incorrectly. I questioned it later, but installers were very defensive and not willing to fix the problem. After appealing to management, another crew came and fixed the problem. I think the supervisor was Gonzalez. One terrific guy and he “bent over backwards” to make me happy. Golden Fence is tops in my book now!!

After completion of our new in-ground pool we contacted two local fence contractors for bids on a new ornamental pool fence. We elected to go with Golden Fence because they promised our fence would be installed within 3-4 weeks, the other contractor was 4-5 weeks. Both fence companies used the same fence manufacturer, with same quality product. Golden Fence was actually slightly more money for the exact same fence, but we chose them because they assured us fence would be installed within 3-4 weeks, they even wrote this in our contract. After we signed their paperwork and made a 50% deposit, we never heard from them, so when 4 weeks had past and no communication, I finally called them. I spoke to Giovannie about my displeasure with their company. He assumed reason for hold up was probably due to fence material not being delivered yet, but he would investigate. The next day I find out material was indeed in, but no one bothered to call or set up a time to install. Now I was informed it could be another 2 weeks before they could install, as they were behind. I angrily told them this was unacceptable as they had promised, (and my contracted stated) fence would be installed in 3-4 weeks, which we were beyond already. Workers finally showed up at 5 1/2 weeks to install. When their truck arrived it was so poorly loaded that several of my fence sections were damaged. I also found that one of my gates was the wrong size, Giavannie tried to argue that I ordered it wrong, but their proposal ended up proving otherwise, that it was indeed their mistake. Installers spoke little English so it was very difficult to communicate with them. They were provided poor tools for installation, they actually had to dig all post holes by hand. I informed them it was very important that the back section of my fence was to be installed level, which they claimed to understand. When I came home I found back section of fence was a mess, totally uneven and clearly not level. The only way to effectively communicate with them about this problem was through Giavannie, I would have to speak to him by phone and he would relay message back by phone in Spanish to his installers. This was very frustrating as his installers tried to convince Giavannie that they felt it was impossible to level the fence, which was clearly untrue. Giavannie even tried to convince me it was impossible to install any fence level. I told him all along it was fine with me if there were spaces under fence as my landscapers had not finished final soil grade yet, so they could indeed install fence level and I would have landscapers fill in any gaps under fence with more soil. Giovannie claimed he was too busy to come inspect current job, but he never offered to send out another supervisor. I had to pull a string, place a level and show his installers how to install fence level. Concrete for the posts they installed were already setting up but they all assured me it would be fine to move posts so fence would become level. Turns out this was incorrect as some posts settled and my fence today is uneven and looks unprofessional. My fence did not pass county inspection. Golden Fence did come back to fix the county's issues so fence would finally pass, but it took 2 or 3 attempts. I have hired a lot of service contractors over the years, and my experience has taught me to lower my expectations and expect problems. However, there were just too many problems with Golden Fence to ever consider recommending them to others.

We are very happy with their performance. The fence is exactly what they said I would get. They were delayed by the manufacturer about 3 days, but once they got all the material they were able to finish the job within the day.

They were great, they came when I asked and very very prompt. They worked around our schedules. We were really satisfied with the company. I would absolutely recommend them.

Giovanni was very punctual and fair. They installed my fence 8 years ago and it is still beautiful. This is the only problem I have had, just one post rotted at the ground level. They do great custom work for a really fair price and it’s quality. Thanks Giovanni!

It went great.

I have worked with Golden Fence for over 15 years - first as the President of a homeowner's association in Mundelein, and now with my house in McHenry. Golden Fence installed all wood perimeter fencing at the subdivision in Mundelein, along with several concrete and driveway replacements. On my new property in McHenry, they installed chain-link fencing and my daughter's house across the street. Just this last week, they completed a new brick sidewalk and porch with steel railings that I absolutely love. I have always been very satisfied with the service and work.

It took a couple reschedulings to get them here for the job, but that was the only downside. Everything else was fabulous: work, efficiency, price. Couldn't be happier.

Quick and professional

They were very good. Excellent Quality and pleasant to work with. They did what they promised. Once they got the supplies in, it was done in a day. It's not a simple as, you know. The job took a day. They came in, they said they were going to come on a Tuesday. They came on a Tuesday. They put the concrete in and waited the proper amount of time we were supposed to. So I think they came back the next day and put in the actual wrought iron fencing. We had to wait. It probably took 2 or 3 weeks to get the motor so the put the actual gate in and we just kept it open. Then they came an installed the apparatus to open and close it. We got a little key pad so if someone comes and where not here to let them in, they can use the key pad to get in.

Great. They were easy to work with. When the gate malfunctioned they were out the next day to fix it.

They were the only company out of 20 different companies I called that would install a fence I purchased elsewhere. They were prompt and the price was reasonable. I did have to have them come back and replaced one panel that was damaged, which they did very responsively.

It was an awesome experience to work with these guys and they did a great job!

Golden Fence installed a cedar fence on 7/28/2014. The contract included a 2yr. workmanship warranty for unforeseen problems. After the 1st. Winter (2014), all the gates (3) would no longer "latch" due to shifting of the posts. It took several calls to get that corrected. We erroneously accepted that issue as an anomaly. After the second winter (2015), at least 9 posts lifted out of the ground (heaved). After over two months and several emails and calls, starting April 21st, Golden Fence has not responded to our request to fix the fence.
