I phoned Nick on a Saturday. Left him a voicemail. I thought I'd hear back from him on Monday, but he returned my call within ten minutes. We arranged for him to pick the laptop up Monday morning from my home. He called (I think it was the next day) with his diagnosis, cost estimate and target completion date. He called on the target completion date to apologize for not being able to return it as promised; the parts had not yet arrived. I told him not to worry about a few more days. He performed an extra service before returning the laptop the following week. The final cost was consistent with the estimate.
Description of Work: The cord to one of my laptops would not connect to the jack; it was a shaky connection. The laptop is about ten years old, but had sentimental photos on it (shame on me for not having a backup). Nick picked the laptop up, gave an estimate with cost, repair and time. His cost estimate was accurate and called when he wasn't able to meet the time estimate. I wasn't in a rush to get the laptop back so the delay wasn't an issue; it had been out of commission for over a year, what's a few more days. My husband spoke with Nick more than I did and met him in person on the pick-up and return. Overall, he's straightforward and strikes me as trustworthy. I'll keep his name and number and recommend him to friends. Nick replaced the jack and the cord and then performed a clean up on the drive. I'm not a super-tech, so my venacular is weak.

Everything was done as promised and was a pleasant experience. Very easy to work with and explained the problems in a clear manner.
Description of Work: Was having several problems with my IMac and previously had this serviced through an Apple dealer but the problem recurred but the work was out of warranty. I located Zeep's through Angies list and was very satisfied with the reviews. After speaking with Nick on the phone, he came to my residence the following day, explained the problem and took my computer back to his shop for repair. Nick called me the same afternoon and explained that there were several software conflicts that caused the problems and he would return the following morning. He showed up on time, hooked up the computer and I was very satisfied with the results. He explained again what work was done, gave some additional advice and the price was as quoted. Definitely would recommend Nick to my friends.

We hired Nick to fix an iMac that we use for all of our family photos and videos. We weren't sure of the exact problem, but I explained to Nick what was going on and he told me he could certainly fix it up. When we spoke, Nick gave me an estimate of what he thought the repairs would cost and also gave me a max, 'not-to-exceed' cost. The quote sounded reasonable, so we made an appointment with him. Nick picked up the Mac the next day at my office (yes, he picks up and delivers your computer) and by that evening had e-mailed me with what he thought was going on and how he was going to fix it. He also gave me a timeframe on how soon he would be able to get the computer back to me. He would have delivered it the next day, but the memory he needed to install did not get delivered until the following day. Still, only 2-days to diagnose, repair and return the Mac to us. On top of that, he delivered it to my house. So, yes, picked up at my office and delivered to my house. Ridiculously good customer service. If I had to give one negative on Nick, he's probably too honest. He quoted me a price to fix my computer and then ended up charging me less than he said. That never happens! What's more is that we have now had the computer back 2 weeks and, with the additional memory added, is running faster than it did when we first bought it. So, not only is this guy great at what he does, but he's honest, timely and just a really, nice guy on top of it. So, stop reading the reviews now and call this guy. He will make sure your experience was as pleasant as ours.
Description of Work: We have a 6-year old Apple iMac that had slowed to a crawl and needed to be restored to its original conditional. Nick repaired the harddrive and added additional memory. This was probably one of the best service experiences I have ever had. As such, I will be upset if you don't choose Nick for your computer repair needs!

I called Nick and left a message about my main computer and what I wanted done. He called me back within an hour. While talking about my problem, I mentioned the second computer. Nick said he would give me a $25 discount for the second computer. Nick offered me a choice of him coming to my house and working on the computers for $85 an hour or if I could give them to him to work at his place at a cost would be about hundred $150-200 per computer. I agreed to have Nick work on them at his place. Finding viruses can take hours. We arranged to meet near a mutually convenient place and I gave him my computers and my external hard drives. The next the next day Nick called and told me that the second computer was completed. He fixed the viruses and got everything set up for me. unfortunately, the main computer's hard drive was going bad so I needed a whole new hard drive. Nick was able to order one for me but I had to wait a few days for it. So here we are a week later. Nick installed new hard drive. He also installed Microsoft office for me and reinstalled some Photoshop software. He got everything up and running and he set up an automatic backup for me on my external hard drives. Everything is working just fine. Nick went out of his way to ensure both of my computers were working to my expectations. I will definitely call Nick again. As a matter of fact, I am making a list of things for him to do at my house sometime soon.
Description of Work: Nick worked on two computers for me. One I was ready to toss in the garbage because of viruses etc. The other had viruses and was sluggish. I also had to two external hard drives I had trouble connecting to the second computer.

After purchasing a new Nikon digital camera for my son, he was very frustrated when for some reason his computer would not download the Nikon software for downloading the pictures from the camera to the computer. After trying everything we could think of, we contacted Nick as he was well rated on Angie's. He responded and came out the house very quickly and got the camera program working properly.
Description of Work: My disabled son's computer needed would not download software from a disk the way it is supposed to. He was unable to download Nikon software for a new camera. Nick fixed the problem and a few others that he found.

We have used Zepp's Computer Service several times throughout the years and have never found fought with his credibility or service. He's always upbeat, fair in pricing and when we receive our computers back running like new. In this instance there were several viruses hidden in the laptop's system and he also eliminated unnecessary programs that were running in the background. The laptop is now running great and we got it back in 24 hours! I don't know how he does it but we are never left waiting forever to receive our computers back in working order.
Description of Work: We have an old laptop that was running verrry slow. I knew that something was wrong but after trying to remedy the problem myself I contacted Nick and told him what the problem I was experiencing.

My computer crashed and I was unable to get anything on my screen. I called Nick and he called me back within 60 minutes. He picked up my machine, did the repair, and helped me install a new printer. I was on a deadline and Nick returned my computer to me in 24 hours. For his expertise, knowledge and helpfulness, he is more than reasonably priced. When Nick calls, he tells you what time(s) he has available to help you based on his current clientele commitment. Nick comes within 5-10 minutes of when he says he'll arrive. Nick is easy to work with, listens to what you tell him, explains what he's going to do, explains how much it will cost and when he will be able to complete the job for you. For me, he charged what his estimate was; in other words, he doesn't estimate one cost and charge another. Earlier this year, I had a problem with my printer and Nick came over and helped me so that I could get a few more months out of the 20 year old LaserJet. He is a gem, I absolutely recommend him and I would not hesitate to call him again. Karen

I drove to meet Nick and gave him the computers, etc. That night he told me what he had found, basically he was able to fix everything, recover my lost data, which included many pictures I was afraid I had lost. He discussed the options of buying new vs rebuilding and keeping existing. The cost of the work he had done and to move all the data off of the three hard drives to an external hard drive would have been in the $400 - $500, plus the cost of two new computers. I decided that saving the computers was the best path.It took a couple of days to get the parts and install them. We have had the computers back for a couple of weeks and they work better than ever. What a relief! Nick is who I want to work on my computers; he can do just about anything that needs to be done. More importantly I can trust him to give me an honest assessment of my options. I had been to two other "experts" I got from Angie's list who did nothing to fix the computers. Basically they said I needed new computers and they knew someone who could do the hard drive recovery but it would cost at least $650 and could be a lot more. The other computer guys seemed to want to come in and run some diagnostics, hit a few key strokes and move on to the next job. One of them told me my exhaust fan did not work. I reminded him that I told him that when he called, his reply was that most of his customers do not understand their computers and he really did not give my words much credence. Nice.I have Nick now though, one less thing to worry about.

The job went very well, as the owner is very savvy about theneeds of small businesses; I am very impressed with that. In my job he also exhibited a great deal of patience, explained several things with which I was unfamiliar. I was also grateful for his follow up after the job was complete, to be sure everything was operating. I had not experienced that professionalism before.
Description of Work: This young man eradicated a very nasty virus. He cleaned my computer and returned it earlier than originally promised. He then installed new software and instructed me in how to operate it. He followed up twice in the following days to be sure everything was working smoothly.

My office computer developed a nasty virus that I had no clue on how to repair or fix. It circumvented all of the anti virus software I had and I was dead in the water. I called Nick, explained the situation and he made time for me that day even though he had a tight schedule. He took the computer with him so he could run a comprehensive set of diagnostics on the computer and told me he would have it back to me before 3 P.M. the next day. Well, at 8:30 A.M. the next morning Nick called, told me he fixed the computer and would be dropping it off at 10 A.M.! He knew that the computer is tied directly to my business (income!!!) and he did a great job getting it fixed ASAP. He also performed a few other tasks on other company computers that other tech guy's didn't even suggest or pick up on. Nick has earned my business in the future and I will be referring him to ALL of my clients. Great service, fair pricing and h*** of a nice guy. If you use his services I am confident you will not be disappointed.

I had a Dell laptop running Windows Vista which I think is the worst operating system ever. So I decided it was time to upgrade and I bought a HP laptop with all the bells and whistles from a television shopping network. Its performance right out of the box was poor. It took forever for any app to open and when I was online, it took about 30 seconds to open an email. Rather than go through the hassle of sending it back, I took it to someone (other than Nick) to have it tuned up. When I got it back, it performed fine for about a week but then the performance began to degrade again. I got so frustrated I stuck it a closet and upgraded my old Dell to Windows 7 and it performed beautifully, like I had expected the brand new HP to perform. So since I now had a working computer, I sort of forgot about the HP in the closet for a couple of months. Then I decided to try again to salvage it. So I called Nick and explained the problem. Nick picked up the pathetic HP and took it away with a promise to do everything he could to breathe life back into the thing. I didn’t get my hopes up because me and the HP had a very rocky relationship up until then. But the very next day Nick called and told me that it was working better than new. He said that it probably had issues out of the box, but that the first guy I took it to pretty much trashed it. I have to admit that I was very surprised to hear that the HP had been resuscitated. Nick said he would drop it off in the next couple of hours. When I got the HP back, I didn’t even fire it up for a couple of days because I was afraid of being disappointed again. But finally I decided to check it out. I could not believe that it was the same computer. It took way less time for it to boot up, the apps opened like they should and my email opened instantaneously. I just kept opening and closing stuff to make sure I wasn’t imagining the stellar performance. All I have to say is that Nick is my IT guy for life. If you are in the market for an IT guy, I absolutely recommend Nick. Not only is he very good at what he does, he is a genuinely nice guy.

Nick is our go-to guy for computer repair, and he proved again why he holds that position with us with our recent computer virus. A nasty virus took over our laptop, making it impossible to go on the Internet at 9 p.m. Aug. 16. I immediately sent an e-mail to Nick via another computer, and by 8:30 a.m. Aug. 17, he called us, and by 9:30 a.m., he had the computer in his car for fixing. By 8:30 a.m. Aug. 18, he called to say he had spent 6 hours working on the computer, describing the serious nature of the virus, how the virus had been lurking for some time and what he did to remove the virus. He was ready to drop off the laptop within 30 minutes, if that was possible. It was! When we contacted Nick, I explained how we needed the computer back quickly as it held classroom lessons that I needed to start the school year. He certainly did that, and now our computer is virus free and running beautifully. I hope I don't have to call Nick for awhile, but he will be the person I call when there is trouble with our computers.

We initially contacted Nick about performing a minor repair to our laptop, but were so impressed with his professionalism and level of customer service that we asked him to clean and upgrade both of our laptops. He was very responsive, extremely friendly and helpful, came to our home to pick up and return the laptops, stayed within the estimate, kept us posted on his progress, and explained all the technical stuff in a way that was easy to understand but not condescending. I actually learned things about computers that I did not know before. He also got us great deals on the parts. The improved performance of our laptops was noticeable, and we are able to put off having to buy a new computer. Also, when Nick learned my wife needed her laptop back quickly for a class, he made sure we had the laptop back before she actually needed it. After that first experience, we hired Nick to take our other laptop. If you're not technically inclined and do not feel comfortable doing your laptop repairs and tuneups, I would recommend Nick.
Description of Work: We hired Nick to work on two laptops, one a Dell and the other a Toshiba. Service included a minor repair on one, and upgrades and cleaning of both. The repair involved replacement of a DC jack. Upgrades included cleaning and increased memory. The price also included a diagnostic of both computers.The Toshiba also received a new battery, and the Dell had a virus removed.

Great experience. Nick picked up the phone when I called him originally. We set an appointment for my next available time. He arrived right on time and started working by reviewing with me my specific computer issues. I had quite a list of questions, some related only to one of my computers, some related to all computers, some related to the network. Nick waited to hear a description of the problem I was having before exploring answers to it. I felt I was being heard and I felt that my real concern would be given his full attention, rather than having him start off trying to answer a question that didn't matter. At the start of the work Nick explained how his billing worked and we agreed to his corporate-rate of $95/hour. I felt I got great value for that, as he was working on all three computers simultaneously and really making great efforts to not be simply milking me for as many hours as possible. At the end of his time here, he had me get out the list of questions we started with and we checked them off one-by-one to make sure everything I cared about had been handled. He welcomed email and phone follow-up if any trouble came up and gave me advice about how to keep my current equipment working longer so that I wouldn't waste any money on unneeded equipment upgrades. Unlike other IT professionals I've had come help at my company, I didn't see Nick refer to any manuals while he was here. He fixed all of the issues on my list simply as a result of his knowledge and experience. That made the fee I paid him worth it. I probably could have found someone less capable who would have charged less per hour, but then I would have had to spend more of my time finding manuals and software discs for my computers...or listening to some person say how their still trying to find the answer on Google or whatever. I didn't have to do anything for that. Sign me up for the easiest way to solve a problem - and that's what Nick did. Great experience.
Description of Work: Three computers on my office network were updated for current software; network setup was fixed to allow proper printer and file sharing again; ACT database was repaired to allow scripts I use in the program to work correctly; anti-virus program was updated with a new program which resulted in measurably improved response times on my computers. Also reviewed all processes there were running in the background of each of my computers, eliminating the ones that were unnecessary which again helped improve my computers' performance.

I called Nick. He was very affable and overly gregarious. I explained the problem, he acknowledged the problem. We made an appointment. He came and tried to download an update. It got hungup, as it did for me on a few occasions. And when I couldn't repair it, I unplugged the computer. Since he is a professional, he chose to not wait when he saw that it hung up for him because updates take several hours, he did NOT want to charge me, so he accepted the one hr. fee of $80 by check and told me to call him when the update was complete, and if not complete, obviously call him so that he could repair the problem. The following day in the A.M., the computer was in the hangup format, so I called Nick and he said he would come out and help me, but he was busy, so he would make an appointment w/ me, but he would have to charge me for another call, even though he had said during his first trip, that since he didn't do anything of any consequence, other than start a download, that he wouldn't cash the check of $80. Then he turns around and contradicts the statement he made face-to-face eyeball-to -eye that he wouldn't cash the check b/c he didn't do anything. It seems to me that I'm going to be paying $160 for, thus far, no help. He made sure to tell me that if I have any problems, to call him because he's there for me. Charging $160 for no help thus far, doesn't sound like he's really there for me, but rather he's there for himself. People such as Nick, should not be on Angie's List to start with, because they are, in their gregarious talk, deceptive. The lowest grades that I can give on Angie's List are not low enough.

I never cashed this mans check and never charged him $160 for that matter. He was angry from the because his last IT guy messed his up. I gave him an hour and 20 minutes of onsite support and 1 hour of attempted remote support in which Ibilled $80 (and I will never cash this check). I even did work on his other laptop. I could not get it to work through his old web browsers. I called him to offer more assistance and was met with insults and now this horrible review (He posted this review before expressing his dissatisfaction to me on email or phone) I have helped hundreds of people who are more then satisfied with my work. I will grow from this experience at the very least. Thanks for your time. UPDATE: Found out this man died back in 2013. I believe he was suffering from Dementia. He was an engineer and I remember having a great conversation with him about his work. I have never seen such a nice person totally flip within a short period of time. It is very sad to witness. My condolences to his family

Nick is the epitome of what customer service should be. He keeps you informed at every turn. It's rare to find an entrepreneur that is very focused on the customer. He seems to really care about his clients and the computer problems they are having. He explains the situation in a "non-geek" way that us non-geeks can understand. You won't go wrong trusting your computer issues to Nick. Also, when he does a good job for you, give him a tip. His prices are well worth the money and a tip never hurts.
Description of Work: Due to a power outage, my computer was fried. I called Nick and left a message. He returned the call within a couple of hours. Nick came and picked up the hard drive and ran some diagnostics and let me know within 24 hours that he was unable to repair it, which is what I thought originally. He then gave me a couple of recommendations for replacement computers and I took his advise.

It went well. NIck came to our house on time, professional and polite. He recommended some back-up products, PC manufacturers and retailers. Because Nick was punctual and professional there was no drama, and so, no long story to tell. He seems to know his business well, an affable young man who has his customer's interests at heart.
Description of Work: Nick diagnosed failed computer. Recommended replacement rather than repair due to cost. On purchase of new computer, Nick restored all the data from the old PC (our main concern), and added the old hard drive to the new PC.

Nick was very honest with what was wrong and what could be fixed with the computer. Apple does not service the G5 anymore and having Nick available was great. He fixed it and pretty much explained the limitations with our computer since its so old and what program to avoid. We will eventually need to get a new computer and Nick says he also offers services to transfer the files from old to new and if we have questions while shopping we can call and he will help.
Description of Work: Our Apple Mac Pro G5 was running one minute and then locked up. Would not load after multiple attempts. Nick came and picked it up on a saturday and monday morning was explaining the problem. Used the system disc to restart and got rid of corrupted programs.

I was able to connect to the internet but the problem was setting up the router 'security incripted password'. I wasted hours reading manuals and technical assistance info. Everything that I tried failed and I finally gave up. I phoned Zepp?s and set an appointment. Nick arrived promptly and accomplished the task quickly. In addition, Nick resolved some other computer issues for me while staying within the one hour window. In conclusion, I was completely satisfied and got plenty for my money.
