THe job was done very well. The building is nearly 100 years old which caused several challenges such as a difference is sizes of ceramic tiles, but the finished product is good. He was punctual and professional. We would use Andy again.

Very nice person, but his price/hr is very high. I would recommend getting a firm estimate before agreeing to a job.

It was hardly what you'd call a complicated project; Andy was professional, friendly, quick, competent, and clean in picking up after himself.

Andy was extremely accomodating. I'm not sure if this is common, but he agreed to come at 7 am to accomodate my busy schedule. He explained everything very well, and was very clear about what needed to be done, what he could do himself, and what he needed to send out to more specialized people. He's now helping me knock out a huge chunk of my list of to-dos on an old (but new to me) house.

Dan did a great job in showing us what was going on with the toilet, and also mentioned that there could be additional problems to watch out for in case his replacement of the wax ring did not fix the leaking. Hopefully this will not be the case, but good to be made aware of future issues. After he fixed the toilet Dan installed a new, fixed dryer vent to replace our old flexible one. Andy had recommended this, as the flex vent can lead to a dryer fire. Dan did a nice job on the vent, and also answered a lot of questions I had about water heaters. He was very well informed on water heaters, installation, and issues that would have to be addressed with venting. Dan is a real HVAC expert and it was helpful to get his advice before I go shopping for a new water heater. I'll definitely have them do the installation.

Andy looked at all the items I needed fixed. He discussed my options. He did great work in a clean, efficient fashion. Nice guy.

Andy was amazingly efficient. He quickly assesses the problem/task and completes his work with remarkable speed. Frankly, I was amazed. He's smart, personable, and fair. He will be doing more work for me in the near future.

Andy is a very professional handyman. He showed up on time on both occasions that he was providing service. He did the work as requested and cleaned up after himself. The work itself was done carefully and efficiently. He also pointed out and made recommendations as to improvements. For example, the water pressure on the bathroom sink where he installed the faucet is low so he suggested removing a piece of the faucet to improve the pressure. He also pointed out that the contractor who built my garage failed to install a piece where the roof shingles meet the eaves that could cause water to rot the wood. I would definitely recommend Andy to anyone who needs a good handyman.

Andy was great to work with. Quick to respond to my inquiry and arrived right on schedule. He was very detail oriented and suggested several improvements.

FABULOUS.Andy was on time and is everything all other comments you see say and more.He is a fair,honest person with integrity.He was calm as I jumped from one project need to the next and is honest about what he does and if it is something he does not do,gives a referral to someone else who is reliable. This is the person I have wished for every time we needed some house improvement done,and he is a breath of fresh air!

Andy was prompt and very professional but yet approachable. He has a very nice manner both on the phone and in person. There are many small projects I need done but we could only cover a couple of them in the 4 hour window I had hired him for. The door leading to the bedroom was a bigger job than I would have thought but Andy explained everything to me so I completely understood what had to be done. He explained how he was going to drywall the short wall and suggested improvements to the area to make it look more attractive. I would have just stuck a piece of drywall up but Andy put attention to the details and made the finished job look great. Andy also suggested that the back gates to our yard could be fixed to close and open better and on his trip to the hardware store, he purchased the hinges to fix them. He is also making a storm window for a bedroom window and I'm confident that it will be perfect.

It went very well. Andy was very professional and did a fine job. We would hire him again and recommend him.

Andy was very good about keeping us informed about when he was coming. He was very prompt. He is very careful in his work. He is careful about always cleaning up.

He was not able to do some work that I thought was in the handyman category.

We needed to have our shower stall caulked as we noticed a small leak of water on the first floor.We contacted Andy Sjostrom, The Good Handyman, through Angis's list. He returned my call within an hour and an appointment was set up for the following week. An email was received that day from his company confirming the appointment and listed his fees He arrived on time, looked at what needed to be done and told me what he would be doing to solve the situation. When the work was finished he cleaned up the work area completely. Andy has a very pleasant and friendly manner and we would call him again if we need a handyman.

Andy arrived at the exact time promised. He was very thorough. He did quality work and explained everything clearly. We already have a second visit scheduled. It's a pleasure to work with someone who acts so professionally and responsibly.

The previous autumn a woodpecker had drilled a tennis-ball-sized hole in a vertical piece of wood between two windows on the second floor of my house. But by early in the spring, the hole had quadrupled in size and other birds and squirrels were seen using it. Andy was able to schedule a visit about two weeks after I called. Over the phone, he gave me a verbal estimate based on the described problem and fully explained how he would calculate his fee. He arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently, even putting quick two coats of paint on the new wood. He did charge for the time it took to go to a nearby lumber yard to purchase the wood, but he made it a quick trip.

Andy was very responsive when I first contacted him, quickly provided a time to come to my house, was punctual, friendly and knowledgeable. His work was done well, and he will be coming back to finish up a few projects and do a few new ones.

WOULD "HIGHLY RECCOMEND" VERY PROFESSONAL EXELLENT WORKMANSHIP GAVE ME OPTIONS THAT WERE LESS $$$.ANDY SPENT 8 HOURS WORKING MY WIFE AND I OFFERED HIM A SANDWICH OR SOMETHING TO DRINK ALL HE WANTED WAS A GLASS OF WATER THAT HE DIDN'T DRINK UNTIL MOST OF THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. HE ALSO WENT INTO GREAT DETAIL ON HOW WE SHOULD DO SOME PAINTING WE PLAN ON DOING OURSELVES WHEN WE ASKED FOR HIS ADVISE.ANDY IS PERSONABLE CLEAN(TAKES OFF SHOES AS ENTERING HOME) HARD WOKING AS HE HAD TO SCALE UP TO OUR 4TH FLOOR WALK UP. WOULD RECCOMEND TO MY BEST FRIEND OR ANYBODY.

This was Andy's 3rd job for us and it went exactly as we had hoped. Andy did the work himself and was punctual and thorough in his efforts. Like his other work for us, Andy approached this project with an eye on detail. His finished carpentry looked very professional and was immediately ready for painting. The final work looks great.

The fan needed parts that had to be special ordered and shipped in 3 different batches(partly from the manufacturer and partly from a distributor)so it was not totally straightforward. The job took two visits-one to diagnose the problem and the other to fix the fan.

Andy came and did a walk through my old house to discuss my long list of to do's/concerns. He told me what work he could do, had recommendations about repairs that needed to be done, and if it was beyond his capabilities, he was very upfront about it. He was the great home inspector I wish I had to walk me through when we purchased our house 5 years ago(and didn't have a very good home inspector). After that, he re-caulked our tub/shower, which was leaking and did a fantastic job, going above and beyond what we were even expecting. Once he removed the old caulk, he tested the water to make sure that there wasn't a more serious problem with the plumbing. Andy also recommended adding vertical tub trim(not sure what they're called)to prevent water from running out of the tiled area onto our bead board which runs right up next to the tub.

Andy was very prompt and my tenant was very impressed that he removed his shoes before entering the house. We had hired another guy who tracked mud into the house. I hired Andy to replace some dry wall that had gotten wet due to a leak that I thought was from a badly flashed chimney. Andy deduced quickly that something else was going on and recommended someone else to take a look at the chimney which he felt was probably not properly lined or capped. I set up an appointment with this other guy who specializes in chimneys and flues and feel like I am finally getting some good advice about this situation. We'll see if this other guy works out, but at least Andy told me honestly that he didn't think that fixing the stained dry wall would solve anything and would get stained again anyway. The guy before him just patched it and didn't bother to check these other possibilities. Andy had made a list of things to work on other than the dry wall when I arrived at the scene. He showed me a couple of things that needed to be fixed and weren't up to code. I was very impressed with Andy's professionalism and work ethic. Since I had him for two hours he re-caulked the bathtub and as I said, did a very good job.
