The upgrade to wirelesss was expensive. I have had conflicting advice about whether or not I need a hard wired keypad along with the wireless keypad. I did not receive a straight answer from the installer, the repairman, or the sales person, although the sales person was going to look into it for me. She has been responsive to me, but admitted she has had little experience with the wireless keypads. The installer said I could move the wireless keypad around my house, but the repairman said I should leave it where the installer put it. I'm not sure who has the answers. They seem to be satisfied that it is working now, but I am wondering how long it will continue to work.

We asked them and Brinks to come in to get a quote. Our sales rep. was very "sales reppy", and tried to convince us not to get a quote from Brinks (whereas the guy from Brinks urged us to call him after we called ADT). He gave us what he said was the best possible price with a USAA discount...but when we called him and said we decided to go with Brinks and that they managed to match his offer, he magically found a way to go down in price. Ultimately, we took the many complaints on BBB and the failure to guarantee a fixed monthly fee into consideration when we opted for Brinks instead.

We worked with Bob. He was professional and prompt. While we definitely felt we were getting "the pitch," he seemed overall pretty honest and brought the price down to compete with another company's. We ultimately decided to go with Brinks due to their customer service reputation compared with the other company. We have had to contact them a few times due to minor issues with the installation (e.g. the door sensor was not correctly reading whether the door was open or closed), but they have always been prompt in their response. For us, it's worth it to use them rather than the other company, both for piece of mind and because their monthly fee is guaranteed to stay, whereas the other company's was not.

Set up appointment easily after working out details of the package over the phone. I downloaded list of equipment and options in advance so I had some idea what to ask. Installer arrived on time and system was installed and working within an hour or so. Advice: The control panel must be located convenient to both a power outlet and a telephone jack. This unit was installed in an existing home, so only a couple of spots were appropriate. In new construction you might have more flexibility.

The rep then gave the piece of paper that stated that I could cancel the 3 year contract, if I chose to, within the next three work days (i.e. by midnight on 12/22.) That was the first mention of a fixed length contract. A nasty contract at that: I could not cancel it for any reason, even if the house was sold or burned down. On the other hand, ADT could cancel if their facility burned down or was otherwise incapacitated Canceling wasn't easy. The sales rep did not have a working fax. His main office lists a fax on their business card, but the line was disconnected. The only positive side of the experience was that the rep, when I reached him, promised me that he would return the contract originals to me by mail. True to his word, he did. Good, but there was no way for me to know that he would act as honestly as he did. A company with such a decrier contract as ADT should not be trusted in my opinion.

Claims working system is not part of contract. Lied about checking to see if system was working after test came back that it wasn't. Refused to show up to fix system at a time convenient. Won't allow contract cancellation. Claims contract obligates me to pay for service for 3 yrs but does not require them to provide service during that period.

They installed the alarm system over 10 years ago. We don't use them much because the alarm is mostly off. I believe this is a good service. The safety in our house is a priority. They make you feel safe.

What I like about them is that they are the biggest alarm company around and that makes them very reliable. I have no idea how much we pay because my wife takes care of the bill. They are very good at what they do.

I haven't had anything happen so far with any break-ins or anything, so they are good. They are accurate and responsive to any calls or questions that I do have however. I am satisfied with them and the price is low.

I have actually had services with ADT since I have moved in my home. They have been wonderful. I have never had any problems or anything like that. I also have fire protection with them and they charge me monthly for the entire service.

ADT offers many different options for security. They even have a motion detector that still allows any animals in your home to move around freely. They are set up to contact the police if we do not respond with the correct password.

ADT has been great so far. I haven't had to call them about anything. They will call if something is going on with our alarm. We wanted a company who would be quick to respond if anything major ever happened here and we feel pretty confident that ADT will be able to live up to our expectations from what we have experienced with them so far.

I did not think that ADT was that great to be honest. My alarm went off one time and they never called. Also, they even upgraded the panels and never even told me. I just did not find them to be very professional. I guess they were okay, but I have found another company to monitor my alarm system.

We pay them monthly and I would recommend them to other people. They are personable and professional as well. They are reliable and we have had no problems with them. The price is reasonable as well.

First off, I think that Brinks is much more versatile than another home security service. I never see them, but, if the alarm goes off, they will call me immediately. I pay them monthly to keep my services and it seems to be pretty fair. The minute that I turn the system off, they call right away. The panel is better than other home security services as well.

When the thing started beeping, I replaced the battery and it started beeping again. It was beginning to get really annoying. I did figure out most of the problem, but they still had to send out someone anyways. I must have called them six or eight times until I finally figured it out. I guess it was just a matter of them confirming it. That is why someone still had to come out. Well, it turned out that the battery was connected wrong. I still had to pay, but they were okay I guess.

Our daughter told me about Brinks. They work with you and do a payment plan and I like that. I could not tell you who on earth they compete with, but I can tell you that they're really good at what they do. They are responsive and I really like the fact that they work out a payment plan that workers for you as a family. Not all companies do that. I think they are excellent.

If I had to say something I don't like about them, it would be the fact that as they are a National Company, their workforce is calling all the time to offer to upgrade the service. I guess their price is fair.

From the start, it was fast, informative, easy to work with, and done as planned. Except for an exposed wire on one of the window sensors that they are coming back to fix, everything met and exceeded expectations. We have had one alarm go off (someone opened a garage service door by accident when the alarm was armed) and so we were able to test the response time of the monitoring service and the phone range within 20 seconds of the alarm sounding. They are great, and I would highly recommend. I used to have another alarm company and I found their installation better, neater, as well as less costly to purchase and less expensive in the overall monthly monitoring.

Joe Solomon, the Sales Rep with whom we worked, was very kind. He came to our home to review the current system and provide pricing information. He was very informative about the system and his own recommendations for security systems. He walked us through the process of how the re-installation would occur and provided the installation person with a detailed list. Joe sent us a thank-you note after the work was done.

The salesman was extremely knowledgeable and courteous and the price was competitive. The first date I was given for installation they were a no-show. The second date, the installer came as promised but he was not at all well trained and he had alot of difficulty and ended up not being able to finish the job (after being there 10 hours). The next installer they sent was great and corrected some mistakes and got everything completed quickly. The system itself has some flaws (loud siren before you type in your code when entering, usually it's just a beeping) but it is easy to use and I've only had one false alarm.

I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED BY HOW WELL THEY KNEW THE SYSTEM AND WERE ABLE TO ANSWER ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS. THEY SHOWED US HOW TO DO EVERYTHING WITH THE ALARM AND MADE SURE THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS BEFORE THEY LEFT.

Initially, ADT was quick to respond, but once we received their estimate and asked for a revision based on different products, we did not hear from them again. We ended up giving our business to one of their competitors.

ADT Security Systems had to send three technicians out on different occasions before the upgraded system functioned properly. While ADT certainly has a good product, all of its technicians do not have the same level of expertise.
