They had to reschedule the first install date due to extremely cold weather. On the day of the actual install it was only in the 20's but the four man crew worked quickly and efficiently, never once getting in each others way. Watching their craftsmanship in cutting and bending all the angles needed to install the outer aluminum trim in that cold weather was pretty impressive. Scott Morrison, my salesman, stopped by during the construction to make sure everything was going OK. I have used this company for three different projects including the installation of siding, exterior doors and all the windows in my house and have recomended them to family and friends.

Over all it went very well. We are very particular about how we want a job done. Jim Wilson is a good man to work with. He has patience with his clients and most importantly INTEGRITY. We had many projects to do on our house and when a problem would occur Jim was always on top of it and took care of it ASAP. In a big project like this, I would suggest that someone familiar with the house and the project be around too check the job after the days work. This way any issues can be taken care of as they come up. This really helped us so at the very end of the project there were only those few things on our punch list to check over. Even though the project took a little longer than we expected, overall it turned out way beyond our expectations. The details and workmanship of the job far surpass the many siding jobs that I have seen. Our house looks beautiful and hopefully this winter we will be able to tell you it is also much warmer.

Jim was very prompt in coming to look at our job to figure out what we needed to do and to give us an estimate. We had discovered a leak inside the house which had been traced to a crack in the cedar siding. He made excellent suggestions on how to replace the damaged area and on what we needed to replace so that everything would match. We then went all around the house and found other areas which needed to be replaced as well. We were very happy with his suggestions. When the crew came to work, not only did they do an excellent job, but they asked if we would like to replace the old vent covers for the dryer and stove vents, which they did. All the work they did was absolutely beautiful. If there was any glitch, it was in communication. Jim thought they would get to the job in a couple of weeks. I called on three different occasions to check on a potential start date. There had been a lot of rain in the spring, so many companies were running behind. The last time I called, I was told that they were probably going to start on August 10, but that Shannon the scheduler would call me back. Imagine our surprise when they showed up a week earlier and no one had called. The men were very apologetic, saying that it had been on there schedule for that day and they could not understand why we had not been told. While the office may be a problem, the extremely high quality of work makes up for it.

He's very responsive and he's even called me a couple of times.

They were very punctual. They did a very good job. There were some delays because of the weather but it wasn't their fault. The price was the same as quoted. If I had any questions or concerns they would answer me with no problems. It looks like a good quality job. I don't have any unresolved issues. They were very professional. They cleaned up well.

Everything smooth and professional, from first call to reception to final work. While looking at gutters, they also checked roof and gave suggestions and an estimate, but no hard sell. Very pleased with the installers work. They attended to the small details on their own, and made the job like a homeowner would want it.

4/12/08-appointment w/Jim Wilson; he was very professional and gave good suggestions. 4/21/08-signed contract and paid $14,000 deposit; received a confirmation saying that windows take 4-6 weeks. During the next few weeks someone came to measure windows and someone else came to assess the roof repair needed. 05/08-called to find out the status of our project; was told the windows were back-ordered and it would be the end of June. 6/24/08-left message at office asking when the project would be started. 6/26/08-office manager calls back saying the project will start mid-late July. 7/23/08-workers arrive and start repairing roof and installing gutters; are here for 2 days. Took down satellite dish with no warning so we have no TV for a week and we have to call DirecTV to put it back up. 7/28/08-after a few days with no updates or schedule, a message is left at the office asking when the windows will be installed. 08/08-first few days of August we call Jim on cell phone and receive a response that window installation will start 8/25. 8/22/08-painter/stainer comes to get sample of trim for staining but says he doesn't think he can finish by Monday 8/25/08. 8/25/08-window installers arrive with no confirmation call before hand; work continues over a few days. 8/28/08-Mr. Wilson arrives to inspect the work and collect final payment; there are still no grills in the windows, there's a piece of trim missing by the gutters and he's not satisfied with the job the window washers did. He says work will be finished Tuesday 9/2/08. 9/2/08-no one shows up or calls; I call office and later that week the grills are installed and trim repaired. 9/8/08-window washer comes again; work completed and final 10% is paid. All of the workers/installers were very polite and did excellent, professional work. The problem is with the communication with the company. There were never any updates of when the work would be started; phone calls were not always returned. Despite this, we would hire them again because the work was so good. Given the excellent reviews on Angies List we just didn't expect the lack of communication and length of time it took for the work to be done.

It took them a long time to come do the work. The gutters leaked where the were apart at. They would only take a message and they said they would get back to us later. It took them a long time to call us back.

I contacted Wilson Colonial to have them install a bay window in my kitchen. Working with Wilson Colonial was a satisfying experience. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The installers were very skilled, and the window looks great. They arrived exactly when they said they would and they made sure not to leave a mess behind when they were done. For the work that was done, the price was pretty reasonable. If I decide to have any other window work done, I would definitely use this group again.

This project was a long time in planning, the 30+ year old wood exterior of our home was shot in so many ways. And due to the cost and complexity of the project I had 6 different contractors out to bid on the work over a 12 month period. I got a wide range of prices and was discouraged by how they approached the project. The last contractor I contacted was Jim Wilson and I'm glad I waited. Jim was responsive and interested in the details from the get go. He identified potential problems, was up front about material options and tradeoffs and his first proposal was thorough and detailed; clear on what was firm and what we still needed to work out (like whether the garage already had insulation). There was a hiccup in getting started, when the materials arrived at the house some of the trim was missing and the crew couldn't make much progress without it. This put progress back about 2 weeks while they waited for the material. Unfortunately, this was late fall and bad weather then hit for the next few weeks and slowed the work down even more. The net effect was the project took about a month longer than expected due to this chain of events. Once underway, the quality, care, and craftsmanship were excellent. I got updates on progress and they were great about discussing things with me as they came up. The finished job looks outstanding. It's not the same house! And I have the peace of mind knowing that the job was done right and I paid a fair price. If you have a challenging project, problem areas to deal with, or want to use better materials (Hardie, Fypon, copper gutters) give Jim a call and don't waste your time with the companies that only know how to slap siding on.

We initially visited the showroom, where we met our salesman, Frank Sek. He visited our home, explained our options, and measured our windows and door. He gave us an estimate, we signed a contract, and another gentleman came a few days later to measure a second time. We were told it would take about a month for the order to arrive, but it ended up taking almost 3 months before everything was installed. Chester and Gabriel did the installation, and they did a wonderful job. They arrived on time, and they cleaned up when they left. We've used this company before, and we will definitely use them again in the future.

I did not use them. Estimated cost was $48,700.

Wilson went above and beyond to make the job go smooth. They sourced the type of cedar siding I needed for the repair so it look seamless. They did every bit or more repair than I expected and left the job site clean.

House had vertical cedar siding with some problem areas due to water damage. Repairs were made as needed both by the 2 man window crew (done first) and then the crews that did the siding. There was a major challenge with a balcony that was over the front door. After several attempts, Jim and the project manager came up with a good solution. The window work was done quickly and with great care inside and outside of our house. Some carpentry work needed to be done and that also was done well. The siding work started right after the windows were done. During the start of the tearoff of the old siding, the crew was somewhat careless about our landscaping in the front. We talked with Wilson and things improved. This job would have gone much faster if not for drainage issues with the balcony over the front door. The final solution works and looks very nice. We have gotten many compliments on the "new" look of our house.

The Wilson crew couldn't have been nicer. They showed up on time and cleaned and organized their materials at the end of each day. They were professional and answered all of my questions. Their production manager called each day to check with us on how the work was going. Jim Wilson kept involved from the first meeting to discuss the estimate right through the final inspection. The job took 7 days. Jim came by and noticed something he didn't like. He pointed it out to me and then had corrected. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this company.

Wilson Colonial Exteriors is a great company to work with. We knew of Jim's work from neighbors who had hired him for their projects. This was an expensive, extensive overhaul - and we needed to feel comfortable that we were hiring a reputable, skilled contractor. Jim is extremely detailed oriented - he came and inspected the job personally-making certain that we were satisfied every step of the way. The workmanship of his team was meticulous - to say the least -true craftsmen! Everyone that we dealt with from the carpenters to the plumber(yes,we had some plumbing work done as well!) to the vinyl siding installers were professional and courteous. Wilson Colonial Exteriors gives a Lifetime Labor Warranty. As WCE is not limited to exteriors alone - we are planning on hiring them to remodel our bathrooms. We know that the job will be done well. We highly recommend them and have been placed on their reference list for prospective customers.

We've had them replace 18 windows in the past. The quality of their work is good, but their estimate for our current project was 25% to 40% more than the other 2 bids for windows. Beyond our basement windows, we will eventually replace all the windows in our house but will not be getting a bid from them because of the cost.

I had done alot of research and received 4 other estimates from some of Angie's List top window companies and installers. Ultimately, I choose Wilson Colonial because of Travis Vrba. He was willing to match other estimates, but in doing so found problems with some of the other proposals that I had not noticed. They were also the only company that would stain my new windows at their shop prior to installation. I was very concerned about the stain color being right so I was able to go over and give my finally approval after looking at the sample. It was a perfect match. The installers showed up on time and completed the job in only 2 1/2hours. They did not talk much but instead concentrated on getting the job done quickly and efficiently Dave did the staining and it was beautiful. I don't know if I got the best deal around, But customer satisfaction is much more important to me. All of my questions and concerns to Travis were always answered immediately. I will use them again.

The salesman was knowledgable and gave us the information we needed to decide which materials would help prevent future problems. The teams sent out performed well and cleaned up well.

WHILE THE PROJECT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN WE HAD WISHED, WE ARE DELIGHTED WITH THE RESULT. WE HAVE HAD PEOPLE STOP THEIR CARS TO TELL US HOW MUCH THEY LIKED WHAT WE DID. IT AS A MAJOR INVESTMENT AND A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT IN OUR HOME. THE WORKERS WERE CORDIAL, PROFESSIONAL, AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES CONTINUALLY.

THE WORKMANSHIP WAS OUTSTANDING AND THE INSTALLERS WERE COURTEOUS, DETAIL-ORIENTED AND EFFICIENT. ALTHOUGH THEY WERE THE HIGHEST PRICE OF ALL THE ESTIMATES WE RECEIVED, WE FELT THAT THEIR PRODUCT WAS THE BEST AND THAT THEY WOULD BE THE MOST LIKELY TO STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. WE WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN.

THE WORK WAS EXCELLENT, THE FINISH IS PROFESSIONAL. I DID FIND THAT THEY LEFT A LOT OF DEBRIS BEHIND - I HAD TO PICK UP MANY 3 INCH NAILS, ETC FROM MY YARD BEFORE I COULD MOW IT, I HAD SAWDUST BOLTS IN THE YARD WHERE THEY WERE SAWING. DESPITE THIS, I WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THEM FOR PRICE AND QUALITY, I WOULD JUST STAY ON THEM TO CLEAN UP.

WE USED WILSON COLONIAL TWO YEARS AGO FOR REPLACEMENT OF WINDOWS IN OUR HOME AND WERE SATISFIED ENOUGH WITH THEIR WORK TO HIRE THEM AGAIN.

THE INSTALLERS WERE EXCELLENT AND THEIR PRICES WERE GREAT. I HAVE USED THEM MORE THAN ONCE AND WILL LIKELY USE THEM AGAIN.

THEY ARE EXTREMELY RELIABLE. BEFORE I STARTED WITH ANGIES LIST, I USED THEM AS A RESOURCE FOR WHO TO USE FOR COMPANIES IN ALL TYPES OF AREAS. THEYVE BEEN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC TO WORK WITH. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.
