Karidas Electric Inc

We responded to an Angies List special: four hours electrical work for a reduced fee. We are very experienced renovators, so we were surprised how long it took for him to complete a very straight forward rewiring of overhead lighting on an open ceiling in a small workshop. Work was well done and clean, but took much longer to complete than expected.

We have used Karidas Electric on 3 separate occasions in two residences. He is very responsive, professional and courteous. Most recently we had a 3-way switch that was not working properly and burning out light bulbs in a matter of days. George was on time, identified the problem and quickly replaced a faulty switch, a damaged light socket and corrected faulty wiring. Additionally installing in-wall timers. We are big fans of Kairdas Electric and highly recommend the company.

My initial contact with George was June 2013 but the job wasn't completed until October 2013. There was a series of events that caused this such as being told I needed a general contractor to build a "box" where I wanted the ceiling fan installed only to be told by the contractor that wasn't necessary. Then George was unavailable for a few months because his calendar was full from other projects. However, once we finally got things scheduled for October 4th, George arrived on-time and completed the job within the specified time-frame. He was even kind enough to take lunch early and wait for me to go buy a totally new ceiling fan since the one I had was used but re-packaged as a new item. The only thing to be aware of is a "trip charge" which was not stated in the original Angie's List advertisement but could be charged in addition to the AL deal based on your location.

My husband and I recently purchased a home and had to make some major changes before we moved in. We hired many different types of contractors to assist with our various renovation projects. Of all of the contractors that we hired, George from Karidas Electric is the only one that we have recommended to others and will re-hire in the future. George is extremely professional and knowledgeable. He is realistic about what type of projects can be completed in a given timeframe. He seems to be a perfectionist at his craft, never cutting corners to get a job done. George is as honest and competent as they come. He is also very considerate of our personal property, always cleaning up after himself after a day's worth of work.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for $199.00 for 4 hours of electrical work. George was very punctual. He came in and I went through the work with him and he asked many good questions and thought of things that I didn't. He then did all the work quickly and he was able to accomplish more items on my punchlist than I had expected him to. I would highly recommend George and I plan on using him again in the future.

I need a Insuranced and bonded electrical company. Called George and asked him if he was bonded and insuranced. He said yes, he did the work and when it came down to the permit, he didnt have a bond. George wanted to chrage me 100+ for the bond that he said he had. He is a very nice person and started off great, but doesnt know how to conduct a business. I had to call another company to fix his issues and get me the permit. AND no i didnt have to pay for the bond out of my pocket just like he wanted me too. This is a one man team and I wish no bad apon anyone business or source of income, but i wasnt a satisfied customer to say the least. His work looked professonal and he knew what he was doing. I guess next time just have all this in writing before he touches your electrical. He wont be doing any work with me!!

They fixed our outlets and did basic electrical stuff. I had no difficulties scheduling the deal. He showed us a couple of things to address that were not on our list. He also pointed out the light bulbs we were using in our kitchen light fixtures. He did nice consultation work and I really appreciated his advice.

This was mediocre. When he showed up, he really did not look at the list of things to do and confirm with me if he could get it all done within the two hours. I wish he would have told me this before hand. The technician took more time than I thought he should have. He worked an additional three hours to do some of the work. I wanted him to put up a chandelier over stairs, which he did not complete. I had someone from the lighting store connect the chandelier within an hour of them showing up. The work he completed was great, I just felt like it took longer than it should have.

He was great and they did a good job. It was a nice electrical work. Their price was competitive because I looked and it's one of the better deals.

George installed a 220 plug, which I needed for a window air conditioner, and ran the conduit to my service box. He also completed several other outlets and rewired an outlet that was fed by old and unsafe BX. He also analyzed the problem with my front doorbell. He was thorough and organized. I would recommend him to anyone.

George provided advice to save us money & his work was very professional & reasonably priced. We will use Karidas Electric for all of our electrical needs in the future.

George from Karidas Electric was great. He answered all my questions. He fixed my dining room light. He helped me understand my circuit breakers. He helped me located what outlets work from which wall switch. He was a tremendous help to me. I would definitely used him again. He gave me an estimate on future work.

George is extremely professional every time he works in my home. His work is always exacting. He is always on time. He chooses quality equipment and charges fair, equitable pricing.

We were having electrical shortages in part of the house. George was able to quickly isolate the problem & repair necessary wiring & upgrade fuses/breakers.

This is not the first time we have worked with George Karidas. For the past seven years, George has been the electrician we call when we need an electrician. Each and every time we have hired him to make improvements, we're always glad we did. George is knowledgeable, helpful, skilled, precise and honest. We enthusiastically recommend him!

George was very professional and worked efficiently. He cleaned up as he worked and made sure that tools and wires were not left lying around since there were young children in the house. Additionally he went out of his way to replace a unique switch plate that was not discussed ahead of time.

George did a great job. Our project was a bit complex, and we needed the work done quickly to not impact another project we are doing. George came out right away for the estimate, and fit us into his schedule right away to do the work. He worked efficiently and everything looks great and functions as intended. He cleaned up all debris at completion of job. He is hardworking and honest; he did exactly what he said he would do, showed up when he said he would come, and completed work in the timeframe he said he would do it. The final cost I was charged was slightly less than the price I was origianlly quoted because he was able to do some items more efficiently than anticipated; I greatly appreciated this honest pricing and the price break on the items he was able to do more quickly. This is the second time we have used him and have been pleased both times. We would use him again.

It didn't work out very well. I got a deal for $99 and he came. And it was like, basically you got to throw that $99 into additional work and not just take care of the two hours or whatever that I bought already, he just wanted to get more work out of it. And I said, well, I don't want to give you more work that's why I bought the $99 thing. And then he quoted me something that's extremely easy to fix and it was $800 and I was like get out of here. I was getting quote for $400. So, he really didn't honor his deal, he just basically wanted more work out of it and didn't want do the work that I paid for. He is a typical type of contractor. He was like, I don't do any kind of carpentry, so I all I can do is electric so you got to make sure of everything. I wanted to install a vent on the exterior of the house and he wanted somebody else to do that part. I was like, that's a basic thing an electrician should know how to do, like, just do it and he wouldn't do it.

Great! George was very helpful from the start. He was very flexible in making a time that worked for us and showed up punctually when promised. He got right to work and did a lot of troubleshooting to trace the electrical wiring in our home to get the work done efficiently and without any damage to our home in his exploration. It was a job well done!

He was very nice but took a long time doing the work, thus increasing the price. Two of the three ceiling fan lights turn on randomly, many times at 2 or 3 in the morning.

George is fantastic! I would use him again in a minute - in fact I just referred him to my cousin! I would not give a referral if I wasn't totally pleased with the service. George is responsive and knows his stuff!

This was the third time that I was using George for electrical work. I called George and left a message and he called me back within a day. We scheduled a time about a week later and he came by as promised. I showed him the work and he promptly got to work. When I wasn't sure about something he made suggestions - such as outlet location. He was able to figure out how to get my steam shower working by suggesting that call the company and inquire about a updated switch. He was right! I ordered a new switch and he was able to install it. I also was having trouble with some can lights on my covered front porch. He suggested a retrofit fixture which turned out great. There was also a phone jack that we wanted removed and he not only removed it but he had drywall compound in his truck and he patched the hole for me - an unexpected but appreciated surprise!. George is easy going and casual but he knows his stuff.

We needed some electrical work done, so we once again called upon Karidas Electric. This is the second time we've used George, and once again, we were not disappointed. George is top-notch - he is always punctual, professional, and is extremely knowledgeable. Seriously, if you need any electrical work done, do yourself a favor and hire a real pro: Karidas Electric!
