They did a great job and I was very happy with them. They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves.

Todd came out within a couple days of our call to prepare the estimate and offered advice about obtaining permits. After the Village issued a permit, the work was scheduled within a few days. Advanced took care of calling J.U.L.I.E. and scheduling the inspections (one for post holes, one final) with the Village. The fence looks great!

Called the office and set up meeting with Todd. He came within a few days of the call and provided me with an estimate that day (I already new the type/style of fence I wanted). The estimate was in line with other estimates I had received. The project was scheduled within 2 weeks of our meeting and they arrived on time. The fence was completed in one day and they cleaned up the site before leaving.

The number of estimates narrowed down to Advanced Fence and one other competitor. Both had comparative prices and excellent reviews. Both companies worked hard to deliver a proposal that gave us exactly what we wanted (see pictures). Dave, the salesman from Advanced, was very knowledgeable about fences and materials. He was very patient with us as we asked questions and made multiple adjustments to the quote. We made the decision to go with Advanced based on our assessment that they would complete the project as promised and we felt confident they were the right company to use. Once the project began, there seemed to be a breakdown in communication between Dave, the foreman and the installers. The installers began connecting the posts and attaching the boards, but had to stop because of rain. I took the opportunity to check the quality of their work up to that point. I noticed was that they left several pieces of electrical equipment outside in the rain and my shed door open. Also, the nails used to nail down the boards were not nailed in a straight line, so the holes were crooked (see pictures). I called Dave to report this, and, to my amazement, he didn?t even know the project had started. I told him I wanted the installers to pay better attention to the quality of the work and not be sloppy, and he said he would let the foreman know. When the work resumed after a few days, I asked the foreman if he spoke with Dave about the issues, and he said he did not, so I had to repeat everything. I was assured by the foreman that the nails on the remaining boards would be nailed in a straight line. By the time all the boards were nailed down, they nails were not nailed in a straight line. This might seem like a little thing to most people, but when the customer expresses that this is what?s important to him (aesthetics as well as function), it should have been a priority for the company. As for the communication issue between Dave and the foreman, I felt like no one was on top of the project or keeping in touch with me, which was a much different feeling than before we signed the contract. After the second day of installation, they ran out of wood and had to order more, which resulted in another few days of delay. Once the fencing was completely up, we called to report that the back gate lock was not working and the front gate was knocking into the beams when closing. It took several visits to correct the issues. Not a big deal, since we expected things to come up (as they usually do in home improvement projects). Overall, we are very pleased with our fence and enjoy the time we spend outside now. I think Advanced needs to pour over reviews like this to determine what they could have done better, so they can improve on the customer?s experience and the quality of their products.

Todd responded promptly to our request for an estimate. Came out within a week of our call and had the estimate for us the next day via e-mail, with referrals. Beat the price of another company that was also well-rated and recommended. Extremely professional company and easy to work with. The crew cleaned up after themselves. Whole thing done in one day. We love our new fence. It's more solid, secure and nicer looking than the other fences in our neighborhood.

Of all the companies I've ever worked with, and in any industry, Advanced Fence & Gate was the BEST. The work they do is absolutely beautiful. The crew members are both friendly and courteous. They are talented fence installers and know how to install fence on uneven ground and pavement. The quality of the vinyl fence they install is exceptional. I am very impressed with this company, but the best part was my experience with Todd Kopke. This is guy is truly amazing. I worked with Todd Kopke this summer and last summer on my fence project for the front and back of my house. Upon my request Todd provided several different styles of fence pricing over the course of last summer and this summer. Upon my request Todd also came out to my house 3 different times to answer my questions and concerns that I had. Every single time he was professional. Most people would have been annoyed about how many times I called with questions and the many times I requested estimates for a different fence style. Not Advanced Fence & Gate and not Todd Kopke. He was friendly and helpful every time I spoke to him. Todd is more dedicated to making sure that you are happy with the work that they do than anyone I've ever done business with. There are other fence companies out there on Angie's List with A ratings, but there is nobody as professional ,dedicated, and customer service oriented as Todd Kopke. They deserve a rating that is above A. If there is such a thing. I will be honest in saying that I do not accept just good work when it comes to companies I hire to work on my house. It has to be GREAT. Advanced Fence & Gate does GREAT work. If you are looking for the best fence company out there, I highly recommend that you hire Advanced Fence & Gate. You will be glad that you did. The work they did at my home looks beautiful!

Todd responded promptly with an estimate and answered several questions about the job. The work was scheduled and done on the day promised. The installers worked promptly and neatly with only a minor issue of throwing away some of the excess wood in the regular garbage. The price was quite a bit less than a competitor and is good quality.

From beginning to end this was a high quality job done to perfection.

It went without a hitch. They called and let us know they couldn't finish job on Friday, but would come Monday (due to rain). No shrubs were damaged. Everything was cleaned up.

I met with Todd on May 8th, 2008. He was very professional and answered all of my questions. He sent me an estimate within 2 days. The price was right and his estimate was more thorough than another company we had talked to, so we decided to go with Advanced Fence. The fence install was scheduled for June 12th. The team arrived on time and had everything done within a day as expected. The fence was beautiful and exactly what we wanted.

Workers were punctual and polite. Work accomplished in a timely manner and all concerns were addressed satisfactorily. I'm happy with the job done.

Absolutely beautiful. They did one whole side of the back yard fence. They also did a gate across our driveway. Also a gate on our deck. They did a great job. They also put lattice around the deck. its beautiful. We are very satisfied.

Todd was very responsive. Came out to look at the property and listen to what I wanted (in contrast to another potential vendor who wanted me to measure the fence and send him the info). The crew showed up when they said they would and did a very good job. Very pleased with the work.

Received callback right away to set appointment; rep was on time (amazing for any contractor!), and professional. Provided quotes in timeframe promised and has checked with me a couple of times to followup. Haven't decided yet - still getting other bids and part of another yard project, but good experience so far. Only drawback was that format of quote was a bit difficult to read but he later explained it. Wish they had a showroom where you can go to view the types of fencing they offer. They give you a list of references from previous projects and you have to drive around to find the ones you're interested in.

Professional crew, showed up pretty much on time but got the job done easily in a day. Seemed very experienced, worked quickly, efficiently and did nice work. Cleaned up well, including the alley and the neighbor's walk where they had to work.

Todd came out and gave us a very detailed estimate of what the project would take, what kind of wood etc. after our fence blew down. He told us he could be out within a week to get it done. As it was a wind event we filed a claim with our insurance and Todd worked with them on multiple occasions to explain why the fence needed to be replaced and what it would take to make it safe. Our backyard was perfectly cleaned up and the new fence was all that remained. They did a great job and we hope to have them come back in the fall to replace our other fence.

Advanced did a great, professional job. They removed and hauled away the old fencing and installed the new fencing, very quickly. As daylight faded extra crew members arrived to get the work done in one day. They missed finishing the nailing on a few posts in their hurry and they forgot to install a few post-caps. They finished the work when we pointed it out to them.

It all went very well from my viewpoint as a customer, and the Montage fence & gates are very handsome. I'd placed the order in November--very late in the fencing season--and Montage fences & gates are special order, so Advanced Fence had to contend with snow, mud, and partially frozen ground when the fencing & gates arrived. Then I asked them to add fine-mesh wire fencing part-way up the height of the Montage fencing to block neighborhood debris such as leaves, papers, etc., from my yard. All this during Chicago's cold winter had to be unpleasant for them, to say the least, but they always gave good suggestions and advice and were completely cooperative. Both Todd the representative and the installers were a pleasure to do business with, and they did a really wonderful job of installing a fence and gates that have drawn compliments from neighbors--all at a very reasonable cost.

It went well. It took longer to get to us then expected. They did the job quickly and did good job. They cleaned up any of the mess. They were very courteous.

Todd came out within a day to give me an estimate on the fence. The price was well below the other quotes that I had been given. After we purchased the permit, our work was scheduled within a week. The workers were on time and the installation was completed within a day. The fence looks great and everything was cleaned up beautifully. We are very satisfied and would use this company again.

He showed up on time and presented some good ideas/options for fencing in the yard and/or putting in a gate across the driveway. We are not getting a dog but otherwise I'd use them.

My calls to setup times for estimates were returned in a timely manner. I received the estimate about a day after they came out to look at the job. Once I signed off on the estimate, they showed up on the date and time as promised and performed the work as I expected. The new fence posts look great and the fencing was properly secured. They did good work for a reasonable price.

They did do a good job. The price was competitive. The work that was done was excellent. There was a delay in the order and they did a great job in accommodating me with a temporary fence until the order came in. They did let me know about the back order. They were very reconvening and the work was done great.
