Description of Work: Remediated a large area of black mold in my attic. It looked good after, but I discovered some mold remained in a difficult to reach corner. I reported it and a technician was sent back to correct it. Management wanted the job to be right. Their process leaves the wood looking normal. Some companies who quoted the job would have painted it white, which I didn't like.

Description of Work: During the sale of my home, the buyer's inspector found mold in the attic. I worked with Gary Brummell and could not recommend him more highly. From a prompt, polite, and professional response, a quick visit to assess the situation, a professional proposal, and quick resolution, the process was painless from start to finish. We had already moved and so were coordinating this from out of state; Gary made it easy and got the job done both quickly and well for a reasonable price. He was even kind enough to provide a letter that was needed after the remediation work that was done. I would definitely recommend Gary and his company for any services needed.

Description of Work: We had mold in our 3 bedroom closets. Laurie was the individual who visited our house and walked us through what would be done to remediate the mold. She was prompt in sending a quote, pictures, and scope of work. The work was scheduled quickly, and the remediation was completed on time. Afterwards, Laurie provided further recommendations on prevention. I really appreciated the excellent customer service and personal touch of this company and its staff.

Tested for mold in my home with an air test. Unlike other mold remediation companies, they took pictures of the mold in our attic and explained to us what was up there. The other two companies we used were not nearly as thorough and professional.

AdvantaClean of DuPage County came in right on quote and under half the quote I got from another company. They were much more responsive than anyone else and the representative was really responsive any time I called or text, he got right back to me. They were really great and really helpful during a stressful time. I had to lose a lot of flooring and the worked well with the insurance so it was great. I have no complaints.

We had leaking windows in our 10 year old home and were concerned that we had mold in the footers and insulation under the window. We had cut out the drywall and were concerned about the discoloration on the wood and framing. Our experience with Advanta Clean was exceptional. From the time I called in to set the appointment they were very helpful, understanding and attentive. Randy, the inspector, that came out to the house was professional and knowledgeable. Prior to the appointment, he called to confirm appointment and asked detailed questions about my situation. Upon arrival, Randy was friendly, helpful and courteous, he even wore booties to protect our carpet. He examined every area in my home that I had concerns about, and field tested areas to check structural damage. He was awesome and put my concerns and worries to rest. I would absolutely recommended this company, they did an great job. Thank you Randy and Advanta Clean for helping me keep my family safe.

The owner, his plumber, and his crew were at our house immediately following our call. Trim removed, drywall removed, basement professionally dried. All workers were neat, nice, and professional. This was during the flood in April when they were swamped with calls, so I was completely impressed with their immediate response and attention.
Description of Work: I don't usually write reviews, but I was so impressed with the superior service and attention we received from Advantaclean during the flood of April 2013. The owner, Randy Moon, is a pleasure to work with. He's honest, responds quickly, and our flooded basement was remediated and dry again when most people were still waiting for someone to call them back. It was a pleasure to find a company with such integrity.

I would never recommend this company to anyone ever.
Description of Work: At 4am on April 18th, we called AdvantaClean of DuPage County to have them service our basement as water was coming in our after the flooding rains. We were told there were 8 people on the list (remember this is 4am) before us and that they should be at our house around 9am. At that point, we completely understood that it was a crazy night and that they were very, very busy. We called at 11am, and they said that we were moving up on the list and someone should be there soon. At 1pm, when we called again, they asked us if we could wait for a later date to have our basement cleaned up and that there were 75 people on the list. Why is anyone else's home more important than our home (I'm sure everyone feels that way). At 4pm, we were next on the list. At 6pm, the owner was going to get in contact with us. At 8pm, 16 hours later AND ONLY 8 PEOPLE AHEAD OF US, we were told they would get to us at some point. Never a call on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone ever. Who are they to tell us that we are less important than anyone else? What kind of customer service is that? Please take your business to a company that puts your needs before their needs. This is definitely not the place.

I originally called them to give an estimate on some small mold remediation on a vacant home. They were the first of several companies I called to respond and gave me a fair estimate on the spot. We scheduled a day for the work to be done on a day I was not there. The day before I received notice that the power had been shut off due to vandalism at the meter. I let the rep Jay know and he quickly volunteered to pick up a generator and do the work anyway for $50 more which was more than fair. They arrived at the home and one of the workers thought the house seemed damp, the investigated the basement and found it flooded. They immediately began getting the water out and called me. By the time I got to the house not only was the mold removed, they had 4 inches of water pumped out of the basement and had clear options for me to continue seeing as there was no power and it could flood again. Over the next couple of days they worked with me to get temporary power and dry the basement. It turned out the damage was much less than it could have been had Advanta not acted quickly. They even gave me a discount because they were already at the house. What could have cost several thousand was less than $700. I'll call them again.

Randy was very patient and professional in explaining to us the whole procedure and recommendations for getting rid of some patches of mold in our attic. He also recommended additional steps to be taken either by him or by us to improve attic ventilation. I liked the fact that his explanation was very educational. Sometimes when people are experts in their field they get annoyed with people (like us) who don't know the first thing about what they do, but Randy was very gracious in answering all our questions and concerns. His team came out a few days later to apply the treatment and, next thing we know, the attic ceiling looked like new again! I know he does air duct cleaning too, so based on this experience we may use him for that too.

+ 0 moreWe moved into a house that had a problem with mice. When started to fix the problem we found that we had some mice in the insulation in ceiling of our unfinished basement. We wanted to hire a firm that knew what they were doing because mice poop carries diseases and improper cleanup can be a health hazard. We called around and some Pest Control companies advertised they would come clean up the mess. Needless to say, no one seemed to understand how to the job ("we come over with a vacuum and bleach" didn't do it for us). Right out of the gate, Randy seemed very knowledgeable and courteous. He explained that is crew is equipped with some very high end cleaning equipment (negative air flow vac and hepa vacuums). These tools were great as they really sucked all the crap out of the basement and with no return exhaust. They finished the areas off with hydrogen peroxide. His crew is fantastic and I felt like they treated my house as their own. They charged us a very fair amount and exceeded expectations. It's not every day you get such good work and good service at a very fair price. I don't refer people often but people like this deserve to be recognized. Well done Randy!

+ -1 moreI was politely quoted general pricing over the phone for air tests and air duct cleaning. They lost my potential business when I was told, in the next breathe, that they would not provide me a "personal" in home estimate for duct cleaning unless I hired them to perform the mold remediation job I mentioned. I don't think estimates for duct cleaning should be contingent on hiring them for remediation...when they were not even asked to provide a remediation bid.

+ -1 moreFor the remediation, AdvantaClean first sealed off the room from the rest of the house and accessed it via the window. They removed all of the drywall from the inside of the room. Next, they removed all the insulation. After that, they treated all the contaminated surfaces and scrubbed everything down. They removed all the debris in 6 mil plastic bags. When they finished, they HEPA vacuumed the room and walls, and left a super dehumidifier overnight. They returned the next day and all was done, ready for the construction crew to complete their work. For the duct cleaning, they remove all the register covers and vacuum deep down inside. They HEPA vac everything, so no particulates get anywhere. Their main vacuum gets attached to the supply from the furnace, or the return air duct (depending on which portion they're cleaning at that time). It's a huge vacuum. They use a kind of whip to agitate the ducts and a huge "powerwasher" (but it's air only) unit to blow air down into the vacuum from each cold air return and each register in every room. I'm sure this house hasn't had ducts this clean ever.
Description of Work: AdvantaClean of DuPage County did two separate services for us. The first was in January 2012, the second in March. The first was demolition and mold remediation. We bought a home needing updating and in the process we discovered mold from a leaky roof. Randy Moon (owner) came to provide a quote within hours of my call and began work promptly (he reassured me the mold issue was MINOR, which gave us a lot of comfort). His team were prompt, thorough, polite and CLEAN. Once we completed updating the house, we had AdvantaClean return to clean the ducts. We are very pleased again with their work. It is comforting to know there are professionals who do what they say, when they say it will be done, for the price they quote.

+ -1 moreAdvantaClean responded quickly to our call, and arrived on site within about 45 minutes. They were very professional, and after completing a quick assessment they dug in and started sucking up the water with their big vacuums. One thing which was very interesting, they had an infrared camera that really showed where the walls and floor were wet - more extensive than I would have believed otherwise. They explained everything to us, including how they recommended using some special equipment to blow hot air into our walls and under our carpet to speed up the drying process and prevent mold. Bottom line, they saved all of our carpet, carpet pad, drywall and trim. Everything was fully dry in 3 days at a very fair price. All we had to do after they left was have the carpet professionally restretched. This was not our first experience with water, but these guys were greatl. They always called before coming over, and kept our home neat in spite of the drying work that was going on.
Description of Work: AdvantaClean responded when we had a hot water heater failure in our large finished basement. As a result of this large leak, which went unnoticed for most of a day (discovered by our cleaning service!), over half of our carpeted/tiled basement was really flooded. The water had soaked up our drywall as much as 1 to 2 feet in places. We had a real mess!

+ 0 moreIt went well. After the vent cleaning I noticed more dust than usual from my vents, I just waited a couple of days before I dusted. It no longer puts out extra dust. The workers were polite, neat and efficent.
Description of Work: My home has lots of airducts, a finished basement and a floored attic. I had had some leakage in my attic ceiling which caused mold. We had the house reroofed but did not clean up the mold spots on the ceiling. We also had some ceiling damage in a closet that was all repaired. We had the vents cleaned and the dryer vent cleaned.
