Tom came out to give us an estimate the same day we called, within a couple hours if I remember correctly. He made it clear that he would be doing the painting along with one other individual. I believe this was a Thursday, and he painted the following Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. After his intial estimate of $1,050 and after he had already begun painting we asked if he could add one bathroom to the job. Some would have considered this an opportunity to attempt to "hose" us but he quoted just an additional $100. At the end of each day all of his gear was completely cleaned up and piled up nicely in one corner, thereby allowing us and our young children safe use of the house. I have only two small complaints, and they may not really be fair to Tom. First, after all the work was done we noticed several items that had paint splatter (several tiny white dots of paint) on them...such as the front of our oven and a table or two. There was however much less splatter than when I do my own painting, and I understand it is difficult to completely cover everything. The second would be that while he did repair many holes/cracks/nail pops it seems that there were several others not repaired. I think this has to do more with the age of our home (45 years old)...to completely repair all these marks would probably require replacing all the drywall! I did notice after the job was done that he used Benjamin Moore "Super Spec" which I believe is a contractor grade paint. One of the other estimates specified a higher grade Benjamin Moore paint. I can't put this on Tom...he clearly indicated that Benjamin Moore paints would be used and I failed to ask him what grade of paint he would be using, otherwise I'm sure he would have aswered honestly. In the end though, the walls look good and I doubt many people care what specific grade of paint is used as long as it is applied neatly and appropriately. It should be noted that all of the painting done by Tom was done when we were not home. We left the door unlocked for him and he did nothing to make us think that he could not be trusted in this type of arrangement. All in all, Tom gave me the impression that he is an experienced painter and I definitely would use Grala Painting again and recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Interior painting of our entire home, minus the bedrooms (living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, hallway, 1.5 baths). This included the ceilings and two coats on the walls (but not the trim/windows since they did not need painting). This also included repair of some cracks, nails pops, holes, etc. We obtained three estimates and his was the lowest.
