Lindemann came out and gave me an estimate for the chimney rebuild. I had 3 quotes done, there's was in the middle. But the professional way they conducted themselves made up for the cost. They called in advance to schedule someone being home and finished the job neatly and quickly.

We have used Douglas Chimney several times and have been pleased with their service. They have come within a week of our call. When cleaning the chimney from the indoors area, they cover the floor and are careful to clean up after they are done. The service man emptied the gutters and again cleaned up what he had tossed to the ground. They have always been polite, friendly, and easy to work with.

Great job from start to finish - very responsive to phone calls, showed up for quotes on time, showed up for job on time and made sure job was well done and met my expectations. Very pleased.

Lindemann checked the chimney in our new home, repaired a defective flue and tuckpointed the firebox and lower part of the interior chimney. The serviceman was detail-oriented, considerate of our home (shoe covers, ran tarps from the front door to the chimney, fully cleaned up after himself) and got the job done quickly. He was mindful of our desire to get the fireplace fully and safely functional as a wood-burning fireplace without frills -- and he delivered with a no-muss, no-fuss attitude that got the job done. We will call Lindemann whenever we have chimney issues -- we were very impressed with their level of service.

This is a follow-up to my previous report. Lindemann came out and repaired my mailbox. Although it's not as good as it was they were very professional and made the repairs as necessary. Apart from the delay, Lindemann was extremely professional and easy to work with. I would use them again.

Jim Janeck from Lindemann's inspected 4 chimneys that service 6 townhouse-style condominiums. His inspection showed that not only was tuckpointing needed, but four of the units did not have chimney liners from furnace/hot water heaters. All chimneys needed crown coat and tuckpointing. Jim's office sent estimates over, and the condo association voted to proceed. The office (Kirsten) then split the estimates out so each condo could pay individually, which was a complicated process due to the way costs were being divided between the owners. A discount was given for all condos doing the work at the same time. They were extremely patient, and revised the estimates a couple of times. In addition, they allowed each owner to pay by check or credit card - not everyone had to pay the same way. Work was scheduled at our convenience around 6 owners schedules over a two day period. Jim did the work himself and was very thorough, cleaned up all debris, and was on time and professional. Excellent job. I would highly recommend this company.

The technician at Lindemann Chimney Service was very professional and honest. My husband and I thought we needed a complete chimney rebuild, but Lindemann provided us other cost effective options for the repair. During the service, the technician worked for 2-3 hours and thoroughly explained the status of our chimney. The technician also used drop clothes and cleaned up after himself.

Would definiately use for smaller job.

He did a nice job and he seemed to have a reasonable price in comparison to the other places I called.

How did it go? Very smoothly as they took care of everything with us not being home and never even bothered the dog.. Never realized that oak logs could foul a chimney as bad as ours was because I saw the inner fire cooking. Always thought it was only pine logs that caused that problem, I was wrong.

He came out and measured what they needed. Then they told me they needed to contact the supplier but after 2 weeks they never got back to me. At that point I decided to go somewhere else.

The experience with this company was fine. They were good to work with. Their response time was good. They were professional and clean. Everything seems to be working fine and everything went smoothly.

We had been told by another company that the chimney liner(terra cotta)in our 90-year-old house had some cracks, and we would need a new liner that they estimated at around $5,000. We called Lindemann for another estimate. They came right on time, were extremely professional and showed us with a camera exactly where the cracks were. They estimated the liner at $3,800. They also discovered a problem in our basement, where the door to the ash heap under the chimney had opened and dropped embers on our carpet. They sealed the door at no charge. They were pleasant, clean, and took the time to explain everything.

I called three companies about chimney work, and received estimates from two of them. The estimate from Lindemann was a lot more expensive than that of the other company, but we also felt that they were extremely professional, knew exactly what they were doing, and would do everything properly. The other company's representative said we did not need as much work done, and so it would be cheaper. Frankly, we did not trust them--their estimate was completely different than one the same man had given eight months earlier on the same chimney. Steve from Lindemann was great--friendly, quick and professional. He seemed very knowledgeable and trustworthy. He did the work on the day promised, even in the rain! We had no mess at all in the house or yard--you couldn't even tell anyone had been working in the chimney. He recommended installing an exhaust fan at the top of the chimney. After narrowing the chimney itself with the new liner (and filling in the space with fireproof material), the firebox itself would be to large to vent properly without a fan. It was an added expense, but we never have any problems with smoke coming into the house. And the fan actually helps get the fire going! It's extremely quiet too, you almost can't hear it when it's on. Lindemann has a good website. One the best features is the staff bios. You can see a photo of and read about each employee. It seems like the company respects its employees, and the employees seem to like their job. The company was founded by a former firefighter, which was also a plus in my opinion. It was an expensive job (chimney relining usually is), but we decided that we did not want to cut corners when dealing with something as potentially dangerous as fire. We been using the fireplace for a few months now, and everything has been great. We have not regretted spending the money to get everything done right. It was probably one of the best contractor experiences--great communication. Steve actually called to say he would be about 20 minutes late. And 20 minutes later, he was here. That has never happened with any other contractor. We would hire them again, and will recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

They did an excellent job. Originally they were going to charge me $269 but they couldn't see the full length of the chimney for the inspection so the final bill was $216 for the cleaning.

Doug and his assistant were prompt informative and thorough. I would use their service again as needed.

Everything went fine. The drying time was reduced by half after the cleaning. I felt comfortable with Doug in my house and leaving the door open for him.

Steve came out to give an estimate for the above work. He was on time, very professional, and complete in answering all questions. I received multiple estimates (most within the same range/using identical materials) & chose Lindemann Chimney Services because of their professionalism and follow-up calls. I initially got Rob Lindmann on my first call to the company; the receptionists had just left for the day. He explained how they would do the work I needed and offered to have the receptionist call me in the morning to set up the estimate appointment. Steve did the work today. He was on time, worked in an efficient manner. Very knowledgeable, competent. Easy to work with. Excellent job. Used tarps, cleaned up after himself. I'm pleased with the work and would have them back.

Discovered that we needed repair while cleaning the chimney. Showed me through a camera why we needed the repair. Their estimate was in line with other places but I went with them because they were prompt with the estimate and very professional. The kept the house clean while doing their work and were careful about breakables on the mantelpiece.

Michelle called me back the same day I left a voicemail and she was very nice. I was told she would pass the message on to see if they could do the job or not. I got another phone call from a man, sorry, didn't catch the name. He was honest enough to tell me that he did not feel he was an expert masonry and didn't think he could do a good enough job for such a prominent place on the house. His main business is chimney cleaning and repair. I was really glad and impressed that he was honest enough to tell me that, instead of doing a poorly done job. If I ever need chimney work done, I wouldn't hesitate to call him to do the job!

They came at the appointed time and did the work. They got the job done and it was a good experience with them. We thought that the price was reasonable.
