This was supposed to be a 2 day job. The first day they came it was raining and they weren't able to get too much done, they just dug the holes (which they left uncovered as it continued to pour rain). Then they tried to say they would be back 3 days later! They then agreed to come back the next day. The following day they sent 2 workers who must have never put up a fence before. The fence looked TERRIBLE. At the lowest point to the ground the fence was 4 inches high. In some spots it was as high as 8-9 inches! Besides that they were also putting things together wrong, like the tension wire. We tried to call the owner of the company several times as soon as we saw the fence. We left numerous messages and he refused to call us back! We started leaving messages at about 5:30, and at about 8:00 we finally received a call from the head worker, NOT the owner. He promised he would be out at 7am to talk to my husband and see what was going on. My husband had to show up to work late because of this. They didn't bother to show up until after 7:30 knowing my husband had to leave for work. They then worked this 3rd day on fixing everything the workers the previous day had done. I then had to leave work to go home and approve the fence. These workers did a MUCH better job and the fence looked like it should have the day before. And if we didn't complain I would have had a horrible fence from the day before. Although the work was FINALLY to my satisfaction, I wanted to wait to pay for the owner to call me first, since we still hadn't spoken with him. Of course he was unavailable so that didn't happen. I paid my bill and shorted it $45 which is my husband s hourly rate since he missed an hour of work. We were also supposed to get privacy slats from this company that were supposed to be brought with them when they put the fence up but THEY messed up and didn't order them in time. My husband finally spoke to the owner who said he'll see what kind of a deal he can work us out with the slats to make up for what had happened and that he would call back. He said the LEAST he can do was deliver them for free, when they were supposed to have come for free with the workers anyways! That was a Thursday, he didn't call back, my husband finally called him the following Wednesday. He pretended like he didn't know anything and told us to talk to the lady in the office. She then told us the slats are there!. She didn't know anything about the conversation my husband had with the owner and she said she would talk to him about what he planned to do for us and call back. She then called back the following morning and said that since we already shorted them ($45 FOR THE HOUR THEY MADE MY HUSBAND MISS OF WORK) that they were not going to give us any deal. But they would do us the favor of delivering them for free. I am outraged at the way I was treated by this company. Their lack of professionalism is outrageous. I was treated so poorly throughout this whole process.
Description of Work: They were hired to take down our old fence and install a new one. In the front of the house we had them install a cedar fence. And in the back and side we had them install chain link. They also insisted on working in the rain the first day and my grass got extremely tore up and is now just dirt piles since they did this. They tried to get away with giving me a completely unacceptable finished product.

We were hired to take down and haul away fence at the member's home and install new material. On the date of the install it started raining so we took down the existing fence and lined the yard up for when we could return for the install and called the members to see if it would be okay to return in 3 days and keep on with our existing schedule. Because that was unacceptable we insisted to reschedule all of our other customers and return the next day. The next day our crew leader Daniel, disobeyed immediate instruction that we had given him and dropped off some fence installers that we did not hire that work for him and not us. This had not happened since and will not happen again. we do not stop in on every job as it is being installed because there has never been a need. Daniel decided to disobey our orders. ON this very day it was after 5pm that they got home and began to call the personal cell phone of the owner and office manager. The owner was at his fathers birthday dinner and the office manager als had personal family business matters to attend to and for that reason both of the were unable to answer the calls. The members called both phones on multiple occasions until 8 pm and again the following morning repetitively before 9pm. The first two messages were please call me back, and the remaining messages used vulgar language, insisting on throwing our material in the streets and not paying a dime for any of it. There were many threatening words and negative tone being used. By the time the calls were returned, the members were assured that the problems were to be fixed, that we were sorry for the mistakes that were made and that we would do the best we can to fix their fence to satisfactory which we did. Our crew leader Daniel returned the next day and fixed everything and on this day they handed a check to denial minus the $5 and minus the payment for the slats which are nonrefundable to our company. It was a misunderstanding that there was to be any sort of communication back to the members regarding the slats because they continued to insist they wanted a discount on the work already done when we had already accepted their final payment minus the $45 and were waiting to hear from them regarding how they wanted us to handle the slats. At this time we lost the day of work because of the weather and an additional day because of returning to their property which we cannot fault the member for however, because of that, we were in no position to offer the members any more of a discount for the already wonderful and complete job that had been done at their home for much less than we are charging other customers in this market. If the customer is looking for any sort of discount on their fence then we are happy to give them the slats at cost to us with no mark up to break even for our existing loss. If it works into our schedule we would be happy to deliver them still free of charge.
