STAN THE HANDYMAN

Excellent, took just a short time.

Great. Ed and Stan came and took out the tiles and benches and showed me about 3-4 inches of water in the benches and the black mold that was growing. They took out some of the wall and the floor tiles, to get all the water damage. And to assure me they had gotten all the mold and water. They retiled and I did not have the benches re-installed. I feel that is just asking for trouble. They went over every step they had taken.

The actual work of replacing the light post seemed to go fine, but I was shocked that this job would cost over $500 (not including the cost of the fixture or the pole). They couldn't estimate ahead of time how much this project would cost and I would not have gone ahead with it had I realized that it would cost so much. The way Stan the Handyman operates is that you pay $100 for two workers. This doesn't necessarily mean that you are getting two people working at the same time. For example, for this project, as they were working, they realized they needed another part. They had been out on an earlier day assessing the project and I would have expected that they would have identified the parts needed and arrived prepared. While they were working on this project, both of the workers left for over an hour to go to the home improvement store(approximate 3-4 miles away) to purchase the materials. At $100 per hour, I would have happily found some odd jobs around the house for one of them to do while the other one drove to get the part. Instead, I ended up paying for the time it took both of them to drive to the store and consequently feeling very taken advantage of. I never thought I would say this, but I'm sure I would have saved money by having an electrician do the work in the first place.

He was a very nice guy. His pricing was in line with what it should be. I liked him a lot. He was just very polite. He was very respectful about being inside my home.

There had to be two people here for each hour that they did the work. I was a little disappointed in this but was told that it would make the work go faster this way. But then Stan had to leave and left the other man doing the remainder of the work. They were not able to do all the tasks on my to do list because we ran out of time. His prices were a little higher than others that I had called.

They are phenomenal. They're price is better then reasonable. It looks great. They explained everything and their solution was reasonable. I will definitely call them again for my home and office. I will recommend them to my friends.

Received a quick return phone call. Arrived for estimate, reviewed project, returned following week with the actual person who would complete most of tasks with him. Did need to postpone original start date, though I had though it was optimistic to start prior to holiday. Arrived on time daily to work the job and communicated any changes efficiently. I will definitely use again. I will record hours worked on site as there was some variation in hours of work stated versus what I recalled. As it is difficult to time chasing of supplies, I agreed with final bill. Also, this was an unusual variety of work and difficult to estimate so we went on time & materials.

It went great! Through sicknesses(flu) and Easter holiday, we all worked our schedule together and worked through this project. The best thing was each day, they told me who would be here and what time the next day. There was never any guessing,(are they coming and when). He used professional people and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately for them, they had great ideas, that we liked an added, (adding to cost and also to their time on this project). The rooms turned out great and we a very happy.

Everything went well from start to finish. Stan brought in a plumber/electrician to do the plumbing and electrical wiring. He also brought in a very competent painter to do the ceiling drywall repairs and painting. The repairs to the garage door, toilet, and shower head were all done by Stan. Everything was done to my satisfaction and within a time and cost frame that was acceptable to us.

They sanded & buffed the floor in between coats. They smoothed out any cracks or uneven spots. He took the trim up & replaced it with new without hesitation. While he was in the room he checked an old electrical phone box I had, he was able to remove it for me too! He explained that this process would take a few days. I was very pleased with how they worked. The only thing that caused a problem was that they gave me an estimate of $1,200 & I asked them to let me know if it would be more than a couple hundred over that & they didn't. He said he assumed I knew that $1,200 wouldn't be the price. Other than that, they were very helpful, even going above & beyond what they had to do. He put new tracks down in my closet doors, which he didn't have to do. They also helped to move the large pieces of furniture back into the room when the job was completed. He even apologized for the confusion over the estimate & the final cost.

My experience was excellent. Stan returned calls promptly and arrived as scheduled. He is extremely professional-- I felt totally comfortable having him working in my house. He seemed very knowledgeable and was a good problem solver. I will definitely use him for larger jobs in the future.

Everything was great. They came on time - finished in 7+ hours and about $50 in supplies. He said he always works with another person - so you are paying for 2 people at $50 per hour per person. But they knew what they were doing and did a great job.

Stan made scheduling easy. They were prompt, quick, and did exactly what they said in the time they had estimated. The kitchen was spotless, there was no dust, and nothing I needed to do. I would highly recommend them, and I know they do a great variety of services so I will definitely plan to use them in the future.

Stan had an associate (Ed) who is closer to my area, so Ed handled our job. He was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. He was able to get to the work within days of his estimate, and completed it quickly and cleanly. He was also able to work around my hectic schedule. I definitely recommend Stan and/or Ed and plan to use them again.

Stan and his crew were very efficient and did a quality job. Stan showed up on time, returned calls promptly, charged a reasonable price for his work and had a friendly personality.

I was very glad that he was able to come out to the house a couple of days after we spoke on the phone. I think his prices are a little high. He did a good job on the bathrooms. The master bath took a while longer than we had figured. He did not have to re-grout the hole shower, however it still took some time. He had to go out a few times to get the correct supplies. He is a friendly and professional person. I think depending on the situation I will use him again.

I contacted Stan to see if he would be able to remove a staircase in my basement. He called me back right away and said he would be able to do that and would call me back as soon as he figured out his schedule. I waited for his return call. He never called back. I finally gave up and contacted someone else.

Stan did a great job. Neither were super easy fixes. He used creative problem solving for both projects. He searched and found matching hardware to keep the closet door repair simple; ended up at a marine supply store to find this type of hardware! He was communicative, prompt and personable, too.

Outstanding. Very capable, on time, resourceful, good suggestions, neat and clean, cordial, good price. Would hire again.

Hired Sta, to attach a toddler bed to an old boat (unconventional project, to be sure). That was performed ok (although not exactly centered on boat), other than exposed bolts. Then had him, put together monkey bars, on same play area. Not done correctly. When I questioned him, he said he thought I didn't want some of the braces put up. He also put some braces on incorrectly, which had to be redone. Another contractor type, fixed them up great.

Stan was very pleasant when we talked on the phone to set up this appointment and said he would be out to my home the next day. He arrived on time and did a great job. He sawed off about 4 inches of the bottom of the fence and cleaned up all of the debris. I then asked him if he could reattach a section of the downspout that had fallen off of the rain gutter, which he did.

Stan and his crew did an excellent job. They were at my house working non-stop for 3 full days. No detail that I mentioned was forgotten and they were very patient with my last minute changes. The completed work was all of the highest quality and the painters even painted a few things that weren't included in the original estimate, but really did need a fresh coat - at no extra charge.

We contacted Stan because our home warranty company was replacing our old worn-out appliances but does not provide installation services. Stan did a great job with a particularly challenging installation. The new appliances were 30-inch models just like the old ones they were replacing but they turned out to require very different-sized cutouts in the counter top and cabinet face. Stan & I had hoped it would be a fairly straightforward job of removing the old appliances, placing the new ones, and connecting the gas and electricity. But, it turned into a major carpentry job. (The counter cut-out needed to be enlarged; the supports for the oven needed to be removed, relocated, and reconstructed; etc.) Thankfully, Stan had all the right tools and skills to see the job through to completion. The final cost was quite reasonable considering that the job was far more time consuming and complicated than originally expected. (I think he was at our house nearly 6 hours.)

Stan responded to my e-mail request almost immediately, came over to inspect the problem, and was able to handle it the following morning. He arrived promptly and cleaned up afterwards. They were very pleasant to deal with.

Stan was prompt, neat, and did a terrific job. I will definitely call him to do other jobs.
