The first crack happened less than a month after the pour. I specifically chose this contractor because of a 2013 Service Provider Award on Angie's List. How, I do not know. I am far more upset with Angie's List than with this sub-par contractor. With this company's continuing mixed/poor reviews, how is he still on your list? My experience is identical to the continuing poor reviews: Poor communication, workmanship did not match up with big talk, really, really poor clean up. My first review was a positive one until the crack showed up and then I had it taken off the reviews. I almost cancelled my membership to Angie's List because of this guy and his fly-by-night company.

Dale was very responsive, kept in touch via email and phone. Called the day before the job to confirm and even arrived a little earlier than planned. He and his crew didn't waste any time doing exactly what was proposed. Dale had several good ideas to improve the looks of the entire job. Have already passed his name and number along to a friend needing concrete work.

From the day that Dale had come out to give us a bid, I knew he was the right guy for the job. He was very upbeat and answered all my questions. Even with some major issues with the patio (it ended up being more like 3 patios poured on top of each other). In some spots the concrete measured over 15 inches thick! Dale had to call in some heavy equipment to break the concrete up and though that made the project take longer and his costs rise, Dale did not charge me alot of extra money for the work. I was very appreciative of the hard work and the quality of the work I received I even paid more than what he was asking to show it. I have worked with other companies that look for opportunities to nickel and dime you - Dale is not that kind of guy. The new patio and sidewalk look very sharp! Thanks Dale!

Mr. Cochran came the day after I called for an estimate, and examined the project, making a reasonable offer for the work. His crew and he appeared on the appointed day and swiftly broke up and removed the existing walkway. He did not stint on materials, laying a good foundation of crushed rock and compacting it well. Deteriorating weather prevented pouring on that day, and when the crew left, they laid a large plastic tarp over the work to shield it from the rain. When the weather improved, Mr. Cochran and crew arrived and on delivery of the concrete poured the walk and smoothed it, completing the job with a broom finish. Cleanup was thorough. On Mr. Cochran's recommendation, I built up the verge between walkway and lawn with topsoil. Apart from this, all the work was done by Mr. Cochran and his team. The work was done in a professional manner, and the final result is excellent. I expect the work to hold up well over the coming years. My sole regret is that someone of Mr. Cochran's experience and skill did not construct the walkway in the first place!

Dale came out and gave me an estimate and described the work and what steps were involoved. He explained what he would do, how long it would take, and why he was doing certain things. He prepped the ground with a good rock base that was tamped down properly. He took care not to disturb any of my plants and lawn any more then was necessary. He was very meticulous in how the concrete was poured and finished. All of the lines are straight, the edging was done neatly, he added more cuts then I had previously in the original driveway. He anchored the sidewalk to the porch with re-bar and poured a deep hole under the sidewalk to brace it so it wouldn't pull away from the porch. The project took two days total and was delayed a couple days because of the rain. He came out and covered the unfinished area with plastic so the rain would not get it wet. Very happy with how it looks.

Replacing the driveway turned out to be much more complicated than any of us expected. Our driveway had been poured directly on top of an even older driveway so both had to be ripped out. In addition, there was a huge tree root full of water underneath which had to be removed and then the soil had to be dried out. Even though this job was much more work than originally anticipated, Mr. Cochran always was professional and communicated with us throughout the process. After the driveway was poured, a neighborhood child walked through it leaving footprints in the wet cement. Unfortunately, this section then had to be ripped out and repoured. Mr. Cochran did us an enormous favor and quickly worked us back in to his busy schedule so that we could have this job completed and get back to using our driveway. The finished product is beautiful and we couldn't be more pleased. In summary, price was great, service was great, and dealing with Mr. Chochran was a pleasure, even under difficult circumstances. We highly recommend this company.

Everyone showed up on time, worked very well to meet a tight schedule and the work looks great. Very happy with the new sidewalk and patio.

Fast service and prompt response to changes that need to be made.

It was good. He was very quick. He was very punctual. I called him and he came either that day or the next. I would absolutely use them in the future.

I bought it thinking it would be the same square footage as a sidewalk. It turns out that it wasn't. He was very nice about it though.

Dale was very knowledgeable. They did a good job in putting in the concrete quickly. The payment terms was half out front and the contract says we had 30 days to pay the rest. But he wanted the money when he finished. I am still putting my lawn back together. They were here on time.

I initially purchased his concrete driveway special, but after talking it over with my wife, decided to immediately cancel as we weren't sure what we wanted to do. Dale eventually came out and we discussed different options, and I told him how my wife and I had different ideas on what we wanted to do. Dale was great to talk to, and I know when we do decide to have major concrete work done, then I will not hesitate to give him my business.

He was very prompt in coming out and prompt in giving his bid. He was a lower priced guy so I liked that. He was very professional and really seemed like he was going to be careful not to do more work than what's required. He was very experienced and very knowledgeable, and I liked him quite a bit. I think anybody could have done the other repairs but stabilizing it for a column was going to be really hard to do, and I think we had decided just to tear it down rather than deal with it. When Stan Mauk got here, he said no. He said he thought we can use manpower to kind of shift it back into place, which never occurred to me. They didn't do it all the way exactly, but it's a lot better than what it was. I just appreciated Stan. He was like a John Wayne character. He was more convincing or competent.

The staff arrived right on time. They worked through the day. While waiting for any downtime, they sat in their cars and let me get on about my business. When the job was done, they cleaned up. It looks almost decorative. My friends came over, and without me saying a word, they complimented how nice it looked. They did a great job!

We are in the process of moving out of our house and noticed that our driveway desperately needed to be replaced. After talking to several companies we selected Cochran Concrete for this job. We were impressed with the knowledge of his trade in addition with a very competitive price. The project was handled professionally and completed in a timely manner by an EXCELLENT team of skilled craftsmen. We observed his crew to be punctual, knowledgeable, conscientious, polite, and hard working. Mr. Cochran is a detailed oriented individual who will go out of his way to please his customers. We consider him to be a hands-on owner who really knows his trade, pays specific attention to his craftsmanship, and constantly strives for high quality work that creates a lasting impression for each of his customers. After the work for the driveway was completed, we contacted him to tear out and replace a driveway at another property. We just had our driveway replaced and extended, front porch replaced, sidewalk by our house moved and extended. The materials used were top grade. His work crew, once again, was excellent and meticulously cleaned up after the job was done. We strongly believe that no other company could have done a better job. We are willing to let the work he performed at our home be photographed, and act as a referral at any time for Cochran's Concrete. My advice to all of you is very simple: Do not go with a lowball bid from someone who does not know what they are doing. Always go with Cochran?s Concrete! . I will recommend them to all my friends and family and we are willing to let the work he performed at both of our homes to be photographed, and act as a referral at any time for Cochran's Concrete.

The job was simply amazing. My home looks so nice I find myself sitting outside with my Grandchildren while they ride their bikes. Mr. Cochran is very professional businessman. He is honest and explains everything in detail. He also hires very polite and hardworking men who clean up as they go along. Great job Dale I have told others about you and your work and I will continue to tell my friends how much effort you put in customer satisfaction. Thanks for a job well done!

After concrete dried, several holes appeared. Contractor said it looked more like something was dropped on it. I could not prove, or disprove, this. To me, it looked like the concrete had bubbled and popped. As time went on, I noticed standing water, near the fence edge. He did come out and cut a small drain line. After the winter, and snow was gone, I noticed the concrete was flaking. Also, another area had standing water. I called and told him of the problems. He blamed the concrete provider, but would come out and check the standing water problem. To me, the concrete flaking looked like it hadn't been packed tight enough. The problem did not appear, until we actually drove, and parked, on it. He never showed. I called him, a week later. Of course, the phone went to voice mail. so, I left a detailed message. I never, ever, heard back from him.

Mr. Cochran neglected to call and say he had to change the date. That was a foreshadowing of what was to come. We returned from work to find the driveway poured on April 17, 2014. Initially, everything looked great. On further inspection we found sand, gravel, and concrete in 4 different areas of our lawn and cigarette butts left all over the lawn. Now, it is only 2 months later and the driveway has already cracked. Poor communication, poor clean-up and poor craftsmanship...how on earth was this company an Angie's List 2013 service provider of the year? I regret I used Cochran's Concrete and trusted Dale Cochran for this major home improvement.

The driveway looks solid, like it would last 50 years. However, I am VERY UNSATISFIED with the quality of the drainage pipe handling and clean up. The crew left a bunch of garbage in my garage that I had to clean up. Two black, flexible hoses come off of two downspouts and meet in a T, and drain out down the hill next to the driveway. The crew LEFT THE HOSE STICKING ABOVE THE DRIVEWAY for a couple of feet. It is very unsightly, and the pipe could easily be destroyed by someone straying off the driveway. My neighbors started complaining that I needed to get it fixed. I called CC to come out and take care of it, and I was told that they "didn't have any dirt left." Presumably, the didn't think to take any from where they DUMPED a bunch of it next to parking spot they formed. They came back out, and sprinkled some yellow dirt (looks like sand almost) on top of the pipe, but it all washed away with the first rain. Thinking I needed to get it done right (my neighbors complained to me again), I called some landscaping folks to come take care of it. They wanted $345!!! I called back CC and told them this, and he said, "Oh, we can beat THAT price!" So he wants MORE money to fix the awful job he did in the first place. CC did a lot of bragging before the work about how good the quality would be of the driveway, how he would use the best materials and it would be solid. I guess I can't argue with that. The driveway does indeed look pretty solid and it is pretty attractive (if you can ignore the horrid pipe h-u-m-p-e-d [Angie's List censored that word... I meant "curved up from the ground"] up from the ground like the back of the Loch Ness Monster). CC collected the second half of the cash from me before the job was finished, because (I am guessing) they had to hurry to the next job before the rains came. Giving it to him BEFORE THE WORK WAS COMPLETE was probably a pretty stupid mistake on my part, and those of you with experience hiring contractors are probably shaking your heads and laughing at me in a fit of Schadenfreude, thinking, "Well, that's what you get, STUPID!!! You NEVER pay until ALL the work is complete!" I suppose you would be right. But that doesn't excuse the poor customer service that I received from this outfit. Quality customer service is about FINISHING THE JOB, CLEANING UP AFTER YOURSELF, and NOT ASKING FOR EXTRA MONEY to fix what YOU screwed up! Taking advantage of some DOOFUS (me) who is willing to fork over money before the job is done, so you can scurry off to your next job, is NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. It's a shame to ruin a nice, solid driveway with such an insouciant attitude towards clean-up and customer service. And IF you should post a response saying that you are willing to come make it right, don't bother. You lost my trust. I would not allow you to screw in a light bulb, let alone FIX the mess you left behind. UPDATE: After my initial review, Mr. Cochran had people come by and fix the drainage pipe.

They were very prompt in the morning. Upon arrival they went over the project and then went right to work. They made sure the pads lined up with existing pads. They finished the concrete very nicely and cleaned up the areas. They even swept the driveway and ensured that all trash and excess materials. They completed the work and clean-up within 7 hours. I was extremely impressed with there hard work, quality and ability to advise us during the process and complete the project ahead of schedule and the price was a s quoted.

Mr. Cochran was wonderful. I walked out to see the job in the backyard and my dogs followed me walking right into the wet cement. I was to blame, and told him just to leave it. He and his crew repaired all the paw prints and made sure everything looked perfect before they left. I couldn't thank him enough.

Dale and crew did a very good job from start to finish. I really appreciated Dale's attention to detail for the final finish. Looks very nice.

We signed up for the package special @ $1399.00. but we added work to be done. | |They were very professional and completed the work in a time fashion. (Even with the additional work provided, we were able to save over a $1000 dollars off our neighbor's job that was done prior by another contractor. | |I would not hesitate using Cocran's in the future and would recommend them to anyone that asked.
