Description of Work: They installed a Quartz countertop. I bought two coupons for $189, but only used one. Let's just say don't use their coupon. My impression was they did not want me to use it. They let me use the first one but the second one I felt brushed off. They did a good job but get other quotes to make sure you are paying a good price. I ended up using someone else for the second counter.

Description of Work: Started out fine. We were on a tight schedule and they matched a competitive quote and were available. Every one was very nice. |There was a production problem and 90% of the edges were not smooth. 2 of 3 undermount sinks were too small (purchased from them) |Back and forth. They had to pay my plumber to redo plumbing. Eventually they got it right but it took 4 weeks and a few lot of dust. If I knew it would take this long, I would have used another firm. |With that said, everything looks great

Description of Work: installed new quartz countertop in kitchen.. |installers punched 2 small holes in wallpaper when bringing counter inside. When I called the office to advise them I was told that it was in the contract. Apparently, if damage is done while |installing the attitude is "accidents happen". A supervisor was supposed to come out and take a |look but no one ever showed up. That was very disappointing.

I visited the showroom, along with looking at granite samples at big box stores. I found a few granite types that I liked and asked for a quote from Precision Design. I scheduled an appointment to have measurements taken in my kitchen and I received a written quote the following day. The employee who cam to my house the measure the kitchen did an excelent job of explaining the process and providing me with suggestions on layout, etc. The installers showed up on time on July 27, 2012. They came in and put down protective covering beofe starting any work. In addition, one of the installers explained the process and gave me an approximste timeline for completing the work. They worked cooperatively with my plumber for the installation of the new kitchen sink and faucet. The installation team exceeded my expectations and I am very pleased with the end product. I would definitely recommend Precison Stone Design and would use this company again.

First, let me say that I credit Sunny completely with the good experience that I had with Precision Stone Design. There are a number of points during the process when things could have been much improved, however, the final outcome has been a positive one and I appreciate all that Sunny did to ensure that this was so. I contacted Precision through Angie's List, requesting an estimate for the installation of granite countertops in our kitchen condo. We had shopped around somewhat at this point, including at some of the Big Box stores that were recommended to us by others. Sunny responded to my request within the day, and we scheduled a time for someone to come out and measure our counters. He told me that the person could bring samples of granite that I liked on the website. (I did not have the time to do this before the guy came out to measure.) The morning of the measurement, the field rep called to ask if he could come at 11, rather than our scheduled time of 4:30. I said that I couldn't do as early as he was asking, but that I could manage 2 pm. He confirmed this time, and I was excited to get it out of the way earlier. He didn't show up until 4:15. Fortunately I had not reworked my schedule to accommodate a 2 pm appointment. He was very efficient and self-sufficient, and measured everything. He explained that Sunny would get me an estimate for countertop both with and without backsplash. After the measurement it did take me a bit to get a reply from Sunny, but in fairness it was mid-summer and I think he was on vacation. I say this because all of my communication with him from that point forward was wonderful. He was responsive, worked hard to get me the best deal (e.g. one of the slabs we loved was a remnant slab, but despite the price listed online for remnants, the owner was insisted more than $20/SF more for that slab than the price online because that particular stone is more high-end. Sunny made a comment that the remnant slab had been there for more than two years and was JUST large enough to work for our very small job, so I'm not sure what the owner was holding out for. But Sunny totally went to bat for us and did what he could to get the price down.) and was very communicative and helpful. He even emailed me after a visit to the shop because someone had left an item of jewelry there, and he wondered if it was mine (it wasn't). He didn't act like our job was "small potatoes," despite the fact that it was all of 32 SF of countertop, if I recall correctly. Sunny booked our appointment before we paid a deposit, just to be sure that we could get the time we wanted, and he included EVERYTHING in the quote (plumber, removal, etc.) so it was very comprehensive. He was also so patient showing me every single slab in the warehouse (in 100+ degree weather!) and giving me the ACTUAL prices on each slab so that I could figure out what the cost of the job would be (no other company was willing to do that). It made it much easier for us to sit and go back and forth on stone ideas without always having to contact Sunny and say, "what would this cost?" ; My installation was scheduled for 9 am on a Friday. By 10, nobody had showed up and nobody had called me. I called the office, and to my dismay, Sunny was out that day. Instead, I had the dubious pleasure of speaking with an incredibly rude woman who acted like I didn't know what I was talking about (even down to my last name--"WHAT is your last name? That's your LAST name??") and insisted that my job wasn't until 1 pm (when I assured her that it was scheduled for 9 and that the PLUMBER was scheduled for 1, she finally said, "Ohhh, yeah, well, the board is really hard to read."). She finally tracked down the installers and told me they would be there around 10:15 or 10:20. Well, they finally showed up at 10:45. If this didn't make me frustrated enough, once they started laying the pieces in place, it became apparent that the job hadn't been done with quite the care I had hoped. The smallest piece, which fit between the range and a wall of cabinets, fit oddly because it hadn't been cut to fit the cabinet quite right (note that they had come in, measured it, and gone to the parking lot and cut it just a few minutes before). As a result, the cabinet on which the piece was set jutted to the side, sticking out from under the stone. When I pointed this out, one worker fixed by just forcing the slab into the soft wood cabinets beside it to make it flush. Stone 1, cabinets 0. But that wasn't the end of it. Once all the pieces were placed, flush to the wall, I noticed that the overhang on the long side of the L-shaped corner slab was less than the overhang of every other piece by more than 1/2". So this piece was not the right depth--it was cut too short. They assured me it would be fine to have a gap between the countertop and wall that would be covered with the backsplash (thank goodness we had decided to HAVE a backsplash and not just do tiles!). So they just pulled the piece forward until it was about the same overhang as the other pieces and glued it in place. I just try to forget that beneath that backsplash there is a gap larger than half the thickness of the stone. When I discussed this with Sunny even he was appalled. Sunny did give me a small discount for that situation (I took and sent him photos) and was understanding about my disappointment. And the counters look great, we are pleased with the result. I just wish there hadn't been so much corner-cutting. Precision Stone Design is VERY lucky to have Sunny, which is the element on which I most recommend them. Their prices were, by far, the most competitive, but I admit that some of that seemed reflected in the care of their workmen and the quality of their customer service.
Description of Work: We had a granite countertop with backsplash installed our condo's kitchen. If this were a review for Sunny, the sales rep to whom I was assigned following my Angie's List inquiry, it would be straight-A. Unfortunately, Sunny seems to be the exception, not the rule.

The selection process was relatively easy. Precision Stone was not far from our home and granite warehouses were also within a reasonable driving range and close together. We were fortunate to have Amanda as our salesperson. I called her on the phone and an appointment was scheduled for measurements, which was done very quickly and professionally. The person that came out to measure also brought an initial batch of countertop samples for us to look at. We met with Amanda and she explained the next steps. We went to a few warehouses and made our selection, got a final quote same day, and the install was scheduled within 5 days. From start to finish the project took less than 2 weeks. We did have a couple of issues,,, the seam was not done to our satisfaction and their was a minor scratch (which was pointed out by the installer). These were resolved to our utmost satisfaction and the credit goes to Luis, a talented young man, who did a great job with the repairs. Amanda was personable, knowledgeable, very easy to work with and she always responded to our concerns and questions quickly. I also found others answering the phone to be friendly, offering to help if Amanda had stepped away from her desk. We did have 2 other quotes, but we made the right choice, and Amanda made the difference in our decision.

We selected our granite, and the countertops turned out beautiful! The installation went great even though we had some problems with the cabinet edges. They took care of that as well. Their attention to detail was really good. This was the easiest part of our entire kitchen remodel! We will definitely use Precision Stone again.

We decided to replace our laminate counter tops with granite counters. After getting some recommendations from friends and family, I decided to get and Angie's List subscription to check out the ratings of all of our prospects. I had also seen an ad in one of the circulars that you get in the mail for Precision Stone so I thought I would check that one out too. After reading all of the reviews I decided to take a trip out to Precision and I am very glad that I did. It was a real "one stop shopping" experience at Precision. Gina went over my kitchen plans and gave me an estimate right on the spot. Even better, they were having a sale and the granite was discounted. The estimate was comprehensive and included removal and haul away of our old counters, the steel supports needed for our breakfast bar, and hook up of our plumbing. This was a huge plus because all other estimates had the removal, haul away, supports and plumbing as "by owner". In addition, their pricing was very competitive and in some cases better. The measuring and installation went very smoothly. The installers were prompt, professional, and clean. We had only one minor issue regarding a back splash during installation and it was rectified on the spot. To me, that is the sign of a good company. Since installation we have been extremely pleased with the counters. They look great! I would recommend Precision to anyone looking to have their counter tops replaced. They did a great job.

Visited Precision Stone Design and picked out the granite we wanted. Arranged with Amanda to have someone come out to measure our countertops and table top. They came out on a Tuesday, we were happy with the estimate, and they installed a week later. We went back a second time to pick out another slab of granite for the table top. The installers did a great job. They were on time and any cutting they had to do was done in our garage. They ran into a problem with our backsplash being cut too short. It was nobody's fault because when the old countertop was removed you saw it had been built up on the cabinet with plywood. They took our old table top with them and came back on Friday with newly cut backsplash and our new granite table top. We were very happy with the services that were performed and would recommend Precision Stone Design.

Overall: I highly recommend this company, especially if you are new to the counter top shopping as I was. Great experience. The team, especially Gina, at precision was awesome at helping us think about which granite to choose and they were very patient with us as we went through the process. Gina was very responsive, even getting back to us on email while abroad and in the evenings when we had questions. The lunt location has granite slabs on site which is very nice. Many of the other places we got competitive quotes from had a separate storage with the slab that you had to drive all over Chicago to get to. Precision was very competitive on price. They were not the lowest but their service/ assistance/ expertise far outweighed the few low ball offers we got. Buyer beware when dealing with granite installation companies. Many will price out a job with their "standard" granite and it will come in much lower. That is because the granite they are pricing you is junk and they are overcharging you for it (even though the total is less). You should always see your granite and pick it out at the storage place. Precision's granite quality sold us. We found 2 awesome slabs that were even on clearance. The installation guys were very knowledgeable. Several companies told me we would not be able to install granite in our bay type window above our sink because the granite was too thick. Precision seemed to not worry about it and gave us several option including filing the granite down or helping us rework the wood underneath the window to give clearance. We took the old corian off to give them as a template and it turns out we just removed a couple of wood shims and the spacing was perfect. Glad we didn't listen to the other companies! We could have easily ended up with wood top in our window which would not have been good. Also these other two companies said the shape would be very difficult to cut and complained about that. Precision had no problem with it. We gave them the template and they nailed it. I will do more work with new counters in the future and precision will be first on my list to get a quote from. Precision did forget one of our backsplash pieces but they came right back out and finished the job no problem. All companies make mistakes and it is great when a company immediately responds in a positive way. My experience is that contractors usually disappear after they get your money.... precision did not do this and made sure we were happy. You may have to wait a little bit longer as Precision seems busier than some of the other companies. I was more than fine with that.. there is probably a reason they are more busy than the competition!

Initially we contacted Precision Stone and set up a time to review the granite. We traveled to their location and selected the granite which the salesperson also advised would work well with the backsplash sample we brought. The installers arrived on the agreed day and time. The installation went well. The installers were professional and courteous. The salesperson followed up to see how everything went. We would highly recommend Precision Stone.

We were looking to have counter tops in our kitchen replaced, and in one case, extended. We went to Precision Stone to find out what was involved and get an approximate cost. We had an approximation of square footage and Sunny was able to give us an idea of the ranges in cost, primarily depending on the granite chosen. He was very patient in explaining the types of tops and gave us a list of granite suppliers so we could go choose from granite slabs. We looked at a lot of slabs and finally chose one. The supplier sent it to Precision Stone. We then went back and chose the kinds of edges, a sink replacement and other details. Sunny sent someone out to measure for cutting the slabs. The person who measured was very careful and very precise. I was then able to get a price and set a date for installation---only a week later! On installation day, they were on time and were extremely considerate of us and our home. They were finished in a couple of hours. They then sent the plumber to make the connections and by the end of the day we had a new looking kitchen. Their work was fabulous. I smile each time I clean the kitchen--so you know it's good!

Overall it went well. Sunny was very responsive and professional. They are open on the weekends, which was a HUGE plus. We went to their shop with our counter top plans and a sample that was already chosen from a big box store. They gave preliminary estimate, which came in slightly lower than big box store and much lower than initial bid we received from our designer. Someone came out to measure a couple of days later. That person made a template and it took a couple of hours to measure (sort of a complicated layout). A few days later our tops were fabricated and brought for installation. There was an incorrect measurement on a portion of the counter, so we went about a week with the counter tops unfinished. They did return one evening at our convenience to finish the counter. There is one area that is not exactly according to the plans, but it looks and works just fine. It was a complicated design.

The person came out to provide an estimate. He arrived promptly and answered a great many questions. He provded quite a few samples and went back to the truck to locate other samples of the colors I was seeking. He measured for construction and provided a copy of the diagram. I received an estimate from Amada with the color that I liked at the house. Of course, the final price is dependent upon the actual selection of granite. You do need to see the entire slab! We went to the showroom to pick out the granite slabs the following weekend. We required two slabs and were concerned with the color. Gina and the gentlemen in the warehouse were very helpful (above and beyond) to permit us to see the two slabs side by side in the same lighting. That was not easy to do because it required a crane and they were busy with other customers. Gina and the folks in the warehouse moved it without complaint or upset. They wished to please their customers. The company was able to install about 10 days later. The installers arrived on time. They removed the old counter tops (formica) with no damage. We had tile over the old backsplash that we wanted to keep and were concerned about damage on removal. There was none! We were keeping existing cabinets and they discovered that the original cabinets installed by the builders were not level. This was brought to our attention immediately. (Formica will flex, granite will not). I was concerned with appearance but the installers provided an idea that could correct the problem; my husband was able to confirm this. When it came to installing the granite, they were extremely meticulous and took pride in their work. Every decision about placement of back splash and overhang (down to the 1/4 inch) was addressed to assure that everything was to our satisfaction. We had a butler's pantry with unusual sizing; we were consulted regarding overhang and backsplash. We also had tile over the counters that we wanted to keep, but our existing cabinets not being level could have interfered. We told them they could remove the tile as needed to ensure that the appearance of the granite was good. When they leveled the counters, the tile would interfere. They told us they could remove it but since the difference was so slight on one side, they could grind it down (1/4 inch) and continue to install. We were thrilled. They cut the tile down (without damaging the wall) and proceed. The granite is beautiful and we were able to keep the tile instead of replacing it. I had scheduled the plumber to come the next morning because I wanted everything to be totally set before the plumbing was attached. He arrived about 2:00 on the day of installation but was pleasant when I told him there was a mistake. (They were still installing the granite anyway). He arrived the next day on time. I had a minor leak and called the company. The plumber was able to come out within 2 hours and corrected the problem. Although he installed a new piece, the plastic must have been misformed in some manner. He replaced that piece and corrected the problem. They did everything they could to satisfy their customer.

They were great and came out within 24 hours after I called to give me an estimate. They called me very early that morning to schedule a time to come out to talk about the bid. We got quotes from four different granite companies before deciding on Precision Stone Designs. I walked in to their showroom in July, without an appointment, and left 15 minutes later with a written quote. Their price was the lowest of all we sought, in some cases by as much as $1,000. I called them on a Monday letting them know that I wanted to go ahead with getting an in-home estimate and on Tuesday someone was out to measure and I had a finalized quote by noon on Wednesday. I went out on Saturday to chose my sink and choose my slabs and had the counters installed the following Thursday. I can not say enough about their quick turnaround time and responsiveness. I have never had granite or had countertops installed so I had plenty of questions. Daniel, my sales consultant, very patiently answered each of my many questions within 30 minutes of me sending the email. They have a nice showroom with plenty of remnants to choose from and their slab suppliers are about 10 minutes away so I was able to go to both to find the perfect slab for our kitchen. They offered a free 18 gauge stainless steel sink which I upgraded to 16 gauge for about $150. The crew that came to do the install were courteous, meticulous and professional. The plumber that came was awesome! He installed a new disposal and two faucets, including a Delta ToucH2O in the kitchen. He noticed our valves in the kitchen were leaking and replaced them with two he had in his toolbox and only charged us for the part. Overall the countertops totally transformed our kitchen. Precision Stone Designs was awesome from start to finish!

We had been planning our kitchen and bathroom remodel for months and had been to several granite showrooms before and during the project. We had very specific thoughts about what the granite should look like but could not find the perfect style. Even the largest showroom in the Chicago area did not have anything we wanted. I consider Precision to be a smaller provider, but we found their prices to be reasonable and their selection of granite, while smaller, had many unique styles and we found one we really liked. We also were able to find a piece of quartz in their remnants that we could use to make our vanity. In terms of service, worked fast to get measurements quickly after the cabinets were installed. Within days they had cut the countertops and came out to install. It took them about half a day to install kitchen countertops, a large 2 level island and a bathroom vanity. The crew was fast and courteous, and they worked easily with the electrician and carpenter that were also working in the kitchen that day. I would definitely recommend Precision.
Description of Work: Precision Stone fabricated and installed custom granite countertops for our kitchen and a quartz vanity top for our bathroom. Granite and quartz were selected from what was in stock in their showroom.

They were recommended to us by someone else. This was our first granite countertop company. We went to the store and they were very knowledgeable, reasonable, and pleasant. The first install didn’t match, but they were extremely willing to come back to cut another slab and replace it. They are concerned about us as their customers and want to keep us happy. We also spoke with the owner and she is a very nice lady. We would hire them again.
Description of Work: They replaced out countertops.

Precision Stone Design installed two granite vanity tops in two of my bathrooms. My husband and I visited their showroom to choose the type of granite that we wanted. The person we worked with was very helpful and suggested that we consider using a remnant for one of the bathrooms because the vanity was not very big and this would save us money. The crew that came out to install the counters did a great job, I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: I had granite vanity tops installed in 2 bathrooms.

I came to know about Precision Stone Design LLC through Angie’s list. They were exceptionally good. I was very pleased with their work. They did everything whatever they said. Their price was right and I was extremely happy with their work. They gave me $50 discount by mentioning Angie’s list. The owner of the company that I met was very nice and knowledgeable. It was a positive experience for me. I would recommend them to other members also. I would use their service in the future too.
Description of Work: I used Precision Stone Design LLC service for countertops. I last used their service in September.
