Finding out you have no brakes is no fun. My project car is a mish-mash of parts and in various stages of rust and "creative fixes." I reached out to my friends who highly recommended Buckley's Auto and some others. I visited each shop that was suggested. Buckley's wasn't the cleanest (but its a garage so that's not high on my list) and hand's down I felt Erik was the mechanic I wanted to work with. He took on the project and being a "shadetree" mechanic we figured out an approach that took care of what was needed (new brakes) and that had some extra work on some areas that would just be easier to do while he had the car on the lift. Erik was great to work with, very reasonable, and his labor costs are fair and reasonable. He found some other things that he felt could be done as well, let me know, and we figured out what I could do myself and what he should do--again, great collaboration. I will be bringing my cars to Erik and will recommend him to others.
Description of Work: "Project car" needed to new brakes. They replaced the entire break system, performed some additional inspections, and applied a chassis coating.

Great. They are pros. Was in and out as scheduled and having driven car for several months, I can say they did a great job.

Description of Work: Eric and his team did a great job rescuing our car from the scrap heap. We thought our overheated engine meant we'd need to buy another car. The dealership service department concurred. But Eric knew it was repairable and we're now happily back behind the wheel. Thanks Buckley Auto!

My children had their cars serviced at Buckleys and were very satisified with the results and price. So upon their high recommendation, I took my Toyota Camry for service due to a knocking noise in engine. Eric who runs the facility inspected the engine and found that the car was burning oil. The pistons and rings need to be replaced in the car and the cost would be approximately $4,000. Eric related that the car is not that old to have this problem and didn't the Schaumburg Toyota dealership (where I took the car on time for all oil changes) notice the car was using an excessive amount of oil? I advised Eric this was all news to me. Eric without hesitation looked up on the computer if any recalls were made for my car regarding this problem. Sure enough, Eric found the recall, called the Elgin dealership as he felt they were move reliable, and proceeded to find out for me what I needed to do to have Toyota fix the problem. He than advised me of the procedure. I am now doing the "test" part per Toyota with the car. If the car fails the test when I bring it in after 1,000, they will contact Toyota who in turn should contact me and we go from there. If it weren't for Eric, I would never have now about this problem. I feel the Schaumburg dealership would have continued to just change the oil without fixing it as this job can run up to $4,000. Eric said it is a huge job. I could not thank Eric enough for his honesty, and for going out of his way to find out about the problem and how to fix the problem. He also did a tune up on the car and added oil so as not to burn the engine up. I could not believe how reasonable his price was for all the time and work done on my car. All in all... Eric is an exceptional professional . I will continue to take all my vehicles in the future to his facility for any work that may need to be done. I recommend his facility to everyone.

Eric is professional, very friendly, and helpful. From this first visit; I gather that he is a hard worker who looks to do a quality job at an economical price. Eric came highly recommended from a friend and I am glad that I took the chance to try Buckley Auto.

We had been having problems with our heat in our 2005 Honda Pilot since I tried to treat a small radiator leak that the dealership said I had. I used an off-the-shelf stop-leak solution and it clogged up my heater lines and possibly my heater coil. I didn't want to return to the dealership since their solution was a new radiator. We heard about Buckley's through a friend and decided to get them a try. Eric, the owner, said we could come in any time that was convenient for us and he'd had a look. He would have preferred that we dropped it off since this is a fix-it-shop with no waiting room, but it just worked out that I would have to wait. Eric was very accommodating. He had his father, who started the business in Arlington Heights about 30 yrs ago, drive me to the local McDonalds and said he would pick me up when the car was ready. Eric had worked on similar problems and suggested an aggressive flush. Roughly 90 mins later, the father picked me up in my well warmed and heat-operational Pilot. The price was very reasonable and Eric gave me some good suggestions on how to keep the Pilot going for another 150k miles. I would recommend Buckley's and Eric to anyone in the area looking for an honest and knowledgable mechanic who is priced right.
Description of Work: Forward and backward radiator flush to clear lines and improve heat.
