Lifeline Plumbing Heating & Cooling

I purchased and A.L. deal for an inspection of our water heater and plumbing. Eric arrived at my new home between the time window that was promised. The deal was prepaid, however, he still took the time to be very professional and thorough with his explanations of what he was doing as well as answered all my questions and concerns. I was very pleased that he didn't rush through the job. He wore covers over his shoes make sure to keep my floors clean. He also provided estimates for all the concerns he had as well as a replacement cartridge for my bathtub faucet set. I will be hiring him for other repairs my husband and I had in mind.

The plumber Keith was REALLY good. I appreciated his quick understanding of my situation and was able to locate the problem almost immediately. He then proceeded with fixing my issue with all the parts already on his vehicle. He was very thorough with my job and even cleaned the copper pipes which made them look like new again. Overall I was satisified with the work that he did and it was also nice that I was able to get someone out to my house on the same day I called.

Our original appointment was scheduled for Sunday, the 15th. LOVE that they are open 7 days a week so there are no "extra hour" fees!! Tim, my plumber, called me with updates on his arrival time - all within the projected window given - and he arrived 10 minutes earlier than he projected. He was courteous, professional, and very approachable and friendly when answering all of my questions. He did an assessment of the situation and gave me three options. While I could have chosen the cheapest option and saved $400, Tim and I discussed longer term solutions and the mid-range priced option really was the best long term, and part of a bigger solution. Unfortunately, he had to return the next day with different parts- which is why the appointment took two days (had I taken the cheaper option, all could have been handled same day). He came back as scheduled, and completed the work. Everything was kept clean, tidy and when he was done, it looked like no work had taken place. I HIGHLY recommend this company. I have even used them again on a different matter because of how impressed I was with their quality workmanship, professionalism and customer service.

Fast, responsible, the employee came back the same day with the right water heater, even though it was Sunday. Thank you so much!

I called on a Saturday and got a calling service. Lifeline called me back within 5 minutes to send a technician. I was pleased to find out Saturday was considered 'normal' service hours. A technician arrived within two hours, as promised, calling me en route to give an arrive time. We had just recently moved into the home, and Eric was very professional and walked me through how our plumbing system was set up, researched the problem, and advised on multiple options to correct the situation. After leaving, he gave a follow-up phone call regarding one of the suggested solutions. I was very impressed!

It was very good service. They did an excellent job and I am very happy with their work. They are on Angie's List. They responded to me quickly. They came out and did what was needed. It was very efficient.

Sam and his helper (can't remember his name) arrived promptly at my home and were very careful about covering their shoes, etc. They worked quickly and efficiently and were professional at all times. Sam showed me what was wrong with the existing flange and explained why it wasn't working properly and what he would need to do. I had purchased a big deal (installation of new Gerber Viper toilet at a cost of $335), but the work on the flange required additional effort and time so I understood fully the add'l charge of $162. When they left, my bathroom was very tidy, and my new toilet works great! I definitely would contact Lifeline Plumbing in the future if I have a need for their service and would recommend them to my family and friends. I'd also insist on having Sam and his helper do the work. Can't miss with this combo!

The Lifeline service person arrived in the time window specified. Keith was obviously very experienced as well as personable, and explained what he was about to do quite clearly. Our exterior faucet was original to the house and the new one is a VAST improvement. We will be working with Lifeline again (we got an estimate for a new water heater which we will be following up on), as they were very responsive and did an excellent job!

They did a beautiful job. Nice customer service and very friendly.

It was completed in a few hours. The installer had to go to Crest Hill to pick up the system but was back in no time like he promised and got going on the installation. He showed me how easy it is to test they system and I feel at ease knowing that it is in place now.

While scheduling was fantastic, they were late by about an hour and charged us a service fee to come out here after I explained the issue over the phone. The plumber indicated there was nothing he could do without opening up the drywall in the ceiling and then after doing this would only been able to provide an estimate. We felt put-off; he wasn't very helpful and didn't give us any information until asking a lot of prodding questions. It wasn't a smooth experience. I called the office, which did help a bit.

He was very good he knew his stuff. He was upfront about how much it would cost and how much of a pain it was going to be because we would have to tear up the floors. We liked him enough to invite him to work on some things down in the basement!

Both guys - one was very experienced and the other was just learning the job -- showed up on time and knew what they were supposed to do. They handled the job very professionally and answered all my questions. They weren't able to fix one part under 1 of the sinks, but it was due to a problem with the building my condo is in. Everything else went smoothly though. Lifeline, I thought, was competitively priced....they definitely were not 1 of the cheapest companies, but the discount I found here on Angie's List was very helpful and made having Lifeline do the job more cost-effective.

Everything was fine. Keith, the tech, was knowledgeable and went over a couple of thing we should look into in the future . He wasn't really pushing for a sell. He forgot to turn the pilot light back on and we called him and he explained over the phone how to turn it back on to have hot water. He gave me some quotes for additional work.

Everything in the lead up to the service went well. The guys that showed up to perform the service were on time, professional and knowledgeable. I felt confident in the quality of service I paid for and received. The issues I have, which impact my review, have to do with the additional services they quoted (various installations, new sump pump w/battery back-up, etc.): 1) In general, every service seemed very expensive...even for plumbing...and for the most rudimentary ones (trim, fixtures, etc.). 2) There was an obvious attempt to upsell me on equipment. The home had what seemed to be the original sump pump, which was still working after 11 years, but appeared to be on its last legs. I was looking into getting a new one with a battery back up. The unit they pointed me to was $6000 installed, and was enough to drain Fox Lake. I didn't sense a consideration for what was the best product for me, just the high-dollar sell. What was amusing is they didn't even have any brochures or literature to leave on the equipment they were trying to sell me. The only thing they provided to assist me in making any sort of informed decision was the manufacturers website (no model number however), which I had to write down on the quote sheet. In the days of the internet, did they really expect me to decide to spend thousands of dollars based on a piece of paper with handwriten notes and prices??? I guess this tactic may work when a basement already has a foot of water in it, but question if that lends itself to a good customer experience or building trust among customers. I ended up getting a second opinion (as everyone should), and went with another plumber. After the inspection, they pointed me right to a product that intuitively fit my needs, and even left me a brochure so I could research the manufacturer and the products they were trying to sell me!!! It was a third of the cost of the product Lifeline quoted me, and was very well reviewed online. As a point of clarification, I was looking for the right product for my needs, not just the cheapest. The installations of the other items were also less expensive. Overall, I have no problem with the work Lifeline actually did, which is why I'm giving them a "C". Their reviews on AL are good, so they're obviously doing something right. I just won't use them again based on my expectations of customer experience. The upsell is something that usually comes from the top-down in terms of the culture set in an organization, so I don't fault the guys for that. As always, just get a second opinion when possible.

Had a $200 coupon for $111. Thought this would be sufficient for requested work, but got an additional bill for $115. Spoke with owner and he made an adjustment of $50, which was fair. Just didn't understand the $115 charge.

I decided not to go through with the deal as I didn't feel comfortable completing the transaction.

Very nice, very personable. Seemed very knowledgable, and did a good job. All aces.....

Plumber gave opinions that differed from the other 2 plumbers. My opinion is just inexperience, he was a very young man. Nice young man though! I went with a different company to do the work, local company that was more familiar with the age of the plumbing and style of house.

Excellent. Customer service was excellent. The serviceman had excellent knowledge and explained everything from start to finish and went over everything after work completed. Probably took about 4 hours. I will always use Lifeline Plumbing from now on, based on their response time, customer service, work done, and professionalism.

Corey did a great job of explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. I learned a little bit along the way. He was professional and I would contact him again for future projects.

Eric and Mike were timely, courteous, friendly, thorough and professional. They did an outstanding job, removed and disposed of the old sink and left the laundry room perfectly clean. I cannot recommend them highly enough. An enjoyable transaction. I will use them again should the need arise.

The ad was very misleading and I would have not purchased this deal if it did not service Chicago.

The company sent a technician the day after I called for service. He arrived on time and worked expeditiously. The toilet needed its worn rubber stopper, inside the tank, replaced, because it was not always closing properly, causing run-on. The work took only about 30 minutes. He gave me several options, but I chose just to replace the worn part of this time.
