Lowe's sent out their specialist to measure the roof and prepare an estimate. He emailed me a quote a few days later. It was about triple what I expected! I emailed back and mentioned the high cost, along with what I thought the price should be. To be fair, I admitted that Lowe's estimate included better-quality materials than the estimate I had gotten a year earlier from a different company, and Lowe's included a complete tear-off. The man who gave me the estimate had left on vacation, and I was unable to get any answers or responses from anyone else, so I ended up going into the store about 2 weeks later. I talked to a couple of people and mentioned my surprise at the lack of communication. I also mentioned that I would really like Lowe's to do the work but I didn't have the nearly $9,000.00 they wanted. A sale came along during the meantime, and the Shasta White Trudef Duration Architectural Shingles were on sale for 10% off. There was also a way to get 6 months same-as-cash financing. I think my sincerity, honesty, and persistence paid off, because Lowe's offered to do the whole job for a little under $7,600. The price included everything, including all materials, site prep, tear-off, up to 64 sq. ft. of plywood replacement, tax, delivery, labor, waste haul-away, and clean-up of everything; in other words, a new and better roof, everything included. I also asked for 12 months same-as-cash financing, which they gave me. The only catch was that I needed to apply for a Lowe's credit card. That seemed fair, so I did so. I got an $8,000 credit line and financed the whole project. I actually paid off the entire amount in 7 months, but it was nice to have that cushion of a few extra months. As a bonus, I just got an extra $250 on my federal tax rebate, because the shingles are Energy-Star rated. To sum things up, I would certainly recommend Lowe's. The job they did was high quality, and it only took 1 day to do the actual work. The communication problem, I'm sure, was only due to their rep's vacation. I'll use Lowe's again.

The price was by far the lowest of the three quotes I obtained. In fact I had reservations due to the low price so I went back into the Lows store to discuss and make sure I was having comparable product and confidence in the quality of workmanship. Needless to say I was convinced as they got my business. Why I picked Lows ---- 1) the installer works for Lows therefore Lows is responsible for the product, workmanship, and insurance. 2) all measurements were made twice, first by the sales person and again by the installer BTW this also gave me an introduction the the installer prior to the work being performed. 3) the replacement time was about 5 hours, during that time two Lows representatives were on site to make sure the project was going to my satisfaction, I also had a followup phone call the next day to verify I was satisfied. I will always get two or three quotes for any project but Lows will always be one of them. I am a very satisfied Lows customer!!!
Description of Work: I had two windows and two doors replaced. The windows were vinyl Pella inserts so they are a little smaller than the old ones. This was also the lowest cost option as they did not have to remove the original window frames. The doors are pre hung steel with 9 lite grid inside and outside. I also purchased new knobs and dead bolts. Lows pined the new locks to match my existing key, for no additional charge, love it!!!
