Description of Work: He and his son painted the inside of the house. A lot of paint was spilled on the floors, and you could see where they tried to get it out which only made it worse. When I mentioned it, he responded that it had been done before when the floors like the entry way had not been painted since the wood floors were put in. Also, the price was to include moving the furniture which my friends did. My friends also replaced the hardware on the doors and windows. One of my friends told me he did not paint the around the whole windows in one of my bedrooms. He was always talking on the phone with one hand and painting with the other. He liked to tell me how many years he had been in the business and how good he was - maybe before but I thought he was messy and lazy for the most part. My friends thought so too.

Description of Work: Painted a bedroom, ceiling, walls and closet. Very professional, we would definitely use the company again.

Description of Work: Painted living room, sun room, kitchen, 2 bedroom, 1,office room, 2 bathrooms,3 closets, 1 pantry, walls going down to basement including all trim and baseboards with two coats. Beautiful work plus cleaned up. I wood definetly hire them again and will recommend them to friends and family.

Description of Work: One man crew to prep and paint stairwell. Did wor well,took 5 hours. Was surprised t was only one person, but got work, completed and looks good.

Description of Work: John, the owner of J and J Decorating, and his 20+ year old son were contracted to paint our office space. Their bid was competitive. They arrived on time each day and completed the job on time. The quality of work was exceptional.

Description of Work: J & J are still working on my place. I'm having a lot of unusual painting done on Brick / Walls / Wood walls, etc. Can't all be done at once as renovations still underway. John & his son have been marvelous about the crazy schedule, & the work they've done thus far is absolutely amazing !!! I think any other painter would have given up by now. He & son are JUST WONDERFUL ! Haven't gotten price yet, but he has steered me in directions to SAVE money. I could not be happier & would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to anyone. If anyone want's any painting done, you would be doing yourself the best favor by using J & J Decorating. Lynn S.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List deal for 8 hours of drywall repair. I had recessed lighting put in my living room and needed the ceiling repaired. Two people arrived on a Saturday and completed the work. They did an excellent job, and I was very impressed. You couldn't even tell chunks of the ceiling had been removed. I have other minor drywall work that needs to be done in my house, but I would be hesitate to call them again, because an offhanded comment had been made about how far my location (Arlington Heights) was to where they lived (Crystal Lake), and they weren't making much money off me with the purchase of my deal. That made me feel a little guilty, so I will have to find someone a little closer to my house for my future products. I would also recommend they don't list Arlington Heights as a service area in their deals in the future if maximum profit if their main concern.

Description of Work: The experience was fine but I changed my mind because the job appeared bigger than I thought. I was hoping for a straight paint job but after J came to look he pointed out that things had to be patched and holes filled. There weren't a ton to do but I either would have to pay J to do it and then the job would be more than the 8 hours or I could do it myself and then they would just paint. I was hoping that the whole thing could be done in the 8 hour time. I think I just over estimated and if I am going to do all the fix it work than I might as well do the painting. The painting is the easy part.

Description of Work: paid for Big deal. Had to follow up with provider... It seem he was on vacation... The was informed he was to busy and would not be able to provide the service until end of August

Description of Work: John at J & J Decorating did email & speak with me over the phone. He finally had time to come look at the project, however he would not be able to start work for a couple months. I have no issue with him, he is just too busy trying to honor the other Big Deals that were purchased.

Description of Work: John was great from start to finish. My requests were not the norm but John had no problems and the finished product was exactly what I'd wished for. Great experience! Would recommend his services hands down!
