I had 2 outlets that were needing replacement. One wasn't working at all and in the other only one of the two plugs worked. Additionally the wiring running into these outlets from the basement were cloth shielded and I wanted them replaced as well. I called for an estimate, which Wade was able to give over the phone after asking a series of detailed questions. I decided to use Wilson Electrical and scheduled an appointment. Wade came out on time, and completed the job as described; there were no surprises and he stuck to the estimate. Overall, Wade was courteous, professional, and got the job done right. I'd use him again.

Communicated very well via email. Showed up on time and was very efficient. Charged exactly what he quoted. Will use again when I need an electrician.

My fiance and I have a 3 flat that needs quite a bit of electrical work...checking the existing wiring on the 2nd floor, running a new line from the circuit panel to kitchen, roughing in a few outlets. Make repairs to outdoor lighting and install a timer for front and rear lights. Install new fixture on motion sensor for rear. 1st floor lighting, once the floors are pulled up on the 2nd floor, install 8-12 can lights for our unit.They came to check out the building and discuss everything that we needed done, but then never provided an estimate.

I called this company on May 4th and left a detailed message requesting an estimate on some electrical work I need performed, and no one has called me back as of May 15th. UPDATE: I received a call from Wade on May 16th and he was helpful and professional. He said he had the wrong number for me in his notes, and he was proactive in reaching out to Angie's List to get my correct number so he could contact me. He is scheduled to come and give us an estimate next week. 2ND UPDATE: Wade came out to look at the work that needed to be done on May 23rd. He said he would provide an estimate within two days. I followed up with him on the 25th via text message, and he responded that it would be done "by this weekend". As of Monday morning I still have not received the estimate. We are now at 24 days after I first left a message, and 11 days after he called me back with his explanation of why he hadn't called me back in the first place. At this point I am going with a different electrician, and I feel stupid that I have wasted so much time waiting for a company who clearly is not interested in my business, simply because they had a good rating history on Angie's List. Very disappointed.

Wade was extremely accommodating to our schedules; he works on Saturdays and could come early or late. He explained all the work we needed, and told us who to call if it wasn't something he did. When we found out we needed a new line run for the ceiling fan which involved cutting into the drywall, he suggested, and we used, a drywaller who was terrific. Wade was efficient, personable, reliable and reasonable. His work is excellent.

They were responsive. They did quality service and professional work. Overall they did a good job. It was cost effective; it was a good price. Wade, the owner, is very easy to work with. He is personable. I preferred working with him over other people. I'm going to be using them again in a couple of weeks.

Wade Wilson handled the repairs; he was very friendly and professional and completed the work promptly. Would use again.

We hired Wade to repair a porch light that another electrician misinstalled but wouldn't come back to fix their mistake. He responded to my email inquiry within an hour of my sending it, and made arrangements to come to our house in the next two days! Later we asked if he could also change out the switch associated with the light, and he was fine with that. He was very professional, concerned that we got what we needed, and did a great job fixing someone else's mistakes. :) He was very pleasant and didn't mind my infant son watching him work. I just wish we had thought ahead enough to find some other things for him to do to fill out the hour of services! That was clearly our mistake :) We will definitely hire him again - we've found our electrician!

Wade was professional and efficient. There was some concern that the light fixture might not hang right due to the nature of the fixture, but Wade got it hanging just right.

At the completion of a previous project that went well, I asked Wade for an estimate for lighting projects we were considering. Over the next several weeks, I contacted him a couple of times times by e-mail following up on the request for the estimate. He said that he would get back to me but didn't. After we set up a time to talk on the phone, he wasn't available to talk and said he would call later that day. I never heard from him.

Wade showed up exactly on time and was extremely courteous. Garbage disposal didn't work and we thought it was an electrical issue. He tested the outlet and unfortunately the disposal was broken. He charged less than normal service call as there wasn't anything majorly wrong. He was extremely professional and answered other general electrical questions I had. Courteous and punctual and honest. Will definitely use him again.

The power had progressively gone out in the bedroom and bathroom. I called Wade and offered to come check it out within just a few hours of my call. When he arrived, it turned out to be just a simple matter of flipping the correct switch. The process took 10 minutes at most. He assessed the probable cause of the outage and gave me helpful tips on how to avoid another outage, and showed me how to do the simple fix which he had done. Wade only charged me for transportation! I found him to be courteous and prompt and he explained things to me in an understandable way. The good reviews I saw on Angie's List are well deserved. I highly recommend Wade and will call him again if I ever need electrical repair.

Wade and his employee Mark were incredible. They may have needed to look something up a time or two but they knew what they were doing. They took pride in being punctual and in doing high quality work. They should be brought in at the beginning of the project and describe ALL contract work to be done. They will know what needs to happen in correspondence to other contractors. (ie switch rings to be pulled out when new backsplash going into kitchen). I loved how clean they were. They used a dry vac to catch as much dust as they could while drilling into concrete. Make sure kids are not underfoot - this really made it hard for them to work as fast as they wanted to. Try to be cognizant of the fact that things underfoot could cause an accident. They will not move heavy furniture so make sure you do it. Two negatives we encountered: Needed to constantly nag for estimates to be delivered. The only reason we stick with them is because they were referred to us by a lighting store who couldn't say enough good about them. Once we did get them in to do the work though, we were very happy. Obviously they are busy because they are very good electricians. Some condescending attitude based on us not reading his contract through and through and me being late to the site the first day (I was actually on time but was parked a block and a half away and they weren't there when I drove past; otherwise, I would have stopped and let them in with my flashers on). But, it is worth it given the quality of work and at a very nice price. I am an interior designer who hired this team for a client. I will certainly call them again.

We have a family room that gets cool in the winter so we often have a space heater running, but the most central outlet kept tripping the circuit with the space heater. We want to move some audio/video equipment to that wall but wanted a reliable source of power first. Wilson Electric recommended putting that main outlet on its own dedicated 20 amp circuit to avoid overload. We also had a similar situation in the master bathroom with a hairdryer often tripping the circuit, so we put the upstairs bathrooms on their own dedicated circuit as well. Wade and Mark were very punctual and professional. Wade's time estimate to complete the job (3-4 hours) was accurate, even with some slight trouble they encountered. There was some conduit that was disconnected inside the drywall so they weren't able to fish the wiring through. They identified where they thought the disconnect was and picked the best place to cut open the drywall, which luckily was only the garage ceiling. Their diagnosis was correct, and they reconnected the conduit so they could complete the job. Wade even took a picture to show me the disconnected conduit. Wade answered all of my questions and seemed to know the electrical code well. We have some other needs for an electrician and Wilson Electrical will be the first ones we plan to call.

We had a circuit breaker pop in our condo in downtown Chicago that would not reset leaving a portion of our home without power. I called Wilson Electrical Services and Wade on a Monday morning and Mr. Wilson was able to make it out later that day to assess the situation. During the course of troubleshooting Mr. Wilson found that an overhead light had been miswired by the previous owner, a potential fire hazard unrelated to the breaker fault, and promptly corrected the wiring. Unable to immediately determine the cause of our original breaker fault Mr. Wilson returned the next day with a colleague to chase back the wiring. Success! They able to find and correct the fault in less than 1 hour and all again was right in the world. Thanks Wilson Electrical Services!

I contacted Wade because he had a large number of reviews on Angie's List and still had an "A" rating. Wade promptly returned my call and we set up a meeting. We did all the work on a rather short time frame, because we were leaving town and wanted the work done before we left. Wade coordinated with a general contractor, Pender Construction (review to follow later), to remove and replace the kitchen cabinets so that he could correct the hardwire issue on the microwave. Before that started, Wade and his assistant, Marc, began the work on replacing the fuses with circuit breakers. They accomplished all that work and then moved on to the kitchen. After Wade rewired the microwave, Brett Pender replaced the cabinets and Wade installed new LED under cabinet lighting. That lighting was expensive. However, Wilson Electric did not control that price. The charges for their work seem reasonable. However, I did not consult with any other electricians, so I don't know how Wilson's price compares to others. Aside from the major work done, there were a lot of minor issues which Wade and Marc also addressed. They were still able to finish within our timeframe. The work was done in a very timely and professional manner and Wade was very responsive to questions throughout the process. He would reply either by phone or e-mail. Since we had not yet moved in, we were not there every day to see the work. For that reason I appreciate his reponsiveness.

Initially it seemed like the problem might be in the ceiling fan, because that seemed to be the trigger for the short. Wade had a particularly hard task in getting the ceiling fan off because of a couple extremely stripped bolts, but he had a special tool and after 15 minutes of really working at it, he got the bolts out without damaging the ceiling fan. Excellent job there. After following the circuit through a couple outlets, he discovered it led outdoors onto our bedroom deck, where water had seeped into the outlet casing due to poor installation. The previous installer had apparently drilled holes directly into the back of the casing instead of using the proper tabs that swing out. He replaced the whole outlet and fixed the short circuit, overall taking about 2 hours and 15 minutes, but he only charged us for 2 hours of labor. Thanks Wade!

Mr. Wilson arrived promptly and attentively listened to our explanation of the problem then proceeded to troubleshoot. He quickly determined the problem and solved it. We are very impressed with his professionalism, expertise, and promptness. We have asked for a quote to upgrade our electric panel in the near future.

Everything went extremely well. Wade was prompt, professional & he fixed the problem in 15 minutes.
