Wade is awesome! I called in the morning and he came out the same day to look at 3 electrical outlets that had stopped working. He was in and out in an hour and rewired all 3 outlets to get everything back up and running. Granted, this was a small job, but I definitely recommend him and we will have him back to look at some other electrical issues we're having.

Sent email and was responded to within hours. Described problems and requested a estimate. He came the next day to look at everything.Said he would email estimate which took a few days. Once I accepted it work was completed. Having two people made it go fast. They were both poltie and seemed knowladgable and efficent.
Description of Work: Had several electrical issues. He and his helper did the following jobs. Fixed issue with a alarm adjusted wobbly ceiling fan and replaced a dimmer that was shorted out because of lightening

Wade Was Wonderrful! He called me back within an hour of my leaving a message. He listened to my description of the problem (and the other electrician's inability to diagnose it). He suggested it might be a Commonwealth Edison problem and also told me what the worst case scenario might be (electric meter needing replacement). He then told me his price for a troubleshooting call ($110) and asked if I wanted him to come out. I did. He said that he would be able to diagnose the problem within one hour. At exactly the arranged time, he was ringing my doorbell. He did the same things the previous electrician had done: inspected the electrical box, the meter, and the outside wiring. He then pointed out that the connection between the electrical wires from the main source in the alley and the wires going into the house was a temporary connection. Apparently a crew that did some remodeling for us years ago had never called Com Ed to do the final connection (or Com Ed had never responded). The temporary connection had deteriorated, causing voltage fluctuation and consequently flickering lights. He was able to show us the voltage fluctuations at the box. He then called Com Ed himself and, after being on hold for 20 minutes, explained the problem to them. He told me he would call them back in an hour to make sure they had scheduled a time to come out, and he would then call me back. Com Ed came out about two hours later, confirmed the problem, and fixed it. Wade called the next day to make sure that Com Ed had come and that everything was okay. He gave me the senior discount and the Angie's List discount--even though I told him I would gladly pay the full price. He also pointed out an unrelated problem at the box, which we will definitely have him correct. And he pointed out that the previous electician had reinstalled a light switch upsidedown--and corrected it. I was impressed with Wade's competence and professionalism, and I thought the fact that he called Com Ed himself (instead of telling me to do it) and called me back the next day was really above and beyond.
Description of Work: The lights in some of our downstairs rooms were flickering at intervals. We had another Angie's List top-rated electrician come out. After inspecting the electrical box, outside wiring, and some of the switches in the affected rooms, he (the other electrician) could not diagnose the problem.

Wade showed up to see the job and obtain information for the bid on time. He was pleasant, explained alternatives clearly and, when asked, gave a specific timeframe in which to supply the bid. He was a little later with the bid but responded immediately when reminded to submit the bid. I was able to do this via email . We set a mutually acceptable date for the work and, again, he showed up on time and he and his apprentice completed the job in an efficient manner. When we ran in to the usual exception that happens in a hundred year old building, he explained it clearly and gave me my options. When he left the job was done, the price had been adjusted for the changes and the work site was clean. I will give his name to others and will call him again when I need additional help.

I have a home office which suddenly lost all electric power. This happened on a Friday evening. It was important for me to get it fixed right away because I needed to have my computer and lights on so I could work. Wade came out Saturday afternoon and found there was a short in the electric wiring. It had not been wired properly when the basement was finished (years ago) and the wiring shorted out. He fixed it right away and he did not charge time and a half for a service call on a Saturday which was very nice. He also pointed out some wiring that needed to be replaced.

Wade Wilson came out to give me an estimate, and I immediately felt comfortable with his approach. I knew my newly rehabbed condo had some electrical coding issues, and he listened to what I wanted to do, my concerns, and thoroughly explained what needed to be done. He has a good knowledge of the code, and won?t suggest a work around, or quick fix. Currently he works on all the jobs himself so it is great to know that the person you meet for the estimate will be the person who shows up at your door to work in your home for an extended amount of time. This brings me to mention that while Wade was in my small condo for an entire day, his friendly, business-like disposition made the whole process much more pleasant. His journeyman, Mark, was also friendly, and knowledgeable. I appreciated that if there were multiple ways to do something, Wade would check with me to see which I option I preferred. We ran into a snag when the trims he brought for the can lights wouldn?t work. Wade took the time to search for other bath rated trims, and kept me updated with the progress. Unfortunately, the original can lights were an off brand and viable trim replacements could not be found which meant the whole can would need to be replaced. This turned out to be a good thing since the original cans were of poor quality, but it also meant cutting into the drywall. He re-quoted the job, and was able to arrange for his drywall contact to come at the same time so the job could be finished in a day. This saved me the trouble of having to get a quote for the drywall, and coordinating with two people to come and do their parts. I have and would recommend Wade for future electrical work.
Description of Work: Wade provided me a quote for the following: install an electrical outlet, correct under counter lighting to proper voltage, replace can light trims in bathroom, stabilize outlets so they don’t push in when plugging something in, correct wiring for a ceiling fan to take it off the dimmer switch, correct outdoor outlet and cover to be to code, correct fuse box circuits, and add an extra switch for can lights.

The gentlemen returned my call and went over a question/answer session with me. Helped me to notice the very subtle reset button located on the individual circuit breakers. I'll be honest with you, they didn't even look like buttons to me. I suppose it's a case of RTFM but Wade Wilson was very professional with me and his courtesy is very much appreciated.
Description of Work: Some wall outlets in each bedroom stopped working along with closet lights. I couldn't figure out why some went out and not all of them. I flipped the main circuit breaker but that didn't help either.

The process was really easy. He came one evening and did an assessment and gave us a quote. He was very straightforward, explaining that if all went to plan it would be around $250. If he ran into problems it might be more, and gave us a breakdown. A few days later he came over and spent an hour or two re-running the electricals. He ran into some issues, but the whole affair was only about $275. It was refreshing to work with a contractor who has integrity and a high level of professionalism.
Description of Work: We had Wade come in to replace some outlets that were constantly shorting out due to the ancient wiring in our condo building. He installed and rewired a few GFCI outlets in our kitchen. Wade was extremely friendly, professional, and qualified. We've had the work in for almost two years now and I've never had any issues with the electricals that he repaired. The reason for the delay in my writing this is that I had forgotten to submit a report originally, but I'm going to call him again to tackle more of our ancient wiring!

I just bought a condo and needed some electrical work on it to bring it up to code. I also had a few items I needed fixed. I called Wade and he responded that day. Wade came out and took a look at all the items I needed fixed. He gave me great advice on how I could save money, specifically finding a new feeder panel that fit the space I already had. I had a estimate shortly afterwards and we set a date for service. Wade came out at the designated time and he got to work immediately. Mark (one of his staff) was great as well--and both were awesome with my curious dog. The overall work was done early, but Wade discovered that I needed different circuits for my air conditioning unit and stove. His supplier was out of them so he had to come back. It took a bit of back and forth, and we had to reschedule once, but he came back and finished up the circuits. I also had him thread some speaker wire and install a smoke alarm. Wade even went the extra mile and re-mounted the speakers correctly and hooked them up to the receiver. A good electrician is hard to find, and Wade is a good one. He's on the level with what is needed and what will cost you more money. He also does all the work himself and the group of staff he uses are great as well. I'd call him again when I need more work done.
Description of Work: What I needed done: New feeder panel and breakers (some were double wired) GFI outlets in kitchen and bathroom (Wade also wired a strip I had above the counter into its own circuit to bring it up to code, saving me $$$) Installation of a new lighting fixture in the closet New light switches in the bathroom and kitchen Threading speaker wire in my living room Installation of hard-wired smoke alarm Fixed wire on garbage disposal What I needed done that Wade helped me figure out: My air conditioning unit and stove were not wired in the correct circuits. Wade helped me figure out the write ones I needed. Wade is great to work with, and he is incredibly busy. Be flexible in your scheduling and Wade will work with you on finding a time. The amount of work I needed required two visits and we had to reschedule once because a job ran over (he was trying squeeze me in). He let me know he couldn't come and even offered to come out on the weekend if I couldn't find a time during the week to reschedule. I appreciated that. The pricing was fair and there was no surprises.

Wade Wilson is the electrician and he is here today. I have the highest regards for him. This is his second visit to my house. The first time, he assessed the work and he didn’t charge us anything. Now he has come back to do the work. He quoted me $276 for his services. There is probably about three and a half hours worth of work.

Wade has been a consummate professional in all of our interactions. Our project required some flexibility as to timing (in relation to other repairs being performed in addition to the electrical work). He was extremely helpful and prompt in obtaining a permit, and was prompt in arriving to perform the work. He was thorough and efficient and very personable. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his company and plan to use them again in the future.

We live in a condo building and had Wilson Electric Company install security lights in our back yard. After that work was completed, we had Wade work on globe lights along our walkway that were not working. At all times, he was professional, showed up on time, and we have absolutely no complaints about this company. I am a board member of our condo association and would highly recommend Wilson Electric/Wade for any electrical work you need.

Wilson Electrical Services was outstanding. I called a total of 3 companies all "A" ratings at 4:15pm. First - was Wilson and I left a VM. Second - couldn't get me in until Tuesday of next week Third - was going to charge $175 for the 1st hour. Wilson called me back in 20 minutes and said he was working on another job and could be to my place by 6:30pm. He started working at 6:32pm - no joke! The job took just over 4 hours, not ideal but I had literal burned wires in my wall from a short and poor craftsmanship/oversight from the builder. He needed to remove old wiring, run new wiring and add a new breaker - much bigger job than I hoped it was going to be. No issue in how long it took as he thoroughly checked and double-checked everything! When he left, I felt very confident about the work that was done. Long story short he was extremely professional, his pricing was incredible and he was extremely meticulous. I would have no hesitation in using him again or recommending him to anyone - he was outstanding!

I needed various electrical/lighting things done in my condo in Chicago, including adding lights, adding and/or moving electrical outlets, adding ceiling fans & lights, adding light switches, etc. I decided to get 3 estimates for the work, and chose them from Angie's list based on previous reviews. Wade was very punctual when he came for the estimate, and it turned out he had even done some previous work for our Condo Association earlier this year. He was pleasant enough and took all his notes on his iPhone about what we wanted done. This was on Tuesday, August 2nd. He estimated that he would need through the weekend to generate an estimate for me, which I assumed meant about a week. Then I never heard from him again. I left Wade a follow-up voicemail, though I can't remember the exact date, I know it was either at the end of the second or third week after I had seen him. In the voicemail I left my cell number and email, in case he had lost them. I don't feel I was rude or accusatory in the voicemail, just curious as to when/if he'd be sending an estimate. Still no response to this day! I check my email and spam email every day, and I haven't seen anything or received a call from him since the day he came out for the estimate. Ugh.

Contacted Wilson electrical for an estimate and Wafe called back that night. We talked about the job and extent of the work and I felt very comfortable with his suggestions and hired him for the job. He was running a little late the day he was supposed to come out but he called to let me know and gave me an approximate time and showed up during that timeframe. When Wade looked at the fan the roofers had installed and the existing electrical in the attic he told me the attic would have to be rewired so the fan could always stay on and couldn't be connected to the on off switch that was currently there. He said he would have to get additional help since the job was now more complicated but could come back in a few hours with the supplies and help. Since I work from home and was expecting a client call in the afternoon we set up an appointment for the next day. Wade came with another electrican and did an amazing job hooking up the fan in the attic and putting in a new dining room light fixture. They were professional and very clean and tidy which I appreciated. I will certainly use Wilson electrical in th future and recommend them to anyone who needs a reliable electrician (I even mailed their business card to a friend in the suburbs who has been looking for someone relaibel to work in her house)

Apologies I didn't post sooner; work was done several months ago. Two visits for different issues, outstanding responsiveness and promptness. Wade knows his stuff - after fixing the problem, he inspected the circuit box at my request to identify any additional issues (one minor, fixed), and also took care of a recurring problem in the bathroom -- the circuit would blow and have to be reset. Wade explained changing the outlet would PROBABLY (but not absolutely guaranteed to...) fix the problem. We went ahead and it DID! And I do appreciate his explanation that it might not work, just in case it didn't. Wade's my electrician, but haven't had any problems lately to call on him.

Wade and Mark did a great job! Wade gave us the estimate and once we agreed on price and scope we set dates for the work. They came out to handle the small stuff during the week, and since we both work at home, we asked that they do the breaker and meter work on the weekend when outages would not interfere with our work. Everything worked out well!
Description of Work: We had both large and small jobs and they handled them all very well. They replaced three light fixtures and a ceiling fan and fixed a light switch/dimmer that went bad. They did a complete electrical inspection and replaced our breaker box and moved our electric meter. Wade pulled the city permit and we passed the city inspection easily. We will definitely use them again!

Wade was quick to return my phone call and spent time on the phone to discuss the problem. Wade suggested that I check a ceiling fan and explained why I needed to check it even though there was no power running to the fan. It turned out that a wire in the fan was the problem. Wade also clearly told me what work he would need to do if it turned out that the fan wasn't the problem.

Perfect service call. Wade was fast and accommodating re: scheduling the visit, and showed up early (after calling to ask if that was OK). He was efficient and careful with the work. He was very polite and engaging re: my watching him do the work -- I had the feeling this was not a tough job, but I was not about to do it myself given a healthy fear of electrical matters. But, having watched what he did, I am comfortable I could do something this simple next time. But, I will certainly call Wade with any matter beyond my minimal competency. His charge was at the lower end of what was quoted by his competitors. Also, to the extent you care about such things, it may bear noting that he is a nice, pleasant, smart guy.

We contacted Wilson Electrical Services to provide us an estimate for (1) installing a light fixture (approximately 33 lbs); and (2) installing recessed lighting in an office (approximately 6 recessed lights). Wilson was VERY quick in scheduling a time to come out to our home to give an estimate. Wilson called to let us know that he was running behind schedule the day of the estimate and gave us the option to reschedule for an entirely different day and time or to push back the time that day. We choose to push back the time for that day. We were pleased that Wilson let us know and gave us an option rather than just showing up 2 hours late. When he arrived another electrician was already there giving an estimate and Wilson was happy to wait in the car until that electrician was done. Again, we were very pleased with his professionalism. He told us he was running behind with estimates, but we should be receiving one by email within one week's time. Unfortunately, we never received an estimate. That is why I gave Wilson a "D" for responsiveness. Please note, we did not follow-up with Wilson. That is, we did not make any additional requests for the estimate other than the one made while he was in our home.

Wade was very honest and reliable. The fact that I could call and get this repaired same day is outstanding. We will use Wilson again in the future. No doubt.
Description of Work: The condo to which I am the president of had a number of hallway lights which didn't work. I wasn't sure if we needed new fixtures or if there was a switch problem. I tried flipping the switch at the electrical box but had no sucess. So I called Wilson Electrical and Wade called me back and fixed the problem same day. Best of all, Wade told me that if the fix was easy he woudln't charge me. Low and behold the fix was easy and he didn't charge me! Lastly, my wife appreciated his professionalism; upon arrive he presented her with his business card which comforted her that he was in fact the service man we were expecting and not a solicitor or burgler.
