We had an electrical fire in our office and I searched for the closest electrician to come in and check things out. When Kent arrived he walked throughout our space and told me everything in our office was not in code and the wires the previous electrician used were speaker wires. After his partner showed up and told him he was wrong he took it back and told me just the room we had issues with was not in code and he would have to re-wire the whole room. I asked for a verbal quote and he said $600.00, when I responded quickly with ok, lets get it done, he upped the quote to $800. I am sure he noticed that I was willing to pay the $600 and knew I had no idea what type of work was needed. Three weeks later when he finally showed up to start on the job he complained that I didn't have a ladder he could use and left for two days returning with a ladder. He also seemed surprised when I wouldn't let him start on the project until I had proper documentation and proof of a license. When he retured he handed me the paperwork I asked him to fill out blank and a letter from the IRS with his Employee ID on it. A week later replaced the transformer box and said he would have to come back to fix some other problems. Two more weeks later he came back with no ladder to fix some lights that had been shorting out when he was here before. He stood on our tables and took down the lights and then left to fix them at his office that is a block away. Another week later he came back only to find out that he had just changed the light bulbs. When he was here during business hours he would try to make conversation with anyone who walked by and talked loudlly on personal phone calls saying things like, I hope I don't get sued again, and using profanity. I previously had asked him if he would need to work after working hours and he said no and we wouldn't even know he was here. He showed up well after noon every time he said he would be here, looking like he just woke up and sometimes not at all. Finally once everything had been 'rigged' to work correctly, he asked me for a credit card payment. I told him the payment would go through our Accounting department in NY and he said, "No, My brother is going to be so mad, we need a payment now" I explained in the documents he signed said that he would get a check in the mail. He responded to me saying that I was probably going to have to call him again to fix the lights that he just fixed because the job wouldn't last long, and I told him I would never be calling him again. He then said, ''F this" and stormed out.
