The inspector was on time and very respectful. Did the work with full explanation and was happy to work around obstacles. He explained thoroughly all service that was recommended and did only the work I approved without any pressure to do more.

These are the pros. They were really fast to come out to clean our chimney and airducts. The scheduling was a breeze and they showed up on time. We just moved in in 1960's house and seems like the chimney was never serviced properly. They finished the job in timely manner and our chimneys are sparkling clean free from cracks and waterproofed from the outside! They were also awesome in communicating about pricing and project details. Shaun had great tips on how to better use the chimney and also gave great advice about keeping the airducts clean. Will be definitely hiring them again

Technician ran power brush down the stove pipe to remove the creosote without removing the firebricks and insulation in the fireplace insert. Cleaned up and was getting ready to leave when I asked him if he removed the bricks and insulation to allow all of the debris to drop into the bottom of the stove so that it could be vacuumed out. He said he forgot to remove the bricks and insulation. He then proceeded to remove the bricks and insulation and all of the material that the power brush removed came flowing down into the firebox. Technician vacuumed the debris and attempted to start reinstalling the insulation and bricks. After about 20 minutes, he supervisor arrived at the house and he worked with the tech to finally get the insulation and bricks installed in the top of the firebox. After inspection, the bricks were installed incorrectly and the insulation was saturated with creosote so I had to purchase new insulation and reinstall it and the bricks myself. I had requested that they also check the chimney cap and the spark arrestor which they did. The provided a quote for more then $2000 and advised that the mortar would have to be replaced on the first 5 rows of cap. The technician seemed a little incensed when I told him I would have to get additional quotes on the repair work before I would commit to that job being performed. The technician was extremely polite and worked hard. He just did not have enough experience to be solo on this job in my opinion. The supervisor was a little surly but I expect that was because he was frustrated on my behalf because of the problems the tech was having. The owner contacted me as the two were finishing up and apologized for the problems and reversed all charges for the service. Great customer service but poor technical knowledge. I would expect any certified, accredited chimney service company to be experts on all facets of chimney and fireplace/woodstove maintenance and repair. Especially in the WA state.

Shawn was great. Professional, good communicator and clean. Shawn inspected our chimney, sealed the chimney crown.

This company was the only company who responded to my request(s) to service our fireplaces. They responded and were to my home the next day. United Home Services representative, Gustavo inspected our chimneys and gave us quotes, completing the services very same day, which happened to fall on a Sunday. Highly recommend United Home Services to anyone looking to get their chimneys inspected, serviced and maintained. The representatives were polite, friendly and very informative, keeping us in the know every step of the way. We are pleased to know our chimneys are working properly. 5 stars from us.

the guys did a good job; were on time and professional. the only complaint i have is when they came in they tried to high ball the job by saying if the stove pipe was really dirty, it would be between 300-500 hundred dollars to clean. this happens all the time with people doing work for a home owner. i have learned from experience to say this was the bid, so never mind which i said. the guys said well let us take a look at least and and surprisingly, the went ahead and did it for the amount quoted. it seems many services try this; i've fallen for it in the past and paid way over the price of a job. it probably happens with single women more often. but i would like to tell professional services not to do this. the reviews i read about united all said they paid more than quoted so maybe it would be a better idea to ask from the get go if that in fact is a set price despite the quote over the home advisor site. it is bait and switch which is illegal. i got a quote from united about chimney repair but i do not want to hire them for the simple reason that i didn't appreciate trying to get more money....oh and the amount for the chimney repair is about double what it should cost. really nice guys, though, always always buyer beware

Chimney sweep was done well

I was told 149.00. However it needed a deep cleaning which turned out to be 350.00. It’s clean now but I wasn’t prepared for that amount but it had to get done

We contacted United Home Services on Saturday, and they were able to send people first thing Monday morning to clean and inspect our chimney. Shawn and Jesse arrived promptly within the time window offered, and did a very thorough, competent job. They found a crack in the fireplace area and repaired it, as well as the basic chimney cleaning work. Sure, it cost more than the original estimate, but the work was more complex than we had realized. You get what you pay for. We are very satisfied and will hire them again.

it was too expensive, i'd anticipated a bit more as it had been a while, but 240%? the reason for the rating, though, is that my fireplace was serviced at the end of August, and I didn't have a fire until the end of Sept. I noticed it wasn't burning well, and the next day I saw the chimney lid laying in the bushes. I called the company on a Sunday and got hold of a guy that told me i'd hear back from them the next day. didn't hear back so I called Tuesday. and then I called Wednesday and spoke with someone that a) asked me why I hadn't filled out this survey b) asked me when it happened and told me it was recent enough that I "wouldn't be charged," and said they could fix it by the end of the week. after a weekend of rain dripping down my chimney, the fellow showed up on Tuesday I believe. turns out there were 3 screws missing from the cap they'd just removed to clean the place. my fireplace still burns slowly as if it's clogged somehow and I can only reason it was related to the cleaning these folks have done.

I was able to make an appoinment quickly, on a Sunday in fact. Good customer service and the work was well done with no mess. It was very expensive, but that was probably due to us not having kept up on annual maintenance cleanings.

Shawn inspected and cleaned our chimney and he did an excellent job. He was on time, very clean, and explained everything very well. Even showed me photos of the before and after of the inside of our chimney. He did not try to talk me into any additional procedures. He advised me of things I could do in the future to keep our house safe when burning wood fires.

This company is a chimney sweep and chimney repair company and with the work they performed on my chimney and roof they do much more. Our technician was Gus and he was terrific; conscience, professional and had a good sense of humor. He completed his chimney cleaning inside efficiently and with very little disruption to my living room where the fireplace is located. His expertise and work was thorough. He found a few things up on the roof around the chimney that had been neglected for years and took care of the problems. Their prices are competitive and their work is exceptional. I would recommend this company to anyone with chimney or leaking roof problems...and in fact did. They are now taking care of my sisters roofing problems. They are Very nice and very professional. A great team to work with.
