This company was fabulous! It was a very big job and I was working on a very tight schedule. They showed up when they said they would be there, worked until late into the evening to meet my unrealistic deadline and did a beautiful job. I could not be happier.

Overall it was a fantastic experience. The estimate was detailed and delivered within a couple of days. Johann (the owner) was very responsive to my questions and flexible with requests. I supplied all the materials and he had no problem with that. The mudroom and powder room were done several months before the kitchen backsplash due to a delay in getting the materials (I had placed a special order prior to hiring Tigele.) After the first installation I knew I had hired a true professional and was very pleased he would be doing the more complicated backsplash. When the tile finally arrived Tigele was able to come within a few days of my calling. They did an amazing job. It looks beautiful!!!

Johann provided a competitive quote very shortly after I met with him. We chose him because of his quote , his A reviews on Angies, and the fact that he suggested using larger size tile instead of 12" x 12". This led us to a great look with four tile sizes and several color shades. He and his crew got the work done as quoted and as scheduled. We are very happy with the results. Johann provided advice regarding the best way to arrange the pattern in our entry and hallway, and made the grout selection easy. We would certainly recommend Tigele.

These guys did a great job for a fair price. They were helpful with problem solving, tile layout, grout color selection and sealing. Johan helped explain potential problems before installation. He was friendly, fair, relatively clean and knowledgable. I'm not sure he can be beat!

Johann was very responsive when I called for an estimate, as he returned my call within one hour and came out the same day to provide an estimate. of $650 (I purchased the glass mosaic tile sheets separately so the $650 does not include the tile). He came out two days later to perform the job. Johann was very professional and polite the entire time that he was here. It was a relatively small job (approximately 20 sq. feet) but took longer than he initially planned due to the amount of cuts required. However, he was still able to complete the job in one day (approximately 6 hours) and the price remained $650 as he quoted. He was very detailed and thorough and it was evident that quality is of utmost importance to him. I also appreciated the fact that he pointed out chips and scratches in some of the tiles so I could exchange them. The kitchen looks fantastic and I would absolutely hire Johann / Tigele again in the future.

He gave me a very thorough estimate. I liked that they were very professional. I didn't end up using them, but I would recommend their business.

I contacted Johann when another unprofessional contractor left midway. We need to install 18 * 18 marble tiles in our living room and finish what the other contractor started. His quote was detailed and was able to fit me in his schedule. Work performed was excellent, the floors look beautiful! He was professional, prompt and communicated well throughout the whole process. The whole job was completed in two days and he stayed till midnight to finish. Johann proactivity took care of all minor details and the finished work is absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely use him again for upcoming kitchen and bathroom update. Highly recommended.

Johan did an excellent job replacing limestone floor tiles in an area in my kitchen. I would certainly use Tigele again.

Johann was fantastic! I called him at about 9 in the morning, he returned my call within an hour and listened carefully as I described what I thought was going on. We had water leaking under and behind the tile through cracks in the grout and the stone itself. He said from the sound of it that he might well have to remove the shower floor and some of the walls to complete the repair, and warned me that the job could cost upwards of two thousand dollars. He came out that afternoon to take a look, then sent an estimate later that day for about $2200, not including 17 square feet of tile we were going to have to buy. The price didn't surprise me, though my husband turned white when I told him. Still, the alternative was to start over and try to find somebody else, and I knew from reading Angie's List reviews that this guy had a sterling reputation. So we went for it. Good move!!! Johann started work the following day, carefully removing a few tiles so he could see what was going on underneath. He knew we didn't have any spare tile, so he took the pieces out with unbelievable care. Once he was able to see the stuff under the tile, he called me in and told me he thought he could save us a pretty big chunk of money: There wasn't any mold, and everything beneath the tile was firm and sound--just a little wet. So instead of having to buy tile and replace the whole base of the shower, we could just replace a couple of tiles (with the tiles Johann so carefully saved!), and add a new granite sill and bench top. Johann put a heater in the bathroom for several days until the whole thing was dry as a bone. The day before we had planned to have him come in and complete the work, I got an email from him saying he hadn't yet found a piece of granite that was a good enough match for our tile, so we'd need to push the schedule back. Within a couple of days, though, he and a crew member came out and finished the job. Gorgeous, gorgeous, meticulous work. He and his crew were incredibly neat and thoughtful, left everything clean as a whistle, and finished the job in less than a day. I'm so impressed with the quality of the work, the professionalism of Johann and his team, and Johann's integrity. He could easily have told me a scare story about what needed to be done, and I wouldn't have known better. Instead, he did an amazing job and saved us $800. I would use Tigele again in a heartbeat. This is a great, great company. Thank you Johann!!!

The overall experience was very positive. Johnann was flexible in coming out to do the estimate, listened to what our goal was, and provided good feedback. The quote was detailed and comprehensive. The project took a total of two days, and they kept the impact outside of the work area to a minimum. The tiling was done very precisely and turned out exactly as we were hoping. In addition, all of the finishing touches were done with the same level of detail. We would highly recommend his work.

Johann and his team of employees were incredibly punctual, responsive, polite and skilled. Calls were returned immediately and Johann stuck to the dates he gave us. The workers were very efficient and very skilled. Our bathroom looks amazing. And compared to other estimates they were less expensive. I will without question use Tigele in the future. They are an exceptional company.

Johann was always professional, courteous, & communicated with us every step of the way. He certainly knows his industry and provides quality workmanship. The employees on his crew, Janosh and David, were also very courteous. They were also very polite to our two pet dogs, which put us even more at ease. The team cleaned up after themselves very well. Johann communicated with me several times each day (typically via text message) to let me know how the project was progressing and if they had any questions about how we wanted certain elements to look. Given the age of the home, several unique situations came up that required some additional troubleshooting. In the beginning of the project, Johann spent a considerable amount of time helping us understand our product & material options, and gave us many design suggestions. He made several noteworthy recommendations along the way. His proposal was highly detailed and he came in right on budget. Since we were doing a full remodel, we went ahead and installed a heated floor and had Johann’s team integrate some stone accents in each of the bathrooms. My wife & I would highly recommend the Tigele team to anyone who is looking to pursue a similar project.

I am an interior designer in Winnetka. I hired a tiler that came highly recommended through a worker I'd used before. The tiler and I had multiple conversations prior to his start date. Most of my family are contractors, so I am well aware of good quality work. I chose to use Ditra for this project and the tiler said he was very familiar with it. I also gave the tiler instructions as to no smoking on the property and before I agreed to hire him, I required a schedule from him ,of when he would start and complete the job. He acted very professional and in writing told me he would work every day until the tiling was complete at the end of the week. From the day he started, it was one problem after the next. He had me buy the wrong mortar, he was applying the Ditra incorrectly, and at the end of the day, he cleaned his trowels full of mortar in the new stainless steel sink. I gave him a chance on day 2, to redeem himself. Instead he arrived at 10, and left early at 12. On day 3, not even a total of 9 hours into the project, I realized he was in way over his head. The Ditra application was a murky, muddy mess, and the tiles were also covered in mortar and I honestly began to think I made a mistake in buying them because the way he laid them without grout lines and full of mortar, made them look dark, ugly and cheap. The tiler himself was covered in dark gray mortar, and even the new cedar beams my uncle had meticulously worked on, were spattered with gray mortar! I quickly joined Angie's List and took down 3 names of tilers with great reviews. The first 2 tilers did not answer, a pet peeve of mine, when business owners do not answer their phone! The third call was to Tigele Tile & Mosaics, and Johann quickly answered. He listened to my story, and I asked him to please come and look at the job and give me an estimate as soon as possible. He told me he would come later in the evening as he had 2 other estimates planned. I was of course happy and surprised to get someone to come so promptly. He came as promised and quickly assessed the entire situation. He told me how I could save the tile, and if I found his estimate agreeable, he could have David start the very next morning. (Another pet peeve I have, is waiting several days for an estimate.) Again, to my pleasure, Johann submitted the estimate that same evening, as he promised. In the morning, I called the first tiler to fire him, and by 9 am, David arrived, and I am certain he was 10 feet tall, and rode into Winnetka on a giant white horse adorned with brilliant Gold Armor! I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the professionalism and way Johann's entire team came to my rescue! Within hours the basement went from a darkened and mirky mess to a bright and organized working space. I told them several times, it was literally as if a cloud had lifted in the basement and the entire mood had changed! Even the colors on that day seemed brighter and more vivid! There is no replacement for the peace of mind one has when they hire someone who is competent, reliable, honest and fair! Tiling is an art form, and "cheaper" jobs will never look like art, only cheap counterfeits!! The professionals that Johann hires are non-smokers, they are clean, and they truly are passionate about their work. There was never a mess in my basement while they worked and to my even bigger surprise, they worked until 6, even on Friday evenings. David and Paul were always courteous, friendly and wasted no time while they worked. I immediately felt comfortable by their competence, knowledge, work ethic, cleanliness and even well-dressed attire. They did a beautiful job and we are planning another project together---one that involves in-depth remodeling, plumbing and electrical work. Johann scolded me on hiring the first tiler and recommended the importance of Angie's List. I am so glad I made a terrible mistake by hiring the wrong tiler, as that lesson learned, led me to find Johann and his dedicated team. I recommend them to anyone who wants a professional job at a fair price, and done right the first time and in a timely manner!

In the months since we purchased our house I?ve learned quite a few things about making home improvements and repairs, and now I get to share my best gems with Angie?s List members each month. So far, we?ve been more about HIY (hire it yourself) than DIY and, frankly, I?m liking it this way. I do hope to make better use of my tool belt and start digging in the dirt in the coming months, but I have to admit that things wouldn?t be looking quite so nice if we had completed major renovation tasks on our own. Speaking of which, the guy in the photo on Angie?s List is David from Tigele Tile. Though Tigele owner Johann Janoschka, did note that our job was less grand than some of his projects, he and David did a great job. Our master bathroom looks fabulous. So good, in fact, that other tradesmen commented on the expert installation. Typically, tradesmen look at another guy?s work and tell you five ways they could have done it better. Tigele also tiled our laundry room and kitchen floors. Johann scheduled his work around our other renovations and completed his portions on time. We did encounter two issues: one was that we did not like the coiled heating element he first installed in the bathroom floor. Luckily, we noticed this in time and talked to Johann about installing a higher end heat mat. It cost us a little bit more money to get the mat, but we were happy to pay as the overall job price was reasonable. The other issue was that when our plumber came to install the fixtures, we realized the fixture slots were tiled in too closely. Despite the fact that he was in Europe when this happened, I was able to contact Johann and one of his workers made it to our house in time for the plumber to complete his work that same day. (It would have been nice if the plumber mentioned at the time that he wouldn?t drill the tile to install the mounting for the hand spray, but frustratingly, he waited another week to share the news. Ugh. Don?t get me started on our plumber.)

We searched Angies list and found them and read reviews. Arranged for an estimate. The price was very reasonable. They showed up on the scheduled day. On time. They did a beautiful job. They were also very respectful of our home. They laid drop clothes etc.

We have used them twice. They have very competitive prices. They worked with us. They always checked before they moved forward if they ran into any problems.

Due to the cold in our kitchen, we had them remove our existing cabinets and pull down the drywall. They worked with an insulation company (Illinois Insulators) we brought in and coordinated service with them. After the walls were properly insulated, they came back and put in the drywall, rehung our cabinets, vented our microwave to the outside, put in canister lights above our peninsula and added lights under our cabinets with a new switch. They recommended a granite place to us, and we had great luck working with that company. We had granite counter-tops put in and they installed our backsplash. They were always prompt and kept in contact with us through the entire process. From start to finish, it was all done in 2 weeks. It would have been done sooner if we hadn't needed to do the insulation. We were struggling with what kinds of lights to put under the cabinets and Johann found some at IKEA that worked perfectly for us. We would have no concerns working with them again, and if/when we decide to do our bathrooms, they will get our business.

They were very professional, the job was flawless. We had a very bad tile job done and they repaired it, they were actually one of the only two companies that agreed to repair it. Most contractors didnt want to touch the job. We chose them based on their reputation. Real tile artists, we are glad we found them. Definitely will hire them again.

What I truly appreciated is that when Johann and his crew (primarily Janusz) said they were going to be at our home at a certain time they were there. They worked very hard and cleaned up after themselves everyday. The area where they worked was very clean and it was a pleasure to watch them work. They were very pleasant. They said the job would take four days and it did. On a side note........One contractor said it would take six weeks to remodel our kitchen. I would ABSOLUTELY work with them again. Like I said I saved a lot of money using the countertops I originally loved and the floors I bought a few years ago. In this economy that means a lot.

It went very well - job was completed in 1.5 days. Tigele quoted the job over 5 months ago and was very patient while we made our decision and deferred to 2012. The price on the "dated" quote was honored even though it was only good for 90 days. I had a couple of minor complaints that was fixed quickly and to my satisfaction. I'm very satisfied with the work and plan to use them again soon. Thank you Johann!

Excellent experience. Johann was very Professional in Quoting Process, Review of Tiling to be completed and Timliness of completing the work. His quote was not the most competitive, however his reviews on Angie's List and previous work completed in Mosaics on his Web-site, satisfied me that he was the most experienced in Mosaic Tile Installation. The extra cost was outweighed by his Workmanship. I look forward to my next Project, Kitchen Flooring and Bathroom remodeling, when I can utilize Johann's talented work again. I would highly recommend Johann to my friends and Relatives.

Johann and his team did an incredible job. Johann was extremely responsive during the initial phases of providing the scope of work and quote. His prices were very competitive and in some cases, less expensive. He was not bothered by the scope of the project (many acted like the project was too small and not worthy of their time) and he was very clear in the amount of time the project would take to complete. He started on time every day and finished the project on time (staying until 9:00 pm on Friday night in order to finish on time). The quality of his work was VERY impressive. In addition, they did not leave so much as a scratch or smudge from the work, even though the developer in my building glued (with silicon) my counter tops to my cabinets. They worked for hours to cut off and remove the countertops in my bathroom and kitchen and didn't damage or leave a scratch on them. I would absolutely recommend Johann to any of my friends and use him again if the opportunity arises.
