Johann and his workers at Tigele Tile were great! Johann was very responsive to our requests for an estimate and happy to install tile that we had purchased ourselves from a local home store. In doing his estimate, he told us how much tile we would need to order, and this turned out to be exactly right (we only had a small amount of extra tiles left over after the job). Once the tiled arrived, Johann fit us in to his schedule immediately, since it was a relatively small job. It took two separate days, but only because the tile need time to set before they did the grout (which only took a few hours when they returned a few days later). Johann and his workers did an amazing job fitting the tile around electrical fixtures, cabinets, and window sills. We have an older (1920s) house, so some walls were not even -- you wouldn't notice that at all with the way they installed the tile. Johann and his workers were highly skilled at their job, as well as extremely professional, leaving our kitchen at least as clean as it was when they started. Overall, Tigele was one of the best contractors we have ever used for work on our house, and we have had some very good ones do various jobs for us over the years.

He is very prompt and professional and aims to please customers. He responded to my email inquiry immediately and the whole process was very quick from start to finish. As painless as possible.

The old bathroom tile was cracked in many places, and the floor itself was sagging and had considerable give even when standing on it (like standing on a swinging bridge). Johann was able to remove the old tile, rip out the rotted subfloors, replace the plywood, reseal, retile, and replace the toilet & baseboards in 2 days. Since we only have the one bathroom, I had to take my family on vacation during the repair, but Johann was able to keep on schedule and we were back home enjoying our new bathroom with a minimum of pain & difficulty.

We redid the threshold and bench in our shower. We had taken down the glass because we were having trouble finding anyone that was willing to do it, so we could get started on the stone work. Now came time to put the glass back up. This is when we joined Angie's list because we were still having trouble finding anyone that would do it. All of the general contractor's didn't want to touch it because either it was too small a job, or they were afraid of the tempered glass. All of the glass specialist shops turned up their noses because they only will install pieces they design and create. Tigele answered fast, but was a bit hard to get a hold of for awhile afterwards. They said that they were busy with large jobs. Since they are smaller operations, these things happen... if they were larger, they probably wouldn't have taken on our challenge in the first place. Put back a shower door and glass wall you have never worked on before was clearly a hard thing. The first thing they did was check to see if all of the parts were still there - a very wise move since my father had pocketed some screws during disassembly and took them back to Michigan. Oops! Tigele helped me figure out what size replacements I needed and a quick run to the hardware later we were back in business. They were very patience with the situation and didn't let the time go to waste. Overall, the shower works great, and we are very pleased. Over time, we have seen some imperfection with how they hung the glass, and we think a glass pro could have made it perfect, but given our circumstance, we think they did good enough to rate an A.

Johann was very professional and did a great job. I called him and he immediately responded to my voicemail and met me at my home to complete the job. My issue was rather complicated as my builder had improperly (lazily) installed my marble tile in my bathroom by puttying it to the wall (yikes!). Johann was very busy, but he made time for me. He and his staff found matching replacement tile, removed the old improperly installed tile, and meticulously installed new tile- it looks much better than the original tile job. He even cleaned the bathroom afterward and removed all of the mold stains from the rim of the jacuzzi and resealed it! My tile bathroom looks brand new! Thanks Johann!

Johann was easy to work with, always arrived when he said he would and was very good about making changes to make sure that everything was done to my standards. The place was a disaster with all of the plaster and drywall dust and Johann brought a cleaning crew through when they were finished that did an excellent job. I'm very pleased with the results. My only recommendation would be to be a get a clear contract with itemized costs. The fixture allowances were low and unrealistic so the project ended up costing me about double the estimate. Overall I think I ended up with a quality job for a pretty fair price and I would definitely use them again for future remodeling projects.

Great. Probably should have included some of my above comments in this section. Would definitely hire Johan again. Have recommended him to several friends. Of the four bids that I solicited, he was not the cheapest - but nor was his the most expensive. Four months later, I have finally gotten around to writing this review. Everyone who comes in to visit us in our loft sees the work and says "wow"

From the minute I talked to Johann, I knew he was very knowledgeable about his trade and accommodating for his customers. He was willing to meet late in the evening and was able to squeeze our job in so that we wouldn't have to wait 3-4 weeks for him to be available. In the end, Johann did an amazing job with in our kitchen. We are very pleased with the work that he did and would definitely use him again.

The experience went very well. The contractor who had initially installed the tile floor in our powder room a few years ago didn't do a great job. The grout lines were too deep, so dirt would collect in them. Also, he used a regular white unsanded grout. Regular white grout, even if it is sealed, can quickly become stained and look dirty. Johann removed all the old grout and redid the floor with an epoxy. Epoxy grout is a lot more expensive but it never needs to be sealed and does not easily stain. Well worth the investment. The powder room floor looks a lot better now, and will be a lot easier to maintain. Johann also did a great job in the shower room. On his initial visit he forgot to do one small thing. I emailed him about it and he promptly came back and took care of it. Overall, a very good experience - I would recommend him.

It was a challenging job because none of the walls in our 1891 cottage are straight and the back splash includes one vertical section that extends from counter to ceiling, including cutting in around a large ventilation hood. Johann always arrived on time, was incredibly professional, and ensured that he treated our home, and new kitchen, with tremendous respect (Tigele is the first contractor I've used that has not left us with a big clean up job). He did a great job of making our kitchen feel like a new room, and even arranged to have some of the touch up work we needed fixed (re-staining the cabinet and patching a hole where the previous counters had been attached, adjusting the cabinet cornices etc.) I'd definitely use him again and have already recommended him to friends.

We noticed that our kitchen floor was flexing whenever someone walked on it. The tiles and grout were not cracking, so we assumed it was the subfloor below. I sent emails to several different companies, and Johann was the most prompt in getting back to me. He also agreed to do the repair based on my email description and a phone call. Everyone else wanted to come out and look at the job first. Although Johann gave me the same answer as everyone else as to why our tile was loose, he was open to doing a fix that will hopefully give us a couple more years out of our kitchen floor.

After using Johann for small repair job we decided to hire him to remodel our 1956 small kitchen in our small apartment. He is a professional re-modeler who aims to please his homeowner. After telling him I wanted wood cabinets, a new tile floor, tile backsplash he made some suggestions which I followed. For example: he suggested under-mount lights for the cabinets, which we really appreciate now. We have got very good price on kitchen cabinets and granite countertops from a company he recommended. The company is run by his friend who also was very helpful with designing the kitchen and their prices for cabinets are lower then homme depot prices. Each of Johann's recommendations were right on, he is obviously very experienced, and his referrals for granite and kitchen cabinets people were very good as well.Of course when you are working with something so old unexpected problems arise, all of which were dealt with promptly and professionally. Johann always had great suggestions and his workers were very responsible . Job completed quicker than expected. Good attention to detail and job areas were kept fairly clean each day. Not a lot of disruption to the rest of the house. His crew: I was highly impressed with the craftsmanship of their work. These guys obviously take tremendous pride in doing a very good job. And he takes good care of them. I was happy to see a consistent crew on the job site each day, and I was impressed that Johann not only arrived to supervise but he worked alongside his crew to ensure that the project was completed on a timely basis. His crew is very nice, very courteous and very clean. He was always available to take my calls and he never made me feel that I was taking up too much of his time. I found him to be very honest. I would rehire him again for our bathroom remodel in the future.

Great experience. Absolutely 100% punctual and professional from the initial estimate through the completion of the work. He was able to save our existing marble tile for the shower step, which was a major plus considering we could not match it. The new shower floor looks beautiful.

When we moved into our new condo in 2008, the master bath had a number of permanent marker numbers written on the marble tiles. We had tried everything we could to get them out but nothing worked. This winter, we noticed that the grout and caulking was starting to deteriorate so we called in a few tile contractors to provide estimates. Johann was the only one who was certain he could fix the grout and remove the marker. Johann came in and did the work in the time promised and on budget. The bathroom seems like it's brand new and the marker numbers are gone! We can't even remember where they were. Johann also put in some caulk in our kitchen tile and sealed all of it. He was very professional and we'd definitely use him again.

We had three companies quote installing a marble tile backsplash in our kitchen. Of the three, Johann was clearly the most experienced during the visit to quote the project, quickly identifying important issues the others didn't catch. Johann's quote was the middle price. Selecting an installer with an eye for detail and quality was important to us as the tile had cost us about $40 a sq foot, so mistakes would be costly. Once we chose Johann, he and his co-worker were professional from start to end...lots of drop cloths, full clean-up at each day's end, truly meticulous work, and quick to ask our opinion on anything that required even a small judgement call. The entire project took 2 days, and the results are stunning. They managed to do gorgeous work very efficiently. Very responsive to calls and questions and arrived on time. We look forward to working with Johann again and would gladly recommend him to a friend.

A few years ago, I had a different tile company install a backsplash, mosiac and medallion in my kitchen. Most of it looked pretty good, however that installer did not do a very good job on the mosiac which was very uneven, wavy and had noticeable gaps. I emailed Johann and showed him a picture of the install and he assured me that he could fix it and do it properly. He was very easy to schedule and came out the same week. Johann worked all day non-stop to remove the old tile, fix the backing (cement board) and then install the new stuff. He carries a large number of tools (more than most tile installers) and is very meticulous in his work. Everything went smoothly and the new tile looks perfect. All the lines and spacing are dead-on and the whole job has a showroom quality finish. I literally spent about 10 minutes standing in awe admiring the finished result. I would highly recommend Johann for any tile installation and will definitely use him again in the future.

Johann was great to deal with. I had already purchased the glass tile for my backsplash, and he came to measure and provide me with an estimate to install the glass tile. His estimate included all installation material, grout, and sealer. I was able to select the grout color from a chart. I received several estimates, and Johann's fell somewhere in the middle. However, because he is a specialist in installing glass tile and his based on his previous experience, I decided to hire him. Because of the quality work that he did for me, I feel that the price was fair was very fair. The entire experience was great. Johann was here 3 days in a row. First day was to install backplash, second day was to grout backsplash and clean shower, third day was to seal grout and caulk shower. If and when I need to tile anything else in my house, I will definitely use Johann again.

When I originally contacted him it was to fix a leak around the shower door. He impressed me by telling me that he did not think he could make the repairs that I needed. I appreciated the fact that he was honest about that and did not mislead me by making false promises. Regarding the later job that he did accept his work was very good. He spend about five hours here but that included a trip to the hardware store. In spite of the extra time involved he stuck to his original estimate. The tiles are replaced, the mildew is gone and he did a neat job replacing the cracked tiles and re-caulking the areas that needed it.

I don't have enough time or space to express how pleased I am with the work that Johann and company did on the complete remodel of our second bathroom. First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous and the result far exceeded my expectations. When I first received the recommendation about Tigele (from a Facebook pal) and checked out the website (which shows the most beautiful tile work I had ever seen), I was a bit concerned that it would be too high end and fancy for what we were looking for, though we didn't exactly want "basic" either. Not the case at all. They do all kinds of work in all different price ranges. We received quotes from six or seven different companies for this job ? some were less expensive, some more expensive. And, they all had very different ideas (some a bit on the crazy side, some a bit on the lazy side) about how we should remodel. When Johann came over to quote the job, he was very attentive to our needs and wants and made great suggestions ? his ideas were also the most practical, but also the most visionary, if that makes sense. We had a pretty specific design theme that we wanted and Johann was able to take that theme and make it even better and even more functional (which is very important to us) than we originally envisioned. Johann is an artist and craftsman with a great eye, so he was a big help with design, too. We bought our house a year and a half ago (before discovering Tigele) and remodeled almost all of it using several different ?contractors.? Johan and company were by far the best bar none. I only wish I would have known about Tigele then, because I would have hired them to do ALL of the work (they may be redoing some of it in the future!). I have never seen such committed, conscientious and careful workers. Everything from the gutting to the rebuilding (so important, so that the foundation underneath all the pretty stuff is stable and strong!) to the repairing to the detail work was impeccable (not one bit of sloppy or inconsistent work anywhere). We have had a lot of tile work done in our house, too, and Tigele?s tile work is by far the most outstanding (again, if we had only known...). It?s perfect and so beautiful. They did the bathroom floor and an entire walk in shower (floor, walls, ceiling, bench and cubby holes). And, throughout the process, when we wanted to make a slight change here or there (i.e. move a light fixture up a few inches), it was always done cheerfully and perfectly. Johann also did some repair work to fix some mistakes on a glass tile backsplash in our kitchen - that someone else originally installed - and it now looks the way it should have looked if it would have been done correctly in the first place (again, beautiful). One warning, which isn?t a bad thing at all: They will work very long hours to get the job done. They may start at 8 a.m. and go until 8 or 9 at night. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Call them now!

Johann accommodated my schedule for the estimate and a very tight time line for the completion of the project. The first day there were two installers that worked a 12 hour day, followed by an 9 hour day to ensure that they would finish the grouting when promised. They were able to get all grout lines perfectly straight on the walls and lined up perfectly with the floor tile. The showed up on time exactly when promised. They setup their tools cleaned up their mess and finished on time and on budget. The price seemed high initially, but for the service provided and the results attained have made the price a relative bargain.

Tigele saved the day! The original contractor did a sub-standard job and came in and recommended fixes and finished the job. Johann came over the same day I called and I received a written estimate that night. He was very responsive, asked for my input throughout the job to ensure my satisfaction, was clean and finished the job a little earlier than expected by starting early and working late. I would use Tigele again and again for tile and complete remodeling.

Fantastic -- Johann was immediately responsive to my inquiry for an estimate, came in to review the work needed and provide an estimate that afternoon, and was able to complete the work at the earliest time I had available. He made sure to follow up prior to the scheduled work to confirm the appointment and to remind us to not use the shower, and was able to finish the work much earlier than we anticipated it would be done. Everything looks beautiful, Johann went above & beyond by addressing some more minor issues that were a result of the developer doing a poor job with constructing the shower 5 years ago, and was able to deliver above & beyond what I paid for. I am absolutely going to contact Johann again when we do additional work, maintenance, and remodeling in our home. Thanks Johann!

I found Johann from Tigele Tile and Mosaics on Angies List and contacted him for an estimate to install a stone tile backsplash in our kitchen. He was amazingly prompt, and I thought his prices were very fair. He did a wonderful job (aided by his assistant), and we are exceptionally happy with the result. I will absolutely use Tigele again.

The job went smoothly, no complications or surprizes. I selected and purchased the tile and he picked them up from the tile factory. The checkered pattern and overall effect looks great, very clean, neat and professional. I'm very, very happy with the results, and strongly reccommend his services.
