We tried to install 18" tile in our foyer and powder room. This started out as a do-it-yourself project, but we quicklly realized we were in over our heads and didn't know how to complete the job. We called Johan and he responded promptly and came out to give us a bid. The price was very good and he really did a great job of fixing and working with what we started. We went from panic to great relief! We would definitely recommend him and use him again in the future. The floor looks absolutely beautiful. Exceeded our expectations!

From start to finish the overall experience with Johann was exceptional. He was prompt in providing follow-up to our initial inquiry. We provided an explanation of our project over the phone and then emailed pictures so that a quotation / estimate could be given. We accepted the proposal (which was competitive with others) and Johann was very flexible and accommodating to our schedule when performing the work. He was on time as promised, clean (providing protection to walkways and to existing surfaces) and did an exceptional job. He went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with the final product. Overall Johann and Tigele exceeded all of our expectations. We would absolutely use them again and would recommend Tigele to anyone interested in tile installation.

I emailed Johann about a week prior to the installation desperate to get someone out to install this surround before all our family started showing up for Thanksgiving. I had planned to do it myself to save the money because I had received some pretty high estimates. Since I was running out of time I bit the bullet and had a pro come out. Not only did they do an amazing job (it looks fantastic), they finished in hours, and the cost was very reasonable. After seeing the trouble they had with this delicate tile, I'm really glad I ended up having them do it. Can't wait to do the bathrooms now because now I have the best tile guys in town.

Johann was extremely professional throughout the entire process and I'm extremely happy with his work. This was our first remodel and Johann was very helpful in assisting us with everything from choosing and purchasing tile, to picking-up materials, to making suggestions to improve functionality and decrease costs. He was extremely busy at the time and left most of the initial construction work to his crew. When issues arose (which of course is going to happen with any major project) Johann was very good about making adjustments and making sure the problems were fixed. When it came time to installing the tile, Johann was the person doing the installation with one other person. Everyone on his team was punctual, and were very good about cleaning up. We actually had to ask them not to clean at one point as it was just going to get dirty again the next day and we didn't need to use that room during the construction. Everyone seemed to take pride in their work, including the people doing the construction and drywall. The person doing the drywall was able to patch areas so well it is absolutely impossible to tell where the patching was done. Overall, I am very happy with the remodel and if I choose to do any other work in the future (in a separate bathroom or kitchen) I will absolutely call Tigele Tile again.

Took a few months to before Johann had the time to give me an estimate, but he was worth the wait. My bathroom had a window over the tub & shower with a wooden frame, so naturally the wood was rotting. The frame was replaced with a beautiful tiling job. He also re-caulked the whole tub area. The heating vent in the bathroom was crooked and could not be removed for cleaning. That was fixed very nicely by putting a little frame around it. The bathroom looks 100% better! The bead-boarded kitchen ceiling was poorly done originally with squares of material glued to a flat ceiling. It was falling down because it wasn't done right. Johann and his assistant put up longer boards fastened properly that will not fall down or separate. They also replaced some of the molding to match more closely to the existing molding around the cabinets. Then they painted the ceiling with two coats. They also fixed the windowsill over the kitchen sink so the faucet wouldn't hit it. I used to cringe when I looked at that ceiling. Now I'm proud of the way it looks. It makes me smile to look at it. All this was done in only two days, plus they cleaned everything up so well that you could hardly tell they were here!

He is a hard working and smart professional, who helped us make decisions on aspects of the job we weren't even aware we should consider. He cared enough about the job to devote personal time, outside of work, to thinking about it and coming up with options to help us make good decisions. We are very happy with the results and are planning on using Johann again, to redo a backsplash botched by someone else.

I got a very quick response from Johann when I emailed him asking to discuss the job. He came out to our house within a day or two, and got back to us with a quote in another couple of days. When the work began, it was also very smooth. Everything was cleaned up and removed including the old appliances. I felt very comfortable with Johann and his crew in my home. They finished the job in less time than I anticipated, and the result is beautiful!

Tigele Tile & Mosiacs was a breath of fresh air after a long and painful bathroom remodel. We had a series of contractors working on our bathroom who all ran over-schedule and rushed their work leading to mistakes and missteps. Johann from Tigele was incredibly helpful, and protected us by pointing out the mistakes and empowering us to get our other contractors to correct their mistakes. Without Johann, and his high personal standards, I could've seen another tiler just cover up the mistakes so they could get the work done, and move on to their next job. Instead, Tigele graciously accommodated our delays, and despite being very busy tried their best to get in and working as quickly as our other contractor mistakes were corrected. Johann even corrected and completed a few final mistakes from our other contractor free of charge. The work was top of the line. Tigele were ready and waiting to work every morning at 8:00 am (per our request), and worked through out the day. They protected our space, tried to give our nervous dog treats, and overall were easy to work with. An important thing to note for city dwellers, our building has strict rules for contractors and Tigele also demonstrated their experience with working in the city and within the confines of strict building rules. Our building engineer afterwards told me we had finally 'hired real professionals' It's one thing to have a contractor come in and do a good job on budget and on schedule. Tigele really took it to another level by demonstrating their personal integrity in doing the best possible job regardless of the challenges or delays thrown at them. Any future work we want to do, if Tigele can services the job, we will hire them without question.

Johann was really easy to work with. He gave us a very detailed quote and was able to start the project quickly. We supplied all the tile and ended up not liking the glass mosaic we selected for the master bath (our fault, not his), but before he grouted the tile he had us look at it to make sure we liked it and saved us some time and money by being able to stop the job until we found new tile we liked better. He resumed the job very quickly and the finished product is flawless. In the kitchen, he did a classic white subway tile and it looks absolutely perfect. I would recommend Johann in a heartbeat and will absolutely use him again for future tile work.

Fantastic. My husband and I work constantly and leaving the office for home appts, discussing things during work hours, etc. is just not possible. Enter Johann.... Timely/Flexible: Emailed us back within hours of my initial note on a Saturday and offered multiple times to meet. His estimate, insurance doc, etc. arrive ONE day after we met! I had to wait a week or even two from other contractors and they were not as detailed. Prepared: Committed the details of my contact email to memory and came with ideas so the appt time was VERY productive. Experienced: He didn't hesitate to look under/over/inside everything to make sure he understood the project, was able to provide me with tile estimates so I didn't have to rely on the tile salesperson, able to communicate the job in easy to understand steps and demonstrated that he has worked with a variety of projects/materials. Cost Effective: He can access discounts at multiple stores and is willing to pass the savings along to you. He made a suggestion that saves $3K (which two other contractors didn't bring up and we confirmed is a very viable option). His price was completely in line with other contractors and I felt the tile work would be done better.

They did very nice work and were responsible and responsive. When I was in a time crunch with work, Johann even went to a distributor to pick up tile for me. That was very much appreciated. When I had slight problems with grout after the completion of the jobs, Johann was good about coming back out to fix it. I would definitely hire again.

They were prompt and did a complete job. They cleaned up afterwards and it looks great.

i have to say the job went as smoothly as you can imagine and the price was right. This company is very professional, well organized and very efficient. Often they even worked late to get this job done and return the kitchen back to use. We are very happy with our new space!

I called and spoke directly with Johann, the owner. He immediately came out to our home, reviewed the situation and promptly e-mailed us an estimate. We scheduled the work together. He and his team completed the work on time and on budget. His team is made up of hard working, old world craftsman. They did an amazing job replacing the damaged tiles and blending them in to match perfectly with the existing tile. These guys are truly artists. They did a wonderful job! We would absolutely call them again, without any hesitation.

Johann installed a Bisazza glass tile back splash in our kitchen in Chicago. I liked that he responded to my initial email within a few hours, came out and gave us a cost estimate the next day with suggestions of where to go to get the tile, was on time for the job and started the job when he said he would. He also finished the job on time. Johann is a Bisazza tile installation expert and his work was of the highest quality. He was very personable, trustworthy, took pride in his work and left my place spotless when he was finished. I, also, felt comfortable leaving him alone in the condo when I went out to run some errands. I would recommend him to anyone who wants the job done right. I actually found Johann online. Take a look at his website. It is very professionally done. I would use him again in a heart beat!!! He is able to do any kind of kitchen or bathroom renovation.

Johann was extremely responsive. He responded to my intial email immediately and then drove out to our house that night for a free estimate. By the next morning, he had emailed an official estimate as well as all his insurance information. His estimate was not the most expensive, nor was it the cheapest, but we were impressed by his professionalism. He and his colleague came a few days later and installed the backsplash (it took about 4-5 hours) and their work was absolutely beautiful. The tiles were laid perfectly and it was clear that they really take pride in their work. The next day, Johann's colleague returned for about 4 hours to grout and seal the tiles. We are extremely happy with the way the backsplash turned out and also extremely happy with our decision to use Tigele Tile to complete the job. We would highly recommend them to anyone!

Johann arrived promptly to provide a free estimate on installing a backsplash in our kitchen, which would cover roughly 20 square feet. We wanted to go with a white subway tile, so Johann made some recommendations and then installed the entire backsplash personally two days later. It is obvious he cares about his work as the craftsmanship is beautiful. We will not hesitate to reach out to Johann and Tigele the next time we're in the market for tile work.

Johann and his team were excellent. I appreciated their attention to detail, skill, and professionalism. Johann suggested a small design tweak to our plans for the backsplash, which we liked. The backsplash wasn't a complicated job, but it looks perfect. Johann installed it himself with assistance from Radic. Johann and his electrician Peter provided suggestions for low-profile undercabinet lighting and were patient as I went back and forth about what I wanted. We chose LED strip lights no thicker than a piece of tape, which they recommended, and they look great. One panel of lights stopped working due to a loose connection (probably caused by the backsplash installation). Johann promptly tried to fix it himself, and when he couldn't, he had Peter stop by a few days later to fix it, which he did, in about 20 minutes. We have not had any further problems with the lights, but I'm confident that if we did, Johann would do what it took to make it right. He seems to take a lot of pride in his work, resulting in a great finished product.

I got him from Angie's List. He was pretty good. I thought he was great and he really did a great professional job. He was really a responsive guy overall. He always called and said he would be coming in half an hour. He was really focused on doing a good job and I thought he did a great job. He's just awesome.

Overall the project went great. One of my brothers was originally going to help me redo the bathroom, so I started out by buying all of my materials. When my dreams became bigger than my brother capabilites, it became obvious I needed the help of a professional. I checked on Angie's list, and was very impressed with Tigele's reputation, so I gave them a call. I explained the situation, and Johann came out the next day to give me an estimate. I thought his quote was very reasonable, so I signed a contract and within a couple of days, his team was on the job. This was our first major remodel, so we weren't sure what to expect, but for the most part, things went extremely smoothly. First came the demo, rough in plumbing, electrical, dry wall and painting. We had a bench built into the new shower, and originally it was a little too high (they forgot to compensate for the depth of the granite seat). I was a little concerned about the height as my wife is kind of short, but I failed to notice the problem until after the shower was completely roughed in, water proofed, and ready for tiling. At this point, I was afraid to even mention anything, but I brought it Johann and he didn't hesitate to redo it and make it right. Next came the tiling, and we had a pretty complex patern that required a lot of cuts. During the tiling process, Johann made some creative recommendations on ways to improve the design. These changes created a lot more work for him, and a lot more cuts, but the end result was so much better than the original design. He did charge me an extra $300 for all the additional labor, but I thought this was very fair, compared to the amount of work this added. There were two instances where Johann brought in some extra people to help with the tiling, and they made some mistakes in following the pattern. I pointed out the errors to Johann, and he apologized, and retiled the sections that weren't done right. During this time, one of my other brothers was supposed to make me a vanity. He owns a cabinet shop and does beautiful work. Unfornately, he was too busy to squeeze me in, and so after weeks of delays, I had to go elsewhere to get a vanity made. This pushed the project back several weeks, though Johann was very understanding and fortunately had other jobs he could work on while we waited. Even though we didn't have a vanity, he was nice enough to finish the shower and install the toilet (complete with the Toto bidet toilet seat). This was great, as we were having 5 house guests coming for 4 days and deperately needed the extra shower. The vanity finally arrives and while it looked very nice, it wasn't built to the right size. The overall dimentions were correct, but it consisted of two outer cabinets for the sinks, and a middle cabinet with drawers and the sink cabinets were two narrow. If we used them as is, the sinks wouldn't have lined up with the plumbing, or the mirrors, or the lighting lighting. The cabinet shop I bought the vanity from was completely unresponsive, so once again, Johann had to save the day. His ace worker, Janusz came to the rescue. He basically cannibalized the top drawer, and made cutouts between the cabinets to make room for the sinks so that they would line up with plumbing, mirrors and lighting. Crisis diverted, and aside from losing the top drawer, there was no downside to this work around. We then had to wait a couple of weeks for the granite counter tops because they wouldn't come out to measure until the vanity was in place. In the down time, I had Johann and his crew repair our water damaged foyer, and retile it with some beautiful off white marble tiles. The water damage was pretty significant, but they ripped out all the damaged wood, repaired the leaky door jam, and got the tile all laid while we were waiting on the granite. Finally the granite was installed, and Janusz came in to finish everything off. It seemed to take forever, but that wasn't really Tigele's fault, and while there were a few bumps in the road, Johann and company always did whatever it took to make things right. The end result is not only beautiful, but extremely funtional. We absolutely love it. In addition to doing a beautiful job, Johann and company were very accomodating and flexible. Design changes, material delays, special requests - nothing seemed to faze them. Johann said at the beginning that their mission was to provide with the bathroom of our dreams, and that's exactly what he did.

Johann was able to quote the job over the phone after I had sent to him pictures of the job needed and said although they were very busy, they would be able to squeeze me in the following week. He actually called me the early in the following week and said he'd be able to start the job a day earlier!! They showed up on time, worked hard without breaks, confirmed as they were going to check on performance and were very pleasant, respectful, clean and quiet. I work from home and do a lot of conference calls - they did not disturb me at all. In the end, the finished job looks great and in time to get the house painted. I had absolutely no complaints regarding the workmanshp.

Johann came out next day after being contacted to give me an estimate to retile bathroom floor and to replace 4 wall tiles that had cracked on the wall ( wall tile had been installed by a different company a year ago). He e-mailed me a detailed contract the next day. Job was done the following week. Took day and a half to finish. I supplied the tile and all other materials(caulk, adhesive, and special blue grout) supplied by Tigele. Toilet and door needed to be removed and reinstalled. They covered everything and were careful not to cause damage and cleaned up after themselves. I also was given a 2 year guarantee on the labor. They were professional and friendly. Also they fixed my garage door which was not shutting properly. Floor looks beautiful and can't even tell where the wall tiles were replaced.

My experience with Johann was great. I called him for a quote on a Sunday and he stopped by that same day. I accepted his bid and my backsplash was installed by Monday afternoon. It doesn't get any faster than that. He called me when he was on his way over, showed up right on time, and his work was outstanding. I would highly reccomend Tigele to others and will use them again in the future. Very friendly and the price was great.
