Samanco Construction Ltd

Samanco was the 1st cut from those I interviewed. They had done 1 job for us in the past and the work was good, clean, on time and no surprise in price, but not exactly what we asked for. This time, we would supply drawings, so felt OK to talk to them again. The rep. seemed disinterested in the job. The interview was about 15 minutes, compared to all others that were about an hour. He had no questions except for the most basic, no input, no curiosity. It was my first interview so I was really surprised when other interviews were so thorough. All other contractors were invested in learning what I wanted, and had suggestions. I decided that the more invested contractors would be more invested throughout the job and therefore didn't go w/ Samanco. Samanco's not a bad company, but I wanted more.

We wanted the same porch (The newell posts were custom and other things). I stressed this in interviews. Samanco assured us they would do that and then a standard-issue porch was built, all detailing ignored. It's fine, but we would have either not hired them or made sure to submit design drawings. The porch had a "wall" on one side that we liked. It was rotted so taken down and replaced without consulting us about what we might want in its place. It would have been better to give them drawings. To ask them to start over would have involved designing a new porch and I didn't want to have them tear down a whole porch, have to come up with a new design etc. so I didn't pursue. Some details were poorly executed and they were promptly and pleasantly fixed. The staff was pleasant, clean, and in general, professional. We've had our porch for a year and it's fine.

Excellent job. Price was great. Very flexible and accommodated some changes. Did very high quality work. Worked very fast (about 2 weeks). Found problems with other people's work and actually fixed them (including some that were out of their required time frame). Very qualified, friendly and courteous workers. Would definitely recommend Samanco. They did a very, very good job.

Called the company to arrange an estimate for some deck work. I explained what the job was, but found the person to be somewhat challenging of my needs. I set up an appointment to have a rep. come out to the house to review the work. The rep. never showed up and have not returned emails explaining why. Rather disappointing performance that probably is a good warning of their reliability.

From start to finish, working with Samanco was a pleasure. They positioned themselves as a partner on this project and made themselves available to answer all questions and explain the work they were doing. They even went above and beyond by obtaining the permit from the city and dropping it off at our house in advance of or court hearing. Kirk Buyers was very responsive and helpful every step of the way. The crew showed up on time, were very professional, and did a great job. When asked, they even returned promptly to finish off the clean up from the work to our satisfaction.

They were VERY professional. I have has many projects done at my house - they were by far the most professional, and highest quality. They painted the front porch better than any of the four different painters I had previously. Excellent workanmanship on all projects! They were very easy to work with - accomodating to my schedule and very helpful in offering alternatives to the water problem. They were not the cheapest, but they were not outrageously expensive either. The price is definitely worth the quality, as they were certainly the best by far in terms of quality.

The receptionist who answered the phone was very accommodating. We found a time for a quote that was in an evening when all were available. It was 3.5 weeks out. Dave arrived on time and was very frank about what he thought. He was professional and courteous.

Not too bad. The crown moulding was stained off-site and the result was a difference in coloring among the different pieces (not uncommon with wood grain). It took a bit of convincing to get the workers to "blend in" between the pieces to achieve the final goal of continuous flowing color without differentiation between the crown moulding pieces.

Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We'd completely stalled on the drawings and permitting with another company and after months, switched. Samanco had the permit in about 6 weeks (or was it sooner?). Kirk Byers was extremely responsive, communicating via both phone and email. The workmen were very polite and respectful as well and even helped me carry boxes to my car without being asked. The construction was within the estimated time frame and they also arranged for the city to come back and sign off that everything was up to their new strict codes. They left the place clean and power washed everything, even the one existing deck. They also replaced some existing motion sensor lights. Their price was right in line with other estimates we got, maybe slightly higher but worth it.

Went very well. Samanco matched the tile, so well that we cannot tell the difference. Great job!

We were very pleased with Samanco. Dave was our contact person (although he did not actually perform the work). He came to our house to give us an estimate. This was a relatively small job for the company, but Dave was very attentive. They were very flexible as far as scheduling a time to perform the work. We needed the work done relatively quickly, and they were able to accommodate us admirably. Two younger men actually performed the work. It took them one day. They were courteous and did a good job cleaning up the area before they left. Dave stopped by around lunch time to check on the progress. The finished product was exactly what we wanted and needed. They did an excellent job with the tiles and Calkins, and our shower looks great. I would certainly use them again.

David Belder was on time for the estimate, came over the first day to see how work was progressing and called after completion. He was easy to work with. The two workmen (R???? & Peter) were exceptional. Tile was bevel cut around the shower window. No funny little pieces like before. They covered the floor in our home leading to the bathroom; and protected bath fixtures and tile floor that were not being replaced. Excellent job overall. They were prompt, professional and friendly.

Very responsive and excellent work. Dan arrived within an hour to offer a quote on a Friday afternoon, and the two day job was completed the following Wednesday. The electricians he sent instilled confidence in me immediately. They worked hard, were very professional and thorough. They identified several potential fire hazards brought on by the previous owner's creative wiring. They even returned the following week to fix a faulty outlet (unrelated to the work they did.) I was very impressed, and they will be my first choice in the future.

They came out when they said they would and the man was nice and sent an estimate promptly.

They did an excellent job. Although it took longer than expected, I was very pleased. The tub surround material I had purchased did not quite fit the tub stall, and they filled it in nicely with plain tile. When they cracked a bathroom tile getting to the trap, they came back and replaced it (luckily I had spares), and re-grouted the bathroom floor. I've had problems with the faucets, but that is an issue with the manufacturer, not the installation. Samanco was good about coming back to fix anything I mentioned to them.

Kept appointments, didn't rush our meetings, very informative, and always assessable when I called and needed questions answered. Work done in timely fashion. Exceeded expectations, polite, and professional.

Great. They came to the rescue after another contractor walked out on us after taking more than twice as much time to finish as they should have taken. Jack the foreman was a master. Nearly everything was done perfectly and with a great attitude. We had one small problem that was resolved satisfactorily the next day. These guys were our knights in shining armor and left us with a fantastic bathroom after we had had a horrible experience with the other company.

Woman who answered the phone very nice and polite. We made an appointment for someone to come out at a very convenient time for me, the weekend (which I really appreciated). Dave came out, on time, was very nice and personable. Our chat led me to believe he knew what he was doing and would do a good job. An estimate was mailed to my house in less than a week. I ended up using another workman whom I've used before, also does good work, became available at the last minute, and was about 30% cheaper. If my guy had not been available, I would have hired Samanco.

The process was rapid (3 days) and they were so careful and clean. They covered our furniture, vacuumed up after themselves every day, etc. After the work was done, our heating bills dropped so dramatically that we received a refund from the gas company!

Dave Belder, sales, came out checked the residence and submitted a proposal and contract in a timely fashion. He was very courteous, and made this a good business venture. The electricians were excellent and also very courteous.

I sent an email with a request for an estimate for finishing an attic and adding a bathroom. I got no response whatsoever.

We could not be happier with the entire experience. Samanco returned our calls promptly, always showed up on time and the quality of work is amazing. The demo was the quickest and cleanest I've ever seen. Workers cleaned up after themselves every day. If it weren't for the unavoidable dust you'd have never known we were in the middle of a project. The work was done quickly (10 days of work, 12 days total) and professionally. The workers were very polite and professional and worked around our dogs (who can be very curious) without complaint. Any changes we made to the original plan (and there were a few) were implemented without trouble. All in all, a very satisfying experience. We are having Samanco do another project in the next few weeks and are strongly considering them for our kitchen remodeling project as well. They were not the cheapest bid we received, but we really feel we got what we paid for.

These guys are great. They do very good work, showed up when promised, came back for an add-on I requested, finished in the time they said they would, threw in a few extra touches, picked up all the materials, helped with the selection process and on top of it, came in under the estimate. The project manager Dave called almost every day, with a status and to ask how I felt about the work, as it was being done. He is a true professional and a nice guy, very easy to talk to.

They did a fantastic job! The bathroom looks outstanding and it was not a simple job. Dan was the project supervisor and was easy to work with. Tom and Jerry did all the work onsite and were fabulous. They were detail-oriented, very skilled, always reliable and in general just excellent to work with. They completed the entire job in 3.5 weeks and were by far the best contractor we've had in this house.

When I called, they were very nice and professional, but explained that they do not do estimates on homes that are not currently owned by the person who requests the estimate. They said that often the people requesting the estimate simply want the figures to request credits on the offer. I explained my situation, and they said what they could do was charge me $325 for the estimate which would be credited towards the job if I hired them. They also assured me that if I had them estimate the job after close, they could have a crew start right away should I decide to hire them. Although I did understand the reasoning behind the policy, there were other companies who will to give free estimates right away, so I opted to get estimates from other companies and hire them to do the work instead of wait until the last minute.
