They were responsive and courteous and always showed up at the designated times. After about a month or two, the population seemed to come under control. We went from being afraid to take the trash out at night for fear of running into too many rats, to being comfortable taking the trash out at night.

We moved into a very rustic home that had a horrible rodent problem as well as plenty of bugs and spiders and other creepy crawly bugs. We called Rose - they were well known in the local area. They sent Mike the exterminator out to our house to spray and check for mice (Mike has also been the same person who has exterminated our house every single time since the first time as well). He was very professional, friendly, he did a great (and thorough) job, he showed me any problem areas as I walked through our home with him and he told me to call Rose if we ever had a problem. We did see one mouse after he was at our house so we called Rose and asked them to come back - they immediately sent Mike back to our house (at no charge) and took care of things. We have not seen one mouse and the bugs are minimal in our home and I have nothing but great things to say about the professionalism and the quality of Rose and their employees. Overall, they did a great job and I would highly recommend them.

They came to our place on time and set up 3 snap traps and two larger traps. They looked around the exterior of the house and closed up some potential areas of entry. There techniques and traps worked perfectly and we haven't had a problem since. So glad I had them come and that they didn't try to sell me something I didn't need.

I have used Rose Pest Solutions. I deal with the office out of Wauconda. We had ongoing appointments with them and they keep their appointments. For the most part they communicate ahead of time when they are going to be here. They have done a good job. If there is ever, or if you have noticed any silver fish or ant or anything, in that way they come back and take care of it right away. Their pricing is competitive. The quality is good. I would definitely use them again.

The technician showed up, placed some traps in common rodent areas, closed up some areas from the outside where mice could get into with iron wool, and placed poison traps in the basement. Within a few weeks we caught about 3 mice from the traps in the kitchen.

The building had a rodent problem in the beginning of March. A tenant reported that he had seen a rat on the back porch. I set traps and had no luck catching anything. They thought they heard noises at night and I called Rose Exterminators. Rose was offering a one month, one charge guarantee. They came out and inspected the place, set traps on the garden and 1st floor. Two weeks and nothing. The second floor had signs in their pantry. Called Rose again and they set traps on the 2nd floor and on the 3rd floor. On the four floors, the laundry, the back porch we had over 40 traps, snap, glue etc. Still nothing. At this point, I relented and let them put out a liquid poison on each floor. I didn't do this before because there are animals in the house and the poison is extremely potent. A week later someone smelled a rat. The smell was not nearly like my memory of that odor. The Tech said that the poison had a desiccating effect on the animal so the odor was minimalized. In any case, it was resolved. The Tech said that there were no points of entry on the house, so the rat likely got in while the back door was opened. Probably someone walking the dog at night. He said that it was probably just the one rat and that seems to be the case. Rose seemed very competent and willing to do the job. If I had let them put out the poison when they suggested it, I would have been done with this much earlier. It cost me extra $100 because I went past the deadline. Rose is good. I would suggest that you tell your tenants that there are rats in Chicago and if you are going to walk your dog in the yard at night, close the door behind you.

Left for work in the morning to witness a HUGE stream of pavement ants marching to and fro a crack in the brick of my building, across the driveway, and underneath my deck. Called Rose at 11am, they initially said they were booked and couldn't get to me for four days. When I told them I was only a couple blocks away from their office, they checked, called me back, and said they were able to send someone over within an hour. Two guys showed up - Mike was one - and they conducted the assessment and treatment and were gone within about 20 minutes. The only issue I had was the office called me to say they would be there within 30 minutes, but it took them 75 to show up so I was waiting a while. Otherwise everything else was great.

We have terrible rodent problems in the city. It is such a problem in the city, they didn't get the finances straight. They were unorganized. We had them every week for about a year. We have single family houses and their billing was just so bad that we had to quit with them. The actual work was ineffective. That is not fair because any exterminator is really ineffective so I had to go the route of putting hardware cloth under all the gardens and everything. They were just ineffective so it didn't help us that much. But we did it out of trying. They weren't organized. I would not recommend them.

I really like them. They are my go to people. If the problem does not come back, they come back for free. When I called them, they responded right away. They are a good responsive company.

We found out to late that we could have used our homeowners insurance to replace the mattress and box spring and we wouldn't have paid for 2 complete bedroom sets. We should have been told this by the representative. A representative came to our home to see if we did have bed bugs. We did have them. He told us we'd need a heat treatment for the bedrooms and a different treatment for the rest of the house. On 11/13/2012 the workman came and we had to leave the house for 8 hours because that's how long the heat treatment takes. On 11/27/2012 a man came out to see if all of our bed bugs were gone and discovered we still had a few. Our house received another treatment. I was told to call if I saw any more bed bugs. I called and two men came out on 12/7/2012 and went over the entire house. They found several early stages of bed bugs and one adult bug. I was told there was a 50% chance it was a male bug, but if it was a female I should call again. I was charged for the third visit. It was my understanding that our original payment would cover everything until all of the bugs were gone. If I had called them it would have been another charge. We now live in a completely bug free home. At least we're bug free until summer.

The representative was very nice and pleasant to work with, but the service was definitely overpriced. His walk-through was very fast and he only scanned obvious locations, pointed out the likely points of entry, plugged up a few but left others open because they required more detail than was included with the "deal," set three traps and that was it. The whole service call took less than 30 minutes. We followed his directions and plugged up the additional holes he located, but mice are resilient and, three months later, they're either back or they're getting sloppy and mocking us. Eradicating mice is tough and I didn't expect perfection, but I did expect a more thorough service for $150.

The technician arrived on time and completed the work quickly. He checked around the entire perimeter of my basement and set some traps even though his assessment was that there was little chance for mice to get into the basement

Ever since we had carpenter ants when we moved to our house 13 years ago, we have used Rose Exterminators on a quarterly basis. Gary has been our exterminator for the vast majority of that time. He is very knowledgeable - I just have to describe a bug and he knows what it is. He is also very personable - he feels like an old friend. He takes care of the house inside and out. In the past he has removed bees nests, and they haven't returned.

The technician who came was on time and pleasant but this was not worth the money. He was here about 20 minutes. I told him that mice had previously gotten into a space behind a built in set of drawers in our dining room and actually into the drawers. He looked and said there was no evidence of mice now and that was that. I let it go at that but later I realized I should asked how they had been getting in and and for their future entrance to be prevented. He looked under the stove (in front of which our cat often patrols) and did put some steel wool in a space behind the stove. He also put down a glue trap under the stove but I asked for it to be removed as I don't like them. He looked in the basement and said there was no current evidence of mice but put some poison in a hidden space. There have been mice in the past and I wish something had been done to make sure they couldn't enter again. Definitely not worth the money and the price I paid was with with an Angie's Deal so actually normally costs more

They helped us locate where they thought the mice were coming in. We tend to get mice every fall which is a real problem. We hired other companies before who say they are going to help you locate where the mice are coming from, but normally don't. We hope this will keep us from having the problem again. It seems like they have done a pretty good job.

In the end, it was too expensive. We would hire them in the future if they offered a lower cost.

Our professional came in as scheduled, determined the problem within 10 minutes and went to work to solve it. He found that we had a squirrel and not another rodent. He found some holes in the walls, patched them, set some traps and gave us a few tips for future reference. Very friendly and very professional. Great service and a very nice guy. Highly recommnend them.

I've been having Rose Pest Solutions (RPS) come to my mother's house to provide pest control QUARTERLY for about 3.5 years and terminated their "service" by letter on 10-2-12 after finding mice in Mom's house--in her hallway, in her kitchen, in her walls, in the tenant's flat. My mother is 91 years old. She lives in a 2-flat in Chicago. I live 4 hours away in WI and manage Mom's affairs. I initially called RSP when I found evidence of mice in Mom's pantry and agreed to have them come to her house quarterly to check for mice and insects. Mom's building is a 2 flat with an attic and a crawl space under the building that has a dirt floor. I specifically asked them to go into the crawl space to check for rodents each time they came. Mom's short-term memory is failing and she doesn't shadow workers anymore like she used to, but she does have a first floor tenant who watches things very carefully. The tenant says that RPS does not check the crawl space regularly and if they do, they might just open the hatch and look in without going in and checking. I realize it's a dirty job but that's why I pay them to do it. It's also a job that could easily be done in 15 minutes--the whole house. I contacted RSP 3 times by letter--2 times to address the fact that their workers weren't going into the crawl space, and finally to terminate their "service". I also spoke with them on the phone. I gave them every opportunity to resolve the service issues but them failed. Three weekends ago we saw/heard the mice and ourselves put D-Con all around. Ten days ago I put out more. In between our two treatments, RSP came out. Obviously, they let the problem get out of control. I live in the country. When I lived in an old farm house, I found that mice look to get in someplace warm when the weather cools. But when we continually put a couple boxes of D-Con in the cellar, we were able to eliminate the problem. If, for my $102 quarterly payment, RSP had put a little rat poison in Mom's crawl space, I believe they would have eliminated her problem also.

This was my first time dealing with pests and an exterminator. While I'm not happy about having pests I'm glad to have found Rose. Elliott arrived during time period alotted. He had a great personality when dealing with my tenant. My tenant has an issue keeping her kitchen clean and keeps food on the pantry floor. He explained to her the need to keep the floor clear of food so the mice would be more likely to take the bait instead of the free meal she was providing them. She was very responsive to him and cleaned up the pantry. We reviewed how they were getting in. He placed heavy duty steal wool in the wall cracks. Placed poison baits under the back porch where they were coming. Also informed me that rats were burrowing under the back porch to sleep. Not good. He place rat bait stations pretty close to the mounds of dirt. I feel like I got my money worth and learned interesting and helpful things about pests as well. I will use them again if needed.

Steve came out and was exceptionally professional. We had flies. He scoured the house, getting down on his hands and knees and looking in every possible place for a dead body (mouse/rat?). Never did find it, but he was confident that there was one somewhere, which was providing a food source for the flies. Probably in a crawl space or behind a wall? Our problem was resolved by Steve's expertise and meticulous inspection.
