From start to finish, my experience with Redline was Outstanding! I received my estimate and was able to book my project promptly as I had a time constraint to have my project completed. The overall knowledge and expertise of the estimator made choosing Redline very easy for me. The work was done on time and very non-disruptive to our home as we had surprise company while the painting was going on. The painters were very professional, kept my home clean and most importantly did a superb job! We had some older cabinets repainted and can honestly say that the value of having Redline painting them versus buying new ones is enormous! Our room looks so fresh and new that we can't believe how great it turned out!
Description of Work: We had our entire family room from the trim to the walls and ceiling repainted. Redline installed new baseboard where there were damaged ones. All doors, windows and baseboards were sanded and patched where necessary then painted 2 coats. We had a wet bar that was entirely repainted after being sanded and patched for new hardware. All doors had new hardware reinstalled by the painters.

START TO FINISH....HARD TO BEAT! We hired Redline to paint the inside of our home while we were out of town. Start to finish it was an excellent experience. We started by having Redline out to scope the work. They were highly consultative and knowledgeable when it came to paint colors and materials. They offered suggestions that seemed to have our best interest in mind. By the next morning we had a formal proposal sent in PDF that was both detailed in the scope of work and easy to read and understand. When we returned home a week later, we were welcomed to a newly painted home. We examined the work carefully and could not find any mistakes. Every hole, crack, chip was filled. The corners and edges were done to perfection. Clearly this is an organization that takes great pride in their work with attentiveness to details. Certainly that's attributal to the owner Chris, his hiring and training practices, and the values that Redline Painting support and maintain. Thank you for making our home beautiful, and for making the process painless and easy.

Redline Painting did an excellent job on our condo building's exterior stairs. The bid was reasonable, the quality was excellent and the crew was very professional. The job was done in a timely manner and with as little inconvenience to the residents. We recommend them for any painting project.
Description of Work: We had our condo buildings exterior stairs repainted. Light rust was removed, spot treated and then painted. They also stripped and re-stained the wood landings.

I received 3 estimates for the job from painters I found on Angie's List. Red Line was the most professional by far, and the price was competitive, although not the absolute lowest. Chris managed the project from start to finish and did a great job with everything. I did not have to deal with anyone other than him which I thought was important and made things go smoothly. They missed one small section of the iron fence, and when I emailed Chris about it they came back to finish it the same day. Most importantly though, the new paint looks amazing. Our building is less than 5 years old, so when the stairs starting rusted out it looked terrible. Now it looks brand new again. Also, he left us with a can of the paint and told me that I should just use it to touch up the high traffic areas each spring, which would prevent us from having to paint again so soon. He strikes me as a very honest contractor, doing good quality work at a very fair price.

Chris, the owner, was very professional. Overall, we were pleased with the work, but there was some paint left on our baseboards, some spots that weren't smoothed out, and paint from trim that dripped onto the walls. The job was done (by a contracted crew, I believe) fairly well, but the details weren't as fine as we would've liked them. Their pricing was extremely competitive, far more so than the other 2 companies we received estimates from.
Description of Work: Had 1,350 square feet painted in a condo, including ceilings that were painted white with walls and rooms painted various colors.

Went great. The thing that I want to point out more than any is that while in concept, painting is fairly straight forward and simple, in practice there's a lot to know and Chris, the owner of Redline is truly an expert in materials, usage, application, process, etc. He took the time to explain the process. We needed our deck stained and called Chris on a recommendation from several people that I know that have used him. Chris pointed out that it was not a big job and that he would be willing to step me through the proper process to do it myself. Wow...wasn't expecting that but felt it was great service...here's a guy trying to save me money while that is in direct conflict with what would benefit him. Because of my work and family schedule, I simply didn't have the time to do it myself so I proceeded with hiring Chris. Due to weather, we were delayed in getting started. Every time there was a delay, Chris called, even though I knew there was no way they could do the work. The end result is a beautiful deck for years to come. Chris definitely gained my trust through the process of hiring him for this small project. I will have some more extensive painting needs in the future, and I will definitely use Redline for my needs!

I got them off of Angie?s List. He did an okay job and the experience was okay. It was a small job, and I felt that they sent someone who didn?t even know how to do the job. They did the drywall for my ceiling because of water damage, and when they were re-plastering it, he asked me for my hairdryer so that he could dry it. He should have come with his dryer. The guy told me he didn?t get the equipment along because he didn?t think that it was a big job. My hairdryer was all ruined because it was all full of some white stuff. The price was fair but I think he could have done a better job. I don?t think they were bad but I wouldn?t use them again.

We really appreciated the thoroughness Chris' team provided. His on-site project managers were always knowledgable, friendly, helpful and creative in problem solving. He was the only painting company we talked to who could provide a long-term solution for maintaining metal decks, which for us, were rusting badly after less than 5 years after construction. Chris was very knowledgable in the materials used to coat the deck and gave us a couple of cost options. His estimates are very thorough, detailed and broken out. We were referred by our home inspector. We appreciated the project management/account management this business provided. Oftentimes, the owner or manager of a business may be very impressive up front, but the follow-through on execution isn't optimal. Chris seems to run a tight team of folks who knew what they were doing, and the instructions/information obviously cascaded down. We were so impressed that we asked Red Line to also help us repair/repaint our interior areas as well as our rooftop deck (which we tried to stain/weatherseal ourselves very poorly). While I had Chris estimating the rooftop deck refinishing, I asked him if any of the guys could do handywork in adding additional support for railings that were sagging. Of course, with a rooftop deck, it's not like you can nail anything through the roof...everything has to be done with balance. One of his project managers engineered a new support brace on each of the two interior railings that attached to the current deck, but did not damage the roof surface. It was very inventive and prevented us from having to contract someone else! They did a great job on everything. After inspecting the interior work in different lights, we asked them to come back to redo an area. They sent someone within a few days. Their pricing was fair, and we received a nice discount for the interior work after hiring them for our mutual condo association repairs. What I appreciated most out of all of the work was the expertise on multiple surfaces and materials--from wood to metal to drywall...They were able to think outside of the box and provide recommendations for fixing very different types of issues, and sometimes for things that may extend beyond their core business (e.g., the wood deck bracing they built for us). Red Line has cleary done their research, has great experience, hires quality and trustworthy staff. I'm going to have to beg Chris to see if he can accommodate business in the suburbs where we plan to move! I definitely would like to use Red Line again and would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: --Main wall (spans three stories) repair (mudding) and painting --Exterior metal decks repaired, recoated and painted to prevent future rusting for entire building (only my share of the overall condo building's total is included in above estimate) --Surrounding metal iron gate painting (only my share is included in above estimate) --Roof top wooden deck railing repair --Rooftop wooden deck reseal/stain --Common condo hallway painting --Bathroom wall repair (mudding) and painting --Outdoor door painting

Red Line did everything a good company should do. Courteous, on time, work well done. But they did MUCH more than that. When problems arose, as they always do when working on an older (40 years) Condo Building, Red Line fixed them and actually did not want extra payment! I did not know companies like that existed.

It really was pretty painless. We picked the paint colors, they got the paint, and painted. It almost seemed too easy, but I guess that is why they are professionals.
Description of Work: Chris and his company did a fine job of finishing my other basement. We had recently had it refinished by Catalyst Construction and we needed to find a good painting company. I can't say enough good things about Chris. They are really organized, professional, and do the highest quality work. In the future, I will recommend these guys to anyone that asks for a great painter.

We tried doing this ourselves and it just wasn't working. I know Chris from our neighborhood and have used him for condo building projects and had always been pleased. He came over, gave us an estimate and explained exactly what was going to be involved. It was 3-4 days of mess and smell but we are very pleased with the end product. The vintage tile is show some patina but I think we are going to have a fun and cool 20s deco bathroom to show off.
Description of Work: Chris stripped several layers of paint off ceramic tile in our bathroom. We thought we could do it ourselves but the finish proved to be much tougher than we thought.

We were extremely pleased with our experience with Redline Painting. Chris was friendly and easy to work with. He came promptly to our house when we called and provided an immediate estimate for the project. The work was scheduled shortly thereafter and was confirmed twice by phone (early in the week and the morning of the project). The painters were courteous and professional. They politely asked permission to turn on music while they worked and even thanked me several times for the "hospitality" while they were in my home. I've never felt so comfortable having total strangers working in my home for an extended period of time. When the job was finished, Chris came to make sure everything was satisfactory before the crew left. He reminded us to call if we noticed any problems when the paint was fully dry. He even sent us an email several days later to make sure there were no issues. This project ended up costing us much less than we had expected and took less time as well. This was by far the best experience we've had with a contractor in Chicago (and we've had plenty of work done in our house). We would highly recommend Redline Painting.

Red Line Painting completed an interior project for us and the experience was great. Chris was was very easy to schedule with and came out the same week I called. The price was given on the spot and ended up being one of the lower prices we received. Chris was there to start the project and make sure we were comfortable with everything. He was very professional and always reachable by phone throughout the duration. The crew that he sent was wonderful. They were courteous and very respectful and did a great job! When the job was done, they cleaned everything up and did a final walk thru with us. We will definitely recommend Red Line Painting to all of our friends.

After moving into our new condo, my wife wanted to add her personal touch and we were referred to Red Line Painting by a friend. We spoke with the owner personally and he came to our home for a free consultation and estimate. We did get 2 other estimates as well. However, my wife and I were more comfortable working with Red Line Painting. He was very candid and honest. During the actual production, the crews were polite and efficient. They finished the project a lot quicker than expected. My wife and I were very pleased with the finished project and appreciated the follow up from both the owner and project manager. My overall experience was quite exceptional and I would definitely recommend Red Line Painting to all of my friends and family.

Hiring Red Line Painting was a great experience. I chose Chris based on his thorough knowledge and great presentation. I was confident that he would do an excellent job. The crew showed up on time and spent quite a bit of time ensuring my furniture and NEW FLOORING were both protected prior to getting started. They worked quickly and were very considerate of the fact that I work from home. They finished the job as scheduled and walked me through it upon completion to ensure that it was to my satisfaction. I have referred Red Line Painting to a few of my friends already. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Red Line Painting completed the entire interior of my home. They moved and masked off furniture, prepared the walls and some of my trim, and painted everything.
