Description of Work: I bought the $19 inspection, and requested the installation of two sided brass finished deadbolts (both sides require keys) in two doors with large windows. They offered Saturday service which was scheduled between 10AM and 12PM. They called the day before to confirm, and also called at 9AM the day of service to advise the tech would arrive at 10AM, and would call me to advise when he was 10 minutes away. The tech Guillermo called and arrived on time. I showed him the doors, and he inquired as to whether I wanted the same key for both doors, which I did. He prepared the deadbolts in his van, and asked me for a garbage bag to cover the floor as there would be wood chips from drilling holes in the doors. He was extremely neat and utilized a device which caught most of the wood chips. The locks appear to be high quality, and were perfectly installed without any damage/scratches to the doors. Guillermo was extremely professional, personable, and polite, as well as being an expert locksmith with over 15 years of experience. He is Columbian, and although he has only been in Chicago for 6 months, and had no prior knowledge of English, he proudly told me that he is continuing to learn and practice the language. I found him to be relatively fluent. Quick Key is fortunate to have Guillermo as one of their locksmiths, and his quality work, professional demeanor, and desire to learn are to be commended. I am completely satified with the project. I was advised as to the cost prior to work commencing, which was higher than I expected it would be, as Quick Key has a standard charge of $100 for drilling a hole in a door and in the door frame when installing a new lock. The cost would have only been $258 if I was switching out existing locks, and simple rekeying is only $40. Charge cards and checks are accepted.

Description of Work: I was very satisfied with the initial service call by Brittany who rekeyed a door but couldn't fix my front door lock. She quoted $65 to replace the front door lock and I went ahead and ordered the lock. When I called back to schedule I was told that she no longer worked for them and quoted an outrageous price for the lock. I was very upset. The boss called back and said he would honor the price but that was why Brittany was fired. I accepted the offer but said I would have to call back to reschedule the appt. It got very cold and I was away on several vacations but today attempted to reschedule the appt. Again I was quoted a very high price and an additional service call. I reminded the gal what had happened and that the boss had said he would do it for $65 if not much alteration needed to be done with the new lock. The partner of the boss I spoke to said he couldn't do the job for $65. I said I would like to speak with the boss who had made this promise to me. He told me he was away on vacation. He then spoke with him. There was clearly double speak as they claimed I didn't accept the offer and then denied that an offer had been made. I was told that all their conversations were taped and that they would listen back. I said to please do because they would hear the offer that was made. The secretary just called back saying that wouldn't service me. I was told that I need to ask Angie's List for my service call payments to be returned as they won't do it (even after he told me he would refund the service call). This is an unprofessional business who do not understand that to make promises and not keep them is short sighted and bad for business. I would suggest that people be very wary of this company because they do not keep the promises that they make. Very upsetting.

Description of Work: They advertised--and I bought--a coupon for locksmith services for $19 but that was just for someone to come to my house--labor was a separate charge. So I didn't use them. I want a refund.
