Bob and Levon were fantastic - professional, friendly, conscientious, and determined to get my problem fixed as quickly/safely and as they could with minimal damage to my drywall. They kept me informed, giving me options and their recommendations as they went. They worked hard and were relentless in their search, always ready with another idea on how to find it if some approach/attempt didn't pan out. They were definitely motivated to get the problem corrected fast so that I could call the gas company and get the heat back on, but they also were very careful to make sure that they had fully fixed the problem. They were also conscious of the money I was spending on them, letting me know that they would be willing to stay until it was fixed that evening on the day I called them but just reminding me about the overtime pay and that it would be expensive. They said that they could come back bright and early the following day instead if I'd prefer to get started back on the problem on straight time. We got a hotel room that night and opted for that option, and they were indeed there bright and early to attack the problem. Many thanks, Bob and Levon! Very happy I called Power Plumbing.

I was having trouble lighting the pilot on my water heater. I spoke with John to schedule a service call so they could do it for me. John was patient and walked me threw it step by step over the phone. He said I could do it and that I did not need him. He was correct, I did it with his help. This type of service reminded me of how things used to be. I will definitely use this firm in the future for billable work.

We contacted Power, a company our 6 flat condo association regularly uses, to inspect a suspected sink hole below our basement floor. They brought out a camera ready to look at the line, then after further inspection, excavated the floor, as it was evident we had a sink hole, likely from a broken floor drain pipe. Mike was great to work with, communicating regularly with me on progress and showing me what he found under the floor and explaining to me the steps needed to fix our problem. In addition to dealing with the sink hole issue Lavonne(spelling?) and Mike noticed gas connections in our basement that were leaking and needed attention. Mike capped them and removed an unsafe heater installed years before by "a guy" the association hired. He also noticed that one of our floor drains was very slow and cleared it to the catch basin for us, then explained how I could maintain that drain myself. This is not an unusual experience with Power. All of the plumbers we have had from this company are professional and point out areas that could be an issue in the future, helping to prevent emergencies. They are our go to plumbing company.

I called Power Plumbing after Toto Bros Tile and Flooring ruined my bathroom! I hired Toto Bros to install ceiling to floor tile and a pitched shower floor using the same tile throughout the bathroom. Toto Bros said they installed Durock and a shower membrane but DID NOT! The shower drain needed to be lowered in order to install the new pitched floor. I was misled by Toto Bros in them telling me that they could just tile around the drain and it would be fine. If I had listened to Toto Bros the shower floor would have fallen down through to my second floor ceiling and the water damage and injuries could have been catastrophic! I immediately shut down their work and called Power Plumbing to have them look at the situation. Jason stopped over the same day and accessed the situation. After several tiles were removed from the floor he could see the plumbing work. He told me there was no waterproofing material installed to the shower floor. He used a telescoping camera to investigate the plumbing problem. He was professional, compassionate to my situation and walked me through the steps needed to be taken to resolve all of the plumbing problems. I called the office and talked with Stephanie who was so attentive to my serious situation. She went above and beyond the call of duty for me. Stephanie let me know that the schedule was booked solid. She was kind enough to rework the schedule and Jason was there a few days later. I really do not know what I would have done without the help of Stephanie, Jason and Power Plumbing! It is a family owned company and you can tell that they really put their customers first. The company does what they say they will do for you, on time, in a professional manner and the cost is very reasonable. Jason was a miracle worker! The minute he waled in my home he got right to work. No personal calls (like some vendors), no breaks, very polite, efficient and very tidy. He put down drop cloths, cleaned up all areas, and did an amazing job. I am so glad I found a reputable plumbing company. I will definitely recommend them to my clients as well as friends.

Contractor was prompt with the work and friendly. However, his talkativeness probably cost my an extra hour since they round up. sweated a pipe into a threaded connection, which although functional, is not very good workmanship. Cost seems a little high for the work, but they were able to schedule on a Sat under short notice.

We were extremely happy with the responsiveness and professionalism of the company. They are not inexpensive, but we got quality work done on our terms. We would hire them again.

They're true plumbers. They are major company but they are true plumbers. They actually know what they're doing. I'm using them on the remodelling for the plumbing. When I have any plumbing issues, they are the go to people. He gave us a few pointers about doing the remodelling and making sure the plumbing is separate. We'll definitely gonna use them. I would highly recommend them to anyone. You can tell they're well trained on their field because they know what they're talking about. They have fair prices. Claudia, the representative of their company, she's very professional. She's a very caring person. She really assists and helps you. She's good in following up and confirming. She's just an excellent person as part of the team. She deserves a write-up because she's very good.

The Chicago Department of Water advised me I have a leak somewhere in my historic Lincoln Park row house, so on Monday I called Power Plumbing, my second choice on Angie's List after the first plumber I called never got back to me. After I explained what I needed, the person who answered the phone told me I would have to pay for two separate inspections, one for inside the house and a second for outside the house. I agreed to this, hoping I would only have to pay for one inspection. I was told that "a plumber" would call me later in the week. That never happened. I waited through today, the following Monday, but never heard from them. This is the second plumber on Angie's List not to get back to me. Maybe they are out of my league.

Scott was on time and very professional. After some investigation he gave me the bad news: the toilet had clearly not been installed by a professional and needed more repair than I had hoped for. He offered a solution, which worked and I am very confident in the work he did. We've hired Power Plumbing several times before and will certainly hire them again.

Called and spoke to Rae, herself, I believe. Gave her the rundown of my issue and she described a variety of scenarios. I did appreciate this, but I'm extremely busy and don't have this kind of time, however, it seemed important to her and I appreciated her time. But now I'm starting to understand that when a plumber says they need to call you back to make an appointment that they don't really want the work. Me, being a direct person, would have preferred that communicated to me instead of receiving no call back to schedule an appointment. Thank you Angie's list for allowing your subscribers to post the good the bad and the ugly. Sorry PPS, but you get an F from me. I'm in a customer service role and I wouldn't dream of discounting a potential client.

Scott was fabulous! On time, professional, incredibly knowledgeable, great sense of humor! He told me that the original installation of the toilet was not done correctly. He explained that the wrong kind of seal and bolts had been used. He went into detail about the kinds of seals that are used and why. Scott completely cleaned the area before reinstalling the toilet and caulked the base explaining that doing so isn't so much for securing the toilet to the floor as it is to prevent water from going under the toilet when cleaning the floor. Great tip! He also installed a new flapper in the tank. I also asked him if his company replaced bathroom floors because I'm thinking of doing that at some point and he said no, but they could refer me to a contractor. And I do want to mention that Power Plumbing recently did a major repair job to the main water pipe in my condo and they were the best. I will definitely use Power Plumbing in the future!!!

It was fantastic. I've been using them for about ten years now.

The original visit was because I had a leaky bathroom faucet. I was hoping the fix would be easy but on that visit the plumber told me I had to replace the whole faucet. I asked for a quote for the work and received only a verbal quote. The plumber left, the leak remained and this diagnosis cost me $145. I went and purchased a new faucet on my own and then had the plumber return and install it and that ran me $255 for that visit. I'm not sure if calling a place that would have come out for a free quote in the first place would have saved me money in the end, but I wasn't thrilled with the $145 I was charged for the first visit since no work towards fixing the leak was done. Scheduling these two visits was a little bit difficult in that both times the plumber was early (like hours early) and I was still at work and had to run home as fast as I could. Having a plumber be early isn't the worse thing, but if you don't stay home all day, I would be very clear (I thought I was both times, but I still ended up racing home from work to meet the plumber) on the phone about when you will be able to be at your home and when you won't.

I've used Power Plumbing on several occasions and have always had a great experience with them. As I'm in the middle of moving into t new home, they came and did an inspection and cleaning of the flood control system in the front yard. I had also wanted them to install a garbage disposal. But before they did that, I had them provide an opinion on a surprise I found hiding in the basement; a catch basin. Previous owner had kept it hidden from me and it was smack in the middle of the basement floor. It was going to affect how I used the finished basement as well as prevent me from installing the disposal. After John's inspection, he advised I didn't want a disposal while I still had this thing. Better though, was his advice on how I could remove it. So Power Plumbing is coming back to help me with this project. I appreciated the adivce, good service, reasonable pricing and all around great customer interaction.John's partner with him that day would soon be leaving the company. In spite of that, he had nothing but praise for the company. He felt they were a strong, knowledeable group of people and more importantly, honest. I will use Power Plumbing for all of my future plumbing needs.

I have used Power Plumbing on a few occasions. Each time they service has been very good. The communication with their office is excellent and helpful and they have been great about keeping me informed on arrival times. The plumber(s) themselves have been courteous and friendly and alway explained what they were doing and about how much it would cost. I have been very happy with their service.

I am not a huge reviewer but felt my experience with John and Power Plumbing was overwhelming positive enough that it deserved recognition. I called Power Plumbing to investigate the source of water in my kitchen. John came out and identified the water line source within minutes (along with another unrelated optional item he suggested replacing) and was extremely professional and courteous describing to me the issue. He did not have the parts to fix the issue immediately so he did not charge me for the brief call. He worked with his scheduler to identify a time he could return to do the work with the appropriate parts for both issues (the water source was shut off and non-crucial and I indicated i was not in a hurry). A week before the appointment I called Power Plumbing to indicate I had decided to just do the original work at this time and they shortened my appointment accordingly. John honored the original estimate for just the water line even though he did a bit of additional work (this was due to miscommunication with the updated appointment call) even after I half heartedly offered to pay more. I found this extremely professional of both John and the business. They took a situation that could have ended sourly and turned it into a situation that will make me a repeat customer and recommender of their business.

Our ejector pump stopped working. I called Power and they sent James out a few hours later. It wasn't a huge emergency but I needed it done quickly. James took everything apart and replaced the switch. He was very professional and even cleaned up the floor for me when he was done. He even gave some great advice on how to maintain the ejector pump and such. Very positive experience.

The gentleman came out, took a look, and saying a schedule. He could not make it the first time and explained up a vision and I was fine with that. So, when he did come out, he took a look and there was no problem. We can get this on, they brought you, will not cost too much because I received the email quote and I will take it away by that. He was very detailed and that went great but that was just over the top. I did not go with them. They did that because they did call and have a team to answer the call, and fetch a person. That is very organize and nice but I guess, that is what you are paying for. That was just too much. So, I went with someone else for the repair. When it came to the quote, they were very expeditious and the quote was provided within the specified time frame which is nice. They did all of through one estimate work with that within 24 hours. They did provide me the best, so, that was nice.

They sent Scott out to diagnose the problem. He was wonderful! Extremely intelligent and professional! Successfully diagnosed a low hot water pressure issue (needed a new hot water tank). Scott and another person came back to install a new tank a few days later and did an excellent job. My only complaint is that they are (in my opinion) very expensive. Yes, they installed the water heater within the price range quoted but nevertheless I feel the price was very expensive. I guess you get (good, knowledgeable service) what you pay for.

We have this service yearly so as to avoid any chance of water in our basement. They are always dependable, professional, and helpful. The service people went out of their way to provide us information about their work and the needs we might have in the future. I believe they know their business and have a positive relationship with their customers.

They did the initial damage assessment at no cost approximately one year ago. Unfortunately the repair was more than we could afford, so they offered two repair options. One was with a lesser grade pump that would be difficult to service in the future, and one was with a locally sourced pump that could be serviced more easily. We ended up going with the local, and more expensive pump after saving for nearly a year. When the new bid came in, they basically honored the old one and scheduled us as soon as the parts came in. The installer spent a long time to make sure that everything was correct, which ended up being much longer than anticipated. They still met the initial estimate however and the finished product works quite well. Am considering replacing my normal plumber with them.

Excellent service, called in same morning for service and within an hour they arrived. Installed a new garbage disposal under an hour. 5 star service.

Recd call that plumber ran into problems on a call and may not be able to come on scheduled day. When I explained our situation, they immediately said that he could come but it would be much later, they couldn't give us an estimate on time. Our original appt was from 1200 noon-330p, he arrived at 545p. John definitely knew what he was doing and was very patient with us and answered all our questions.

The supply line in my upstairs bathroom sprang a leak while I was at work. My 80-year-old mother, who just happened to be visiting me, called me at work to tell me about the spray that was shooting out of the supply line and drenching the bathroom floor. I called Power Plumbing, who I have used before, and the woman who answered the phone was very responsive. She let me know that they would have the first available plumber out to fix the leak and explained what the charges would be. It did take a 2 to 3 hours for someone to be available (in the meantime a neighbor helped my mother get the water to the bath shut off). When the plumber (Patrick) showed up he was extremely nice to my mother. He quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired the line. He showed her the crack in the old valve, even using a Sharpie to circle the defect so she could show me when I got home. He helped her get the water turned back on. She kept commenting on what a "nice young man" he was. I will definitely use Power Plumbing again.

John and Tim arrived when I expected and got right to work. They worked quickly and they knew what they were doing. Less than an hour after they arrived, they were packing up their equipment and ready to be off. I have used Power in the past and have always had a great plumbing experience. They are great folks to work with.
