I am very, very happy with them. They are fair in the pricing. When I call them, it's usually an emergency situation and they are very responsive. I do a lot of work with different properties and need a company that I can trust. I have that with Power Plumbing. I will definitely continue to use them for future service.

I called after midnight when I noticed the problem and they had a crew out at 7am. The crew came out in February when it was snowing and raining. They worked very hard despite the circumstances and were very nice and professional. They did a tremendous job. The price was also very competitive. I would definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

I called to make an appointment with Power Plumbing. Stephanie answered the phone and scheduled me in. I called the Saturday before to confirm that I had an appointment. When I called, they told me they were booked that day, but that I was on the schedule for the 21st. The Thursday before this appointment, I called to confirm this date and the gentleman that answered did not identify himself, but he said that I was on the schedule from 10am - 2pm on the 21st. I got a call from Stephanie at 2:40 on the 21st saying that the man was in overtime and if he was to come out I would have to pay the overtime, even though I was already scheduled. She told me that I didn't understand that the appointment was tentative and that I was not hearing her correctly. That's not good customer service. I was the one at fault, I was the one that didn't listen. Because I never met the plumbers I'm basing this report on the people I've talked to at the front desk. I never want to deal with this company again based on my initial interaction with the front desk. Maybe their plumbers are very good, but I never got to try out their services. First impressions count.

Why they would advertise on Angie's list, schedule appointments and then not show up is beyond ridiculous.

We made an appointment with Power Plumbers when we noticed water coming up through our kitchen floor. Mike and Vince were on time and quickly got to work looking for the source of the leak. They ended up breaking into some of the walls in our kitchen and found mold growing in them. They eventually were able to find the problem and fix the pipe. They took pictures for the insurance company (I wasn't sure what to take pictures of), cleaned up all of the mess (but saved the materials they thought the insurance adjuster might want to see) and also volunteered to talk to the insurance company if needed. We are very pleased with the work they did, but also with the way we were treated with care and concern. They treated us with respect and really took the time to make sure they did the job right.

It went well. I was able to wait until the next day for the work to be done so it would not cost more. They cleaned up well after themselves. They gave me a two hour time frame and they were here in that time.

Bill from Power Plumbing and Sewer came out within an hour of our phone call and did a fantastic job fixing two burst pipes. He worked efficiently, kept us apprised of what he discovered, and provided helpful advice to prevent this from happening again in the future. He cleaned up well after completing the work.

It went well. I'm pleased that they found the source of our smell, and the basement plumbing jobs looks very nice.

Called plumber and he was able to come out later that day. He arrived on-time and was very professional. Gave us resources on where to order parts and we were able to finish the work ourselves.

He was very careful. He was very open. He was very professional. He was courteous and kind. I would use him in the future. The quality of his work was good.

We moved into our new apartment in Lincoln Park and during our second night there, we got a call from our neighbor downstairs to say there was water leaking through his ceiling. There was water coming in through our ceiling and the floor to our utility closet. My husband checked Angie's list and found Power Plumbing - they were local to us and had a high rating. They could have come out the same day but I wasn't sure if our neighbors would be there to let them in to check their apartment, so we made an appointment for the next day, between 7.30 and 8am. The guy turned up at about 8.10 and checked out our closet. He identified that we had water coming in from above and we went to the upstairs neighbor where he found that their condensation pipe from the a/c unit was disconnected from the drain, hence the leak below. This was fixed in about 5 mins so we got him to work on our sink unit in our master bath that was installed incorrectly by the previous owner. He had all the parts with him so worked on this (as he was here anyhow, so we thought we might as well get some other stuff fixed). The job took 1 hour and quarter and was done quickly and professionally. We are happy with the work and will definitely use them again.

Our call to Power was handled as always promptly and pleasantly by Rae who said she would try to get a plumber to us as quickly as possible. One hour later Jason arrived and within an hour had the repair completed. He had to break through drywall to access the pipe and he did that and the pipe repair quickly, neatly and efficiently. He told us the pipe was not pitched properly for drainage and we made arrangements with him to return 3 days later to correct that problem. For the second repair, Rae called us to let us know he was on his way and again, Jason completed the work quickly and neatly. We appreciate the fact that Jason told us about the improper pitch of that pipe. Everyone we have ever worked with at Power has been the picture of professionalism. They will always be our go-to plumbers.

Scott came to deal with a slow-running shower drain. He came first in February and tried to rod the tub but was unsuccessful due to the presence of a drum trap. At the time we decided to try other options before opening the wall and he suggested several. They didn't work, however, and we had him back in late May to open the wall. Scott first tried to rod through the sink, and when that didn't work, went step-by-step to solve the problem, always explaining to me what he was doing and why. He eventually removed an access panel in the wall, found the drum trap, and successfully removed the blockage. Our shower runs beautifully! Scott was prompt, friendly, professional and cleaned up our bathroom when he was done. I was very happy with his work and would call him again anytime. Some members have said their prices are high, but with plumbing work, I think it's worth it to get it done absolutely right by a real pro.

The drain installation was suggested as a proactive solution to this ongoing problem. I think they made an absolute right recommendation. I did not feel pressured to accept their advise or their price estimate, but they were able to schedule the contractor for this specialty work within 2 days. A city inspector is required to be present when the T-pipe is installed and they were able to arrange this as well. They came early (7:AM) and worked all day to dig a 6x6x6ft hole and tie in the T-pipe about 12ft in diameter feed into the drain pipe. Although they encountered an on site problem, I was not charged extra. I had extensive house flooding last summer but I believe they have corrected my problem. I had worked with this company before and trusted their job performance.

It went well. They were done in a day. Price was reasonable. Only complaint was that it took them 3 weeks to get to the job.

Our sump pump was ejecting water all over our utility closet after we had just finished two loads of laundry on Sunday morning. I looked up a local plumber on Angie's list and called them immediately. I left a message with Power Plumbing & Sewer's answering service and within 15 minutes Robin called me. I told her what was happening and she explained to me what was technically happening based on my description and then told me my options, including a temporary solution to avoid having to pay the extra cost of having someone come out on a Sunday. We went with that option, and I called them back Monday morning to schedule someone to come out that day. They were able to get someone to our house by 10:30AM, and he was finished in an hour and a half. The plumber confirmed what Robin had suspected was the problem and he fixed it.

Very good- prompt and quick, what else could you ask for. They call you to let you know when someone is coming and follow up. The plumber needed a few special parts, ordered them, then came back in a few days to finish the job.

As a returning customer Rae Lynn promptly scheduled a plumber for the next afternoon (12-2) Jesse arrived on time and replaced leaking trap and tested with running water. Unfortunately the trap leaked again, but only when the washer dumped a full load of water in the tub. Jesse came out the following day and added some additional washers and silicone tape and retested. Everything was OK and premises were left in a clean condition. While I could have gotten by a bit cheaper by hiring a handy man service at $95/hr., it probably would have taken longer unless the handyman service had the parts on hand, which is doubtful. I know with Power Plumbing I will pay the going union rate, but I know the work will be done efficiently and correctly.

The men were courteous and knowledgeable, and very hard working. They came when they said they would, stayed until the job was done and did a great job. A much better job than the "big name" guys did who we had come out a couple of years ago. Additionally, they treated my Dad with courtesy and respect, which the other guys definitely did not. We definitely recommend Power Plumbing to anyone who needs plumbing work done.

While hooking up the dishwasher, we noticed that there was a problem with a pipe. They came back out to look at it and charged me even though they couldn't fix it. The people they send out are incompetent. I told them I would never use them again.

The service was great. Great communication from the the home base. Plumber showed up on time and did a great job. Used the same too! I already had but was better at getting the toy out than I was! Seemed a bit on the expensive side, but plumbing work is expensive in general.

The receptionist and I over the phone were able to isolate the problem and determine that it was the pilot light on the hot water heater, that had blown out, but I didn't know how to re-light the pilot. Someone was out at my condo within the hour, re-lit the pilot and explained to me how to do it myself if it happened to go out again. Also, they gave me the contractor's rate since it was such a quick fix.

Power Plumbing sent out a plumber who showed up on time and knew exactly what needed to be done. He shut off the water at the street, then replaced the valve. He had everything he needed and explained everything he did.

Overall, I was very pleased with the project. The installer arrived early, was professional and friendly, and performed the work efficiently. There were a couple of material problems that he identified during the installation (hairline crack in the toilet and broken frost free spicket) but both were pro-actively brought to my attention and addressed at no additional cost. The work was expensive, but high-quality and in-line with my expectations. I plan on using Power for my future plumbing needs.

The two master bath lavatory sinks stopped draining at the same time at 6:30 in the morning. We found Power Plumbing on Angie's web site and called when they opened at 7:30 a.m. and were promised a plumber before noon or between noon and 2 p.m. The plumber Scott arrived by 8:45 a.m.! As described above, the work was done within 2 hours at a fair price. Scott also gave us valuable advice on how to maintain the drains. He was very knowledgeable about the science of chemical drain cleaners and how they interact with the pipes. He was very professional, had clean work habits, and good communication skills. He also really believes in his company and is a good example why it is successful.
