The extremely professional plumber came on time, as arranged. Went straight to work. Removed the bathtub side, let the water run, and then checked. There was a small leak, so he proceded to fix it. And while there, he caulked all around the tub, and checked everything was in good working order. It wasn't cheap, but it was good work. In the meantime, 3 of my neighbors saw him, and came running to see if he could do some work where they need it. I have a few cards left by the Plumber, and they were snatched up by the neighbors. I will also recommend him to the management association.

They are very good with old pipes and old buildings. They really know what they're doing and are clearly experienced people. They are always on time. A lot of their employees have worked for them for decades.

I had a bit of an emergency where a sink shut off valve wasn't functioning and I had had to turn off water to the whole building. Power Plumbing came out within two hours, replaced the valve and tried to repair my sink. Since they didn't have the part in the truck that I needed, they said they could get it or replace the faucet, but I could probably do it myself and save money. They gave me the name, phone, and location of where to get the part, told me how to replace it, and said I could call them with questions. I also had issues with restoring water to the building, and they walked me through it over the phone, trying to avoid me having to pay for guys to come out at time and a half rates. When I had to replace the faucet, the guy on call told me where I could get one for a discount and tried to work out a scheduling so I neither had to pay time and a half nor double time. They will always try to save you money by talking themselves out of work. When they rodded my sewers, they told me I didn't have to do it as often and that I'd save money doing so. They always try to be as candid as possible and not have you pay for what you don't need, even by walking you through a job so you can do it yourself. I cannot recommend these honest, responsive, helpful people enough.

I called them they gave me a heads up that they can look at it and see what the problem but they do not fix a broken one. I was ok with that and they came and fixed the issue in ten minutes and explained how to take care of it in the future if it happened. I thought they were a little expensive .... but i did not mind it as they got the job done

Power Plumbing & Sewer Contractor had to cut tree roots out of our plumbing. They had to cut through the floor and break the pipes apart to be able to re route them. They did the job very quickly and they were very professional.

The faucet was leaking, so we turned the water off and gave Power Plumbing a call to get an estimate and to see when someone would be available to come out. They were one of two places we called. Rae Lynn was very nice when I called with my questions. She gave an estimate and said someone could be out today. They sent someone out within an hour of my call. Levon came out and took care of the problem in short order. He was very nice to deal with as well.

Guy on the phone was helpful, needed to put me on hold to look up my records, but not too long. What impressed me was that he asked me if he could call back (usually the last I hear from a company) but by golly, he did call only a couple minutes later! Definitely prefer that to waiting on hold forever. Was able to schedule for me quickly (next morning). Gus showed up right on time, and was very professional. I appreciated that he was comfortable explaining options for me and assessing scenarios from my perspective (the homeowner/check writer). Went out of his way to save me money, repairing shoddy work from the builder. Always told me what consequences might be for drastic action, letting me decide what to do. Gus is clearly an experienced and professional plumber, who's earned himself and his company a loyal customer. I don't like giving "all A's" on a report card, I mean c'mon how often do you get a perfect experience? There was simply nothing I could fault Power Plumbing for.

While only a quote, their advice was excellent and kept in mind my budget.

After explaining the options for power rodding and cost, the plumber explained the service cap to the stack was corroded and leaking slightly, but he hoped it could be successfully replaced. He encountered a blockage near the sewer outlet under the street. He retrieved his rodder and explained the likely cause was tree roots based on the lack of scouring on the tip had it been a drain pipe collapse. He offered to send a video probe (extra charge) to confirm but he was confident in his diagnosis. We discussed preventative methods. Short of asking the City to cut down our neighbor's tree, we will likely need future roddings. The Angie's list discount was appreciated.

I think they drag their feet a little too much when they are working. I think they could do it a lot faster. They don't always fix the problem. He installed the toilet. I used it and it rocked forward. I thought it was going to tip over. That should have been checked out when he installed it. My husband fixed it. I called them two weeks later. They said they would fix it if it is something they didn't do right. They said if the floor wasn't level that they would charge me to come out. I told them it should have been done in the first place.

I selected Power Plumbing solely because of their exceptional rating here on Angie's list. Over the course of a few days I made a couple of phone calls to confirm pricing etc. and then made a third phone call today to make an appointment. I was told someone could be at my place in 30-45 mins, which was great. Unfortunately it was about an hour and 15 mins before they arrived, but not a big deal, it was still very fast! Louis arrived, checked out the situation and went to work. From start to finish the entire appointment was just under an hour. There was a discrepancy between the parts pricing Louis had on the invoice and the estimate I had been given on the phone. One quick call from Louis back to the office and all was resolved. I ended up paying exactly what I had been told on the phone and got very prompt service. The people I spoke to on the phone (Paul and a woman who's name I did not get) and Louis (who did the work) were polite, courteous and efficient. No games, no run-arounds, no bait-and-switch, it was a refreshing experience.

Scott Mendrek was very professional. He patiently, and with detail, answered all questions I posed to him. Despite what was revealed to have been a less than professional installation by the original owners of the house, Scott was able to correct the valve leakage without removing any tile or sub-structure. Additionally, he removed the portion of the ceiling that had been damaged by the leakage and discovered an unknown leak in a slip joint below the tub, which he repaired. He recommended several drywall repair companies for the ceiling damage. He also provided homeowner tips to encourage me to have a better understanding of my home's plumbing.

Excellent. Second time I've used them. Prompt, polite, friendly and did a clean job. Couldn't even tell they had been there unlike plumbers I've used in the past. Even explained how to prevent problems in the future and taught me how to fix minor problems myself.

I called Power Plumbing and they were able to set me up with an oppointment on that very day! The plumber arrived promptly, wore boot covers, and explained everything that he was doing. He was very polite and careful, and he cleaned up after he was done. Both repairs took no longer than 2 hours altogether. My toilet no longer leaks from the bottom and my sink drains well. I was very happy with this company

Very prompt, very professional, and very efficient. They arrived right on time and were unloading supplies before I got to the door. They unpacked the new water heater outside and took care of the trash so they only brought in what they needed. They came in and assessed the situation, and began draining the broken water heater. I noticed that they were very careful in coming up the stairs, through the doorway, and down the hall with the water heater. They were just as conscious in taking out the broken one, and even opted to go a longer route around the building to avoid possibly damaging some wooden stairs. They were conscious of any mess made, cleaned up as they went along, and made sure everything was working properly before leaving. A+ Job. I didn't comment on the price since I didn't really compare with others-but-I am totally satisfied with the price.

Really superb service AND truly knowledgeable plumbers. The job went great-and for paying time and a half on a midnight call, it was still less than what I had expected, but not too much less! For a company, and not a one-man operation, this one is the absolute best-plus finding a good honest and experienced plumber in Chicago is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I highly recommend this company!

Called Power Plumbing mid day on a Friday afternoon based on their Angie'sList reviews. They dispatched Luis who quickly ascertained that we needed a new water heater based on the age and physical condition of the existing tank- it was leaking. Luis was able to get a new tank delivered within 30 minutes and also had his colleague Jesse come by to help with the install. Both are licensed Plumbers. They were able to quickly finish the job helping me avoid OT charges. Their workmanship was excellent, the mechanical room appearance improved based on the quality of their work. Unfortunately one of Power Plumbing's suppliers sent over a defective unit. Jesse quickly returned to our home, obtained the necessary parts and we have hot water again. In an "emergency" situation you never know if you are getting a fair price. I will say, though, that without question Power Plumbing has nice guys working for them and their craftsmanship is excellent. I would definitely recommend calling Power Plumbing for your next plumbing job.

Scott did a great job and explained what he was doing every step of the way. I appreciated that he tried the less expensive fix first. Now our shower is good as new, with complete temperature control.

He is efficient and always on time. He is very respectful and meticulous about cleaning up. He called to let me know when he was coming. He explains everything he does. He has a full schedule for the day. He called and rearranged his schedule so he could get the work done for me. He was very accommodating and took it all in stride. He will be doing more work for me.

Work was perfect, service person, Mike, took pride in his work which was done perfectly and left the place as clean as it was before he arrived. When in the residence he put covers over his feet, used drop cloths and took good care of everything. Second time I have used Power and each time was very good.

I called on Monday and got an appointment first thing on Tuesday morning. Mike called to let us know he was on his way at 7:30 and arrived promptly 10 minutes later. He was courteous, professional and informative. He attempted to rod the upstairs tub drain first, but due to an old drain system was unable to complete the rodding so he came down to the kitchen. After about half an hour, he had pulled the clog out and had the water draining in all faucets with no problems. He was here for 2 hours and was sure to keep his work area clean and picked up after he left.

Saturday afternoon a pipe in the ground floor bathroom broke. I called Power Plumbers who have done work for us one other time. The person answering the phone took my information and explained that the plumbers were backlogged with work due to the extreme temperatures. The person promised that a plumber would call to set up a time to fix the broken pipe. Within minutes the plumber called he asked several questions, explained that it would be several hours before he could get to my broken pipe due to the long list ahead of me. He also explaine that since it was a weekend the price would be doubled. During the rest of the day and evening, the plumber called me to let me know that they were still planning to get to my broken pipe that evening or night. At 11:00 pm Saturday night, he called as asked if he could come an fix the pipe. The man sounded exhausted and admitted that he and his partner had been working for over 24 hours straight! I suggested that he go home and get some rest if he would promise to put me at the head of the list for Sunday morning. Sunday at 9:00 am, the plumber called and asked if it would be convienent for him to come to fix the broken pipe. He and his partner showed up promptly. They were very polite, pleasant, and informative, despite the fact that they were obsiously exhausted. Bob and Gus asked permission to cut into the back of the vanity to get to the broken pipes. As they worked it became obvious that I had a larger problem than just a broken pipe. The plumbers showed me and explained in great detail the extent of the problem facing me. Some genious installed the ground floor plumbing up against the outside brick wall. It was obvious from the piping that the pipes had burst on at least 5 other occasions. Before fixing the broken pipe. Bob and Gus discussed the problem with me and offered several solutions to permantly solve the plumbing problem in that bathroom. Without complete rennovation of the plumbing the burst pipes would continue to happen over time. Together we weighed to pro's and cons of the various ways to fixing the problem and came to a mutual agreement. Per my request, they discussed the situation with my husband over the phone in great detail so he would understand what was going on since he was out of town. Bob and Gus temporality fixed the the broken pipe by taking the much mended pipe out and capping of the pipe feeding the ground floor bathroom. The bathroom would be out of commission until the rennovation but we would still have water to all other areas of the house. They then wrote out a detail description of the planned rennovation and why each step was neccessay (for insurance purposes). An estimate was completed. Bob and Gus were both friendly and took pains to explain everything they could about the plumbing problem so I would understand completely before making decisions. They were outstanding!

I had an emergency with a plumbing stack that was clogged between floors of my building and so it would stink and my neighbor s was overflowing up between ours and above them the plumbers were great. They gave us advice over the phone at night and they came the next day. They were really good, fast, thorough, and informative.
