Everything went very well. He came in and assesed the problems, told me what needed fixing and how much it would cost before he did the work. He didn't try to oversell me on getting other things done. He was quick and professional. He we replaced my basket strainer in my sink. I had him replace the other one as well since it was a double sink and the other side would probably have the same problem eventually as well. However he let me make the decision and didn't oversell me on the need to have it done. He also replaced a part in the toilet tank. He also answered all of my questions.

I called several plumbers to address a problem with downspouts. I was considering routing them to the backyard catch basin. I called Power Plumbing based on their Angies List recommendation. I think people should be aware of what happened. About 2 weeks after calling for an estimate I got several calls to my cell from Patrick who would randomly call and say that he was on his way over. This would be in the middle of the day (I'm not there) and without prior agreement. I didn't know who he was or why he was calling- did not identify himself. I called back- and told him that we were working with someone else. More than 40 days later, I received an email proposal from Power Plumbing that described: "We will rod and camera sewer to locate defect in pipe. We will excavate to 6? sewer approximately 5-6 feet deep and remove approximately 4 feet of piping". For downspouts??? The proposal was for >$2,000. Without a single authorized visit to my property or a single conversation and after I informed them that someone else was doing the job. This struck me as highly unethical and plain weird. If you are considering a plumber, I just think you should be aware of the strange practices of Power Plumbing.

We replaced an old high flow toilet with a newer low flow efficient toilet about 2 years ago. Our bathroom is oddly built so that the distance from the wall was not standard, and we had to order a custom toilet with a 10in. rough in. We did the install ourselves, and thought all was well. Forward 2 years and this AM we noticed a wet spot in the ceiling of our dining room. We quickly realized that the toilet must have been leaking so we called Power Plumbing and they got to the house in 2 hours on a Saturday. The plumber, Scott, fixed the leak, and explained what happened during the install to cause the leak. We would definitely use them again.

Great. First, Scott showed up on time. He took a look at a water damaged ceiling on my first floor and determined that the leak was probably coming from the toilet on the second floor. He pulled the toilet up and discovered that the wax seal failed. He replaced the wax seal with a properly fitted neoprene gasket. Very knowledgeable. Very professional. Left work site very clean.

Power Plumbing called early in the morning saying that they would be out later in the morning. They called before they came. They saw the problem and called the office. The office first suggested that we may have to replace the whole toilet. As our toilet is brand new, I was taken aback. Luckily, this was not needed, but I was surprised that the idea was suggeted even before the problem was seen.

They were fabulous. I had what I thought was a minor problem but it turned out to be a major problem. They could have taken advantage of the situation but they took a step back. They gave me written quotes every step of the way, and gave me contractor prices. It seemed like they were always there when I needed them, and they were on time. I would rate them highly and I will continue to use them.

They were very professional, conscientious, responsive and punctual. Their pricing was good as they gave me a 10% discount as I?m an Angieslist member. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

Our hot water heater started leaking one evening and I called Power Plumbing first thing in the morning. They gave me a detailed breakdown of the anticipated costs of parts, labor, and approximate amount of time the work would entail. Initially they said they couldn't get someone out until noon that same day, but 30 minutes later they called and said the guys were on their way and would arrive by 9:00. They were professional and corrected. The estimated costs were accurate and the work seemed properly completed. They explained their steps before they did it and followed through. I was happy with the service.

They did an okay job with the work, but I thought that they were on the expensive side. I was pleased that following the work they were willing to work with me on the price a little bit. The punctuality and responsiveness was great. They did leave a bit of a mess following the work, but I felt that they did the best that they could.

James was very professional: showed up on time and did the work very thoroughly. He cleaned up after the work was complete and made sure everything was working well before he left.

Got a call from my tenant in a rental condo unit, reporting that the bathtub was slow to drain. Checked Angie's List, found great reviews of Power Plumbing -- and their 10% coupon. Called and talked to Claudia. Gave her my tenant's name and number. She took it from there, and charged my credit card. Full-service. No hassle. Couldn't have been easier.

James was punctual and pleasant. Efficient and explained things as he went. We will definitely use the company again.

I've been using Power for 14 years and everytime they've come they've been ontime, professional, courteous, and very thorough. I've needed them to come out twice in the last two weeks, first for a leak under the kitchen sink and the second time for a poorly draining bathroom sink. The first visit was quick and efficient; James noticed the trap was rotted and replaced it quickly and cleaned up afterward. The second visit was more complicated. I had been having water back up into my bathroom sink, so the line had to be rodded. Jesse tried to rod from underneath my sink, but couldn't find the obstruction. We had to go into my neighbor's unit and rod the line from their side. Jesse was very sensitive to my neighbor's unit, even putting on booties. He found the clog quickly from their side and rodded the line out, and completely cleaned out their under-sink cabinet once he was through. After he got back into my unit, he noticed my trap was also rotting so replaced that, and thoroughly cleaned underneath my sink afterwards. I've worked with many of Power's servicemen in the past, and, just like James and Jesse in these examples, they've all taken the time to explain the work that will need to be done in detail, but not at all in a condescending manner, and have always been kind and friendly. I've had some very large, complex work done by them in the past, and for both those larger projects and these smaller jobs they always do a great job. I will never use any company other than Power!

It was a one day job. He was clean, nice and punctual.

The guy was knowledgeable and helpful. My overall experience was good.

They did a very good job. I was very happy with the plumber who came out. He was very, very professional and knew what he was doing. He solved my problems as well as could be expected. The price was fair but more than what I would have liked.

1) Two years ago they replaced our water heater. It was an emergency and they came out immediately and did a good job. Pricey but straight A's. 2) They also replaced a toilet and did a good job with that. 3) Based on those experiences I called them again early this year to fix a drippy shower head. The plumber spent an hour and a half, much of it removing a "stripped screw". His fix somehow reversed hot and cold. At this point our grade for them is high. They are expensive but everything they'd done seems to be working well. 4) A couple of weeks ago we had a leak in an upstairs sink. The plumber came out and fixed it. Three days later the leak was back. The plumber said that the valve was the issue and had to replaced. So why did he did not replace it the first time out? Or make it clearer, on the first call, that his fix was a percentage play, that we might have to pay for another, more expensive call, which would mean the first call was a waste of our money. My gut is they look for ways to drag out appointments, like with the "stubborn screw" in the shower handle. Last week the shower dripping started again. We called a different plumber who was in and out in a half hour, replaced the cartridges in both shower heads. Now everything is working fine. The cartridges he replaced were old, so the guy from Power had replaced the cartridge. Why not? It was apparently a no-brainer, and the sure fix. So evidently he spent his time wrestling with a screw and not really fixing anything. Indeed we had to call a plumber, but this time it was not Power, nor will it ever be again. Rae from Power Plumbing was gracious about my issues and went over each one with me and explained their position. Her family has had the business for many years and she is deeply concerned about its reputation. She refunded the cost of the work which I had issues with.

This was a very unpleasant experience for me. My husband was at work, so it was just me and my toddler-age son at home when the guy arrived. He had an attitude the minute he walked in the door, like he just doesn't like dealing with women. I tried to be polite and hospitable, but he treated me like I was an incompetent fool. Whenever I would ask questions, he would respond with either sarcasm or outright insults (e.g., "You obviously don't understand anything about plumbing."). When I called my husband to explain our options for fixing the sump pump, the guy rolled his eyes and said, "Let me talk to him. You don't know what you're talking about." He was probably right--I'm sure I was getting it wrong. But there is a polite way to handle that situation, and this guy was just an a**. The cherry on top? He told me (while he was writing up the bill) that my son was spoiled. W**???! No service person should EVER voice such thoughts to a CLIENT! It was almost like I was on some sort of candid camera show. This may have just been a rogue employee who doesn't reflect the true nature of the company, but my experience was so bad that I will not hire Power Plumbing ever again. (Added 7/31/09) A few days after I submitted this report the business owner contacted me with a sincere apology. He is now taking action to address the employee's behavior.

It was a difficult job, but Power managed to overcome the hurdles they encountered. Also, they called in the job supervisor to oversee when difficulties were encountered.

They are professional, thorough and careful. I would definitely use them again.

Scott has come out to do the various jobs. He has been great...knows what he is doing, and is a very pleasant guy to have around doing your work. He is patient, informative, and very helpful. Their receptionist is also incredibly helpful and worked with us on several occasions to accommodate our needs.

Bathroom sink was draining very very slowly. I had snaked the trap myself with no success, so I called first thing in the morning and made an appt. They were very friendly, and said the plumber would be there between 7:30am and 12pm. Since I don't live in the condo, they said they would call 30 minutes before so I could meet the plumber there. They called at 11:30am, and Scott showed up right around noon. He was very friendly, and explained everything he was doing as he worked. As I suspected, the problem was not in the trap, but in the waste pipe in the wall. He took the trap apart and rodded to the stack, which solved the problem.

They are really good at what they do. They are professional, responsive and the quality of their work is good. Their price is on the expensive side. They communicate very well and have good customer service skills.

They were fine and did a good job. They over charged us - for parts that were not used and extra hour labor for the two guys who came out. So we called them back and she gladly redid the bill. That was the only complaint. They were on time.

Pleasant on the phone and came over within hours. Plumber figured out the issues and cleaned the blockage quickly. Even helped out on another plumbing issue in the remaining time in his hour minimum.
