They did a quality job. They found out that there was filth and rocks around the sump pump which prevented it from working. So, they fixed the problem very well. They could have told me that I needed a new sump pump, but they didn't do so. They provided quite a good solution in the end. The only criticism that I have is that they charged me for the transit time. Since it was pretty expensive, they were going to charge me about $130 for transit time. I negotiated in the end for half an hour of transit time.

They were very responsive and helpful, answering all our questions when we called during off-hours because we had a leak in the basement. They explained which parts the city should take care of and which parts we needed to hire someone to fix. The only confusion was when they left mid-job to pick up needed tools without explaining that we were still being billed for labor during that time. The price above was after a 10% labor discount.

Plumber was knowledgeable; well prepared - inventory was on truck. Offered useful advice for preventative care.

They were available when we needed them. They were expensive but there work was good. I got some estimated for the work from other plumber and I probably paid 500 dollars too much, but, they were available when I needed them so it was worth it. They did fail to show up one time when we had appointment, but, other than that everything else went fine. I have actually recommended them to other people.

I have used them several times and they have done some work a couple of times this year. I will grade them high on all categories.

They showed up when they said they would show up and gave me an estimate. They were professional and responsive. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

The men were very professional, came on time and worked nicely together. At the end of the project, they even helped by patching a hole in the wall which they had necessarily made. My concern was that I was paying two men plumber prices ($250 an hour) to repair a hole. Any handyman could have done the trick for under $50.

From the estimate, to the digging, to the clean up, this company did not disappoint. We were never without water for more than an hour or so throughout the entire job, which extended over several days due to rainy weather. It surprised me when the plumber came out on a Saturday to complete the job. While painful to the wallet, I am willing to take the dollars hit if the service and work is an equal hit. PowerPlumbing lived up to all the fine reports I read on Angie's List and I am happy to add a good word.

They definitely deserve an A for everything. We have received excellent service from them. We will continue to use them in the future.

Our basement and eventually house was smelling of sewer gas for a few weeks, especially when it rained. Also, a toilet in the basement ran continuously. I called Power Plumbing to discuss our problems and try to arrange a free estimate for the sewer odor issue. I was informed that work would need to be done to find out the cause of the odor and that would be on the clock. So I decided to go ahead and make an appointment...which happened to be only an hour after my phone call to the business. The solution to both problems - the sewer gas smell and the leaky toilet - were both simple. One more so than the other. The service person discovered that our sump pump had somehow become unplugged and our back-up battery had since ran out of power. So he plugged in the pump and it instantly started pumping all that had been accumulating in the pit since the back-up power ran out. The smell was then horrendous. So while the pump emptied the pits contents into the city sewer, the service person went and replaced the rubber stopper inside the toilet tank to stop the tank from leaking into the toilet bowl. Then he went back to the sump pump hole lid and used caulk to seal all possible air holes that would allow sewer gas to escape. Ever since the pump was plugged back in (laugh all you want, at our expense) and the lid sealed, we have not had the sewer gas odors in the basement or house. The toilet does not run anymore and we look forward to a cheaper water bill in two months.

They are very professional and friendly and are always great to work with. I've recommend them to friends and colleagues without concern.

All and all they are a good choice; we really like them.

They came early, and the quality of their work was good. Their price was reasonable.

The person on the phone was able to understand and explain the issue and was very helpful. I just wished that they would have been able to correct the problem with a $10 part like I as instead of a $1500.00 estimate that I received.

Gus and his partner (I think his name was Jim) were outstanding! They quickly identified the problem and provided immediate cost estimates to get the work done. Also, the company re-arranged their day's schedule on a short notice to take care of this issue! Ray in the office was polite and knew the urgency and went the extra mile to help a new customer. Power Plumbing and Sewer Contractors will now be our building contract plumber and I will recommend them to my friends and coworkers. Just can't say enough about this firm!

The overall project went well. The guy that they sent was prompt and clean. He was very professional and helpful with assessing what work we could do and what work he would need to do. During the assessment he taught me about plumbing in my own home. He taught me why it worked, why things were clogging, what I could do about it myself, etc. I will call them back out in the future.

It was a little touch and go at first, I live in an older Chicago house that has pot traps for most of the plumbing, my normal handyman that passed away never had a problem clearing these out. Well I guess the new school plumbers are told they should not work on them. Mike wanted to cut the pipe clear it and re splice the pipe I was not crazy about the idea but I said okay. He came the next day with another mike and the other mike was not afraid of the trap and he went into it and cleared the clogged almost instantly. The lesson learned is if you are in an older house ask about the traps and if they will clear them. They were very professional and if you have newer plumbing call them if it is older ask first.

Well, their responsiveness was excellent and they showed up in 45 minutes. The were friendly, professional, and appeared very knowledgeable. The repair required a return visit and they even showed up a day earlier than anticipated. The repair was completed and done very well. Now, while the work was done very thoroughly and professionally, when I received the bill I couldn't believe it. They were not twice the cost as my other plumber, but about three times!! While I would love to use them, I cannot and will not in the future because it was almost highway robbery. I was prepared for them being a bit more expensive but this was ridiculous. If you hire them be prepared for the bill is all I can say.

They showed me everything; they showed how they did the job. They covered it up; they patched up everything. They were meticulous in performing their job. It was a big job. They were very good. They fixed the tub drain that was clogged. They also fixed the piping underneath the bathroom sink for proper flow of water. They were very helpful and prompt. They called my tenant first instead of me dealing with my tenant. Later on, they coordinated with my tenant and then sent me the bill. They didn?t even request for payment on site. So, it was very convenient for someone who is a landlord.

They are very professional. I will use them again in the future.

I would give them high marks for price and scheduling. They did forget to turn the gas back on, but came out to fix it right away. The office staff is quite friendly and accomodating. Didn't try to sell me stuff that I didn't need.

The plumbing and sewer contractor came out and did the job. They were fairly efficient. I could not have done it any better. Their overall service was pretty good.

The experience of the technician was great and they did not stop till they finished the work. There was some problem with the pipe, but, they worked with me and got the pipe adequately replaced.
