I awoke this morning to discover my hot water heater was leaking all over my basement. I called Power Plumbing to see if they could send someone out. The woman who answered the phone asked me a few questions about my existing heater - capacity / BTU Input - and from that gave me a rough idea of what it would cost (heater, installation materials / price per man hour with and without the Angie's List discount. I said that this was acceptable - she said she would check her schedule to see if she could get someone out. About two hours later she told me that someone could be there in 1/2 hour. The plumber show showed up - Levon? Levan? - removed the existing tank - installed a brand new tank - patiently listened to my annoying questions all in under two hours. I couldn't imagine how this whole thing could have went smoother. Best of all, I believe the total cost was about $200 under the estimated range of cost I was quoted - undoubtedly due to skill and efficiency of the plumber that was dispatched. So A+ all the way. I would definitely recommend this company based on my experience.

I received an estimate from Power shortly after the visit but I decided not to use their services.

I called Power Plumbing on Monday and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. Mike B arrived to check the sewer smell that was coming into our basement, as well as check for a gas leak from the dryer. He tightened the connections for all the pipes that were part of the gas pipe and tripled checked the gas leak. In addition, he sealed the ejector pump lid, which has ceased the smell.

Very knowledgeable, answered questions and rechecked work two times to ensure everything was okay.

Both the 2 plumbers who removed our old hot water heater and put in the new one, and the plumber working on our kitchen, did an excellent job. They arrived on time, did the work well and without delay. We will definitely call Power Plumbing again for all our plumbing needs.

They were amazing. They found out from where the water was leaking and no one else could find that out. I think the price was reasonable. We didn?t get any other estimates to compare the price to. I would use their services again in the future.

I talked to Mike and explain about the symptoms of the problem. He did explain that since it was not the normal hours that the charge would be double than normal. I agreed to the terms and Mike with John were over within an hour. Both men were very helpful and professional. They check the basin and then the bathroom leaks and were able to determine where the problem laid. They needed to rod the drain leading from the bathroom. My home is very old and unfortunately the clean-out value was no longer functioning. They had to remove the toilet and started to rod the pipes from there. This took about 2 hours (which Mike estimated it to be). Well I learned that flushable baby wipes are NOT flushable (Take note, don't flush these down the toilet). They pulled out about a half-a-bag of flushable wipes out going 50 feet in. They gave me advice on what to do next and what services I should get during regular hours. John also recommend a new toilet technology which could help with our special-needs son. That was really nice of him. These guys are real professional and got the job done.

They were very responsive, professional and polite. I would definitely recommend them!

I'll be recommending Power Plumbing to friends and family. I even put their number in my phone so I have it if/when I have a plumbing emergency.

Excellent experience! The 2 Mikes were the dynamic duo of plumbing. Work was done quickly. professionally and efficiently, quotes were all right on with actual costs. Both were very personable and explained things well every step of the way. Will use Power Plumbing again and will specifically ask for these two plumbers.

I called Power Plumbing to get an estimate on replacing my old water heater. One thing I didn't like is that they would not give me a hard estimate (just a ballpark), nor would they come out to see my situation first-hand. The lady did explicitly detail the charges to expect however (cost of tank, labor, etc). I therefore scheduled them to come out and do the work. The two Mikes came out right at the scheduled time and were very pleasant and professional. They did an excellent job of removing my old tank, fixing up the associated plumbing mess I had, and installing the new 50 gal. Bradford White tank. They also disassembled and greased my drain flap into the catch basin as a courtesy. I also asked them to remove another old water heater that was disconnected years earlier, but never disposed of. They did that no problem. They swept and tidied up after themselves as well. The only gripe I had is that I didn't/couldn't get an exact estimate prior to the maintenance. The final cost came in slightly higher than the range I was quoted on the phone, but I was expecting that due to the age of my pipes (house is 80+ years old). With my other estimates, I believe the Power Plumbing was more expensive the others, but I was willing to pay that for the comfort of using a reputable company. Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely give them a holler to get an estimate if I need more work done.

The need for emergency plumbing services is hardly pleasant but Power Plumbing made it as pleasant as possible. Mike arrived within an hour on a Sunday of a holiday weekend. We were so impressed we made another appointment for some other work. The responsiveness and professionalism of everyone at Power was terrific.

These guys are just the best, period. Whenever my wife and I have a plumbing issue, we debate "do we look for a cheap solution or do we call Power?". They're not the cheapest, but they are the best. In this situation I started by going through our Home Warranty company. The Home Warranty company referred me to two different companies both rated "F" on Angie's List. When the Home Warranty company refused to refer me to a more highly rated contractor, I hung up the phone and called Power. They were out within an hour and finished the job. I love these guys--they're just the best.

Extremely professional, polite, and hardworking. This was the best experience I've had with a plumber. Where plumbing is concerned, quality work is never inexpensive. That said, I found their rates to be quite appropriate for the amount of work that was completed.

After years of smelling sewer gas and having other plumbers look into it, I called Power Plumbing. Even the women on the phone knew what I was talking about and were very helpful. They sent Mike and Mike out - great guys - and after just a few hours they were able to identify the source of the problem and recommend a solution. Not only was the problem much simpler than I was led to believe by others, it was much simpler to correct as well. I was expecting to be breaking into walls, repairing my sewer stack - who knows - and they figured out the problem and fixed it with much less financial stress. They even recommended a tiler to come out to re-lay the tile they had to pull up. I will be using these guys from now on!!

I took Power Plumbing because they were on Angie's A list. The person came and the problem that I had was that I had a leak from upstairs toilet into my ceiling. The leak has been repaired before but it came back. The person who came back checked my ceiling and diagnosed the problem as being that I had off-set toilet and he said that the only way to fix that would be for me to add some wood to hold the floor to hold the toilet to and he said he couldn’t because the floor was wet and there was foundational joists in the way. So he said he only way we could fix it was for us to go and get new toilets that fit the rough in and then he would cut out all the pipes and install the joists directly in the stack. I was not satisfied with that answer because there must be another way to handle it and this guy was trying to bring in new toilets because buying new toilets in our house implied buying four new toilets instead of two because you can’t very well have two 12 inch toilets and two 10 inch toilets. So I took my time to research this before I met up with another answer and while I was doing this the fellow didn't really call me back and he didn't seem to be in a hurry to call me back and we were moving into the weekend and he was leaving me with he was leaving me with holes in the ceiling and two unusable toilets. I told the fellow what I had found the way to fix it and I wanted it fixed this way and I want to redo the off-set. He said he would call me back. I decided this was taking so long that I am going to get another plumber. When the guy did call me back he didn’t seem to be in a hurry at all so I was very upset. When he left he charged me $391 and that part of the money wasn’t even going to apply to the repair and I wasn't even sure that I was going to get it fixed the way I wanted to. When the other plumbing person came, and when I told him I wanted it fixed this way, that person not only understood what I was saying, but he had his own ideas about how to fix it and he had a whole lot of parts to try not just the part I could adjust it. He fixed and he exactly knew the way this fellow said it couldn’t be fixed. He charged me a whole lot of money and I had already spent $1500 in basically. I should have said to the second person, now you’ve done half the labor because somebody else already did labor, but I didn’t say it at the time. The big difference was that person told me how much it was going to cost upfront . I had no idea that, when he cut holes in my ceiling it was going to cost me that much. And that it was going to leave me with my toilets not fixed and that I was going to have to use my time to tell the first person I paid to fix the problem. So I disputed it with American Express and then I called them and I told Power that I disputed it with American Express. I wanted to give them ample opportunity to rectify the situation and they didn't end up doing anything. There was a problem with the estimate as they didn't even give me an estimate and they just started doing it. They didn't do anything. The first day they were fine, but after that they never turned up. I would definitely not use them in the future.

Plumber came out when promised for a stopped bathroom sink, and worked efficiently and neatly. He informed us that the drain trap in the same sink was leaking, and replaced it with a part he had in his truck. My only reservation relates to a previous call for a different problem, at which time the plumber could not find our home and came very late. We did not have that work completed at the time, so there is no complete report to go with the experience.

Honestly, it was great. Good experience booking appointment on the phone. This was not an urgent matter, I was simply being proactive in replacing my 14 year old water heater before there was a problem. However, they got someone over on a Saturday. John was very pleasant, got the job done, explained things a long the way and shared some tips and useful information.

I called them and told them Iwas an angie's list member. after I explained the problem, the telephone person said I needed a two person crew, but he had none available until Monday (it was a Friday). I said I could not wait that long, because we couldn't flush the toilets. He said maybe they could do it on an "emergency" basis which is after business hours and costs twice the price. I agreed to this and was skeptical when he said he'd try to get me help as soon as possible, because I was sure that I was going to pay the double price. But they got to me during business hours. Further, They were pleasant, polite and competent in addition to honest.

I was very pleased with the service and the results. Power Plumbing was there on time, did the job quickly and efficiently and I was happy with the results.

I called Power to set up the appointment. The receptionist was very friendly in helping me to set up the appointment. When she asked me how I heard of Power, I mentioned Angie's List. She then told me about the discount and gave me a price quote ($130.50 for the first hour, plus parts). I thought this was very reasonable, as other places were charging a lot more and not even mentioning the discount after telling them about Angie's List. The plumber, John, showed up and immediately began to work on the problem. John was very friendly during the entire appointment and explained everything that needed to be done and how he would fix it. After attempting to loosen the nut with the wrench and being unable to loosen it, he used a saw to cut the nut off. He then replaced and sealed the basket strainer. After replacing the strainer, John tested the new seal/strainer out and found it working properly. He told me to leave the strainer alone for 6 hours and that it would be perfect. Further, I was told that if anything went wrong with it within one year that it would be fixed at no cost to us. John left the area very clean--even taking his shoes off. We were very pleased with Power and would definitely use them again.

They were reasonably priced, very good at their work, very detail-oriented. The guy was prompt in getting here and contacting me. They were very knowledgeable about what they were there to do.

I have never had any issues with Power. There staff is very responsive even when I have had emergencies. I feel their rates are very fair. I have absolutely no complaints and will continue to use them.

After noticing some standing water underneath my kitchen sink, I started feeling around the pipe for the source of a leak, and pressed right through the side of the metal pipe, leaving about a two inch wide hole. Having successfully used Power Plumbing to repair a clogged toilet a few years ago, I called them at 10AM to see if they could send someone out to repair it the same day. The very friendly dispatcher Rae advised that she couldn't promise a same-day visit, but that they would try and if not would definitely have someone out the next morning at the latest. Around 12:30PM, Rae called to let me know her guy was on his way. The plumber arrived within about 30 minutes, assessed the situation and quickly replaced the damaged piping. He also advised that the section of PVC piping there was not to code (per Evanston guidelines) and replaced that as well. He was done with the entire job in about half an hour, offered me the 10% discount without me having to mention it and left some general plumbing 101 information. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish.

It was good. They were very professional and I would highly recommend them.
