At the end of the day, this was not an inexpensive project, but I am confident we linked up with the right people. We got what we paid for, and we will definitely be putting Power on our short list of trusted plumbers going forward.
Description of Work: Our condo association called Power based on positive reviews from Angie's List after we had several drain backups on both sides of our 3 by 2 vintage building. We knew something was wrong, but needed their advice and expertise. When I called, the owner probed me a bit about the problems and scheduled an appointment for the following day. The plumbers arrived on time, and were an absolute pleasure to work with. They had no problems explaining to me what was going on and showing me their process. When they opened our main drain, they found that a previous plumber had abandoned about 75 feet of rod down there several years ago, which had deteriorated and broke into several pieces. After showing me on camera what they found, they offered various solutions and a recommendation. They were very sensitive to the cost and continued to communicate through the whole process. They were honest, creative, and most importantly, they solved our problem by cleaning up what sure seemed to be a huge mess.

John was very professional and walked me through all of the issues with our bathroom tub. It wasn't draining properly or keeping the water stopped for baths. The stopper was screwed in and I didn't want to risk damaging the drain further. He also gave me the tip to puchase the "zip" tool at the hardware store in case of future drain plugs as well as the obvious drain screen. He also looked at my faucets to see if he could increase the water flow. He also recommended a local faucet store if I needed one in the future. I would use Power Plumbing again because of the professionalism.

Excellent response with a clear description of the cost. Kept the appointment time with a call to both me and the tenant to let us know they were on their way. Called after work was completed with a full description of the problem and how it was fixed. From the initial emergency call at 11:30 at night to the time they came and fixed the problem was less than 12 hours. That is pretty amazing.

My sink was stuffed up. They had to get through to the vertical waste pipe. It took him about 35 to 40 minutes. He was very helpful and very good. They were very expensive. But I knew that one when I was getting them. I was very suddenly unable to use my sink, I was trying to locate who it was that I had used before, so I knew that I had seen them on Angies List, I searched on Angies List first and did locate them again. I confirmed that it was the same company, called them up, and they came out the next day. They were on time, cleared it up, consulted on a few other possible projects coming up and left. He was clean and that is why I use Power Plumbing. Price wise generally someone is more expensive but you do get what you pay for. I did notice that they had pretty good ratings on Angies List to confirm that. I would use them in the future.

The guys from Power Plumbing were great to work with. They showed up the same day I called back in October when I first noticed the leak. They walked me through the exact extent of the problem with the drainage pipe and were very clear about the amount of work that needed to be done. When the returned 2wks later (per my schedule) to take down a two day job, we ran into our first glitch - the main water shutoff valves in the house were no longer functioning. After explaining what to me what I needed to do to get the city to shutoff the water from the outside, they quickly determined the best course of action to at least get the 2nd floor kitchen back to functioning (I have renters and needed their kitchen back up and working). They were able to accomplish those repairs to my specifications within the 1st day, leaving us to wait for the city to find my external shutoff switch. A month later, after the city finally showed up, I was able to get an appointment for the day/time I wanted in order to complete the repairs. After a quick review where they left off, they were able to get the rest of the work wrapped up within a day. I found them very open to my questions as to how the work would be done and why certain things (like the main junction between the drainage pipe and the sewer) needed to be fixed. Overall, I would be happy to have them do any future plumbing work on my house.
Description of Work: Fixed a damaged kitchen drain pipe from the 2nd floor. Re-vented and refitted the 1st floor kitchen drain. Replaced the main drain/sewer junction with one up to code. Added main water shutoff valves to replace non-functioning existing shutoff.

they were a pleasure to deal with. we got 4 bids from Angie's List top rated plumbers. Not only was Power Plumbing the least expensive, they included more services with their bid - it matched up exactly to the services we wanted, without nickel and diming us. patrick was great to work with pre-sale and post-sale. started work within a week of me letting them know they got the job. great experience all around.
Description of Work: The main sewer line from our house was sheared off at foundation wall. they dug up the broken pipe, removed and replaced with a new cast iron pipe. also installed a rodding station.

Just prior to Thanksgiving my kitchen sink/disposal backed-up and needed to have the line rodded. John showed up Friday morning as agreed on time and quickly assessed the situation, conveyed what needed to be done and went about completing. In just two hours, my sink was draining properly and John provided me much needed advice on ensuring that it doesn't happen again. He was professional and timely in getting line rodded. I would definitely use Power Plumbing again and would ask for John. -Eric

John Morzy is my new plumber!! John was pleasant and nice and took off his shoes when he entered my place. I proceeded to show him all of my issues; he explained exactly what he was doing, exactly what the problem was, exactly how to prevent the problem in the future, and told me how to identify when I would know that I would need to call a plumber in the future. I own a duplex down, built in 2004. The builder used basic, inexpensive faucets. John asked whether I liked the faucets and whether I would ever consider changing them. Of course, I've already been up and down the halls of home supply stores several times. John told me exactly what type of piping I had behind the walls and the size of my faucet spreads which will enable me to choose the proper faucets for my home. I definitely appreciated all of his guidance, and he addressed all of my issues and made several recommendations all within one hour. I would definitely recommend him.
Description of Work: My toilet flapper was replaced and toilet was sealed to the floor; master bath sink drain was cleaned; elevated dishwasher hose to prevent water backup; tightened kitchen faucet to prevent leaking; provided recommendation for a silent check for my loud ejector pump; explained faucet system size and recommended replacement brands.

We live in a 6 yr. old garden unit. We called them out because there was gray water backing up into the sink and dishwasher with a putrid smell emanating from that area. They came out and cleaned out our grease trap. The gentleman was very knowledgeable and very professional. Anyone who can clean out a grease trap with grace deserves credit! It was good for a couple of weeks and then, sadly, started again. So, we had them come out again to fix it - along with fixing a leak that had sprung under our powder room sink, a small leak from the sump pump check valve, and a partially clogged shower drain in the master bathroom. Mike B. and John were extremely efficient and helpful. They were cognizant that we were paying by the hour so they never stopped working, never wasted time. They explained the issues to us and how they were going to be fixed, as well as advice on how not to have pluming issues. To fix the primary problem, Mike B. tried the significantly less expensive option of flushing out the line. The other problems were also fixed. They even installed a new check valve on the sump pump to make it nearly silent. Now, there isn't a loud BANG! when the sump pump goes off. However, the backups began again almost immediately. So, we called them out again. This time, Mike B. took out the grease trap, which involved practically dismantling the cabinet and sink disposal under the sink, cutting a hole in the back of the cabinet, and rerouting the pipes under there. Problem solved! And, Mike took off an hour of labor ($135) because he had to come back!
Description of Work: Cleaned out grease trap under the kitchen sink; fixed a leakk under the sink in the powder room; fixed a leak in the sump pump check valve; unclogged a shower drain; and, flushed pipes in kitchen; and removed grease trap, rerouting pipes under the sink.

They were very courteous and helpful on the phone with me to start with. They were also able to get in within about two days to replace the broken spray nozzle on my sink as well as rod out clogged tub drains in the bathroom. The serviceman (who's name I now can't remember) was very talkative about preemptive measures to better the flow of my clogged drains. I find them a bit over-priced as compared to other plumber/plumbing service providers, especially frustrating as they arrived about thirty minutes or more later than projected due to a delayed service call earlier in the morning. Additionally, in looking at the serviceman's math on the reverse side of my receipt/service order I am not sure that my Angie's list discount was applied. Our drains remained unclogged for a good amount of time however that is not my problem with them. I encountered two problems with them. 1) The spray nozzle that they installed came with a cord that was the extremely stiff. Stiff to the point that you could barely maneuver it. Our repairman said that it would soften over time. It hasn't softened one bit. I should've purchased a higher end fixture with cord and not wasted the money on this generic thing they brought over and installed. And, he should've advised us to do so. Our spray nozzle is not useable as it is. and the biggest problem -- 2) They said that they could not improve our water pressure problem without basically pulling out all the plumbing and doing a partial demolish of our tile wall in our bathroom. They said that our tile was not installed to code and as a result he could not access the plumbing to fully inspect and repair the water pressure issue. This was obviously a big let down. Our neighbors used a different plumber for a similar problem and found out that all that was needed was a new cartridge behind the shower faucet fixture. We called this other plumber and sure enough, this was our problem too and it was fixed lickety split. So basically Power Plumbing misdiagnosed our problem and charged us $200 dollars for a non-functioning spray nozzle/cord and rodding out a bathtub. These problems combined with their lateness = an unsatisfied customer. We will not be using them again.
Description of Work: They replaced a broken kitchen sink spray nozzle and rodded out tub drains. They assessed problems with our hot water pressure in our lower level bathroom.

Wonderful ! Great ! Would definitely use Power Plumbing & Sewer Contractor again. This was my first experience with them. I called them because I had another plumbing company spend 3 days trying to clear a clogged pipe with 2 guys, no camera, and fair equipment. That company said they couldn't do anything to resolve. Suggested I find a company with a camera. I searched Angieslist and not only found a company with a camera, but with a company with a GREAT rating. Two guys, two hours, a camera, and talent, and my problem was resolved ! Thanks Mike & Jason. They were very-professional and very-polite. It was a pleasure doing business with them and Power Plumbing & Sewer Contractor. The $425 price is an approximate, but whatever the cost was, was well-worth it when compared to 2 guys, no camera, 3 days, and fair equipment. I would definitely use Power Plumbing & Sewer Contractor Inc. again

Plumbers arrived on time. Removing the old heater required two men, so while one prepped the old heater for removal the other worked on the silcock. Once the heater was removed the second plumber left, keeping labor charges to a minimum. Work was done beautifully. Nice to work with people who are conscientious. All work was explained in detail. Also, the guys couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend.

It was a great experience (after several bad experiences with other companies...Garrelt's & Sons). After viewing several companies on Angie's List and reading reviews, we called Power Plumbing. We will continue to use this company/Mike for anything plumbing related (and we have some more projects we will be calling them to come do). Both Mike B and Mike A are an asset to this company and I hope that my referral to others will bring them new customers.
Description of Work: We called because our kitchen faucet had stopped running. Mike B came out and looked at it and found that we had finally reached a point of needing to replace the water heater (it was 15 years old). While he was here, I had him look at a few other things and he gave me an estimate on our water heater, outside spigget replacement, and a toilet replacement. He was knowledgeable, professional, and gave tips to help us save some money; he earned my trust. He returned a few weeks later with the other Mike to replace the water heater. We asked about some other services and needs and they gave suggestions that didn't include dumping money with them; again, left me feeling as if they were here to do the best job for ME, not nickel and dime me! They were professional, clean, on-time, and efficient in their work. 2 months later we had a leak in the kitchen ceiling, something from upstairs. Panic! It was 5:30 on a Friday night and I called Mike's number; incredibly he answered! Told us to what to look for and what to do and saved us a service call on overtime. I was just amazed that on his own time, he was professional and helpful and courteous.

My tenants had called to let me know that their basement shower was incredibly slow in draining and my own bathtub was pretty much blocked as well. I had called another company on the 19th. They got back to me on the 20th saying nothing was available until the following. I found Power Plumbing on Angie's List and called them at about 9AM. They said they could have someone out before noon. By 11AM, someone was at my house and within the hour, both drains were completely unblocked and flowing. It was a rainy day and he was even so nice as to remove his shoes so as not to track any dirt or mud into the house! Additionally, he also notice a couple of other non-plumbing issues I had and gave me tips on how to fix them. He had to charge $25 for use of the air pump to unclog the drainks which I found odd but I'm happy that they were able to come out and get everything working so quickly.

They were able to squeeze me in the day after I called, I just had to be flexible on what time they would arrive, which was fine, I wanted someone out right away for the leaky toilet and I did not want to have to pay extra. The woman I talked to on the phone was knowledgable and up front about pricing. They do give an Angie's list discount on labor which is nice. But they charge from the time the employee drives past the house, so they charge for the time looking for parking, parking, unloading truck, driving to get parts, etc., which is probably why most people give them a B on pricing, but they told me up front and as long as they are honest and up front about it I can't complain. She quoted prices for the ejector pump ($450) and other materials. I had someone let the plumber in while I ran home from work. James called me to discuss the issues while I was on my way and we decided what to do, so that he was not just sitting around waiting for me (and billing me). I thought the 2 1/2 hours was reasonable for the work he did, and I thought he worked fast. James quickly diagnosed the ejector pump problem, broken switch, so we could replace the switch for $100 or replace the pump. We chose to replace the pump, its 8 years old and likely to go out soon. He showed me the new one he put in, which had a better switch, and explained the mechanics of it to me, good to know. The ejector pump works great, no problems like before. The toilet we suspected needed a new wax ring, it did, and he replaced it quickly. Overall job was clean and neat, a few drips as he took out the ejector pump, but a paper towel wiped it right up. When James was writing up the invoice he said the ejector pump was $600, I said I was quoted $450 over the phone, he called the office and they said to charge me $450, I did not even have to get on the phone with them. I was a little disappointed that he tried to charge me more than what I was clearly quoted over the phone, but I thought James and the office handled it very well, they said they would charge me what I was quoted. and they were very nice about it. I would advise everyone to get as much pricing info up front as possible, and the good news is this company sticks to what they quoted. I would use this company again, especially since they actually fixed the problem unlike the first company. Nothing worse than getting ripped off for incompetent repairs.
Description of Work: Replacement of ejector (sewer) pump in the basement and fixed a leaky toilet in the bathroom, turned out to be a leaky wax ring under the toilet. Labor was about 2 1/2 hours. The employee, James, was great, professional, knowledgable. He had the parts in his truck so there was no delay or charge for time going to get parts. Although they knew what the potential problems were when I called, so I would expect them to have the parts. Three weeks before we had another company (not on Angies List, charged the same hourly rate, and did not have parts in the truck so we paid for the time for him to drive to go get them) come out for the ejector pump, they said the check valve was broken, fixed it and charged us $300, but it ended up not fixing the problem. So we were out that money and wanted a reliable company to come out.

I had sewage backing up from an outdoor drain pipe on my property between the front of my house and the street. I had first contacted another company who had come out and tried to clear it with a power rod to no avail. That (other) company said the next step would be to try hydro jetting but they did not have the equipment and left me with no solution. By the time I called Power Plumbing, the problem was getting worse and I was getting really stressed out about it. They were very helpful from start to finish. My experience with everyone from Power Plumbing was good, from the office staff on the phone to the plumbers and excavators who came out. They were responsive to my sense of urgency and sent someone right away with both power rod and hydro jet equipment. They also had difficulty getting the blockage cleared but, unlike the people I had hired previously, Power Plumbing kept at it and did not give up, trying different things and re-analyzing the problem periodically. The hydro jet only partially cleared the problem and it turned out that I needed excavation and a section of sewer pipe replaced. Since the problem with the sewer pipe was close to the street, they set up a city inspection with their camera in case there were problems on the city side that needed to be taken care of. They called a few weeks after the job was completed to follow up and make sure everything was ok, so I felt like they really cared about making sure my problem was solved.
Description of Work: I had sewage backing up on my property and Power Plumbing solved this problem for me. They cleaned the sewer main under my house with power rod and hydro jet. They also excavated and replaced a section of sewer pipe where blockage was found that the power rod and camera could not get through.

John from Power Plumbing replaced 3 different parts in 3 different sinks in our home. Each one of these parts had to be ordered from the manufacturer due to some malfunction or another. John told me what to order on a previous visit and made one of the calls himself to order the defective part which was replaced free of charge. Following John s lead and now armed with the knowledge that my higher-end plumbing fixtures should not be failing at this point (again thanks to John) I made the remaining calls and was sent the other parts I needed free of charge, as well. I love this company. They have always been very knowledgeable and professional. The technicians take care to respect your home and the service is prompt. Most importantly, I have always felt Power Plumbing keeps the best interests of the client in mind - not always easy to find these days!
Description of Work: John from Power Plumbing replaced 3 different parts in three different sinks in our home. One of the parts was ordered by John on a previous visit and I ordered the remaining 2 parts with the information John provided on this earlier visit. The first part replaced was an extendable metal hose that was part of my kitchen faucet. The second was a new pop-up for an upstairs bathroom and the third where hot and cold valves on a wide-spread lav. faucet which included removing and then replacing the trim.

Called on Labor Day weekend because toilet stopped up. Mike from Power Plumbing called back right away but was very rude on the phone, and without seeing anything, said it was a major job I needed to have, $1,080 minimum cost since it was holiday weekend and double time and he needed to send 2 guys for cleaning out sewer line since it was heavy machinery. Refused to call my warranty company to get any authorization. Said he wouldn't leave office until I gave him the credit card number for $1,080 and it was my problem to figure out any costs. STAY AWAY from this group.

The experience could not have gone better. I called, asked if they could do it today. They said they would find a way and what time was best for me. They called me an hour before the appointment to tell me the plumber was going to be there and the entire project was completed in less than an hour. I have no reason to look for another plumber again in the future. I will gladly use Power Plumbing again.
Description of Work: I had a tennat call and tell me their kitchen sink was leaking and that there was no way to use the sink until the faucet was replaced. So, based on the strong reviews contained herein, I called and was able to set up a same day appointment. I met James at 3:00 and in less than an hour he had replaced the old faucet with a new one and ensured everything was perfect.
