I talked to Power Plumbing at 8:30 in the morning. They arrived at my house around 9:15am (a couple hours earlier than expected) and left a little after 12pm. The plumber was open to discussing my options and was generally communicative throughout the process.

The plumber was on time, very good and gave me a lot of advice about our plumbing in addition to the services provided.

We have used them for all our plumbing needs and never been disappointed. They are punctual, honest, and informative.

They did an ok job. They showed up on time and cleaned up after the repairs. They were helpful.

Our toilet was leaking & I noticed it was going into our basement as well. Called & the next day they were able to send someone out. James was our plumber & was excellent. He went straight to work & was done within 20 minutes. He also checked where I saw the water coming into our basement as well. Cut the drywall & inspected. All done within 1 hour & managed to get someone to us before the weekend. We would call again. Very professional service & I was very happy with Rae who took my call made sure we were taken care of. Great company & wonderful service. Thanks Power for your great timing & help.

My bathtub drain was severely clogged and despite a solid day of DIY efforts, I was unable to make any progress on fixing the issue. I called Power Plumbing on a Tuesday afternoon. They informed me thy did not have any openings in the schedule until the next day, and since this was not a true emergency, I was able to wait. Scott conducted the service call. He was nice to give me a tutorial during as he worked on unclogging the drain. He walked me through how the system was set-up and gave me some really helpful pointers for how to prevent the issue without using nasty chemical drain cleaners. He spent less than an hour fixing the problem. I highly recommend Power Plumbing - they do outstanding work!

We had a slow steady leak behind the wall in the ground floor unit of our condo that was leaking into our basement from the kitchen drain stack that connected three units. It was the result of a previous shoddy plumbing job by another company. Jason from Power Plumbing gave us a pretty reasonable quote and their foreman did the repairs. They finished the job hours earlier than they expected and reduced the quote accordingly. Very high quality work. We'll be happy to call Power Plumbing again.

In the past, I have looked them up on Angie's List. They are wonderful. It is a very homey kind of family company and when you have an emergency and they say that they are going to get somebody out there, they would get somebody out there. They are always very pleasant and very professional. If you tell them exactly what is going on before they come there, they would have the parts with them. It is one of the things where a repair does not end up being dragged out for a long time. They are really great and we have used them for 25 years because we have been happy with them.

Scott called first and arrived on time. He assessed the problem and had to take several steps to clear the drain. He was always pleasant and efficient. The office person was also very nice and had good advice.

I needed to get rid of a 50-year-old toilet - Power plumbing arrived promptly, cleaned it with no problems, everything has worked great since. I bought the toilet over the phone from Aqua Sulis, they coordinated with Power so he brought it with him. (The $295 was only labor, didn't include toilet cost.)

So, it was the coldest day in about 10? years and of course my laundry and garden unit pipes froze and burst. The women on the phone was very nice and professional, explained the situation of the amount of calls they have received because of the weather and still kept me on the list for repairs but was uncertain of the time frame for a plumber to come out and repair the pipes. well, she called back to confirm a time and was able to get a plumber to my building within those 30-45 minutes. the plumber was very professional and got to work right away. he identified the bursts and repaired and capped some pipes in the laundry room, then went to work in the garden unit's pipes. he started to repair but realized there were many more behind the wall and would require more time to repair. he suggested that i get them capped and call back when the cost was not going to be time and a half, i was very thankful that he could do that and thought of the time he had already spent at my place... which was close to 3 hrs! So, he capped the pipes to the kitchen sink and to the laundry room, all other pipes were defrosted and everyone had running water! yay! So, they didn't receive 5 stars responsiveness because i called back a day or two later to schedule the reconnecting of the my pipes for the kitchen sink and laundry room. again the nice women on the phone confirmed who i was and even identified the plumber that came out and said she would contact him and i would get a call back to get a quote and those pipes connected.... days passed and no call. So i called someone else who would call me back and come in that very day. Again, they did excellent work and were very professional, considerate, and provided great detail of the work on the invoice. I plan to call them again, since other plumbers i have used were not what i was expecting. thanks Power Plumbing! (just remember to call back).

We came home Thursday night at 11 pm and found that a pipe had burst in our basement utility room and water was streaming across the room and threatening to flood the furnished portion of the basement. A quick search on Angie's list led us to Power Plumbing. We called and spoke to the answering service. We got a call back within 5 minutes from Rae. She patiently coached us on how to turn off the water to the house to stop the flooding. She also explained that they (like all other plumbers in Chicago at the time) were taking appointments but couldn't guarantee when they would get to us in the next couple of days because the jobs list was so long. The next day, we called back at 5 pm to check in and they advised us that they could get someone there shortly if we were willing to pay time and a half. We agreed and Levon showed up at our doorstep by 7 p.m. There was a 2-hour minimum for plumbing services, but Levon diagnosed and fixed the problem within the minimum time period, including adding a new shut-off valve and a new drain spigot to head off the same problem with that particular pipe in the future. Levon had all the parts in his truck, he was neat and tidy in his work and left the space as clean as when he arrived. Levon was patient in explaining what he was doing and talking us through the steps we can follow in the future to try and avoid another burst pipe. I thought it was money well spent and very reasonable given the circumstances and our desire to have the problem fixed as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend this firm to anyone looking for good work and excellent service.

Power Plumbing saved us today! We had a laundry pipe freeze during the recent bitter cold spell in Chicago. During today's thaw, the pipe burst, shooting water directly into our basement. We shut off the water to the house and immediately called Power Plumbing, based on prior great experience with Power. The operator was very nice but she indicated that they were extremely backed up today, that the work would be done at time and a half because they were so slammed, and that she would do her best to get someone out today. Sure enough, at 6pm we got a call from Jeff that he was on his way. Jeff was extremely nice, courteous, and took the time to explain to us everything that had occurred. He did the work quickly and restored the work area to exactly the condition it was in before he arrived. While I'm not really thrilled with the cost, I completely understand Power's need to charge time-and-a-half during times of such extreme stress. Great Job by Power...they will continue to be our #1 choice in plumbing needs. I'm running a load of laundry right now, no problems.

Service was provided as informed it would be and at the price quoted. Had a leak in a two flat property in Chicago owned by my daughter and myself. I was in Florida and my daughter at the airport in Florida on the way home to Chicago when we got the report from out tenant that there was a serious leak problem. Contacted Power Plumbing based upon Angie's List. Got an answering service initially which was very helpful and then a return call from the Power service man within five minutes. Was informed that he had two prior job commitments and that we would be third in line and was informed of the approximate costs. I received a call from the service man when he completed his first job and another when he arrived at the second job giving me an approximate time each time. He then called after finishing the second job. He also called the tenant to keep her informed of his timeline. He called again when he had arrived at our property and gave a preliminary assessment. After about ten to fifteen minutes he called back to give his assement of what was needed to be done. Received a final call with the final results. The tenant who delt directly with him said he was very professional and friendly. My son in law, who is in the trades, said that when he and my daughter arrived home, they found the problem fixed and that the job was done very professionally and that he left the area very clean especially in light of the nature of the scope of the work involved, cutting drywall etc. The service man fixed our problem in a manner through communication which relieved the stress of dealing with the problem from 1,400 miles away. Would highly recomend this firm and especiall Levon the plumber.

Power Plumbing was easy to work with from the phone call to schedule the appointment to the plumber they sent to our house. Scott called before he came and arrived on time. Scott had installed our dual sump pump several years ago, so we were familiar with his work and very happy with the result. He is knowledgeable and approaches the job in a professional, calm manner (which we appreciate since we've had lots of plumbing issues and it is nice to get reassurance that it is not something to panic about). He diagnosed the problem and remedied the situation, while patiently explaining everything to me in detail. He even stopped to pet and say "hi" to our dog Buddy when he arrived.

Excellent experience working with Power Plumbing as always. Once the job was underway it went quickly and smoothly. New floor looks great and the basement is nice and dry even after very heavy rains.

We purchased a house where our old plumbing wasn't working correctly (the sink was backing up into the bathtub and the bathtub would not drain). We purchased our home from a flipper who did a Frankenstein-esque job on our pipes in the basement, several of which had leaks. I had contacted other plumbers and was not impressed with the way that they treated me or the amount of money they wanted in order to come and simply LOOK at our problems. I had given up on finding someone I considered to be an honest plumber when I called Power Plumbing... My mind is completely changed. I LOVE Power Plumbing. Dave came out and talked to me about what needed to be fixed, why it needed to be fixed and how. He allowed me to follow him around and he explained what was going on. He even drew pictures explaining how things worked. He told me we would have a quote in a week and he delivered on that promise and his quote came in less than the previous company I had dealt with. Dave was awesome. John came to fix our plumbing and it was clear that he not only took pride in his work, but that he loved the company he worked for. Our old plumbing gave John more work than I think any of us had expected and he worked diligently to get it done. He came by twice to get the work done and also helped me with a filter issue I was having on our sink in which he explained how I could order a replacement part for it free of charge and how to replace the part when I got it (he did say that if I couldn't get the part in myself, he would come back to do it for me, but his explanation allowed me to fix it myself with ease). John explained everything he did and showed me what he replaced. We have not had any problems in the 2 months since he came. He promised us though that if we did have problems, he would come back to fix it. John was a wonderful, kind person who did an amazing job. I really appreciate this company, so much so that when our boiler broke, I called them to see if that was something they could help us out with. Unfortunately, they couldn't, but referred me to someone who could. If you want someone to give you great service without the run-around, Power Plumbing would be my recommendation. I manage 4 buildings for clients and when there was an emergency that left all my tenants without water, these guys came out right away I called 6 companies and everyone was booked When I told Power Plumbing every tenant was complaining about no water and it was closing in on 5pm, they moved some appointments around for me and sent someone out with in the hour I will never use anyone else for my clients

I am very pleased with the work done! We had a leak from the toilet that was leaking into the basement. John explained what was causing the leak and fixed it immediately. I had other concerns with the two other toilets since they are old and were not working properly. He evaluated the situation and explained just why they were not working well. I've had work done by previous plumbers who have never explained just what was causing the problem. I'm curious, I want to know what's going on and why it's not working. Rae, the owner answers the phone calls. She evaluates the situation and promptly sets an appointment that will work with your schedule ( this has never occurred in the past...I've always had to take off work to be home) to accommodate YOU! I recommend Power Plumbing...oh and by the way...he was slightly running late ( 15 min ) he called and let me know. Kudos!!

The service provider agreed that they damaged my sidewalk. So they said they will send their crew back to come and clean it up. i've called them serveral times and they are not respondeding to my phone calls.

If you have an 80+ year old plumbing and sewage system that needs to be completely replaced, Power Plumbing is the company to call. After buying our house, we discovered that the old brick catch basin next to the patio was functioning as a vintage septic tank of sorts. A clay pipe connected the toilet stack pipe to the catch basin. The two drains in the basement floor and the utility sink were connected to the toilet stack, and the line from the kitchen was connected to the catch basin. Everything drained slowly. We were definitely on borrowed time. So we started to save our money and did our best to keep the old lines clear. Then one day a large load of laundry caused sludge to come up through the drain in the basement floor. We had the lines rodded and flushed and investigated. The clay pipe connecting the toilet stack to the catch basin was cracked and collapsing. The catch basin was leaking and the sludge was too thick to make it's way to the street. We called several companies and had a couple come out and bid on our job. Power Plumbing was not the least expensive, but it was clear from the start that they were the most competent. Their proposal made good sense. Any questions were answered in a kind and timely manner. The part of the project that took the longest was waiting for the required permit. Once we got that, the job was scheduled and the teams arrived like clockwork. Mind you, having the basement of your home completely opened up could be very stressful. But I wasn't stressed. In fact I was happy. Everything was handled. No surprises. The cement was broken in a very orderly fashion, the old clay pipes and wet dirt were hauled up the stairs and removed from the site. The new pipes were installed. The trenches were filled in and new cement poured. There was dust, of course, but no other mess. Tight. Solid. Now our home is better than new. We couldn't be happier. Power Plumbing handled everything professionally and efficiently. A pleasure to work with. Five stars all the way.

After the first visit to evaluate the problems, there was a delay in coming back to me and I had to call several times to schedule the 2nd visit. Apart from that, I was very satisfied with the service performed. Very courteous and explained the nature of the problem with the toilets.

Got there on time. Analyzed the problem. Explained the situation with old plumbing, current problem, and potential future issues. worked well with renters schedule.

I scheduled an appointment for someone from Power to come and give me a quote on having a water main, under my house, fixed. Patrick made an appointment to be at my house at 9am called at 10 to say he was running late and finally got to my house around 10:30-11. Normally I would have sent him on his way, but the city of Chicago was at my house trying to figure out what the issues were with my water line (I'm currently being told that I and my husband are using 40,000 gallons of water every 2 months), and I thought, "Great! A plumber with a great reputation can hear from the city what exactly is wrong with my water pipes." Wish I had another plumber hear the issues. Patrick said what he thought the price to do the work might be, but said he needed to get back to the office to write up an official report. I was a little surprised that he didn't write up a quote right then and there, especially considering the job was a pretty straight forward 'run a new line from the street into the house' kind of thing (Ok, to be honest, I wanted a quote for running the line from the street into my house by both going under the house, or, once the pipe reached the house, the plumbing would be run through the ceiling of the basement.), but maybe they just do things a bit different at his office. I was told I would get an estimate either later in the day or the next. Called the next day to inquire about the estimate and was told that it was written up, but the boss of the office had to review it to make sure everything was right. Oh no. Not getting a quote on the 1st day combined with the "boss needs to review the estimate" screams scam to me. But, hey, they get great reviews so I'll hang in there. Call again on the 26th about not getting the estimate. Patrick makes some claim about being sure that he got them the information and he would call the office to find out what was going on. Well, you know that estimate that the boss was reviewing to make sure it was right, guess that estimate might not have been written up yet. I'm told I'll get the quote on Mon (9/30), but maybe as early as Fri. So I get on the phone and start calling other plumbers, plumbers who show up on time and give me a written quote before they leave. But what about Power Plumbing? Still no estimate from them on Monday. I call Patrick and tell him of this fact and then proceed to inform him that an estimate from his company was no longer needed. I guess they thought I was joking, because on 10/1, more than a week after Patrick had been at my house, I finally get a quote from them; almost a $1000 over what Patrick thought it might cost.
