Great. Excellent example of why there is an Angie's List!
Description of Work: I had a small bathroom that needed repainting and was treated like it was a big job. Kelly (the owner) was quick to follow-up on my initial request and Jason who did the painting was excellent.

There was some peeling from the first job so they gave me a discount on other services. They fixed that while they did the other rooms. It took a while to get scheduled because they are very busy. They did a good job on the ceiling but one of the walls could have been better.
Description of Work: They did some interior painting. They painted three rooms the last time. They also painted for me last summer.

Seamless and took the time to explore all options, including a new paint color on one wall that I decided a few days before the project was supposed to start. All expectations are set from the beginning and the timing was right on.
Description of Work: Kelly's color consulting is fabulous. She leave you thinking about your life, not your walls, and how color changes and influences your lifestyle and vision. Her crew is extremely professional, clean and treats your home as if it were their home.

My place looks fantastic - very pleased with the work. Kelly Fitzsimmons - owner of Paint The Town Red - brings a design sensibility/expertise which really helped to make the final results exceptional. She worked with me to come up with a color solution that nails my personality and design ethic - not an easy thing to do. I have a lot of bold art; the paint job really showcases it. The added value of the design expertise is a big I reason I went with Paint The Town Red vs. a typical painting contractor. The design process works really well - Kelly came over and worked one on one with me in my space with color swatches etc. A couple of hours later we had come up together with a strong design solution. Paint The Town Red was more expensive than the other estimates I got. But for me the added value of the design process delivered results that were worth it. The job took about five and half days from start to finish. The crew headed up Juan was extremely nice and did very neat work - the actual paint job looks great! Follow-ups have been handled well I am very comfortable giving Paint The Town Red a strong recommendation.
Description of Work: Hired to paint my two bed/bath condo - about 1400 square feet. Estimate included all walls, trim and selected ceilings.

Getting on Kelly's schedule can be a bit tricky, but once you're in - you go! Kelly is very focused on her customer. After spending three years moaning over paint swatches, she came in, made suggestions I liked right away, and the whole color picking process was over in 1/2 hour. I felt a little rushed at the time, but now I realize that she was helping me get to work. Her crew are perfect gentlemen. They protected my new wood floors and took time to move and protect my furniture. They did a terrific job. The only minuses here would be some paint splatters and drips in the kitchen, and a crack that was painted over, rather than repaired, in the bathroom. I love the way my space looks now. Very warm and very vibrant.
Description of Work: Kelly helped me to pick the colors for my condo by trying to get a feeling for me and what I wanted out of the rooms. Her crew then moved my furniture, patched, sanded, and primed the walls, before adding 2 coats of luscious color. The work was done in just over three days.

I'm terrible with color section and I wanted to do something a little different, so when I came across a painter that also did color consulting I was very interested. I shopped around a bit and Kelly's price was several hundred more than other estimates, but that included the color consulting that would have cost me several hundred dollars anyways. We met and discussed colors in the various rooms for at least an hour(after we had a signed contract). We set it up so the carpet guy was there as well so we could pick out carpet colors as well! A total bonus!! Her crew was able to start sooner than expected and was at work at 7ish every morning on a Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! I made a surprise visit and everything was covered and even the floors in the hallways had paper over them so they would not track anything into the house. Their attention to detail was incredible. The work turned out fantastic and they did a great job with clean up as well.

Overall, we were delighted with the outcome and would recommend Paint the Town Red. I was very happy with Kelly s professionalism especially how she would follow up with me throughout the process. In the past I have done the painting myself, however this time I needed to hire someone since a portion of the ceiling needed to be re-taped due to some minor water damage. I am very happy I did. In addition, since the room needed to be repainted anyways, I decided to change the color. Kelly made the process of choosing a new color very easy. I hope to hire Kelly and her team for all our future painting needs.

We wanted to make our garden level guest bedroom look more inviting and cheery. But our previous work in the bedroom didn't get us the look we wanted. In addition, we had some minor wall and beam repairs in other rooms that needed to be taken care of. Paint The Town Red seemed to specialize in both detailed wall repair and in providing design and color advice. We met with Kelly to show her the spaces needing work, and she e-mailed a quote shortly afterward. We had also had the work quoted out by a more straightforward repair service as well. Paint The Town Red's quote was more expensive, but they were also going to provide more services. We ultimately decided to go with them, and are very glad we did. They started working right away, and we met with Kelly for a design consult. Kelly spent a good 30 minutes with us in the bedroom, going over different color ideas. She would have us narrow down choices, leave the room, then come back in and see if we passed the "blind taste test" paint choice to make sure we really wanted the color. Kelly also proposed finishing the cement column with a Venetian plaster, when we asked her about ideas for that structure. We weren't sure, so she actually took us to her own apartment where she had a similar finish done on some of her walls. It looked great and sold us on the idea. Kelly's crew was fantastic. They worked incredibly hard, were very friendly and polite, and did a great job cleaning up afterward. A few minor issues came up that they handled right away and completely to our satisfaction. Although the whole service was more expensive than other options, we definitely feel we got a fair price. Paint The Town Red provided a lot of extras, not the least of which was Kelly's design advice. They were definitely worth the slightly higher price compared to more standard painters. We were thrilled with the final result and think the room looks gorgeous. And we definitely would not have been able to make it look so nice without Kelly.
Description of Work: They repaired and painted some rust spots and peeling paint on some exposed metal beams. They chipped away flaking paint from an exposed pipe and repainted it. They patched and painted a stress crack in some drywall. The bulk of the work, however, was done in a guest bedroom. They painted all the bedroom walls, 3 of which were drywall, and one of which was brick with a cement column. Prior to painting they completely plastered over the brick and cement. They also put a Venetian plaster finish on the column.

I had used Kelly's crew once before when they had done an excellent job in terms of quality, but I'd felt the price was too steep, so on a recent paint job I used someone who was equally good but a lot less pricey. I had to spend two full days cleaning up after his "clean-up," so I decided to use Kelly's company once again, because I remembered how spotless they'd left my place on the first job. I knew I could rely on them to do the job quickly, expertly and spotlessly. They did not disappoint. I told Kelly I was on a tight schedule and she managed to squeeze my job in on a rush basis. The two-man crew arrived on time and spent the first day prepping. They did such a thorough job of protecting floors and sealing off doorways that I didn't even have to remove my clothes from the closet! They pounded loose nails, filled holes, sanded (always the messiest part of the job) and left nary a trace elsewhere in the house. Day two was the actual painting, and I came home to see the job completed and the cleanup spotless. There were a couple of miscommunication on my part, about some hardware I'd wanted to leave intact, and the crew leader came the next day and cheerfully tended to this detail. I did not have to spend a single minute cleaning up after the cleanup, and this was just what I needed with my busy schedule. As for the price, well, it's high, there's no doubt about it. But what's that clich about good quality, fast service and low price? You can have two out of three. Definitely true, and I have no complaints at all. I am one happy -- if broke -- customer!

Overall, the quality of the work is excellent. The crew did a great job -- very punctual and professional. However, along the way, we ran into a couple of complications. After contacting PTTR, we decided that in one of the rooms we should get the trim along the windows and baseboards stripped. We asked PTTR for an estimate. This is not an area for which they have an expertise and they should have indicated that. Instead, we waited until the morning that the job was to start for the crew chief to give a less than enthusiastic estimate on what they could and could not do. As a result, our job ended up being done in 2 stages as we had to hire a wood stripper to come in mid-painting. Second, there was a wealth of miscommunication over what exactly was covered in the estimate and what was not. Specifically, if you say you want a room painted, we assumed it meant the entire room. However, we found out windows, radiators, etc were a la carte and not included in the estimate. Again, this we find out after the work has started. Third, the owner, who initially sold us on using PTTR, failed to come out at the end of the job to personally inspect the work which we found to be at odds with virtually every other company that we have used to do this type of work. Clearly, someone who is in the business will have a more critical eye than her customers. Bottom line, while the finished product was excellent, the route to it was less than stellar. The original estimate was competitive with the initial estimates from other contractors. However, once you add in the extras as well as the cost of the 2nd contractor, the project ended up being a lot more than anticipated based on the initial estimate. We have no issue paying for quality work but we strongly believe that everything should have been revealed and discussed upfront.

I had gotten estimates from 3 of the top interior painters on Angie's List and Kelly's estimate was the most reasonable. Our first real interactions with Kelly was when she came over for our color consultation. The consultation lasted about 90 minutes and Kelly took the vision that my wife and I had for our space and made suggestions on colors based on that. She then turned the work over to Juan, who was the head of her painting crew. The crew was efficient, clean, and very trustworthy, and put all of our stuff back into place after painting was completed. While the painting was happening in our house, Kelly was in constant communication with us and confirmed that everything was being done to our exact specifications. After painting was completed she helped rearrange our paintings/art work in order to complete the transformation of our living space. I highly recommend Kelly and Paint the Town Red, and would gladly use them in the future.

I have always done my own painting (including this room twice) but this room was my Achilles Heel because I didn't like either color I painted it, nor any of the large splotches of other color choices that have decorated the walls for 6 months. In desperation, I called Kelly who looked at the room that day and made me feel comfortable that she knew what kind of look I wanted. Kelly spent 1 1/2 hours with me looking at 8 1/2 x 11 color samples and provided some alternatives that I hadn't considered. She left the samples I liked and ordered a dozen more that provided gradations of the color choices I was considering. Having such large samples made it easier to envision the color on the walls and to move the samples around to see how the color was affected by different light conditions. Kelly gave me no pressure to make a choice when I needed more time, even though she was trying to schedule her crew. Her painter Juan and his assistant were very professional, quick, and did excellent work. They removed their shoes when entering my house, and vacuumed the room after they finished. And, I am happy to say, I love the color! The room has exactly the feel I was looking for. I don't think I could have done it without Kelly's help.

They were great! Kelly helped us in the color selection and acted as our counselor as my wife and I squabbled over colors. Even when we changed our minds after they started, Kelly came back and helped pick out new complimenting colors with us. Juan and his crew stepped in and the went above and beyond, repairing walls and painted them to look like new. They were on time everyday. Juan even came back to reseal part of our ceiling that kept bubbling and made it look brand new. We were extremely happy with the finished product. Kelly and her crew helped us make our house feel like a home.

They did an excellent job. From the start, when I met Kelly, I was very comfortable with what she was proposing. Her team far exceeded my expectations. I had just had floors refinished, and I was able to schedule Kelly's team to come in right after that which was a huge help to me. Kelly assisted me with paint selections which turned out great. My favorite thing done was by far my fireplace. They removed an existing wood shelf and covered over brick with a Chocolate colored Venetian Plaster. It is now the focal point in my living room where before my fireplace was an eyesore. I would highly recommend Kelly and her team of professional painters to anyone.
Description of Work: They skim coated my living room walls, painted them, put crown molding up in the living room, and did an exceptional job on my fireplace with Venetian Plaster. They then painted my hallway, dining Room, my daughters bedroom and the master bedroom and bath.

Kelly and her crew have been the most professional contractor that my husband and I have worked with while remodeling our house during the past year. When Kelly came to look at our house to prepare an estimate, she walked through with me to see what needed to be done. She also had a portfolio of before and after pictures of other homes that she and her crew had worked on. She stressed that she is committed to doing the job right and in a timely manner. After we decided to go with her, she spent about an hour on Friday and another hour on Saturday helping us choosing colors for each room. This was extremely helpful. We showed her a color we liked and then she gave us a few other options to consider. But, she never pressured us, only helped us to make the best decision. I could tell that she enjoyed helping people choose colors that would make them happy. Her crew worked for four solid days. They first put paper down on all of our floors to protect them from spills. They fixed many cracks and areas of peeling, old paint. Then they primed the walls, put the first coat on, and then fixed additional spots as needed. The crew was very friendly, and respectful of our home. The leader of the crew, Juan, was also very helpful. He answered all of our questions and even asked us how we wanted certain angles of the ceiling painted, before he did it. We were very impressed with him. Other workers we've had in our home didn't bother to ask us what we wanted and had no sense of craftsmanship. Once they were finished, Kelly came back and did a final walk through with me. She marked areas that needed to be touched up. Then the crew did the touch-ups before they left. The crew also removed all the paper and tape and swept up. It was such a pleasure working with Kelly and her crew. I will definitely use Paint the Town Red again. They made us believe that there are contractors out there who really do care about craftsmanship.
Description of Work: We had most of our new addition painted. This included the kitchen, sunroom, guest bedroom, basement, dining room, stairwell, master bedroom and master bathroom. Cracks in the old walls were repaired and all the walls were primed. We also spent time with Kelly choosing colors for each room.

White everywhere - I was overwhelmed and unable to make a decision about anything! A client referred me to Paint the Town Red. Kelly responded quickly to my original email contact and we met at my house within the week. She was very honest about the cost of her services from the very start. Her goal is transform your home into a living space that provides whatever you need. For my family, our home needed warmth, love, energy, color, cohesiveness/flow and fun. I wanted friends/family to walk in and say, "WOW, I didn't know you had it in you!" That is what we got! Kelly is very intuitive and very quickly tuned into our need to transform the house and keep within a reasonable budget. First meeting, Kelly toured the house and noted flaws, needs and size - able to give a working estimate immediately. Introduced and explained the type of paint choices on the market allowing input on durability and upkeep -- she uses "Green Sure" Sherwin Williams products. Second meeting - choosing colors! WOW! Kelly's honest talent made even this most daunting process fun and fascinating - it was amazing how all the colors just presented themselves as the most obvious choices. She even included the kids in on some of the fun - choosing the colors in the rooms they spend most of their time. The work begins - starting with all the repair work to the final product; the 4 men from Paint the Town Red taking 7 days were always very courteous, timely, precise (how they got such perfect straight lines in the 3 cathedral ceilings I will never know), clean, honest and hard working. They covered everything and moved the furniture back to where it all belonged. While I was gone, a small item was broken - it was the first thing I was informed of that day with immediate apologies and obvious remorse --- I felt worse for him than the object. Kelly came through as needed and pointed out different points on the walls that were missed (very detail oriented) and than repaired. The paint chosen was great! We were all able to sleep in our bedrooms the night they were finished --- there were no odors/fumes. Kelly came back to help rearrange artwork and agreed that 1 wall color needed to be changed. The next day, the wall was painted and all the artwork was hung! Even my husband was amazed at the quality of their work!!! That is saying something. I WOULD RECOMMEND PAINT THE TOWN RED TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TRANSFORM NOT ONLY THEIR HOME, BUT THEIR OWN SENSE OF CALM, BELONGING, WARMTH AND FAMILY. I NOW LOVE MY HOME! LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!!!! THANKS KELLY for making the journey painless and fun!
Description of Work: 10+ year old house 4BR and 4BA - interior had never been painted, so contractor white paint everywhere. Settling cracks in cathedral ceilings, around fans, water damage around windows, nail pops along with general wear and tear on walls (3 kids). I needed help choosing colors, repairing walls, painting along with rearranging furniture and hanging wall decorations.

From start to finish the process was wonderful. Kelly did a full color consultation with me before the work was started to help me select the colors for my home. The crew was respectful, fast and professional. The work was completed 2 days early and the finished product is perfect. The painting crew cleaned up so well that I never found a spec of dust from all of the sanding- they even vacuumed my bedroom to ensure this.
Description of Work: A full color consultation was done with Kelly before the painting began. Colors were selected, Kelly did an excellent job of helping me coordinate a color scheme that would flow well with my personal taste and with my belongings. Entire interior of my condo painted: Bedroom, living areas, kitchen and bathroom. All walls were sanded and smoothed over, holes filled, etc.

Kelly was quick and responsive. Prompt and on time for appointments. A true pleasure to work with. She came to our home and led us through a color consultation for approximately 45 minutes. We use color extensively in our home and she helped us refine our ideas and provide alternatives appropriate to compliment colors already present in our home. She estimated 4 days to complete the work, which was substantially completed in two days. Her team of painters were also prompt and treated our home with care, cleaning up and storing equipment and materials in a manner that didn t impact the usability of the space. Kelly gladly sent one of her painters to complete and touch up several areas that needed more attention. The touch up visit, which took less then an hour including set up and clean up, could have been avoided had they taken a bit more time during the two days of painting. The painting started on Thursday morning, was finished by Friday evening, and touch up completed Monday morning. I felt a bit more time and care could have been taken in preparing the surfaces for painting (filling cracks in wood trim work, smoothing tape wrinkles, etc.) however, this didn t significantly impact the finished product. We love the new look and the ease in which Kelly and her team at Paint The Town Red was to work with. We have no hesitation in using them again!
Description of Work: Prepped and painted one stairwell and one adjacent hallway/stairwell/atrium area that is very open and leads to roof top deck. Color consultation, repaired water damaged areas including ceiling of atrium area, preparation of walls and trim, finish coat for walls and all woodwork including stair stringers, six windows, skylight, and six doors.

The color consultation was a fun exercise. Kelly explained the process and asked us what we were going to keep, what as optional, and what was going. The dining and living rooms have wood floors, a blue sectional, a Queen Ann style cherry table and chairs. The kitchen has white cabinets with wood trim and light blue tile. Kelly gave us an assignment, to find colors that we would want to add to the rooms. Over the next week we selected a rug to go under the sectional, 5 different colors of pillows and a large print, all the colors and textures complemented the blue sectional (made the blue sectional less predominant in the room). We also found a rug for the entry wall with warm red and orange colors in it. On Kelly's next visit, we started looking at colors for the walls. This process was driven by the colors we brought into our house with the rugs and pillows. Kelly's guidance in presenting different colors and explaining how they worked in the rooms was excellent (the color consultation was one of the determining reasons we selected Paint The Town Red). She suggested things that we may never had considered. A crew of four worked four very long days. A large focus in the preparation process was addressing flaws on the walls and some cracks on the ceiling. My wife saw most of this work and was impressed. The crew was very clean in their work. The patching that was done is not noticeable. We are very pleased with the outcome of the project. Our rooms are alive and warm. Even our boys want to show their friends the new look.
Description of Work: We were looking to have our kitchen, dinning room, living room, entry way and hallway painted (including ceilings wall boards). The kitchen and entry wall had wall paper that would need to be removed. Wall and ceiling patching would be required for a ceiling exhaust fan in the kitchen and other devices in other rooms that had been removed from the walls. The kitchen would be faux. Selecting the colors for the rooms is something that we would need help with. A color consultation would be performed too.

Kelly came out and gave us an estimate that was clearly lower than some others we'd received. She also helped us pick out the colors for the study, which were colors we would never have considered ourselves, but we love the finished product. The study looks fantastic, and the living room ceiling looks a lot better than it did. Our only complaint about the entire process had to do with how our house keys were handled. We both work, and so we gave Kelly a key so that she could get in to do the work. On the third day of work, at about 6:40 in the morning, one of her employees just walked in to our home, no knocking, no call, nothing. We happened to be up and in the kitchen making breakfast, but his comment upon walking in was, "Oh, I thought you'd be asleep." Also, we had an issue with getting our key back promptly after having the work done; we wanted the crew to just leave the key, but instead they took the key home with them and we didn't get it back until the next day.
Description of Work: PTTR repaired water damage to our living room ceiling, painted the ceiling, repaired water damage in our study, and repainted the entire study, including ceiling and trim.

I called Kelly and needed the painting done the following week. She was friendly and professional and quick to provide an estimate. Her team showed up on time and completed the job in two days. At the end, Kelly did a walk through with me and we pointed out several areas to her crew that needed fixing--which they addressed. They did a particularly good job with the bedroom which was tricky because it was painted a dark color. My advice if you use this company is to be very exact (write it down) as to what gets painted (trim areas, closet doors, etc) as there was some confusion about these details. Not the least expensive company--their estimate was a bit higher than others. Overall though, a good quality job.
Description of Work: They painted two stairwells, a hallway and the master bedroom.

THIS MEMBER IS GREAT. SHE WAS REDOING HER ENTIRE HOUSE FROM FURNITURE TO CROWN MOLDING! IT WAS A BIT DIFFICULT TO WORK WHILE THE CARPENTER WAS WORKING THERE TOO AND WE RETURNED AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED AND APPROVED BY HER TO FIX AN ISSUE DUE TO THE CARPENTER. WE DID NOT CHARGE HER FOR THE ADDITIONAL REPAIR. ALL WORK TO BE COMPLETED IS METICULOUSLY DETAILED IN THE CONTRACT SO NO NEED TO WRITE ANYTHING DOWN. THANKS FOR YOUR FEEDBACK! LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THE FRIEND THAT YOU REFERRED TO US.

It was a good experience. Their pricing was great! I have used them twice, and they have done an outstanding job both times. Kelly Fitzsimmons is excellent to work with, whether it be with traditional painting or color consulting services. I would recommend them to anyone, and I look forward to working with them again.
Description of Work: They painted the entire interior of my home.

WE TRANSFORMED THE OLD DINGY-WHITE, NICOTINE COATED WALLS INTO A CLASSY, WARM AND VIBRANT HOME. CLEANING AND PREPARING THE SUBSTRATES OF THE NEWLY PURCHASE HOME WAS A CRITICAL STEP IN THIS PAINTING PROCESS. WE REMOVED THE GRIME, PRIMED THE STAINED WALLS AND PAINTED WITH SPECIAL MOLD RESISTANT PAINT TO REPEL ANY POTENTIAL REOCCURRENCE OF MOISTURE DAMAGE. ONCE THE SPACE WITH FULLY PREPARED WE PAINTED WITH RICH COLORS THAT SUIT THE MEMBER AND HIS WIFE'S PERSONALITY AND LIFE STYLE. WHEN SELECTING THE COLOR PALATE FOR THE ENTIRE HOME WE TOOK INTO CONSIDERATION THE NATURAL LIGHTING, THE 16 FOOT CEILINGS AND THE DECOR. THE IDEA WAS TO ENHANCE THE NEWLY PURCHASED CARPET AND ALLOW FOR ALL THE ROOMS TO FLOW NATURALLY ONE INTO THE OTHER. THE RESULTS WERE STUNNING! THEY WERE LOVELY CLIENTS AND SO FUN TO WORK WITH AS WE CREATED THEIR FIRST HOME IN CHICAGO TOGETHER.

It was wonderful!! From the submission of the estimate through the final day of painting, I was very pleased with the attention and care I was provided. Kelly is wonderful to work with and helped immensely in the color selection and management of the crew. There is no way that I would have chosen the colors I did without her and the color selections look wonderful!! I cannot say enough about her painting crew! From day one and throughout, they were all terrific. Each day they were obviously very concerned to make sure they did their job well but they respected my home as well. Each individual was extremely conscientous and went the extra mile to deliver a great final result. It gets messy, yes... It was difficult to live here during the project, especially with a 10 month old, but I would use this company again in a heartbeat. You will see that I marked them as "fair" when it came to "price" below but note - you get what you pay for. We paid for GREAT quality and received it!
Description of Work: Interior painting of my condo which has some unique twists to it. There is a large great room that contains the kitchen/dining and living area. This then connects to a guest room via a 3/4 quarter wall in the kitchen as well as leads to the hallway and upstairs areas. In other words, many of the colors needed to flow. All in all -the project consisted of repairing cracks, etc. and painting the kitchen/living and dining room/hallway/office loft area and guest room.

THEIR NEWLY CONSTRUCTED, HOME WAS UNIFORMLY WHITE IN EVERY ROOM AND ALREADY HAD SETTLING CRACKS AFTER 3 YEARS. THE LACK OF COLOR WAS UNINSPIRING, ESPECIALLY NOW WITH A NEWBORN! SO WE ‘TIGHTENED’ UP THE SPACE BY REPAIRING ALL THE CRACKS (NOT JUST ‘HIDING’ THEM BUT OPENING THEM UP AND TAPING THEM SO THEY WILL NOT RETURN). THEN WE SELECTED A COLOR FOR THE LARGE 22 FOOT LIVING ROOM WALL. THE GOAL WAS TO WARM UP THE ROOM TO MAKE IT MORE COZY AND INVITING WITHOUT MAKING THE WALL TOO OVERBEARING AND DOMINANT. WE ALSO HAD TO MATCH THE UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL GRANITE IN THE KITCHEN WHICH WAS ALL ONE OPEN SPACE, WITH A COLOR THAT COULD ALSO LEAD DOWN THE HALLWAY AND UP THE STAIRS TO THE SUN ROOM. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE GENTLE YET RICH FLOW OF COLORS THAT WE SELECTED “WOWED” HER FAMILY AND GUESTS WHO SAW IT FOR THE FIRST TIME ON EASTER! FOR MOST PEOPLE IT IS DIFFICULT TO SELECT COLORS FOR SO MANY TALL WALLS IN AN OPEN VAULTED SPACE. WITH JUST A BIT OF EXPERT GUIDANCE WE CAME UP WITH DRAMATIC AND SOPHISTICATED RESULTS PERFECT FOR THEM NOW, WHILE PREPARING TO PUT ON THE MARKET IN A FEW YEARS.
Kelly came to our house and introduced her company and business philosophy. We requested painting for the stairway, living/dining area, kitchen, and bathroom. Her consultation helped us select colors that really made the place feel like home. Kelly highlighted our unique layout, and created a smooth color flow. Our bathroom needed a soffit to hide a 4-inch diameter pipe. Instead of taking the easy route, Kelly's worker built a soffit that blends beautifully with the angles. We did have some inconvenience. The work took longer than estimated, partially because things can pop up in old buildings. The slow and sloppy work one day when Kelly was out of town also delayed completion. We were upset, but Kelly was extremely professional. She agreed the work did not meet her expectations. Kelly made every effort to fix the deficiencies and reasonably compensate us. She added a few services, like painting some doors that were initially not included. We are happy to recommend Kelly!
Description of Work: - Color consultation - Creating a soffit in the bathroom around the PVC - Repair the drywall holes - Per contract 2 coats of paint (partially ended up being more) on all the following walls and ceilings: Entryway / Stairway and Stairs, Living Room, Kitchen, Bathroom, Doors (5 sides) - All baseboards painted - Repair track lighting holes

The whole process was as easy as getting two-thirds of the house painted simultaneously can be. We were able to have our initial meeting fairly quickly, and things progressed easily from there. The crew was skilled, meticulous, and friendly. They were careful to cover floors and other surfaces and the clean-up was great. I would not hesitate to hire Kelly again and have already recommended her to friends and family. Her estimate was within $100 or so of another Angie's list-recommended painting company, but her counsel and professionalism were impressive. And, she is fun!
Description of Work: Paint the Town Red painted the living room, dining room, family room/den, hallways on two floors, stairwells, stairs, and kitchen in our newly purchased townhouse. We took full advantage of Kelly's color consulting expertise. We had a pretty good idea of color for some of the rooms, but were stumped on the living room and dining room. Kelly probably spent 2-21/2 hours with us doing the initial walk-through, the color consultation, and the color trials. We are thrilled with the results. Kelly led us to some colors we hadn't considered (although we had considered many). We were so excited about the living room and dining room that we asked her to re-paint our new kitchen as we had made a mistake on our color choice there a few months earlier. She also helped us make a better decision on our back splash.

THIS MEMBER WAS JUST GREAT TO WORK WITH. THE PROCESS WAS COLLABORATIVE AND FUN. SHE REALLY UNDERSTOOD THAT COLOR SELECTION FOR HER HOME WAS NOT ABOUT THE THIS YEAR’S TRENDY COLORS, BUT RATHER THE MOOD THE COLORS CREATED IN EACH ROOM BASED ON THE LIGHTING AND THE TONE OF THE HUE SELECTED. SINCE COLOR CREATES AN EMOTIONAL REACTION THAT ACTUALLY WELCOMES OR REPELS PEOPLE FROM A SPACE, IT WAS CRITICAL THAT ALL THE COLORS IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE FLOW AND FEEL INVITING YET A BIT DRAMATIC. JUST LIKE A RESTAURANT DESIGNER SPENDS HOURS CREATING A DÉCOR TO MAKE THE PATRONS COMFORTABLE SO THEY CAN’T WAIT TO RETURN, WE SPENT TIME SELECTING JUST THE RIGHT COLORS FOR HER LIFESTYLE. I LOVED THE PROCESS AND THE RESULTS ARE GORGEOUS!
