Mr Duct Chicagoland

The technicians arrived at 7:59am for the appointment, which was scheduled from 8am - 10am. They were very polite and spoke perfect English. They checked out my furnace and carefully brought in all of their equipment. They explained what they were going to do and that they would keep everything clean and neat. The duct cleaning involved cutting a hole in my main trunk line, which was later patched and sealed. They cleaned all the ducts with a long rubber hose. Before they left they showed me before and after vido of my ducts, which was pretty gimmicky but nice. They also made sure to vacuum up all the debris and dust that blew out the vents. I choose Mr. Duct based off AL reviews and price. I received three quotes, one for $150 more then Mr. Duct and 1 for $150 less. I would recommend them for duct cleaning.

Set up appointment for a simple dryer vent cleaning. Business day before appointment they called to see if I could move my two hour window from 1-3 pm to 12-2 pm because they had a rash of cancellations and were not going to need all their workers that day. I agreed to the time change and on the day of the appointment, 10 minutes before the end of the time window they called to say that the technician was running late and that I was the next appointment. I was told that he would be by my house by 3 pm. 3 pm came and went and so I called the office again. The office guy called out to the technician who was still busy with the previous appointment and they wanted me to wait again. They wanted to make sure they do a good job at the current job they were at before moving on. I respect that however, this was more time than I was willing to wait for a simple dryer vent cleaning.

They were neat, professional and much quicker than the expected range they predicted. Although a bit on the pricier side than ads you see in the paper, probably a better bet as they specialize in this type of service, and are not just offering it on the side. I would use them again, or recommend to a friend. Overall, I feel much better about the quality of air that's circulating through our house. Our cats LOVE to cozy up to where the heat comes out near the floor, so we wouldn't want to jeopardize their (or our) health.

They told me they were done and I could see they wanted to leave quickly. I asked if they could show me with the camera how the duct looked after the cleaning. They were OK to do so. They showed the return vent that they showed me before. I asked if they could show me some in the upstairs and they did show a return and a supply vent in the master bedroom. The return had fine dust on the surface where my hands could reach. I asked why there was dust in the vent right after cleaning it. They explained that was because there was some of drywall (about 1/4 inch) that was not covered by the metal at the edge of the vent. Obviously this is not the reason; they just wanted to make some excuse for themselves for a job they did not do well. But I did not want to argue with them. So I paid them and they quickly left. After they left, I checked each vent on the floor using my hands to see if they were clean. To my big surprise, I found most vents had fine dust and I got a handful of beef jerky from one of the vents in the den. I guess the children of the previous owners might have dropped them there. I chose Mr. Duct from a dozen of companies that provided the duct cleaning service because the Angie?s List gives it a good rating; even Mr. Duct's price was higher than others. Maybe it was just bad luck? I didn't know if they were so rushed because this was how these two technicians work or if they were under pressure for time because they had another job after mine. The total time they spent in my house was 3 hours; that started from them pulling the truck on the driveway and stopped when they drove off from the driveway. We just recently found that Mr. Duct not only failed to clean my duct, but also broke my second floor duct system. When the heat came to the Chicago area in May, we turned on our AC, but the second floor would not cool down even if the AC was running constantly. We had an AC technician out to check the unit and he found the unit was running normal and the air filter was very full of stuff like cotton balls. So he suggested that we change to a new filter. We did, but two hours after we changed the filter, we found the filter was full of the cotton ball stuff again. We started to check the duct in the attic and found the air intake duct was broken there. So it sucked all the insulation material into the duct and then stopped at the filter. Because the air is so hot in the attic, the AC would take a long time to cool the hot air down. We fixed the duct ourselves. No one worked in the attic except the Mr. Duct technician who cut the duct to connect the vacuum machine. Obviously he stepped on the duct and broke it. He did not tell us about the problem, nor tried to fix it. He just left with an open hole in the duct.

I called a day before Christmas, hoping they would be able to come within the week. They were able to accommodate! Two workers showed up promptly at the scheduled time. They were friendly and polite and thoroughly explained what they were going to do. They did not make us feel bad for not having our air ducts cleaned in the last 40 years! Before beginning, using live video, they snaked a camera down one of the vents to show me what the vents looked like before they started. (Ewww! A lot accumulates in 40 years!) They worked quietly and efficiently. It was clear they knew what they were doing and had a system. When they finished (in about 1 1/2 hours), they snaked down a camera again and showed me the "after" view. Wow! What a difference! We will all be breathing more easily this winter, and we'll be happy to recommend Mr. Duct Air Duct Cleaning to our friends.

We had a professional estimate emailed to us shortly after calling for a quote. They were sure to give us an Angies List discount too. Mr. Duct was able to squeeze us in on short notice and we scheduled the work soon after. The young guys that came over to clean the ducts were quite green, but very polite and professional. The cleaning was done without a problem. I would have liked a little more experience in general to feel more secure about the work. They had to cut holes in the duct to attach the giant vacuum to; I hope they sealed it up well when they were finished. I would hire them again, but would ask for a more experienced crew. I have had some nasty jobs in my life where people would look at me like; 'do you know what you are doing' so I know what its like. The truth is I knew what I was doing, but did'nt look like I did.

2 man team. Called that day to see if they could come earler, but were happy to wait since I wasn't free. Final price was right in middle of estimate and cheaper than other companies. They also applied a discount that I found on their website. Team was able to get the vent cleared of a large amount of lint very quickly - even though it had been years since it had been cleaned. The dryer works much better now. Overall a very good experience

Overall a frustrating experience and a waste of time. We live in a 15 unit condo building and all the unit owners wanted to have their dryer vents cleaned. Mr. Duct sent a person out to provide us with an accurate estimate of cost for performing the dryer vent cleaning for the entire building. We received an estimate from Mr. Duct via email and went ahead to schedule cleanings for 4 out of 15 units. When the two man team arrived at 8:00am on the scheduled day they took a look at the first unit and said they could not service our type of dryers. I proceeded to show them the estimate from their company and explained that a person from Mr. Duct came out to the building to give this estimate. At this point I decided to call Mr. Duct and got the operations manager on the line giving the phone to the service techs to see if the problem could be rectified. The techs hung up, gave back the phone and said they still could not do the job. I called back Mr. Duct got the operations manager back on the phone and demanded an explanation since that or an apology was never offered, and I had three neighbors who were still waiting to have their dryer vents serviced. The operations manager finally explained that they did not service our type of stackable washer/dryer units because it did not have a removable front. This was incomprehensible to me because Mr. Duct had one of their own people come out three weeks prior to look at our dryers and provide us with an on-site estimate. After providing Mr. Duct management with the invoice number from the estimate and several hours of waiting for a phone call, the operations manager finally apologized admitting that the error was made on their end. In the end Mr. Duct offered us compensation in the amount of 50% of the cost to clean the four units scheduled. Our condo association is still not sure how this mistake happened, and it was truly an inconvenience because it was during the holidays and people took time off from work, rearranged schedules to accommodate this cleaning. However, it is clear that at least one of Mr. Duct's employees does not know what type of machines they service.

Found Mr. Duct from Angie's List. When I originally called no one was available to take my call and I left a message and then received a return call within five minutes. I made an appointment in late December and Mr. Duct arrived exactly at the scheduled time (8am) on the appointment day. Very professional, courteous, and friendly. Completed air duct cleaning for my three floor, two bedroom town home in about two hours. Frequently asked me if I had any questions about the process or what they were working at that current moment. This was my first experience with air duct cleaning. Would highly recommend.

I called a few weeks ago to schedule this appt for my week off of work. The employees showed up on time. They thoroughly explained the process and what they were doing and answered any questions. They were very personable. There was minimal disruption considering there were 4 people at home and the house did not get too cold. The whole process took about 2 hours. They showed me what they were doing and the evidence of all the dirt, grime and dust before and after. They also used the camera scope and showed me evidence of how the ducts were cleaned out. The cleaned up after themselves.I feel like my furnace is working more efficiently. I don't know how long it had been, but it had to be many, many years of dirt and dust. This is something I had wanted to do since I moved in here 5 years ago, and am so glad to finally have it done.

It went great, was over quickly, and the dryer works 10 times better now. The technician also answered all of my questions and gave me good advice on maintenance we could do ourselves for the dryer vent and air ducts throughout the house.

The team (2 guys) showed up on time and finished the job in approximately the time they said it would (around 3 1/2 hours). The job was very thorough and I was very pleased with the outcome. At the end, they dropped a camera down into one of the vents to show how clean it turned out. We will definitely contact them again when we need to get our ducts cleaned.

Very polite and responsive on initial call to set up appointment. Gave window of time to arrive, but kinda tied up my day for awhile because they did not let me know--despite my previous call to them--that they were going to arrive after the window of time they specified. Once the two young men arrived, they were very nice, polite and efficient.

Technician was about 5 minutes EARLY which was great. He was very polite and respectful of me and of our belongings.

I'm very happy with the job done by Mr Duct, will certainly use them again..

The experience was very good. A two man crew arrived on time and was done in about an hour and 45 minutes. They checked each duct and return and showed us before and after on a camera scope. They were meticulous about not bringing dirt and snow into the house and kept all of their equipment neatly organized in the house. I would recommend them.

The technician and his helper arrived at the time promised. It took just under 2 hours. they were very thorough and professional.

It went very well. They cleaned up after they left, showed me the work they did (they ran a video camera down the main duct), and were completely professional throughout. They are a little pricey, but no more so than any of the other duct cleaners. I'd use them again.

They were very quick and very efficient. They quality was okay because they had to come back and do it again. They were not very punctual because I had to call them two or three times.

I called on Monday and they offered to come out on Tuesday, but I was unavailable so they came on Thursday. They were scheduled for 10 am but called at 8 am and asked if they could come earlier which they did. Technician showed me via camera ducts before and after cleaning. Technician was professional and friendly. Service took about 2 hours.

When I called Mr. Duct, they asked the sq. footage of our home, so they could give me an estimate over the phone. They were able to come out within a week , so we set up a window of 11:00 - 1:00. The day of the appt. they called to let me know within a half hour I think it was, when they would be here, and they were here in the time frame they gave me. The service guy was great. He explained what he'd be doing, showed me the inside of the vent before and after (yep, there was dog hair, dust, etc. in there alright....). He did a great job on the vents, and the furnace looked great too. He also checked the filter for the humidifier on the furnace, and found that it was in really bad shape. (I really appreciated this, as that is something we never really remembered to check.) He took the time to show me how to take it out so I could bring it to the store to buy a replacement, as there are several kinds and sizes to choose from. To be fair to anyone who has never had this done before, the window in the basement didn't open big enough for the large hose-like tube they use, so we had to leave our front door open during the process. Normally I believe they have a tarp to keep the cold out and less worry about a pet getting out, (though it IS noisy by the door, because of the generator). Everything was fine, and I did mention this to someone in their office. I am very happy that I had this done. .

I called and spoke to Keith (the owner). Keith answered all my questions and gave me a price over the phone. We set up an appointment for a week later. The men came out right on time and cleaned all the vents, ducts, etc. in about 2 hours. For an extra small fee they also cleaned my dryer vent. The two men that came out to do the work were the best. Very neat, courteous and very experienced with their work. We will definitely call them again when we need our air ducts cleaned.
