Gotcha Covered of Chicago

I am very happy with Randy and with the service and products I received. I have very odd-sized windows - very long but narrow - 8 ft. long and only 24" high. Randy came out, took all the time necessary for me to decide on colors and type of shade, took measurements, etc. He contacted me a couple of weeks later to tell me that the shade company no longer manufactured the type of shade I ordered with the pull type selected, but that I can have the pull type in one step up. Randy covered the cost of the new selection since it was not represented accurately at the time of selection and made completely good on the purchase. Installation was quick and clean. I could NEVER have installed the shades as fast and as well as his installer did! I am delighted and will absolutely go back to Gottcha Covered when I install new window treatments in my living room and dining room.

We moved into a big new home that had no window treatments. After living with paper on the windows for almost a year, we finally took a deep breath and decided to see how much it would cost to have real window treatments. We had a couple of providers come out to quote, but Gotcha Covered (Randy and Doug) were by far the most accommodating and willing to find the right balance between our budget versus what we needed and wanted. They have a lot of experience and are willing to share it, but they are also good listeners and are able to incorporate what they think with what we wanted. Extremely nice guys who clearly care about ensuring a good customer experience. As part of the process, they also brought in a couple of other professionals--a designer and the person responsible for assembling some of the treatments--who clearly added to the excellent look of the finished product. The installation process could not have gone more smoothly. No mess, no fuss. Our home has been completely transformed and we feel that we were given extremely good advice about what to do in each of the rooms. The treatments operate well and look terrific. We could not be more enthusiastic about this company and the work that they did for us.

Incredibly smooth and easy to work with. While we knew this would be a fairly pricey purchase, it really couldn't have been easier to set up and have done. Randy came over for a quick visit to a**** the windows we wanted fitted. He brought samples of all the options and explained the differences. He answered all of my questions, made some helpful suggestions, followed up with a bid, and we made some minor adjustments before I paid the deposit. The installation was seamless, and we've been completely thrilled with the results.

I'm almost a year late in writing this review. Randy did a great job last May and his team installed all the treatments quickly, professionally and without incident. Randy excels at customer service. We recently had some painting performed and had a slight incident with the valences on two of our roman shades. One email to Randy and he was able to contact the manufacturer, send along our measurements and have a quote back to us the same day. We ordered the replacements and they arrived on our door 5 days later, perfect matches to the originals! I doubt Randy made much if any money on that transaction, but had he not stepped up we could have had a real dilemma on our hands. Great initial service and great follow up service! It shows the benefit of dealing with someone locally who relies on referrals for future business.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Although I had already decided most of what I wanted before meeting with them, they steered me some nice colors and fabrics.The roller shades were their idea entirely, and they turned out fantastic (in my newly remodeled kitchen). The only issue that happened was on the day of the install, when they discovered a vendor had shipped the wrong curtain rod. Long story short, I spent the next 10 days with my new living room drapes hanging over the wrong curtain rod (I couldn't open or close them) until the correct rod was shipped.

Good overall. There was a delay in receiving the order, but Randy was open and prompt in communicating updates. One of the blinds was incorrectly ordered and there were also some additioal post installation adjustments - again they were responsive and prompt in the repairs.

I like that the product is very good, and they were able to order it and install it pretty quickly and on schedule. What I didn't like, was that I mentioned that I was interested in getting window treatments for the rest of my home, and the guy didn't really seem that interested in helping me. One of the blinds didn't quite work, so they had to come back and fix it. They were pretty expensive.

Excellent Customer Service! I dealt with Randy and Doug, and both were wonderful. They showed up on time for the estimate, as well as the installation. We have a ton (24) of windows that I wanted treatments for. Randy did the initial estimate and helped us pick out the shades for the rooms. Their pricing beat the other estimates I had (thanks to the Angieslist discount). I think from start to finish, only 3 weeks elapsed. Doug came out to install the treatments, and did a quick efficient job, kept the house clean (they even bring a vacuum), and was a pleasure to work with. 1 shade had a problem with the cord lock, but it functions, and he'll be back soon to fix it. I highly recommend them.

They were professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

Very happy with the entire process and the products. Randy returned our initial e-mail promptly and we set up an appointment for the following week. Doug, the GM, came out to meet with us. Doug is very nice, and seems very knowledgeable. A couple days before the appointment, Doug called to ask if we had initial ideas so that he could make sure he brought plenty of samples we could view (and he brought plenty). Although we already had an idea of the blinds we wanted, Doug helped us narrow the color, and helped us choose the perfect size and style of the blinds and trim. The trim blends very well with the existing window trim. We had been thinking roman shades for the french doors, but Doug explained potential issues with that style of treatment on those types of doors. Doug suggested roller shades, and we looked at a lot of samples. We were slightly skeptical, but now that they are installed we are very happy with the choice of roller shades as the treatments on these doors. They shades don't detract from or interfere with the look of the french doors at all. Doug did the installation himself, within the time promised. Price was great, slightly less than we estimated based on prior shopping. We definitely will use this company for our future window needs! Overall a great experience.

I had been viewing blinds in catalogues and on websites for several weeks and I was getting frustrated with the experience -- too many options, too many pricing variables, not sure of quality, not sure which design or option would suit my needs best, etc. I called Gotcha Covered after reading the reports on Angie's List, and they scheduled an appointment with me at my earliest convenience. Randy Detert and his daughter Bethany came as scheduled with a variety of product samples. We had done some initial needs assessment over the phone, but once they were in my room they helped me sort through various design options and were extremely helpful to me. 3 weeks later, as promised, they returned to install the shades, and I am very, very happy with the results. It was a great experience working with them, and while window treatments are expensive, it was worth it to get a quality product that will last and withstand the daily wear and tear. It's also good to know that they stand behind their products and will return to fix any issues we may encounter in the future.

The price and the service were both great. It was very easy to deal with them. I would use them again in the future.

Every representative was friendly, communicated clearly, and arrived punctually. They cleaned up after themselves, and they were done in about 20 minutes per window. Surprisingly, they wouldn't accept a gratuity when work was done - most contractors are glad to do so.

It was a great and painless experience. Randy and Doug both came to our house during the initial meeting and Doug took measurements while Randy showed us samples. We made a decision that day and less than 2 weeks later the blinds were installed. One of the blinds was too short but they were able to have it corrected that same day and install it on the following day.

I had a really good experience. The guy who runs the company is the one who comes out to measure. He really is a nice person and very responsible. I did comparison shopping and the price was reasonable.

They came when promised; were helpful to me in making choices, and delivered everything under some time pressure exactly when they said they would.

Great. This was not our first time to use Randy and Gotcha Covered, and again they delivered. Randy helped make choices that we weren't 100% sure we'd be OK with, but they turned out great. There was a manufacturing problem with a lot of our blinds, and Randy was on top of it, giving us status updates regularly, and eventually getting us new blinds installed (no charge to us, of course) and ultimately getting a factory's manager fired. Our neighbors across the street liked what they saw and asked for Randy's name and number, and we were happy to recommend him.

It was a completely positive experience from start to finish. Randy and Doug are top-notch, very friendly, professional with a keen eye to detail and customer satisfaction. After the initial install, Doug returned to fine tune some window treatments, and adjust valances and so on. They were great on follow-through, calling to see if I was satisfied with the product and purchase and made sure to track the order from start to finish. I would recommend Gotcha Covered -- especially working with Randy and Doug -- to anyone looking for blinds or window treatments and beyond. They are both extremely well versed in styles, price options, fabrics and have great knowledge about what would work best in any particular home environment, and they work within your budget without pushing you to spend more. I'd definitely use them again!

Overall, it was a very good experience. There were a couple times we changed our minds and they were able to accommodate us very quickly.

I thought they were great, they showed up on time for appointments, he took all the time he needed to work with me without wasting my time, I thought that he was very professional.

Randy came out and showed me tons of swatches to choose from and gave me a quote on a few that I chose. In the end, he didn't have what I really wanted but gave me a recommendation of another company (that he had no affiliation with) that he thought might have it. He was very nice and I would, and have, totally recommended him to others.

Randy came out to measure our windows and give us the estimate. He brought samples of several different lines and price points, and helped us pick out what we wanted. The blinds we ordered took about two weeks to come in and it was less than a week to get them installed. The installation team was on time and extremely fast and efficient. We love our new blinds. They look and work fantastic. They were expensive, but Randy's price was a bit lower than the other estimate we received. Since the work was completed, he has followed up with us by mail to make sure everything was satisfactory.

See above - the only reason we didn't go with Randy was because he didn't have a product other than the solar shades where we could have the panel tracks for our sliding doors with fabric that would match the flat panel roman shades on our picture windows. We ended up going with a local firm that had a product that had both. I would certainly consider Randy again if I have to replace other window treatments in my home and feel very comfortable recommending him to others. He even emailed me pictures of the solar shades and how they looked in his home.

Randy came out with samples and helped me select the shades that would work best in my home. He measured the windows and ordered the shades. The shades were delivered and installed in a timely and professional manner. I had a couple of problems with two of the shades after they were installed, but they were resolved quickly. In an old home like mine, nothing ever gets down without some problem, but Randy responded to my calls quickly and the problems were resolved quickly. I was very satisfied both with the product and with the service.

Randy had great ideas, was professional and even supplied us with temporary blinds until our blinds came in. We had our blinds in less than 2 weeks! The installers were kind and respectful of our new home. We loved the service and I plan on referring Randy to my future clients.
