Farmers Market Garden Center

Description of Work: I was looking for mid size Hicks Yews that would not break the bank. They had a good assortment of plant material and I purchased five and got a 20% discount. They are beautiful plants and I'm happy to have them. The Chalet has them for about $75 and these are just as nice. Nice folks!

Description of Work: The Breton Association, a group of Townhouses, sought to replace four major trees that had been removed due to age and infestation. We spent the better part of a Friday visiting several Garden Centers on Angies List and were extremely surprised when finding Farmers Market Garden Center on Elston Ave. Although, several Markets revealed a rich variety of foliage that included the Blue Point Junipers we would purchase; all were priced far outside what we expected to spend. Indeed, the base cost, planting and delivery came to roughly twice our expectation. At Farmers Market we met Jack Prikos whose knowledge and professionalism regarding our needs were met. The cost, for example that of planting the selected trees, was not tied to 50% of the base price. Nor the delivery overpriced. And the base cost was roughly half that reported by the other Markets. Surprisingly, the trees were delivered and planted the afternoon of their purchase. The variety of foliage proved to be as rich and was marketed with a detailed knowledge of their care. I was even more surprised when Jack offered the number of his on-site builder to help me develop an enclosed box garden for a vegetable garden. We will certainly return to Jack's Farmers Market in the future.
