Manny showed up after hours as he makes calls in the evening which is great for those that work during the day. The appliance broke in a rental unit that I own and Manny was able to contact the tenant directly to set up a time to get over there. Made my job very easy. He showed up on time and upon review of the issue he called me to let me know what the issue was. He ultimately recommended that I get a new dishwasher for $300 unless I wanted to pay him $500 - 600 to fix. I appreciated his honesty and integrity. Was hassle free for me and tenant. I paid the $89 service fee and have new unit being delivered. I will definitely use again.

Two technicians came and it looked like David was in training. David did most of the work while ChiChi commented or directed. They advised that the ice make would have to be replaced as it could not be repaired.* I asked if they were sure it was the icemaker and asked if water was getting to the icemaker. They checked the hose and determined it was not blocked and the ice maker needed to be replaced. They were not sure if they had the correct icemaker in the truck but they did have a model that was compatible. David had to transfer my old wiring harness and bracket to the new icemaker. He installed the new icemaker and was finished within an hour. The only negative to the experience was that I had a bin of ice that I had made with an ice mold sitting on the counter. The ice was going to be used to make a smoothie for lunch. ChiChi reached into the ice bin and pulled out a cube and commented that he'd never seen a cube in this shape before. (It was a long cylindrical ice cube for water bottles.) He then threw it back into the bin. Consequently, I had to dispose of all of the ice as I had no idea which one had been contaminated. I had to wait several hours for the new icemaker to begin making ice. Otherwise the experience was a good one and a lesson was learned. If you don't want the techs to touch your food/ice keep it covered and out of their way. *I did disassemble the original icemaker and saw that the copper contact point for the heating element was corroded. Not only that but the plastic around it was charred and melted. Looks like I escaped a much bigger problem.

Rich did exactly what he said. He called before coming to my home and was here exactly at 8:30 am. No crazy repair window time was given and I appreciated that. He did a great job on the repair and allowed me to vacuum the inside of the dryer which was full of lint. I have peace of mind that the machine should hopefully last a few more years. Would use him again for sure.

second time got same guy no problems he knows what to do I will get same guy if I have a problem again .

He was able to come to the house the same day I contacted him for repairs. He was punctual, professional, took off his shoes. He was respectful. He was extremely knowledgable and very very helpful. He really knew his stuff! I am extremely satisfied with his service and highly recommend him to anyone in the future. This is the first number you should call.

I called on a Tuesday about a dryer not heating and was scheduled for an appointment the next day. Rich came toward the beginning of the 3 hour window and called to let me know he was on his way. He was professional and polite. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. I would use them in the future.

I left a message around 11pm on Sunday and Monday morning received a call from them. They sent someone out by 10.30am and by 11 am they were done. They only had to replace the main control board (I made sure to give them the model no. over the phone) which costs around $180 if bought from GE. They did mention there is a service fee of $75, but then the total came up to $350. So overall a bit pricey, otherwise very prompt and professional.

Charged $75 for labor $35.00 for parts.

Was grateful for the responsiveness to a call on Saturday morning. Problem solved in only a few hours. Prompt, friendly, and professional.

Rich showed up on time, called before he arrived and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. I appreciated that I asked him a question about another appliance and he answered my question and did not push me into another service that was not needed. When I do need any other appliance repairs, I will use these folks again! Thank you Rich.

My dishwasher leaked two nights in a row so I decided to give someone a call. I forgot to call until 4pm in the afternoon and someone still arrived same day to fix it, at their normal service charge rate. The tech couldn't find a leak but stayed for a long time making sure he wasn't missing anything. He was also great with my 4yo son who was really interested.

Manny came an took a look at the problem. He wrote up the estimate that included parts and labor. Then he said that he does not like to take customer's money to do something that they could do themselves. He then showed me how to replace the oven filament. He even gave me the part number. He only charged me the fee for making the visit. Today, I replaced the oven filament. He saved me over $200! It is indeed rare to find that kind of honesty from a repairman. He even provided tips on how to extend the life of my dish washer. I would highly recommend him.

After investigating the issue, initially he told it would cost $250-330. Then he told that it would require new control board and the total cost will be $460. I found the control board will cost around $150. I asked him why is he asking so much but did not get good answer. I think he was asking too much and it is not worth to fix this issue. I was also not sure if that was the root cause. So I decided not to fix it. The service person put everything back and just charged the investigation fee of $79.

The serviceman, Wil, arrived promptly, was very polite, and immediately went to work. When he had called to confirm the appointment I told him that the dishwasher just would not start and I had a full load in it. He said it wasn't necessary for me to unload it. When he got here I also told him that one of the mounting screws had been coming off, my husband kept replacing it, but it had fallen off again and was now down in the drain. He immediately retrieved it with a magnetic screwdriver without having to take anything apart. He said that the dishwasher had not been mounted properly and over use had shifted a bit which caused the screw to keep falling out. He maneuvered the appliance and, in essence, sort of remounted it and replaced the screw. Then he addressed the original problem. It turned out to be a faulty control panel. He explained that it was a common problem. He asked me to trip the circuit breaker so he could remove it. He then removed it and called "headquarters" to see if there was one in stock. There was not so he ordered one. He said it should be there by the next day (Friday), so replaced the old one and I turned the circuit breaker back on. On Friday, he called and apologized - the control panel wasn't yet in and might not be in until Monday. He was right - it came in on Monday and he called me that morning to see if he could come out immediately. That was fine with me. So, he came out and replaced the control panel in less than a half hour, rechecked the mounting and noted it was now in proper position, gave me credit for the service call as it took so long for the part to come in, along with the 10% Angie's List credit, I gave him a check, and that was it. I will DEFINITELY use this company again if I ever need another large appliance to be repaired and I would hope that Wil would again be the serviceman.

Perfect, quick and professional

I called about 8:30AM and a technician was servicing our refrigerator by 9:30AM. Within 5 minutes the tech, David, diagnosed the problem, gave an estimate and told me he had all of the parts with him. He then completed putting in the replacement ice maker and valve in about 15 minutes! It was super fast. David was very nice and professional. He was good about moving the items on top of the refrigerator when he had to move it. He then walked me through the process of defrosting our freezer in order to free the ice that had built up in the water line. Additionally he told me that the vent in the back of the freezer shouldn't be covered and remain free so that proper air circulation occurs. I appreciated this tip as well as his explanations. Fast, great service! I will definitely use them again!

Things could not have gone better. I got home on a Thursday night to find that both my refrigerator and freezer were room temperature. After calling several places, I gave Chicago Appliance Service a call. Their answering service took my information. David from their company called me right back. He let me know that he could come in the early afternoon, giving me an hour and a half window. David arrived at the early end of that window. I expected that it would be an inspection and then he would let me know what needed to be done and the estates cost. David actually had guessed that the problem was the motherboard, showing up with the replacement. He was right, replacing the motherboard. Within 10-15 minutes, my refrigerator was up and running. David was great. He set my expectations and anticipated my needs. He got the job done far quicker than I had imagined. I will definitely use their service again.

David came out within 3 hours of my call and was able to very quickly diagnose and fix my refrigerator. He was extremely professional, cleaned up so there was no trace of his visit and even gave me some tips to avoid repeating what happened. I would definitely recommend David and Chicago Appliance Service.

Spoke to answering service and received a call back from Rich within a half hour. As it turns out, he correctly diagnosed the problem over the phone. Rich came the next morning and was great- knowledgeable, courteous and fast and had the correct replacement part with him. Definitely will call again when something goes wrong.

I had called the 24 answering service the evening before. The technician called me back within the hour and scheduled and appointment for between 10 am and 1 pm the next day. He was here promptly at 10 am and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it within the hour.(He had the parts that he needed in his vehicle.) Our dryer was up and running again in less than 24 hrs. from the time I first contacted them. He was courteous and professional and reasonably priced.

Service center said a technician would call within 15-20 minutes but it was closer to 45 minutes. Other than that, Rich was able to come over about 20 minutes after we spoke. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He finished in about 20 minutes and I have a dryer that now actually dries again. Would call again for any other appliance repairs I may need.

For the most part they were great. It took longer for them to get in touch with me than the answering service indicated. The service indicated about 15 minutes but it really closer to 45-60 minutes. Aside from that detail, the guys were great! The technician - David - was scheduled to arrive sometime between 2 and 5 in the afternoon. He was actually early. I showed him what was wrong with the refrigerator/freezer and he immediately diagnosed what the issue was (a blown defrost thermostat). It took him less than an hour to defrost the freezer and replace the part and he was on his way. I was really happy with the service and will definitely call them the next time I need work done on my appliance.

I called on a Thursday. An answering service took the call and said someone would call within 15 minutes. Rich called and arranged to send a technician on Monday. He guessed the drain plug was clogged. He provided a range for the service charge (which was less than the store where the appliance was purchased would charge for a service). He could have provided service earlier than Monday but my schedule was not flexible. I was given a window between 9 and 1. At 12:30 the technician called to say he was on the way. The technician determined the drain plug was clogged. He provided an estimate and two options. I agreed to have him remove the plug and manually defrost the ice which was covering the drain hole preventing the water from dripping into the drain pan. He worked efficiently and was finished in 45 minutes. I was very happy with the entire experience. Later, I had a question about the charge and the owner Al called me back almost immediately to explain and answer my questions. I got a good deal and paid much less than the store would have charged. Additionally, the store's service technicians were booked solid and I would have had to wait 10 days for service.

A few minutes after calling the answering service, I received a call back from Rich who was able to come out to fix my dryer within about 30 minutes. Once at my house, he was able to quickly diagnose the problem and fix it. The diagnosis and repair was done in about 20 minutes. Rich was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. A job well done!
