Budget Right Kitchens LTD., DBA Budget Right Handyman

I had a leaky faucet in my kitchen. I had been to Home Depot and Menards with pictures of the problem and they said I simply needed to shut off water, remove faucet and replace a cracked gasket. I didn't feel I had the expertise or strength to do this. Hence my call to Budget. The gentleman scheduled to come out today, Matt, called a couple of hours prior to appointment. He wanted to reschedule - his van/stools were stolen (bummer!) . He then arranged for his co-worker, Ruiz to come out today in his place. Ruiz (sp?) showed up at the new appointed time and began working on my faucet. I thought he would remove faucet, pull out the damaged partt and pick up the replacement which I would pay for. When I came in to check on the status, Ruiz said he couldn't remove the hose from the faucet to remove the gasket for fixing. I asked him to show me. He removed the faucet again, and it appeared that the hose was stripped. He then said I needed new faucet. I wish someone would have told me prior! Ruiz was very nice. Unfortunately he didn't hook up or tighten the faucet hose properly because now water is leaking into the bottom cabinet - which it did NOT do before. I have placed a bucket and a dishtowel under the sink and I'm hesitant to turn on the faucet (a big inconvenience as its in the kitchen) or put anything under the sink until this is resolved. AARG! I'm very frustrated that I spent $98 dollars for naught and now my issue worse than before. On using provider in the future - I'm conflicted - the people were nice, but I did not get the resolution I was expecting..

Paid for 2 hours of service & ended up taking 4 hours. He had to go get extra parts, so I had to pay an additional $120 for services, I was not pleased at all.

On the phone he said the work I described would take 1.5 hours for, the paneling replacement, and I also had a few other small projects. We agreed on the phone to see how far he could get in the two hours. When the man came to my house, he looked at the paneling and said that alone would take a half day! I declined, and called someone else, who was able to easily finish the work in 1.5 hours.

It was not the level of professionalism that I was looking for. He was four hours late. He broke a light hanging the medicine cabinet and did a bad job with the painting. It was not a good thing. He did tell me, if I bought a new light fixture, he hang it for free. The price was good. I would not use them again.

My experience wasn't great......the first appointment the guy never showed up.....when I called they had no idea and said they were going to track him down.....I later found out that "he was fine".....but never a real explanation.......I had a project that I needed done for another appointment I had scheduled 2 days later......I was given a timeline for the next day that wasn't great but I said he could stay for an hour at least and knock out that project and a few more....someone did show up....I had the glue and grout ready....he did the job and then said he was told that was all he was told that he was supposed to do.....AND he took one of the materials that I supplied with him.....which was not a costly thing....but a principal thing for me. I then called back to get the remainder of the time I had of the 2 hours....they sent out another handyman who was fine......didn't do a great job......rehung a letter on the wall crooked.....made a scratch on the floor when moving a desk AFTER I told him I could move it for him and give him room to hang a picture......none of the work I asked to be done was difficult......just a check list. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company.

Would definitely recommend- Budget Right sent a skilled person who got the job done efficiently. Installed closet shelving and repaired a tricky issue with a closet floor. We have plaster walls and he installed everything very securely.

I have used Budget Right before, and have been happy with their service. Ken was able to deal with most of the problems I had, and told me what I needed to do to fix the things he couldn't. I would particularly like to say that he is really great at doing carpentry repairs with pretty much any materials that are to hand, and making the results look completely finished and professional! I will definitely use them again.

They were able to do a range of different work and they were professional and efficient about it.

I was very satisfied with the service received from Budget Right Handyman. I purchased a $79 big deal this past October, which included two hours of labor for handyman services. On Monday, March 24, 2014, I contacted Budget Right Handyman, spoke to Matt, mentioned my big deal purchase, and informed him that I had at least 10 pieces of art to be hung. I asked Matt what type of hardware he preferred to hang the paintings and I purchased what was needed. At the time, I could not recall the other tasks I had in mind. My appointment was scheduled Tuesday, March 25 at 8:00 a.m., and David would be my handyman for two hours. David arrived early Tuesday morning and I showed him 10 paintings/pictures and two small wood items to be hung in the living room. In addition, David replaced two electrical outlets and installed a smoke/carbon monoxide detector in my basement, and smoke detectors in my kitchen and on my upstairs landing. He cleaned up any dust left behind after drilling holes in the walls. I highly recommend Budget Right Handyman for projects you prefer not to do yourself. I will be contacting them again in the very near future!

Would not recommend. First, scheduling was nightmare. They don't do email or text so you have to connect with guy. I understand wanting to actually talk to be sure you understand the scope of the work, but after that, when you need to just pin down a day and time, I don't see why that can't be done more efficiently. We played tag for several weeks. I was more persistent ( probably since I'd paid in advance) and finally got it scheduled. If you buy a deal, watch out for "upselling". I was sure my job could be completed in the time I bought or I was willing to scale back the scope. But, the guy I spoke with was insistent that the job would likely exceed the two hours I'd bought. He said installing the knobs would take all day. I said, let's see how it goes When the worker ( sorry, but I don't recall his name ) arrived, he put the knobs on my kitchen cabinet just fine. His pace then noticeably slowed. There is a metal strip across the carpet where the flooring transistions and I needed it tacked down. Whatever he did came apart almost immediately. It then took quite a while to hang my shadow boxes and two display shelves. Had the work and experience been better, I would have had them do other things. But, now, I'll just look for someone else.

It was determined that the service man would need assistance I. Replacing our fascia on the garage. We took pictures and emailed those pictures to the provider . So they knew coming into this project what was expected. A second date for project completion was scheduled. He did not show up nor did he call. I had to call. I was told someone would contact me, no one has, very disappointed. I would not recommend this company to anyone for any reason.

Nick Reyes called and showed up at the location on time. He was very courteous and efficient. He had to adjust the hardware for the new door and took care of it very efficiently. He was careful to keep the place of work neat. He cleaned up after work was finished. Since there was some time left in the 2 hr contract he took care of the lint from the dryer.

Everything went great. Dirk got back to me quickly and scheduled the appointment, was timely and quick when he arrived, and quick and thorough with creating and sending the final plans.

Scheduling was fine and He was running a little late for appointment. They technician was very knowledgeable and capable of the job. He worked non-stop to get the job done. I was appreciative of his work.

I purchased big deal from Angie’s List. Everything went very well. Repairs were done as requested and I would call again. They came on time, were very clean and did the work exactly to my specifications.

Overall, everything turned out well. Everything I had requested I wanted work done was performed correctly. Nothing was left incomplete. Scheduling went just fine and there was one handymen out doing the work for me. I felt the price was excellent for the service they did.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were good. One of the things I wanted was to have new insulation put on the windows and they told me that I needed new windows so it didn't make any sense to do that work. I thought that would take the whole time so I ended up giving them other things. I had a list of things but that was the one that was going to take up the most time. I didn't pay any additional.

The whole event took about an hour. The 'deal' was two hours of work for $79.00. The work and deal was OK but I still had to track down and pay an electrician to do the rest of the work. I wish I had known the repairman had a limited skill-set.

He showed up right at the designated time and knocked the work out in less than the estimated time. Work looks great and I'm glad I found these guys on Angie's List.

He arrived late, with an incomprehensible excuse. He did an adequate job, but it didn't take two hours and we were required to pay for two hours. He left a tool, and never came to pick it up.

Dirk was very professional and provided me exactly what I expected: measurements for the kitchen, ideas for the layout, a set of simple designs, and an estimated cost for the work.

The work itself was great, but my initial communication with Budget Right was not. The person I spoke to on the phone said the drywall could not be repaired in two hours so I would have to pay for extra time. I said I would just have the repair man do whatever he could in two hours. The repair man who did the work told me the day he arrived that he could repair them using a quick-drying solution. He was able to get the small holes totally repaired and sanded, but the large hole took longer to try so I had to finish sanding it myself. Even though I had to finish this part myself, he did an impressive job getting it as far along as he did.

Great job. Well done, clean, informative. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

That was great. He was friendly and tidy. He did a good job. There was nothing that I disliked about him. Go ahead and hire him because he is worth the money.
