Everything went as expected. I was very pleased

I purchased the Big Deal for two hours of handyman work for some odds and ends I wanted done around the house. When I phoned to make the appointment, they were scheduling about 10 days out. On the day of the appointment, Aeron (the handyman) phoned in the morning to say that he could arrive about an hour early if it worked for me. That was fine on my end, but I appreciated not feeling pressured to have him come early. When Aeron arrived we went over my "bucket list" and discussed what was needed for each item. One of the things I wanted done was to have a lock installed on an outdoor shed room, but I'd purchased the wrong type of lock. Aeron explained that he'd have to run out to buy a lock, as well as a new lint trap for my washing machine. He estimated that the errand and work together would take about three hours and made sure to check that I was okay with both the time and cost estimates. All the projects went well, and I was very pleased with Aeron's meticulousness and honesty. Here's an example - I have a mirror over my mantel that had been hung by a different handyman some months past. I was a bit nervous that it hadn't been done properly, so I asked him to check it. When he did, he found that the previous handyman had only used one hanger and didn't even have it in the wall all the way! Aeron explained what type of hangers should be used with concrete and rehung the mirror with two additional hangers. This is the kind of small job that would be so easy for a handyman to breeze through and do improperly (as the initial handyman obviously did). Aeron did the work properly and I feel much better now that I know that mirror isn't going anywhere. Another item on my list was a window in my family room that I thought needed repairs. It turned out that it was just off its track and didn't need to be fixed at all. That was a pleasant surprise, as I'd been prepared to pay for a window repair! Aeron could have fabricated a repair job - I don't know a darn thing about windows - but didn't. Overall, I was really pleased with the service and work Aeron performed. He was competent, honest, and got the work done in the time he'd estimated.

Aeron arrived early, worked quickly and efficiently, and explained all our options every step of the way. His work was immaculate and exceeded expectations. He was polite, well informed, and friendly. We'd happily hire him again.

It didn't go. Because it felt as if there wasn't any regard for my feelings, I asked for my money back. Tim said to call you, and to tell you he said that it was ok with him. That was it. It was just that simple. I wasted my time waiting for someone to show up because someone else didn't care enough about my business to their job. And from the way it sounded this hadn't happened before. Strange.

I was able to schedule a week after I called. Steve was not only on time, but early. He called to let me know and I met him ahead of schedule. He looked at all of the various jobs I had for him then quickly got to work. He was so quick, he actually finished before the 2 hour time slot I had. The job was done perfectly and I have no complaints. He was courteous, professional, and did a great job!

There were no additional costs beyond the price of the deal. The technician who came did an okay job. They did a decent job with the work and I was satisfied.

It was fine, they did good work, and I’d hire them again. I had them replace a door. They were easy to deal with and the guy that came out was very friendly.

That turned out well. I had job do some jobs and it took an additional 3 hours after that, but it was at a good price. I paid about $150.00. He did some carpentry work. He replaced a wooden post to a fence and it now it works fine. He cut off the bottom to a gate also so it would not hit the sidewalk. He was courteous and knew his work; he was well versed in carpentry. He was also very pleasant. Since this was outside work, the first appointment we had to we had to re-scheduling due to it being rainy weather.

Aeron showed up on time. He was very pleasant & hardworking. I was pleasantly surprised on how fast he was working!!!! He had fixed everything on my list!!!! I thought it would take at least 4 hrs, but he got it finished in 2 hrs.!!!! He did his best on that old rickety table. Eventually, I will have to replace it....oh well..... I am going to use them from now on!!! I am going to get a another list together & give them a call!! I am VERY HAPPY w/there service!!!!!!!

I wanted several things done but ti took so long to finish the caulking that there was no time. The handyman was nice enough but really liked to talk. There were/are several other handy man projects that I need help with but will look for someone else.

All work was done timely and professionally. We are planning to have them do some other work for us.

I contacted Budget Right Handyman outside of Angie's List to see what their pricing is: I was quoted $49 an hour. Multiply that by 2 hours and you get $98, which is the supposed "50% discounted" rate they are advertising on Angie's List. Furthermore, when I called to try to set up a date for service, Matt was less than helpful--couldn't locate my original email request or my contact information and did not understand the simple task I needed to have done. I did not schedule service.

I purchased this deal a couple months ago and they were extremely prompt in calling me to schedule the service. I said I wanted to wait until my mantle shelf was in and they said no problem! I called them last week and scheduled for today. I have Mondays off so today worked out great but also they have weekend hours! The handyman was early and finished all three jobs in under 2 hours. I was really impressed with the level of expertise and knowledge that comes with getting the work done this quickly! He was extremely personable and approachable.

Very responsive. Ran to Home Depot to get cleaning agent for the caulk. Would use again.

Service tech came out to house in Englewood..said he smelled weed. Wouldn't perform services..told me they would send someone else out...never did. they held me up for 4 weeks, then made an excuse (no weed, maybe clove cigarette). didn't want to be in area..bottom line. STAY AWAY!!! And by the way, it took them between scheduling and rescheduling almost 4 weeks to come out. This is why I was so upset..they effectively wasted a month of my time and then wouldn't perform the work. 4 weeks. NOT COOL.

I will never waste my time with this company again. The day of the rescheduled appointment, they did not show up. I received a text from the technician that he was running late, then another text that he was in a car accident, and the company never called to tell me what happened or if they could send someone else out. I called the company and they insisted they reschedule with the same technician again for two weeks later. He never showed up. I called the company twice, I called the technician, and no one even returned my calls. I missed an important family event to show up for this appointment. I am going to demand a refund from this company and would never waste my time with them again.

They were terrible. I would never use them again. I took off work to have them come out to my house for the service. They called and we were disconnected, I called back four times with no response. I then called the company to see if he was on his way or if he would call back. They said he noted that he called me and I wasn’t home so he went to another job. I felt he made an excuse to not come and do the work.

It was more complicated than originally expected, but that isn't necessarily a reflection of the company. With my first appointment, they first person who came out, he couldn't fix the faucet because the original faucet was special order and the parts were not easy to find (if they could be found at all) So, I ordered a new faucet and set up a second appointment and a different person came out. Like I said earlier, the orginal faucet was special ordered so that meant that the new faucet required additional parts that the orginal faucet didn't have, so he had to run to the store which took a little less than 30 mins. The next issue was the actual size of the bathroom (which is small) so this also created challenges too for the installation...that being said, the basics of the installation were done, but he ran out of time (I prepaid for 2 hours) and I had to finish the rest. While the situation was not ideal, thankfully I live near an ACE Hardware store and the nice man who works there walked me through what I needed to do to complete my installation.

Here is how it fell off the tracks: When I spoke to Dick Hoerr I was very specific in my question, "do you guys know how to adjust an Anderson french door with 8 hinges?" the answer was "oh sure not a problem". I stressed these are not just run of the mill door hinges they adjust up, down,left, right and pivot. He said I'l send a guy that will understand how they work. The service guy that came out got to my home before I could get home. I arranged to have him let in and instructed him where the doors were. I got home about a half hour later to find him filing the bottom of the door. I had to point out that the wood of the door was not what was rubbing the threshold it was the rubber seal on the outside edge. He agreed and understood filing what he was filing would not fix anything. He seamed relieved when I pointed out the hinges, he assured me he could "figure them out". He kept turning screws randomly for about a half hour before he gave up. I actually was relieved at that point and just hoping the door would still work. He told me the only way to get them adjusted was to get Anderson to come out. At first I figured it was just the guy I spoke to on the phone that screwed up but I cannot. I have to say the other work was just fair. To cut the shelfs he needed a saw blade from me and to use my tape measure. The cuts did not need to be precise however I expected them to be straight they are not. He did not clean up outside where he did the cutting. He was polite enough and I'm sure they can do some things well. They offer what would be a very fair price if they were more skilled. Mostly they should not say they can do something over the phone if they are not sure, all he had to say is, I'm not sure, send me a picture or I'l send someone out to LOOK at it. I did call A Better Door and Window, also on Angie's list they did a great job on my door adjustment.

BOB and STEVE of Budget Right Handyman were GREAT! They arrived on time. They quickly assessed how the heavy awning could best be hung. They executed perfectly. Double-checked their work. Cleaned up. And they were really nice guys, too! Will DEF use them again.

We contacted Budget Right for assistance in hanging artwork and other items in our apartment - basic stuff, but I wanted backup in the event we needed to drill into plaster, etc. The handyman who provided the service, Aaron, arrived on time. He was very conscientious to make sure each item was hung securely, and checked frequently if he had questions about how or where an item should be placed. After he completed work in each room he invited us in to make sure his work matched our vision for the room. He also discussed how to best hang certain pieces in order to avoid risk of damage - including advising us that certain pieces should not be hung from ceilings/walls, etc. Aaron was very polite and was able to complete the job while my wife and I worked. We would certainly use Budget Right again should the need arise.

The office also did a good job of scheduling at a time convenient for us.

On May 13th I ordered the deal of 2 hours of handyman service for $98 from Budget Right Handyman. In scheduling the appointment, I told them I needed repairs on my toliet plus some other handyman projects. On May 20th, Nick from Budget Right Kitchens came. I had him fix my toilet first since it was at the top of my list. Nick fixed my toilet in about 30 minutes. after he completed my main task, I went on to other items on my list since I purchased 2 hours worth of service. Nicks reply? "I'm just a plumber, you need to contact the company for the other things." As it turned out, the toilet was not fixed. I first contacted Nick and when he didn't reply I called the office and talked to Matt. Finally Nick returned my call and when I told him the toilet was not fixed and that maybe it needed to be rodded or might have to be taken up to remove the object obstructing it he replied that he was not a plumber. I was amazed at his reply because on the first visit he is a plumber, but now he is not a plumber? Nick told me he would have the manager call me. The manager called while I was in a meeting at work so I missed the call. I repeatedly tried to get a hold of him again to no avail. On several occasions in talking to Matt at the office he promised that the manager Tim would call but he never did. This is unbelievably bad customer service. I beyond tired of dealing with them. My toliet has now been broken for over a month. At this point I want my money back so I can hire a real plumber.

Purchased the 2 hr $99 Angie's List deal and it was well worth it. Bob came over to help us with many of the odds and ends in the place. He was extremely professional, personable and knowledgeable. My only complaint is he wasn't able to fix up our patio screen door as hoped. He was going to research a necessary part that weekend and get back to us, but never did. Despite that, i'd absolutely use their service again when needed.

The service turned out very well. We ended up using the handyman for more than 2 hours so there was an additional fee for the additional work. He repaired some holes with drywall that the electricians had left. He also did some painting, hanging and a few other small jobs. He was efficient, courteous and did a nice job.
